Flash Player 9 Not Working on Mac OS X

I just installed the Flash Player 9 on my Power PC based Mac
OS X 10.3.9 and now no Flash elements work in Safari 1.3.2, or even
Explorer (which I don't use). I have been sure to close all
browsers, uninstall first etc. The installations appears to
complete successfully, but I get the following error message on any
page that has flash:
The page “Adobe” attempted to load an Internet
plug-in named “Shockwave Flash”, but the plug-in failed
to load successfully.
Worse yet, any attempts to install on older version of the
player now give me the same error. I can no longer view any Flash!
If anyone can help (Adobe!), it would be much
appreciated.

Many, many thanks to primes235. AFter hours of trying to
uninstall, reinstall, etc., I used his directions (see step 1,
etc., on his 12/16/06 post. I was able to drag those files (enable
file sharing IF you are networked) from another computer, and all
is working fine now. These files were not really invisible/hidden;
just be sure you delete the ones specified before moving the new
ones.
hI am still not sure why this happened, except I was
following directions that I needed to update flash from

Either that site is buggy, or the new flash is. From the
comments before this, I don't expect a reply from Adobe either. I
tried calling them, but no luck. Crappy customer/tech support. Hope

1. System Preferences > Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button.
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

   Download it first.
   The next step is important.
   Click Safari in the menubar and select “Quit Safari”.
   If it doesn’t quit, Force Quit it.
   Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
   When Force Quit window appears, select the application if not already.
   Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window. Wait.
   Application will quit.
    Follow the prompts and install it.
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.

Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

thanks for helping. I have windows 7, internet explorer. recently had to replace my hard drive, and compete reinstall of all software so still a few bugs on settings, ect. not seeing any error messages. video and uploading pics seemed to be fine until the last week. not sure what could have changed . I can still look at PDF ect, I'm not positive its the Adobe that is messed up, but the 2 things I'm having problems with, clicking on and watching video on espn.com and not uploading pics to Facebook, both just does nothing when I try them. no errors, just black screen where its suppose to play or upload. the trouble shooting for both sites say make sure to have the latest version of flash player, so thats why I assume something is wrong with Adobe. when I do the self scan from this site it says I have the latest version. my settings say the player is enabled

I finally figured it out. Flash Player had not installed. I had to de-activate Active-X thru the safety tab on the menu bar and then download the Adobe Flash Player and now it's working. I re-activated Active X after I finished installing Flash,. Hope fully everything will keep working fine!

Hi, I just got my mac back from the apple store and sadly I lost all my data so its a 'new mac' and i had to set it up from scratch etc.
I am unable to watch videos on youtube and other sites that need Java or Adobe flash player EVEN THOUGH I have downloaded and uninstalled several times and each time it doesnt work. Ive checked in safari prefferences that 'enable java-script' and 'enable plug-ins' is on but it still will not work!
Ive been on system prefferences and checked the java and adobe application prefferences to see if i can add the websites oor something but it will not work.

I downloaded Adobe Flash Player when i got my Macbook in Dec 2011, and until now it has worked fine. Today I downloaded Adobe Reader to view a PDF file, but I decided I preferred the Apple Preview, so I deleted the Adobe Reader off my system. I then tried to listen to a radio station online which requires Flash Player and it stated that I did not have the Flash Player on my laptop. I then tried to download Adobe Flash Player again to my laptop, and the download appeared to have worked but when I try to use websites like YouTube it asks for me to download Flash Player. Can you tell me why this is? And how to get Adobe Flash Player back on my Mac and for it to work again.

When I open Task Manager the only thing I see is "Tasks". I do not see the Processes tab. I have seen this in the past along with measures of other activity, but not anything now. I tried the Start/Search - nothing about Processes.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process.

I recently upgarded flash player on my mac os 10.6.8. Safari 5.1.10 After the upgrade videos will not play. Is there a way to get older versions of flash player?

Flash Player 12 works just fine with Snow Leopard. I have it on my server machine. No problems at all in Safari, Opera, Firefox.
Give it a "clean install" to make sure you've gotten the old plug-ins out and that the new ones are "allowed" by Safari.
