Flash Player 9 obstructs ALL QT media

After installing Flash Player 9.0r47 on my Mac, ALL QT media
is prevented from playing.
My system includes: Mac OS X 10.4.7 (PPC) and QT 7.13.
When QT content is available on my machine or on the web, I
get a QT icon with ? mark.
Any ideas will be helpful.

Actually you have it backwards. Quicktime is taking over your
Flash content!

  • Flash Player crashes in all browsers

I have IE 8, Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 6.0 on my laptop.  I have the latest version of Flash on all three.  All of of a sudden, the Flash Player plugin will crash and the browser will lock up any time I open a page that uses Flash.  What could be doing this?

Here are the files in the Flash folder:
    Flash Player Trust
    Flash10k.ocx
    FlashInstall
    flashplayer.xpt
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX
    NPSWF32.dll
    Version is 10.1.85.3

Hi, thanks. I think we need to take a look at the Flash files.
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed. You will need to right click on the NPSWF files and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.
    Thanks,

  • When will the Adobe flash player return to all Apple mobile devices?

I think that Apple should very well eliminate these restrictions by reintroducing the Adobe Flash Player back into all Apple mobile devices sometime this spring or summer.
    Kevin Silvestris
    Worcester, MA

    Yeah.
And everybody should be nice to each other beginning Wednesday.
And no more taxes beginning next year.
Oh.. and cheap gas by the end of summer.
Adobe does not make a flash player for iphone.  They never have.

  • Installed flash player 12.  All sites report "flash player required, get flash player".

Flash player 11 worked fine - - no problems.  Installed Flash player 12; now all sites report that I have no flash player.  Flash object add-on is enabled for all web sites.   What's going on?

    See: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ieinternals/archive/2013/09/21/internet-explorer-11-user-agent-str ing-ua-string-sniffing-compatibility-with-gecko-webkit.aspx
MS really did a number on IE 11. They intentionally screwed up the User-Agent Strings so it's difficult if not impossible for websites to identify.
The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. In fact, the loonballs in Redmond actually think this was a good idea.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Flash Player allows connection to the Media Server while a browser works offline

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Run Internet Explorer or Firefox browser
    2. Go to
    http://www.salesforce.com/company/
this page contains a flash component that shows a video from the
    Media Server
    3. Close the browser
    4. Run the browser and switch it to work offline
    5. Go to
    http://www.salesforce.com/company/
    again
    Actual Results:
The browser loads all the media from the cache, but flash
component establishes connection to Media Server and downloads a
    video via RTMP.
    Expected Results:
Due to the browser works offline the flash player component
should not connect to Media Server.
    Can somebody confirm?
Is this a bug or the feature?

Is there anything different being done in the second report as compared to the first one? Have you tried other browsers to access the report and see if the behaviour is different?
Perhaps you can first ensure using a reports developer client to render the report connecting to the same database as the server.
Other option is to set trace on on the reports server and check if any exceptions in Oracle Reports server are causing the behaviour.

  • Flash Player 11 causes all attempts at video streaming to crash my computer

    Hi
I too have been having problems since installing Flash Player 11.  I uninstalled it and hoped to reinstall 10.3.  All attempts at this brought me back to Flash Player 11.  I re-installed again - this time with my Anti-virus program off.  Now animations will work, but youTube, internet games and internet videos do not.
I have a PC with Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8 and the anti virus and firewall are supplied by my internet provider - Rogers-Yahoo.
Can anyone help me with this problem?  I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

    Hi libflashplayer.so,
Thanks for answering.  The version of Adobe Flash Player I have is 11.0.1.152  .
Regarding You Tube...I can bring up the site or type in what I'm looking for and a page will come up  - like this page for example: http://http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=andrea+bocelli+time+to+say+goodbye&aq=1 &oq=Andrea+Bo  . ( I cannot make screenshots. When I push Alt + PrtScn SysRq, nothing happens.
The problem occurs after I choose a video, like Anreas Bocelli singing with Sarah Brightman.  The little iconic TV Screen will appear as if the video is going to load (Ie. a little black screen with the transparent start arrow.  Then my entire computer screen goes black.  There is no error message given.  A note comes onto the screen in white letters saying something like "Entering Auto  Mode" or something like that.
If I go to the website for ctv : http://shows.ctv.ca/ and then scroll down & click to watch an episode from Law & Order: SVU here://http://shows.ctv.ca/LawAndOrderSVU.aspx  , the Law & Order SVU "TV Screen" comes up.  All I need to do is click the semi-transparent "Play" - but if I do that the computer crashes again and goes into the mode I explained above.   The computer just crashes when this happens.
I WAS able to open & watch this ad that a friend sent.  Windows Media Player opened first & then this ad came on screen:
Hmmm. It won't let me paste it!  Its a wmx file I believe,
Hope that gives you sufficient info for now.
    Sincerely,

  • Flash Player Crashes In All Web Browsers

    Dear Adobe,
For months now when ever I visit a site that uses flash, wever it be in Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 or Mozilla Firefox. Within about 5 minutes the page I am on will crash and report to me that, the flash plugin / player has crashed. It does this without fail, every time I go online. I mostly play zynga games on facebook. I also use fullscreen whenever possible, and always using the latest version of flash thanks to the cool flash updater.
I have just today checked and updated to the latest nvidia graphics drivers with a clean installation.
I followed advice about disabling hardware acceleration and going through the steps for uninstalling Flash, and emptying the folders associated with it. Sadly though the problem still remains.
I would love for this long time problem to be resolved!
My system is Windows 7 64-Bit, with an Nvidia Geforce 7600gs.
    Please find dxdiag results.

Hi Mikey - Sorry you're running into these crashes.  It's odd that this is occurring with all browsers and Flash content.  There must be something specific about your system that is causing this to happen.  We'd like to investigate further.  Would you be willing to create a new bug report and attach both your dxdiag report and any crash dumps that you can generate?  Please see this FAQ for additional details and steps.
How do I report a Flash Player crash to Adobe?

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes in all browsers

    Hi,
I have had issues with playing videos before. They would constantly freeze (while the sound continued), it was like I was watching stop motion videos all the time. This was a recent problem that started happening within the last month or so. I got really fed up with it so I looked for a fix for it on google. The result of that search was: I was told the videos might be freezing so often because of the fact that I had two adobe flash players in operation on google chrome. I was told I had to try turning one off in order to get the player to work properly. I turned off one then the other and then both to no avail.
    BUT
then the flash player refused to work on ANY video. I figured it might just be Chrome but it happened in Firefox too. (I'm afraid to update internet explorer because I don't want it to not work there). I keep getting the "shockwave player crashed" error message in Chrome and the equivalent in Firefox. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling adobe but that did nothing.
My operating system is Windows Vista 32bit, I used both Firefox and Chrome web browsers both with the latest versions, I have the latest version of the adobe flash player.
At this point in time I can't get any site that runs on Adobe flash player to work and no videos that run on adobe flash player work. My problem is officially a whole lot worse.
    HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm having the exact same problem.
Until today, I haven't had any problems with flash, and then, this morning, I turned on my computer, went to youtube.com and the page almost immediately froze.  A message popped up saying that flash had become unresponsive and asked if I wanted to close it.
It does this on any website that tries to load flash content.  I've tried both Chrome and IE.  I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Compaq Presario CQ5300Y PC.
Everything is completely up to date.
    UPDATE:
Last night I ran a virus scan.  3 viruses were found so I quarantined them.  I turned off my computer for a couple of minutes and when I turned it back on, everything had been fixed.  Not only is flash working again, a problem I was having with Skype is also fixed.  So if anyone else is having this problem you might want to do a virus scan.

  • Flash player works on all other browsers besides Safari (6.1). OS is still mountain lion, any suggestions?

Ever since I updated to Safari 6.1, nothing using flash works. It is up to date and will work on all other web browsers.

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
    Not empty the Safari cache.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
    Now try a video.

  • Flash player 11 crashing all my browsers.

I wonder if I updated my flash player from 10 to 11 recently and reinstalled firefox. Then I start getting this error whever I access to any website with flash content.  I thought it was a facebook plugin problem. But I don't think so because I can access facebook.com without problems. Now all flash content are blank. So I uninstall it with an uninstaller, restart computer, and reinstall flash player 11. The error would come up and then freezes. I tried reverted to flash player 10, now I get the same problem.
This error comes up at Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Camino. None of the browsers could play flash content.

I got my own problem solved since nobody on this forum seem to have anything in common.
Just want to share this because this has being causing me a lot of problems:
    1. Adobe Flash Player won't work after install on all browsers.
    2. An Unresponsive script warning came up every time I accessed any websites with flash content or facebook's "like" button that requires sending data to facebook.
    3. Can't watch all online TV streaming that uses flash player.
Anyway. Problems solved 99% after I installed AdBlock Plus add on in Firefox and add a new filter to block anything that is under these locations:
    1. Facebook.com/ai.php?
    2. Facebook.com/plugins/recommendations.
Now, no more freezing when accessing any websites with flash content and facebook plugins. Can watch online TV streaming and play games.
I've got the solution from this page.

  • Flash player crashing in all browsers for live video

The Flash video player is crashing all browsers when I try to watch live video (specifically, live feeds out of Egypt, notably Al Jazeera's live feed).
I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.6, using Safari, Firefox and Chrome browsers. In Chrome, I can hear audio for about 60 seconds - no video - and then it crashes. Safari & Firefox crash almost immediately. They all give me various messages about Flash crashing the browser.
I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player, then re-installed it, rebooted my laptop, etc. I checked all the player settings, and they're apparently set as they should be.
    Any ideas?

The same thing is happening to me in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. I cleared my cache, deleted my flash cookies, and reinstalled Flash. None of those worked to bring it back. It was working on a PC running XP yesterday.

  • Why adobe flash player slows down all browser's performance?

I rememeber longer ago there were problems with flash player plugin inside Mozilla's Firefox browser causing the plugin to crash: Adobe Flash plugin has crashed - Prevent it from happening again | Firefox Help
After a recent update (17,0,0,134) it almost never crash but it slows down all browsers performance untill it finally launches next video. Almost the majority of all news sites use flash player
to launch its' commercial. And it has several such boxes with commercials, for example: www.lrytas.lt
And while I'm listening to music via youtube and on the other tab reading news on that site, when music clip ends and the browser starts to load other music videoclip,
then the whole browser's work is paralysed - I can't write text, cannot scroll down, cannot click any link. All this is because the system is busy while in youtube next clip is loading.
Mouse marker becomes into round rotating circle indicating loading procedure (firefox is not responding). And it takes time - up to 10-15 seconds to launch new video. Then sudenly all my actions is executed after such pause - my text is typed,
my scroll down  and maybe link is pressed. All this slowing down procedure is annoying. It wastes a lot of time. I open task manager and I see that Firefox is taking 900.000 or 1300.000 K of memory. My OS is Windows 7.
I close whole firefox.exe process and then it automatically close plugins. Then I open the browser again and it ask to automatically recover interrupted sites, I agree with it and then it opens everything again. And again
it is working continuously for some time untill slows down browser again. With more tabs more problems. Moreover, view of a video sometimes comes too late too. Some images are lost as system is too late already because
loading procedure took too much resources.
Long long ago flash player was better. But today with a rise of new ****** substandart computers like iphones ipads you have to evolve the player in such a way that it has to play on everything, but its performance on different platforms
    is not the same.
Who is guilty - my PC, Firefox or the plugin? Or maybe I am?
In My Cold Opinion, users actions can't be ignored. The preference should be user's continuous control over a system load.

You are right about high CPU usage. It was even when playing various computer games. I don't have problems anymore. But not because I disabled all addons. I did these things:
In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter. The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
Search for dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode in the list of preferences.
Double-click on the preference to toggle its value from false to true. (If the setting is already true it means that Flash Protected Mode is currently disabled.)
    Close Firefox.
    Restart Firefox.
And since then I don't have that particular problem with overloading. I just disabled some of flash protected mode. How is that related with "overloading"? Strage. Hardware acceleration I've enabled again as without it whole text field in news sites is sometimes black.
    Thanks anyway Mr.

  • My Flash Player stops during all types play. Can anyone Offer some help?

Adobe Flash Player stops during any type of play. YouTube, Live Feed, Videos etc,. All of these will stop after a few seconds. This has nothing to do with buffering it just stops.
I have tried updates to the program (Adobe) no help. I have run this in Chrome and Internet Explorer.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Delet any unwanted or useless files. I also suggest upgrading the RAM to 8GB or a 6GB it if you can't get 8GB. You shouldn't need 16GB of RAM either. If you want a really fast and responsive system, get an SSD as well. Go to www.crucialmemory.com and download their system scanner. All it does is check your system's make, model, year, and hardware configuration and it will bring you to available SSDs and RAM modules for your machine. The RAM is very easy to upgrade and the hard drive is a little more tricky. But there's plenty of videos on youtube to upgrade RAM and hard drive in MacBooks.

Hi Tutench, thanks for starting your thread. I am going to bring the info you posted on the other thread here, so we can have that info. (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/761865?tstart=0)
    same problem here
crashing in all browser  like IE, Chrome and FF
was deinstalling and installing  all drivers updated... running windows xp sp3
    amd athlon 2ghz
    graphic and sound on board.
maybe has something to do with the craphic card ?  thinking to buy a pci card instead of using onboard
any solutions or help please ?
happends when i watch video... says  sry  flash-player crashed  please refresh window
IE  makes a shutdown and restart from the system
    My reply to you there:
Hi to Tutench, You may want to review this thread since that person was having problems similar to yours.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/763525?tstart=0
If you haven't done so yet, you could right click on a youtube video, select Settings and then UNcheck the hardware acceleration under Display Settings. See if that is an improvement.
If none of those suggestions help, then please start a thread and it will be easier to help you. Too confusing when more than one person is on a thread:-)
