Flash Player 9 Playback Problems

Hi all,
I have a problem with Flash Player 9 (FP9) playing certain
videos. Mostly, these videos were recorded using Camtasia. Whenever
I watch them, the video plays fine, but the audio gets off track.
It will be playing along, then it sounds as though someone bumped a
fast forward button, because for a split second, it'll sound like
Alvin and the Chipmunks. A few seconds later, for just a split
second, it'll sound like the speed slowed way down. This continues
throughout the whole video. It causes the audio not to match up with
the video, along with being very annoying...
It does this in IE and Firefox. I uninstalled and
reinstalled it numerous times, but to no avail. I finally installed
Flash Player 8 on Firefox, and it works perfectly. It doesn't do
this on my girlfriend's computer or my computer at work, both which
have FP9 installed. I even just installed a new hard drive, and
installed XP, and it even does it on my new hard drive. I have
tried everything that I can think of, and still the only solution
is to use an earlier version such as 8. Is there something I'm
missing, a plug, a patch, etc. Could it have to do with my
computer? It is a Toshiba L25-S1216. Thanks for listening, or
should I say reading...

Darrin,
This is the first Adobe post I've found where someone in
authority has said it would be fixed. Do you have an estimated time
when? Many of our college students are extremely frustrated because
watching our educational video content is part of the course
homework...it's already been a month into the semester and the
sound tracks are too annoying (because of FlashPlayer 9.0.115.0)
for them! We can only advise them to uninstall and reinstall an
earlier version, at their own risk, because there seems to be many
issues with that process, as well. This has been a nightmare for so
many of our instructors and students at Nashville State Community
College. Please please take down the FlashPlayer 9.0.115.0 until
you can provide a better one because right now you're just
spreading the invasion of alien sounds.

Thanks for the helpful posting. I came searching here for advice because I could not get my Flash Player 9 installation to succeed using the trouble-shooting information provided on the Adobe web site, and from experience I have come to know that my best resource in trouble-shooting is to seek the help of other Mac users.
In following your instructions I discovered that "Enable Flash" was not checked in my preferences, so that was definitely part of the problem. However, I still could not get Flash Player 9 to work, so after doing a Google search I found a posting on Version Tracker (under feedback at the bottom of this page: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11622 ) that provided the last little bit of instruction I needed to get Flash Player 9 to function properly.
Before attempting to install Flash Player 9 I had used Adobe's uninstaller to uninstall previous versions, as instructed on the Adobe website. However, AFTER repairing my disk permissions, I needed to restart the computer and run the uninstaller again. After uninstalling I restarted once more, ran the installer and, VOILA!, finally Flash Player 9 worked as it should.

  • Flash player youtube problem

Ok guys, this one is a bit more complicated than it sounds. A while back I was using a older version of Fox, I think v 15.xxx and had flash player 11 or 12. When using youtube it looked great. But now I upgraded to the latest firefox and latest flash player. When I watch vids on youtube they look real blurry and pixelated until the 720 hd kicks in. And even then it doesn't look as good and with the older flash player. I checked and my nvidia card doesn't seem to have any effect on either program. Is this a legit problem and which flash player version should I switch back to??

    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.

  • Flash Player plugin problem - win 7 64 bit - Firefox 15.0.1

I have problems with Ff showing flash videos. Flash player is version 11.4.402.278 (latest that I could find). The videos play without problems when having Firefox in "safe mode". I've tried to figure out if there is some of extensions that's causing the problem but any of extensions do this. I checked them one by one, without solution. So, only cause I can think of is the default theme of Firefox, because it is disabled in safe mode.
Tried also Flash 10.3, but it did nod work either. How can I test in normal mode, if it's the default theme that's causing the problem?

    Hi 2cv6,
try to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-extensions-themes-to-fix-problems#w_turn-off-hardware-acceleration Turn off hardware acceleration in Firefox ]and "disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player too :

  • BBC Embedded Flash Player - Playback Error

    When trying to view video content on the BBC Online websites using an embedded player, I receive the following error regardless of what browser/OS I use;
This content doesn't seem to be working. Please try again later.
    The Flash Player detailed error information reads;
    Error code : 1024
    Severity : critical
Description : No further playback is possible following a mediation error
    Responsibility : MediaSelector
Could anyone advise a solution to this problem? I have Flash Player 16.0.0.305 installed.

I have this exact same issue.  I've recently built 3 computers for friends, this one I'm typing from being the third.
They're all using windows 7 64bit, all have the same hardware and the same basic software. I've built them about a month apart and the first 2 work perfectly.  This last one is having nothing but troubles with the exact issues described by the O.P. except my issues are across all browsers.
IE will play all youtube videos WITHOUT FLASH, but I can't play videos from a site like Steam.  So when I put in the newest flash player everything goes to pot.  Oddly enough though I will be able to play videos on steam, but that's because steam videos only have 1 resolution and don't try to auto-adjust.  Youtube starts to cycle through resolutions, restarting each time, before finally just quitting and giving an error message.  Again this happens in both FF and IE (I won't put the spyware known as chrome on any machine).
I've tried every fix and solution I can find for 2 days now and I'm at my wit's end.  If I see one suggestion for hardware acceleration I'm going to snap! lol.  No spyware, no malware, tried hardware acceleration, tried the official uninstall tool, have uninstalled both browsers (diabled IE from the control panel, I realize that it can't be uninstalled per se), have deleted cookies, deleted a specific windows update that someone mentioned was corrupt. I've done the hokey pokey, sacrificed a goat, thrown salt over my shoulder, and eaten a spoonful of sugar.
I'm about ready to try a fresh install.  I just cannot figure out why this computer is having so many problems with flash and every other computer I've done in the last year and a half (around 12) has gone smooth as silk.

  • Flash Player 10 Problem: Blank Screen

I just uploaded to flash player ten. I'm using Wndows Vista and Internet Explorer.
When on Youtube, half the time the video screen just loads a black, blank screen. If I refresh, SOMETIMES the video will then load properly. Using the "Watch this in a pop up window) seems to work, although the video quality appears degraded).
Curiously, when I get the blank, black window, any attempt to post comments bounces you to the login screen, even though I'm already logged in.
When on Hulu, I will sometimes get the emssage "I line in java script is causing this video to play slowly and may cause your computer to stop responding".
I've also had I.E. stop working and close abruptly. This "Black video window" screen is happening on other sites as well.
None of these problems were happening until I upgraded to flash player ten. Is there ANY sort of fix for this? I've heard that downgrading to flash player 9 doesn't neccessarily resolve the problem.
I've tried uninstalling, rebooting, and installing again. Still get the same problem.
As a side note; silverlight got dumped onto my computer during a windows upgrade. I removed it, and am hoping there isn't a connection. Registry issue?!?!

Correction; the hulu message was "A line in script (not Java, I believe) connected to adobe flash player is affecting playback and may cause your computer to become unresponsive".

  • Flash player installation problem on MAC

I have repeatedly tried to download and install Flash player v14 for my MacBook Pro and it constantly hangs at the "Retrieving Install" screen never moving past 0%. Then it times out and says the install has failed. I have also completely wiped old versions of Flash from my system (now NO Flash-enabled sites will work at all--even more frustrating).
    Any clues to remedy? Thanks.

The new Adobe Flash 14 installer does not work when you have an automatic proxy set. I've installed many versions of Flash on Mac without problems, but the new v.14 installer would never even start the download. (Of course the installer dmg would download, but when I ran the installer app, the download of Flash would not start, seemingly hanging at "Retrieving Installation"). I tried the uninstaller, which worked great. Then I tried installing v.13, which also worked fine. But I only got v.14 to install after I ... went to System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies and de-selected Automatic Proxy Configuration. Be sure to make a note of your Automatic Proxy URL, because after installing Flash and going back to the network Preference, I saw that the Automatic Proxy Configuration field was blank. But when I re-entered my APC URL, and clicked to select APC, all was well and I had flash installed while still able to browse external web sites when behind my companies firewall.

  • Is there a fix for a Flash Player compatibility problem?.

My computer is a imac g4 1.25 Ghz 17 inch flat panel running OS X 10.4.11 and can no longer view anything on the internet that uses the newest version of flash player.  I have tried to upgrade to that version but it won't work on my computer. When I try to download it I get this message "Devices with powerpc processors are no longer supported." Is there a fix for this?

You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. The first one on the list, Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work.
    It works for me.

  • Flash Player installation problems with Windows Embedded (WES/XPe)

I've deployed 13 HP T5740 Thin Clients at my office, each have Windows Embedded Standard (WES/XPe) and with Internet Explorer 7.
With limitations on VMWare servers and sound, users need to view webinars on their local client. When I try to install any version of Adobe Flash Player, the installation instantly fails...no reason given.
Is there a known issue with this? And is there a workaround?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

It's not working at the mo and it says under run without permissions - Shockwave Flash Object Enabled version 0.0.0.1
Just tried to download version 10.2.153.1 and now the download manager opens but then just 'hangs' - nothing happens.
On Firefox, version 10.2.153.1 installed and enabled OK. No problem playing clips with Firefox.

  • Flash Player sound problems on a 5.1 system

I don't know if i found the right topic for asking for this question, but here it goes.
I noticed that flash player has this issue with my 5.1 system, when i play music (and i mean any music, like my online radio, played through flash, or music through the site VK.com), the sound is extremely awful. Words actually can't explain it, there is no bass, and the sound, overall, seems to be of very low quality. But it's not. When the same music is played via stereo system (any), it seems to be perfect - with bass and etc.
Now i'm really confused. It's either a problem of flash, or a problem of somewhat in my system. My guess is that flash simply does not support audio output rather than 2.0. I will be really grateful if anyone will at least point me in the direction of the source of this problem; it makes my life miserable. Thank you.

Is it possible to have e version of flash player like silverlight which give thepossibility to hear audio on whole 5.1 system?
I have the following system computer:
Case: Thermaltake Mozart; PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 750W; MainBoard: Asrock 4coredual-sata2; Heatsink: ZeroTherm Zen120; CPU: Core2 Extreme X6800 3,2Ghz; RAM: OCZ Platinum DDR400, 2x1 GB; GPU: Sapphire HD3850 AGP; PPU: BFG Ageia; HDD1: WD Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS; HDD2: WD WD2000BB; Monitor: Asus VB175T 17" 5:4; Audio System: danneggiato, in corso di sostituzione; OS: Xp Professional Sp3; Browser: Srware Iron.

  • Flash Player having problems while playing online games on OS X Mavericks

i use mbp mid 2010 with os x mavericks 10.9.2 and while playing online games, it usually happens some freezes and delays. when i play same game with same browser on windows 7(bootcamp) there is no freeze and delay. i have made lots of search about this and made some optimizations on flash player settings but the problem continues. i use both chrome and firefox on both mavericks and win7 (bootcamp) but having the same problems on mavericks every time. the game is very slow with freeze and delays on mavericks. will adobe make a real effective upgrade about flash player for macs.

Hmmm... Win 7 will run faster than Mavericks with 8Gb. Even my Vm of 7 runs faster once I get it past all the startup processes.
It may or may not be a connectivity problen since Windows uses a different protocol, even though it's on the same hardware. Usually though, what affects OS X will affect BootCamp too.
    What browser?

  • Adobe flash player security problem

    Hello bodies
I have problems with ExternalInterface and navigateToURL,
How can I avoid flash player to show this box?
when I've already enabled this setting
Also I've checked some flash banners and disabled options above for test and they worked fine anyway
I want to make my script work even if users has disabled those options above.
I don't want when using ExternalInterface flash player to throw these alerts also
    Please Help

For you to override that securioty alert you need to add the location to that second interface you showed.  So you could add the "C:\Documents and Settings\George\Desktop" to that lcurrently empty list.
That security applies to local file usage.  So if you have this file deployed on the internet, people should not have the issue you are having.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Problem.

Alright everyone, this issue has been bugging me for so damn LONG!!!!!
    The problem is:
I'm trying to make my Adobe Flash Player 10 to work in my Mozilla Firefox because a certain website is asking for my flash player to get updated to 10. I've both installed from the adobe download manager and the direct link, I've also got the ActiveX installed and it's updated and I've unistalled the previous versions, only the flash player 10 is installed. I'm running on a Windows XP and I have no idea how to fix this situation... it won't load whatsoever!
    Please would anyone help me.

Hi, "finally replying"? LOL, maybe I'm in a different time zone? Just to clarify, contrary to what some may think, I am not an Employee of Adobe nor Microsoft. I am just an end user as yourself, taking my time to help those that are having problems.
Since you stated that Adobe Flash Player is not working for you in either Internet Explorer or Firefox, then I am going to suggest to you a thread that has the latest instructions by a very knowledgeable person. He has helped many users on this forum.
