Flash player always using software video decoding in Mac Mini 2011 w/HD6630M

Hello,
I have Mac Mini 2011 model with AMD Radeon HD6630M graphics.
Everything works perfectly on my system..games, videos in VLC,Quicktime..
Only problem is flash videos on youtube are always using software video decoding but using accelerated video rendering
Even in full screen or window mode its always the same!
I've tried all browsers..Opera, FireFox, Chrome, Safari..all have the same issue!
Even re-installed OS X Mavericks. Same Result!
I've used flash 11.9 & the Beta 12.xx as well..ran the flash uninstaller..nothing it just says the same!
I've checked the Hardware acceleration box & everything. Nothing seems to work!!
Seems to be an issue in Flash player with AMD graphics cards on OSX??
Please FIX!
What else am I supposed to do?? Please FIX your app!

Well i have about 30 days left before the return period is up for the Marantz. I just did a complete restore of my mac mini just about an hour ago. I havent noticed the problem yet but I've only been using it for an hour or so.
I suppose using it without my Marantz would be a good idea. If i see the screen flash out again now, i'll try just connecting to the tv and painfully suffer through the audio on my tv speakers. lol

  • Flash Player can't resume video stream after 5 mins inactivity

When viewing streamed videos on a guitar tutorial website, if I pause for 5 minutes or more (to practice) I can't continue playing the video. When I click play it says 'loading' but just stays like that continually, or until the window is refreshed. The site uses real time streaming, not progressive downloading.
So I guess the connections timed out and been dropped after 5 minutes of inactivity, is this right? If so, has it been dropped by the server or by the player. Can it be configured at either end to stop this, or to lengthen the time before it happens. Thanks, John
    Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, 32 bit

    Flash Player WIN 10,3,181,26

Hi John, If you didn't turn off that hardware acceleration, I certainly would do so. This reverts from GPU rendering back to software rendering. This has been recommended with several of the last versions of Flash Player. Also updating the video card or video card driver to the latest version. That is needed for the hardware acceleration to work.
Now this link is from Microsoft and it is for IE9. However, the basics discuss GPU/Software rendering and graphics, etc and that would apply to IE, since FP contains this technology.
It may be on the server end, but I tend to think it's the above due to what's involved.
Let me know what you find out.
One other thing that may be overlooked and that is some addon in the browsers. A common one since all browsers are being effected. Certain addons/plugins can conflict with that Shockwave Flash Object that is used by Flash Player. You might take a look and see if there is a common one. You can rule out Microsoft & Adobe and most of Java. Anti-Virus addons would need a close look.

  • Having problem installing Win7 using Bootcamp on Mac Mini 2011

I'm trying to install Win7 using bootcamp on my new Mac Mini 2011. I first partitionned the disc using Bootcamp assistant. Then during Win7 installation I select Partition 4 BOOTCAMP, format it to NTFS, then when I try to select the drive, it says that the drive is not compatible for the installation.
    Is there anything I missed???
    Thanks

I had a similar problem when I selected upgrade instead of complete install. I want to make sure your aware that you should click the complete option instead of upgrade when you reach that portion of the win7 install. Then you need to select part ion 4 like you have stated and format it to ntfs.
But it seems that you've already done all of that. My advice would be to go back to the Mac side, restore the partition using bootcamp and again partition it. You need at least 25gb of space for 64 bit. I would recommend using at least 40gb. Just trying to help. I apologize if I misunderstood your problems. But make sure you click on the opposite choice of upgrade, I did my mini last night lol but I can't remember the exact name of the option I think it's complete, then select part 4 and click format....

  • Does flash player (latest) use GPU while loading videos from HD

i am using flash player to load several videos in an event over keys press, in my last event some videos got stuck while playing. i am using AS3 with loader.load code for swf which contain flv player with path embed in it.
I was playing my event with Intel i7 4th Gen (i7-4771, CPU 3.5 GHz) with 20GB DDR3 RAM & GPU NVIDIA GTX 760.
the answer i need is what if i was using NVIDIA Quadro K1100M (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated)
is flash player using GPU, if yes then GTX series or QUADRO series, which one is better?
    thank you

    Hi,
You cannot request a file from a UNC path in Flash directly. In fact, this is not possible in HTML either. This might work locally, but will not work when the SWF is published.
I recomment that you look into your server configuration. Ideally, you would have your Flash application request a file from http://www.someserver.com/myfile.flv. Then in your server configurations, you redirect this request to your network share.
A word of caution: be sure to set appropriate permissions on these folders.
This is a document that should get you started if you're using IIS:

  • I have a Mid 2009 Macbook Pro 13 with no restore disk; it has OS 10.8.4 I believe there is something wrong with the OS due to I can not install flash player to view Youtube videos and the when we plug in a Bose headset the sound out will work sometimes

I bough a used Macbook Pro mid 2009 that came with OS 10.8.9 it didn't have a backup restore disk with S/N W8******66D
When trying to view some youtube videos; a window would pop up saying "it needs adobe flash player is required for video play back get the latest flash player" but after downloading the file and during installation would have errors and will not installed.....tried to reboot and install again.....but still the same.
The othe thing I had noticed is when using a good Bose headset with mic the sound output would noticed the headset and then switch from headset to Internal speekers and headset.....thinking that there might be something wrong with the plug in port of the computer or the headset.....the headset works with no issues on my iPad so there must be something wrong with the computer.....tried to move the plugin around the port but no change....while the headset is plug in can hear a short clicking noise and the sound would get lost and back again......but with nothing plugin to the port there is no issue with the sound or mic.
Thanks for your feed back......it looks like I have two different issues one is a software issue and the outher is a hardware issue

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

You have 2 versions of "Shockwave Flash" (Adobe Flash Player) installed; one very old version (7.0 r19) and the current version (10.0 r45). You can see both "Shockwave Flash" plugins by going to Tools > Add-ons > Plugins. You can disable the old version 7 there.
    <u>'''To disable the old version'''</u>:
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Using+plugins+with+Firefox#Managing_plugins
    <u>'''Remove the old plugin'''</u>
    1. If the old version 7 is showing as "Adobe Flash Player 7 Plugin" in your Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, you can remove it from there; click on it, click Remove. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Uninstall-or-change-a-program
    2. If the old version 7 is not shown in Add or Remove programs, see: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins#Manually_uninstalling_a_plugin . Some of the old plugins are in the Plugins folder of your programs Firefox install folder and can be renamed or removed from there manually.

  • After installing Adobe Flash Player Plugin to view videos on youtube, mozilla gets hangs intermittently. Please help

I installed Firefox 23.0.1 and after that It asked me to install Flash Player Plugin to view videos on Youtbe. I installed Flash Player 11 Plugin and since then Mozilla started hanging/freezing intermittently. It hangs on those websites also where videos are not running.
I uninstalled Flash Player 11 Plugin and it works smoothly without it.
    Please help

This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common reasons for Flash problems in Firefox:
    (1) Make sure all recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode (Windows Vista/7/8)

  • How to Improve Adobe Flash Player to watch this video

When I wanted to watch Man City vs Chelsea live stream via http://footballity.blogspot.com/2013/08/man-city-live-stream-free.html , there is a message "You need to improve your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video" so anybody can help me..

Well going by your standards then the blackberry playbook is just as useless since there is no native contacts app or email app.  If you want that you will also have to have a blackberry phone that is capable of tethering using the blackberry bridge app (if allowed by AT&amp;T and Verizon since that would be another fee technically you might be charged for since you will be tethering your phone to you tablet).
Funny how I and many others are able to get by using the iPad and we don't have flash.  The majority of people if the want to view flash will try Skyfire, iSwifter, Cloudbrowse, or will look to see if there is an app already dedicated to that thing you want to watch, like ABC Player or CNN.
Hey if doesn't work for you then it doesn't work for you.  I am not trying to come off as an Apple fanboy, just trying to make sure you are informed about your product and what options are out there.
Would it be nice if flash was allowed native......sure.  But it isn't so you can either get rid of the product, get an app that supports it (we are talking about spending $2 - $4) or go buy something else and hope your happy with it as well.  You can't please everyone.  Apple has chosen their stance and as you can see by sales numbers they aren't hurting.  Infact i just read about a week or so ago on Gizmodo.com that alot of the other tablet making companies are cutting back on the number of units they will be making due to low sales or projected low sales (you can thank the iPad sales for that).  Your one purchase isn't going to impact them that much.  Instead, someone else will be standing in line behind you ready and happy to get their apple product.

  • Issue with latest Flash Player version when replaying videos

I am using an older version of JWplayer "5.10.2295" in a lot of sites and it was working fine so far. Since the latest version of Flash Player came out the videos can't be played a second time on any browser on Windows. It is working fine for me on Mac - quickly tested in Firefox (Nightly) and Safari (latest stable).
Reverting to an older version showed that everything was working fine before. I tried the latest 13 and 14 from Archived Flash Player versions
Has this kind of issue been reported already? Any change in the upcoming beta that might fix this?
    Thanks,

I have the exact same problem and I am going in circles trying to install and use Flash Player. But nothing seems to work. Now I cannot watch ANY videos on Youtube, I cannot use Google Maps (Street View), Pandora Radio is kaput, and so.
I used to get the same notice:
You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
But now I don't even get that. Just a black box and nothing else. This is ridiculous.

  • Firefox 12 flash player not working with video on Facebook

Using Firefox 12, newest flash player 32 bit -- embedded video won't work on Facebook. I have tried another computer with XP SP3, completely removed firefox, flash, started in safe mode with add ons disabled, even created a new profile with no addons at all, and nothing seems to fix the problem. Video plays fine in Internet Explorer. That said, YouTube works fine so I don't think its a flash 'only' problem. (I right clicked on video to make sure flash was playing the video and not html 5.)

Is the Flash player loaded if you right-click that black box where the player should be?
Does it help if you try to "Disable the hardware acceleration" in the Flash Player?

    Hi,
I've installed Lion after which Flash Player won't play videos with Safari. I keep being prompted to download and install the latest version of Flash Player whcih I've done several times. Can someone please help me fix this.
I find Adobe's announcement that there are no issues with Flash Player and Lion a bit of a sick joke.

This sounds like the problems that Adobe have reported which are listed at
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html#main_Flash_Player
I only use flash for watching video clips on the BBC website so haven't been affected by these other issues. The text below is copied from the website at the above link. Hope this helps.
The Flash Player Settings dialog box doesn't respond to mouse clicks. As a workaround, press the Tab key to move to the Close button and press the spacebar to close the dialog box. While not all settings are available, you can also use the Flash Player native control panel in System Preferences.
