Flash Player audio setting in Win'7 Volume Control

OS is Win'7, up to date.  Flash Player is 11.4.  Browsers Firefox 15.0.1, Chrome 22, IE 9.  When playing a video on a website, the Flash Player volume setting in Volume Control (Windows Mixer) is set to the maximum, same as my speaker volume.  How can I permanently set Flash Player's volume to a setting lower than that of my speakers?

This is a known issue in Firefox and Flash Player 11.3 or higher, but our testing (and I just personally re-tested it on my Win7 machine to double-check) indicates that this works as expected in Chrome and Internet Explorer.
There's a public bug tracking the Firefox issue here, and we have a corresponding internal bug assigned to an engineer for investigation:
https://bugbase.adobe.com/#bug=3210602
1.) Use Chrome or Internet Explorer with the latest Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
2.) Revert to the most recent version of Flash Player 10.3 (Currently 10.3.183.25), which you can download here:
     http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
Before reverting, you'll need to uninstall the current version of Flash Player first:
     http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
If you *are* having the same problems with Chrome or MSIE, can you give me a clear, step-by-step description of how to reproduce the issue?  It's possible that we're doing something differently, or there's another component like audio drivers in-play.
Thanks!

  • No Flash Player Audio

I've lost Flash Player Audio. To hopefully fix, I downloaded Flash Player 11 ActiveX Ver. 11.8.800.175 and got an "Installation Complete". However, the Flash Player Checker at adobe.com tells me when I do a "Check Now" that it is "Not Installed". I uninstalled and downloaded 3 times, but still get the "Not Installed" message. I continue to get video but no audio. My browser is Internet Explorer Ver. 10 and my OS is Windows 7. Please let me know what you think I should do to get back the audio?
    Thanks,    Rob

    Hello C.F. McBlob,
I was previously getting sound from an MP3 App when I lost sound with Flash Player. I subsequently checked for sound with the MP3 App and was still getting sound. At that point I wrongly deducted my sound problem was with Flash Player. Well, the real cause of my problem turns out to be an intermittent operational problem with my speakers which I made a bandaid repair to after my dog chewed through the very fine speaker wire a year or so ago. I think its about time I spend $20 and get some new speakers. Thanks to your reply, I once again checked for sound with other apps and discovered my speakers were the problem. I will withdraw my post. Thank you and everyone else who took the time to read and think about my post.
    Regards,  Rob

  • Flash player audio and vidio out of sync

flash player audio and vidio out of sync. audio lags 2 seconds behind vidio. this is a flash player or silverlighr problem. please help.

A lot of times it's in the video itself. A great example of it is "Tarantula", a 1955 "B" horror movie, on YouTube. About twenty minutes inti the film the audio suddenly drops about eight seconds behind the video. This happens when a video converter (software) requires more processor or RAM than the system converting it has available.
If it only happens with certain videos, it' what I've described above and there's really nothing that can be done about it.
If it happens with ALL videos you're watching, try right clicking, choosing "Settings", and under the far left tab, "Enable hardware acceleration"

  • Flash Player 10.1 doesn't remember volume setting, defaults to MAX

Hi, since updating to Flash Player
10.1, all flash videos now default to max volume, whereas before it would remember the last volume setting from video to video.
How do I get the player to remember the volume setting, or how may I download an earlier version?
I have Vista 64-bit running 32-bit Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18943 and 32-bit Firefox 3.6.10.  The problem is present in both browsers.
It's a freakin' pain to remember to quickly turn down the sound on every single video I watch before I get blown out.

    Hello Forum Users et al,
I know this Updated Post follows shortly after my previous post, but I have a useful piece of info. that others may wish to check on.
I have been using a video:  www.video.com/12348372 as my test case for which the video comes on and then proceeds to not work.  If I click on the "arrow" in the bottom left corner of the video, the video screen goes "black" and nothing happens immediately.  But, here is the important information.  If I wait, then the video reappears, but sounds alternately starts and stops.
What I did for the last several hours was to minimize the email containing the video, and I noticed that the sound alternately came on and off.  But, after over two hours, the video started to play normally (total time for video is about 4 mins.)  When it gets to the end, the original "start arrow" appears.  I have repeatedly played this video after the two-hour period of erratic play, and it played normally.
This event happened one time over a week ago when I was on "Live Chat" with Adobe FP.  I was reporting my problem with FP with Mang Son while I had the video minimized, and, embarrassingly, the video started to work normally!  What could I say?!  I told him essentially that it looked like it was working, and I closed it out.  However, after this, I closed the email containing the video and tried to open the video from scratch, again.  Once again, it started to play erratically, even though it mysteriously was playing normally while I was on "Live Chat".
Users may want to use the video that I cited and see what happens.  It is still a mystery why the video won't work for hours and then all of a sudden start working.  I also had similar trouble with YouTube videos.
    Best regards,
    bookwilliam

I use Chrome, Safari, Mizolla firefox, and IE on my computer.  The currrent version of Adobe Flash Player is loaded on to all of them.  It has operated without problems.  Then suddenly the audio has stopped working.  Why would this happen, and how do I get the audio to resume?

So far as I know (not that I know much!) there wouldn't be
    anything in the
new Flash beta player to fix this. You will get better
    results, however, if
you reduce the quality settings for your published files.
    Doing so should
reduce the published file size, making better use of limited

  • When streaming Vid with flash player, audio and video are not in sync

With Flash 11.6, audio and video are not in sync. Video is slower. Using Firefox 20.0.1

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
[[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]

  • No Flash Player Audio on YouTube

I have W7, MIE9.  I have no audio on any youtube selection.  I have uninstalled/reinstalled flashplayer numerous times with no success.  I just went through all the suggestions on Adobe's website with no success.  When I select youtube I momentarily get a msg saying I need Flash Player to view this site.  My email is [email protected]

To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
    Flash   Player version
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    Windows
    Mac
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5     video
    Non-HTML5 video
If audio won't work with either link, I'd suggest taking a look at your Windows sound mixer and verify that Internet Explorer isn't muted.

  • Flash player audio problem mac book pro due to new 11.7.700.169 update

I started having all kinds of freezing/crashing issues with both safari and ff on my macbook pro, os x 10.6.8. Then I even started having trouble starting up and shutting down. I wasn't getting any error messages and after trouble-shooting everything I could think of in my hardware and finally realized it started happening after I downloaded this latest update. • Flash player audio chirps and video delays

When playing recorded videos the audio "chirps" and sounds
like a tape deck with the speed varying. The video is anywhere from
1 to 3 seconds behind the audio.

Found this in Techsmith's Camtasia forum, dated 1-10-08,
posted by one of the Camtasia developers:
"We've also been working with Adobe Flash Player TechSupport,
who has been very responsive and helpful. They have confirmed the
bug, and escalated it as a high priority issue to their engineers.
We're hoping that it can be fixed in a future version of the Flash
    Player."

  • Flash PLayer Audio Quality Issue

    Howdy,
I am having a strange issue where I am hearing quality issues in the playback of sound on any flash content (youtube etc ..). The background music or backing tracks all play fine, but the Vocals / Voices in the video are quiet and distorted.  The best way to explain it is, that I can hear the music on a music video ... but the words that the artist is singing aren't there.
    Strange ....
I am running Windows 7 64-bit prof. on a brand new machine.
    i7 X980X
    12 gig memory
Realtex onboard sound from an EVGA X58 motherboard.
I have tried clearing and re-installing the installs, codec packs ... etc ... additionally this problem is present any time I play flash content in any browser or with a stand alone flash player.
Also, my sound works fine in games and local audio. And it passes all the surround sound tests, so I am sure the cables are hooked up appropriately.
    Any thoughts ?
    Thx !

Sadly, none of those seemed to help.
I was able to track down the issue. I have a new graphics card, and GTX 580
with HDMI support. It also installs an audio driver so it can pull out the
audio and send it out the HDMI port to a monitor with speakers / TV .. etc.
Once I disabled those drivers, everything started working normally. It was
    some very strange symptoms.
    Thanks,
    C

  • Flash Player Audio Channel Problem

Hi,I just signed up and  I couldn't post this in the normal flash player section because it was grayed out. The problem came with the new update I think, now whenever I'm watching youtube or another website that uses flash its sending audio out of all my speakers. I have 5.1 surround sound, before it would only use the 2 channels if the audio track was stereo. Now it sounds strange because its splitting the audio into t he maximum number of channels I have. When I put on my surround headset its splitting a stereo sound into 7.1 channels. So each time its using all channels available instead of using whats correct for the audio track.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? or do I wait for an update?

    AT LONG LAST!! a reply!

  • Flash Player Audio Failure

Hello all. I am running Windows XP.I recently restored my computer to it's original settings. I did this because I got a virus and my anti-virus was unable to remove it. I now have all my updates installed on my computer. Whenever I visit a site that uses flash player settings, you know, if you go to a site and it asks permission to access your mic/cam, my audio is not heard on the other end. (Nothing to do with not being able to see or hear youtube videos.)
I am sure it has to do something with Adobe Flash Player though. I test my audio and it works fine on my pc. It works fine on aim. I have been searching the web before coming here and have tried a some things. A few things I have tried are:
    http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402691.html
I have also tried installing some codecs. I would really appreciate some help here and my audio worked previously before restoring my computer. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Do I need Flash player plug-in with Win 7 Pro and IE11?

    Could I have a definitive yes/no answer to, "Do I need a flash player plug-in when I am using 64 bit Windows 7 Professional SP1 and IE11?"
    I am using IE11 v.11.0.9600.16476
    Flash v.12.0.0.38
I am not, as far as I can see, have any problems viewing anything. But Adobe insist I should be using Flash v.12.0.0.43 and they identify my browser as Gecko.
I understand that Gecko is usually identified as Firefox but is it correctly identified as IE?
Windows 8.1 with IE11 states that it is a plug-in less browser; but is Windows 7 with IE11 plug-in less or not...???
    Very confusing!

If you go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ while using Internet Explorer your browser should be noted as MSIE.  If not you have something wrong with your system.  You may have some malware on
your system to cause a false indication.
I am using IE11 and when I use Adobe it identifies my browser as Gecko and not MSIE.
    Mozilla/5.0 (IE 11.0; Windows NT 6.3; Trident/7.0; .NET4.0E; .NET4.0C; rv11.0) like Gecko
By the way my system is clear of malware.
May I ask again do use the version of flash that Adobe says is compatible with IE or the version that is for plugin based browsers? Or to put it another way is IE11 in Win 7 a plugin less browser?

  • Flash Player audio format compatability

I'm working on a web site which will host Quicktime movies of
an instructional nature. For organizational and aesthetic reasons,
I'd like to use a flash-based media player w/ a playlist to present
these videos, and because the nature of these videos deals with
audio production, the audio cannot be compressed; i.e. it must be
16-bit 44.1KHz (or better) PCM audio, not AAC or mp3.
The problem I'm having is that none of the flash-based media
players I've tried will play uncompressed audio. In all three of
the players I've tried, AAC and mp3 audio work fine, but
uncompressed PCM audio does not. It doesn't matter if the audio is
embedded in a QT video or is a standalone file; only compressed
audio can be heard. If a video has a PCM track, the video plays
back silently. If I try to include a .wav file in the playlist, the
    file is just skipped over.
Is there something I'm missing? Does Flash player not support
PCM audio? Is this a function of the particular players I've been
trying to use? i.e. does PCM audio require some special coding? Or
is this something inherent in Flash player?
    Thanks,
    -Dan.

urami_, please be careful - he asked about 16bit UNCOMPRESSED
    PCM, as
it was described in the threadstarting post! ADPCM is a
    compressed
format, which really is not recommended for use in FLV. It's
    strange
that PCM is not supported, as it is declared in the FLV
    specification.
