I use Mozilla Firefox on a Windows 8 OS. I installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.6, but the content on my page won't pull up. I have one of those spinning circles that just keeps going around and round, but never actually comes up. And, if it does come up, the pictures and content won't show. I uninstalled and the re-installed Flash and Java last night. I checked my add-ons, and they're ok. One thing I noticed is that in the task manager, where it shows "Adobe Flash Player Automatic Updates", it is stopped. Every time I restart it, it won't stay in start, it keeps stopping, but I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Please Help!! I'm an online student and have exams due TODAY!! I really need to be able to pull up the content of the exams so I don't lose points for turning in late work. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

I don't know what is causing your problems with Firefox, but if you need to see Flash content I suggest that you use IE10 with the built-in Flash Player. -

Each time when I enable Shockwave Flash Object 11.1.102.55 add-on in IE9 it does not allow to load the page and show a message to recover the page and even sometimes browser got crashes. When I disable the Shockwave Flash Object 11.1.102.55 page loaded without flash and works fine.
I have installed Google Chrome and flash is working fine in Google Chrome browser but I need IE9 as most of my application IE9 supporting.
My system configuration is as follows
- OS : Windows Vista 32 Bit with SP2
- Browser : IE 9
- Antivirus: Kaspersky Internet Security
Below are some steps which I have taken to resolve this issue but no success:
- Uninstalled the IE 9 and found the same issue in IE 8
- Enable the ActiveX filter but after that page works fine but flash image will not display
Kindly let me know if you required any log files or information to solve this issue. I need help from adobe to solve my system problem. I have considered above steps also given by you but no use. I have log an issue with https://bugbase.adobe.com/ but not get proper response.

Did you recently upgrade Flash from 12 to 13?<br>
There have been issues reported with the 13.0.0.182 version of the Flash plugin crashing on some older Mac computers due to the compiler generating incompatible code.
The only way to recover is to uninstall the Flash 13 version and revert to an older Flash version and wait for Adobe to release an update that addresses this issue.

Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1, Flash is ok in Chrome.
I go to Youtube and play a video in Firefox and the image is scrabbled; pixelated shows a lot of green and screws up the whole system, if I use chrome flash is fine. The Firefox version is 12.0.0.44, I have tried earlier versions but I get the same result.
This is most annoying because Firefox is my main browser.Chrome has ha separate plug-in from Firefox. Functions independently of it. Green screen (in Windows) is almost always caused by out dated or corrupted video drivers. Not something common to Macs since the hardware is proprietary, and the Drivers are in the BSD subsystem.
Gotta ask, how come you haven't run the 10.8.5 update? It came out October 14. -

I have a desktop pc with OS windows 7. I used daily firefox about 7 hours and more. Everytime i open firefox and go for the search page like youtube and videos sites an authorization noticed me to confirm to Allow adobe flash player. And also open a new tab and go the video sites also asks the same everytime i switced allow to adobe flash player to works. How i resolve this problem. And how to switch always adobe flash player to be on.
Your Shockwave Flash plugin probably is set to "Ask to Activate" (which means, click to play). You could try switching it to "Always Activate" on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins.
If Firefox only offers the options of "Ask to Activate" and "Never Activate" then most likely the version you have is on the "block list." This is a regularly updated list of add-ons that are either out-of-date or malicious. If you can approve the plugin to run as needed, then it is a "soft block" that eventually will turn into a hard block where you will not be able to enable it at all.
I realize Flash 11.3 and higher can create a lot of problems in Firefox. Most of these are due to the protected mode feature. If you eventually have to update, the following pages provide different ways to disable the feature:

Thanks for responding Chris. Flash Player consistently crashes no matter what site I am in. I've tried all of the suggested fixes in Flash Player help and nothing has been successful. The computer confirms that I have downloaded the most recent file but Adobe Flash Player doesn't show in the Firfox Add Ons. I also tried Firefox flash player suggestions but none worked. It crashes no matter what page I am on. If flash player is required, it crashes. It also crashes in Internet Explorer. I am a novice so please bear with me. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Which version of Flash Player do you have installed, and are you running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Home, Linux, Ubuntu, Fedora, or do you have an Apple Mac? Thanks.Thanks for the assistance Chris. I tried the 11.7 option without success. I downloaded the 11.7 file, I closed all browsers, used the flashplayer uninstaller, restarted the CPU, installed the 11.7 (with auto updates disabled). Restarted Firefox, tested a Flickr video, same "no-play" results.
However, after doing the same thing and downloading the Archive version http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.75_archive.z ip I was able to play the Flickr videos! WooHoo.
I completed the update process to the latest version, and now the videos play properly with the latest version!
Not sure what the bad actor was, the 11.7 version did not fix it, but the older 10.3 version did!

Hello. I am a system administrator to park more than 200 computers, on my initiative, each of them set firefox. Internet access in our company through a proxy server with authentication and this makes it extremely difficult to update Flash Player automatically. And since the firefox happens regularly hysteria about the update flash player to constantly update it manually. Because the user can not simply go to the site and perform the tasks he needs fayrfoks blocks flash player and it's a huge problem. I can not go into the settings and add-ons to install fayrfoks always run flash player because this item is inactive. I'm ready to update fleshpleer every six months or at the time when it is really needed. But update it every month is absolutely inadequate and furthermore creates problems all around, and these problems are much greater than those that may arise as a consequence of violations of imaginary security. These system administrators as I form the main your audience, set the browser on the user workstation and as a consequence, the user then sets the house on their own already familiar it does. But as the firefox became extremely uncomfortable and this problem can not be solved, I'll be forced to go to another browser that does not create problems and remove the firefox from all computers in the enterprise. And probably if you do not solve a problem that they themselves have created, so go more and more people. My question is how to disable this paranoia in firefox? Take your complaints to Adobe who makes the Flash Player!

I've selected the automatic update option in Flash Player, why do I continue to get update notifications?
Periodically, users are presented with the Flash Player update dialog notifying them that a new version of Flash Player is available for download from adobe.com.
The automatic update mechanism is used for some updates, security patches that address zero-day vulnerabilities and when users, who have selected to be updated automatically, have not updated within 45 days after a regularly scheduled update release of Flash Player.
What should I expect when I receive notification that Flash Player has an update available?
When a major update to Flash Player becomes available you will be presented with a Flash Player update dialog
After reviewing new features, pressing the Download button will open your default browser and load the Install Adobe Flash Player page.
Clicking the "Update now" or "Install Now" button will then take you to the next page which will start the download process and give instructions for completing the Flash Player install.
Finally, once the installation is complete your browser will display a page confirming a successful installation.

Adobe offsets the ongoing development costs of Flash Player, which is made available for free, by offering users the option to download select software from Adobe partners.
What options do I have when installing or updating Flash Player?
You have a few different options available when updating Flash Player. We recommend that you choose "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)" when initially setting up Flash Player
or by going into the Flash Player control panel and choosing this option in the Advanced tab.
Once selected, most updates will occur in the background without requiring any interaction. For those regularly scheduled major update releases, you will be presented with an update notification dialog
If you decide not to update, you will receive an automatic update within 45 days if you have the "Allow Adobe to install updates" option selected. Please note that when this update occurs, only Flash Player will be installed.
If you want to be notified about every Flash Player update, select "Notify me to install updates" when initially installing Flash Player or from the Advanced tab in the Flash Player control panel.
Finally, if you'd prefer not to receive any updates, select "Never check for updates (not recommended)". We do not recommend this option as we believe keeping your system up to date improves both security and stability when using Flash Player.

If yes, then that is the file I originally downloaded based on a March post I saw here.
I just tried it again, and it (by "it" I mean the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers from download.macromedia.com) installed 11.6.
After the installation process completed, the dialog box notified me it was version 11.6, and when I went back to, the "find version" page, 11.6 was confirmed.
I did not download the exe for Internet Explorer, as I almost never use that browser. -

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
