Flash player crashes my computer when used . . . please help!

the newest versions of flash player required for use in you tube and hulu crash my computer and causes it to reboot. I'm using windows xp home edition 32 bit, have updated my drivers, and have tried to use several different versions of the flash player 10( installing the other versions first), as well as trying to use it in internet explorer 8, firefox 5, and google chrome. The computer does not crash unless the flash player is in use. I have tried everything I can think of, to no avail. This problem did not happen UNTIL I was forced to udate the flash player to the latest version in order to watch Hulu and you tube due to their requirements. PLEASE HELP!

Have you tried to disable Hardware Acceleration?

  • Flash Player UB: Persistant problem...please help...

    Hello everyone,
Recently, I have learned that Adobe realeases Flash Player Universal Binary version 9.0.20.0 (you can check it here http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash&promoid=BIOW).
Ok, I download this and installed it on my MBP. The weird thing is, after this installation, I could no longer read Flash content on any webpages including www.adobe.com (which I saw a Quicktime logo with Question mark in it). I searched on Adobe website for help and found Uninstall Flash Player file, which I also used to remove Flash Player. Then, I re-installed the Flash player for Intel...Still no luck. Say, if I go to www.cartier.com (I'm not rich, just want to test my version of Flash Player) it prompted me to install Flash Player which clearly states that my Flash Player wasn't installed properly.
    Things I have done:
-Uninstall and re-install Flash Player UB from adobe website.
-I have Macromedia Flash 8 Professional installed on my computer
-I have reset Safari, deleted cache, set it not to run under Rosetta.
    -Repair permission
Am I missing something or am I doing something which is in wrong order?
Any help would be very much appreciated and warmly welcome.
    Thank a tons in advance...
    Cheers,
    James

I had the same problem, it seems the un-installer doesn't remove all the old version bits and you have to do it manually, then install the new version. It does work eventually ...

  • Could someone help? Flash player crashing my computer.

Okay so here is my problem after the latest update I can't go on websites like tinychat livestream ustream.tv or omegle.
I could watch videos, play flash games, edit swf files and play them on my computer, play multiple videos, music, and flash games at the same time.
BUT I cannot go on websites that have online chats/live webcam chats.
    For example omegle.com
when you go to that site it's a text chat / video chat website
the front page is plain then it says text or video chat you can choose between either one...
If I pick either it crashes so I know it's not just webcam chat websites
I cannot join that text chat site
Is there any possible fix for this or is there something wrong with the latest update?
Eversince I downloaded it through firefox I can't get on those chats please help, thanks.

All right so I disabled hardare acceleration and switched the storage settings to unlimited.
It crashed while I was editing the settings also.
A total of about 3 crashes while trying to edit and get into websites like tinychat I still have the same problem.
The event viewer still shows the same errors the only things i've changed since this problem has happened was:
6/25 Adobe flash player update + plugin installed
    6/25 crashing started.
6/27 Downloaded ABP adblock plus for firefox.
    6/27 Downloaded the firefox update.
6/27 Downloaded k-lite mega codec pack.
To me it looks like the new update is the problem I don't see any other thing that could do this unless there's a problem with memory?
I can play any game run all sorts of programs I just can't get on those kinds of websites for some reason.
    from 6/25-today 6/29
I've been playing Cabal, Steam- counter strike source, l4d2.
Flash games on armorgames and kongregate, and i've played on whirled which uses flash and i've made my own swf files with photoshop/flash animation programs.
Everything is normal except tampering with flash settings and trying to get into online chats/webcam chats.
Sorry if i'm repeating myself I don't know what else to say i'm not too good with this stuff so I can't explain what's happening too well.
Here is the crash code if you need it I don't know if this will even be helpful but i'll post it anyways...
If there is anything else I can do or any other place I can go to get help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the answers so far.

  • Flash player crashing my computer.

I am running 64 bit windows 7 and am trying to install Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.228.  After installing, my computer will run for upwards of 20 minutes before it either freezes or I get the blue memory dump screen and I have to power it down.  Only uninstalling stops this from happening.  I am using Firefox 11.  Please help.

Okay. I managed to finally get both 64 bit versions installed. (edit) - It still crashes, but now ESET does not notify me about any update checking; it just plainly freezes. -
First I attempted to install the Windows 7 Service Pack 1, but I have a different issue with that which I won't go into much detail about, but it was a failed attempt. I thought about it for a bit, and decided to install IE9, so I downloaded the .exe from Microsoft and attempted to install it, but I got a BSOD.
I went into safe mode with networking, went to the programs list in the control panel, and uninstalled everything related to Adobe Flash Player. I then installed IE9 through their website download. I restarted and again booted in safe mode with networking to install the 64 bit Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer). Installation was just fine for that, so I rebooted in safe mode with networking again just to be safe to install the 64 bit Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers) and all was well. I booted up my computer normally and checked youtube videos on both IE9 and Firefox, and all is well.
On the reinstall I chose the option to notify me before installing any updates.
EDIT: After this recent freeze, I'll be continuing to install Windows 7 updates through safe mode.

  • Flash Player security Pop up when using camera and microphone.

    Hello Friends
Can any body suggest me how to remove flash player security pop up for camera and microphone through coding.
    Thanks in advance.

The security pop-up was first introduced with FP7. If you want to bypass it I can name two ways off the top of my head:
    1. Regardless of ActionScript version (2.0/3.0) in the Flash authoring enviroment, in the Publish Settings dialogue box, the Flash tab, near the bottom choose Access Network Only from Local Playback Security.
    2. Publish your movie as a projector. Both of these techniques will allow to "play" your swf file locally.

  • Flash player 10 Not working with firefox Please Help

I have posted here before and for some reason flash player is still not working.  I haven't been able to get on any of my fb games because of this.  When I go to
play any games it loads the pic then it fades to a white screen, when Ieft click on the mouse it shows a grey box that states Movie not loaded or Adobe flash player 10.
Here is some of the files from my Macromedia
    FlashInstall
    flashplayer.xpt
    FlashUtil10l_Plugin
    NPSWF32.dll
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX.dll
If you have any suggestion please help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if you will receive this, Tonyae, but my ability to reply in
that thread appears to have been disabled.  It says below that I can reply
to this email and you will get it so hopefully that's true.
I don't know how or why, but things are working again for me.  I uninstalled
/ reinstalled Firefox and Flash countless times.  I disabled Java, which
someone had suggested in another thread.  Nothing was working.  I had
restarted Firefox after every installation, but all of my attempts were
futile.  Finally, I restarted my laptop and it worked - I can finally watch
videos on my computer again.  (I know I should have tried that much earlier
in the process.) Very relieving to say the least.  I'm sorry you're still
having trouble because I know how frustrating it was.
If you receive this, I know I haven't offered much but I would highly
recommend restarting your computer after every change you make.  Keep
plugging away and one of them will hopefully work.  Good luck!

  • The activex control for flash player could not be registered.  Please help!

Can't install flash player.  Keep getting activex control for flash player could not be registered.  I have tried all of the solutions provided on this forum.  Running windows 7 32-bit running IE8.
    Please help.

Hi, Did you use the Administrator Account? If you received that message it is usually a Permissions Issue.
We have had several reports this past week of a Virus(AntiVirus8 or AV8) that can set a Kill-bit on the very Registry Key that FP uses for that ActiveX Control.
You may want to look and see if this is perhaps the problem. This needs to be ruled out first before we proceed, because if that key has the Kill-bit, then it wouldn't matter what you do.

  • How to download flash player on my galaxy note 2 please help

how can i down load flash player on my galaxy note 2

You don't... It's just that simple. Your Galaxy uses Android OS.
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

  • Adobe flash player crashing my whole computer could anyone please help?

Is this just a win vista problem or something?

Everything is up to date explorers, java, direct x, video cards, checked every single driver...
    This is my problem:
The newest flash player crashes everytime I open certain web pages like failblog or tinychat which requires a webcam
I'm not sure what is causing it but it's only when i'm on those webpages that it crashes...
I can go on youtube kongregate steam and I can play tons of games the only thing I cant do is go on certain websites that messes with the newest version of flash for some reason...
I can use ANY other version of adobe flash and it won't crash at all but the problem with using the older versions is that I can't use my webcam on certain sites.
Will there be another update release for adobe flash that will fix this problem? The previous version was fine I don't know what was changed but will it get fixed?
And yes I have also been into the error logs but it doesn't show anything and the codes that it does show, people don't know what the hell it means lol just a bunch of binary number like data...I could post that but I doubt it would be of any help it's just a few short lines of numbers on each crash...I have purposely crashed my computer about 2 times to check if error logs popup and to see what is crashing the flash player but nothing changes in the crash log..
So to sum my problems up into a short paragraph....newest flash player crashes my computer when I go on webcam/webchat/certain websites with flash videos on it, also if I right click and try to tamper with the settings it also crashes my computer...I would like to know if there's a possible fix for this or will there be another update released anytime soon?
Please help and thank you for all future responses I will continue to use older versions of flash player till this problem is resolved, also on my newer i-7 620 processor 5850 ati laptop it crashes but rarely although I can use my webcam on msn on that computer but this is one has problems....

Sorry I wasn't able to respond for a while I work two jobs so I   really don't have time for this although I would still like to get this   solved very much.
In the event viewer all it says is that there was an unexpected shut down.
I  have checked and updated everything on both computers I tried to   disable hardware acceleration and that still didn't change anything.
Sometimes  when I try to just right click on a flash player and change  the  settings it crashes, if I try to load certain pages it crashes, if I   try to use a webcam chat on a webcam site it crashes. Though I can   still view other people's webcams in chat ex: tinychat I could be in   there chatting away with some friends from across country and nothing   will happen until I click webcam and flash player asks to allow, it  will  crash if I try to right click anywhere and that little flash  settings  popup it crashes.
All of this happens when I use the most  current version of flash  player any other previous version will not  crash when doing any of this  although I can't use my webcam since the  website is running an updated  version which is why I would like to get  this problem fixed.
The new firefox update didn't help  at all it still just freezes.  There is no blue screen, no crash error  report, no event log. The event  viewer just says it was shut down  unexpectedly.
I also tried uninstalling all webcam  applications unplugging my  webcam and that didn't affect it at all.  I've done everything that  people have been doing on here to solve there  problems, I used the  search button and tried options from various  threads but none work for  me.
I can do everything  normally that requires flash player like play  games, watch videos, and  other stuff but it just crashes when I do those  certain things as  stated above. It's weird that there is no log, no  anything just a  freeze and I can't do anything to the computer i've  tried letting it  sit for about 15 minutes but it didn't respond. I used  ctrl alt del  after a while, alt tab, alt f4, holding down certain keys,  holding the  power button in for a while and nothing will happen. It just  sits  frozen untill I unplug it.
Is there anything I can do to get an error log of the crash since event viewer isn't working?

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox (NetSteam, Stratus)

    Flash Player version: 11,8,800,97 (last)
    OS: Windows 7
    Browser: Mozilla Firefox 22.0 (last)
Problem: Adobe Flash Player crashes on Firefox, when runnig project with such elements like NetSteam, Stratus.
When problem happen: Only when some streamed data is incoming, after random time. Time before crash can be 4 minutes, it also can be 2 minutes. Memory leaks or disk space usage didn't change and don't seem to be a reason. Problem happen when I was testing my voice chat together with few people. At one moment it crashed at few computers at the same time (which were using Firefox). Then we had luck with repeating this problem several times - simply by asking one of us to play any music into Microphone. Then Firefox Flash Player always crashing.
Here you can see repeating of problem: http://youtu.be/BdkoQxloyDA
It also show that it does not crashes if nobody is sending audio stream in created group, but it does when somebody is sending audio stream. In that video I'm repeating problem by myself, with help of one computer and 2 tabs of Flash Player. First is running in Chrome, second in Firefox. Player in Chrome is used to send system sound from speakers to peer group. Player in Firefox is listening and playing everything he hears (this is why I set it's volume to near 1).
    Here is .swf :
    http://www.plazmaburst2.com/vchat/vchat.swf?1375377116&l=ANY_LOGIN_NAME&g=b1a2e6f17f339b63 6382b2d6cccadb21
It's very simplified voice chat which only displays streams which are being heared. It's adding " is talking" when stream is sending data. "g" parameter is a group name, I think you can choose any, but tests were made with this one.
Hope it helps. If you will need .fla file - just tell me.

Your issue is distinct from the original poster's issue about a crash on Mac.  I've branched this out to a new thread so that we're not confusing everyone.
Firefox on Win8 isn't very stable.  We're collaborating with Mozilla on improvements, and my test results with the daily development builds are really promising, but it will be a few more weeks before they actually make it to production releases.
In the meantime, you're way better off using IE or Chrome.

  • Keith Gilabert, "Flash Player Crashes on Mozilla"

Flash Player crashes on Firefox when I have more than two browsers open.  The browser that are being operated simultaneously are Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome.  For some season the Mozilla browser crashes when playing video.
    Please advise.
    Thank you,
    Keith Gilabert

Hi,  You may want to go to this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/. Right click on the Flash logo, Settings,
then UNcheck the hardware acceleration in Display Settings.
Then make sure that in IE you have the Security Setting for the Internet Zone set to Medium.
    Hope that helps,

  • Flash Player crashes when losing network connection

My flash player crashes every time i lose internet connection. That happens alot, because the networks i use keep jumping between eachother and they suck, quite frankly, but it's out of my control.
I got alot of tabs up, 24/7, all using flash player, so when it crashes, that sucks.
No, it doesn't crash because of the amount of tabs i have open, or the load on it. It happens when i have only 1 tab open too, barely using flash player ..
So, is there anything i can do about this?
This didn't happen with the older versions of adobe (I mean alot older, don't remember at which version this started happening, this/last year atleast) ..
Im running Windows 7 32 bit. But it happens on my Win XP 32-bit computers and Win 7 64-bit computer too.

So i have the same virus on all my 4 computers?
1 computer has a updated version of the latest Symantech antivirus, and 1 has an updated version of the latest AVG antivius. They should've found a virus if i had one. And i haven't visited any "suspicious" sites, downloaded anything "suspicious", and have all ads blocked .. The chance of it being a virus is equal to zero.
When the computer changes from a network (With connection and internet access) to a different network (With connection and internet access) real quick, then it usually doesn't crash.
But when it changes from a network (With connection and internet access) to a network (With connection, but hotspot, so no internet access before i enter the password and username in a new tab/window) it crashes. Same happens if i simply click "Disconnect" when im on a network.
It doesn't however do that if i go into "Work offline" mode before disconnecting, but it crashes then when i reconnect to a different network, and go back into working online.
This is an adobe problem, no virus.
Happens with both Firefox 3.6, Firefox 4, Google chrome and IE (Whichever version it was i had) ..
