Flash Player Development for Embedded Device
I recently submitted a request for the Flash Player Lite and
Flash Player SDK. The website told me I would soon be contacted by
an associate with instructions on how to download the tools to
build a flash player for my embedded device. Instead Adobe forwards
my request to a 3rd party consultant that wants to charge me NRE to
develop the tools for my target and an expensive license fee for
each unit I want to put the player on. Since when does Adobe charge
a licensing fee for it's player? They are obviously endorsing this
if they have a contract with this company.
Does anyone know a way I can get the tools to build my own
Flash Player that will run on my device. The device is custom made
hardware using an i.MX32 ARM processor and Windows CE 5.0.

I went through the same cycle you did. I'd like to add that
it's my understanding that there are two components to the costs of
the 3rd party integrator's solution, an NRE, and a per device
license fee. The NRE is significant, but I understand that the 3rd
party needs to be compensated for their effort. I sensed that the
~$10 per device costs were driven by adobe. From a cash flow
standpoint, $10/device might not be that bad for a low volume
design, and if you're moving big volumes the price goes way down.
All around, it's not a bad deal if you have more cash than
technical resources.
However, I must admit that I'm disappointed that I have not
been able to find another licensing path except through the third
party. I will mostly likely not be able to justify the NRE but have
the skills (I strongly suspect) to perform the port myself. If
anyone knows how to contact adobe about licensing Flash Lite 3,
please let me know (don't call customer service - it's outside
their scope).

Is flash player good for a 3g droid, might there be a better app
is flash player good for a3g droid, or might there be a better app to choose
Hello mario831,
As most of us may already know, Flash is the most popular format to use on the web. The Motorola Droid 3 is a great device that does support Flash. There are several benefits of having Flash on your device. For example, streaming embedded videos on websites like www.cnn.com and www.forbes.com are super convenient while on the go. Also, Flash allows all of the advertisements on websites to show properly. Some common websites that come to mind are www.msn.com and www.phonearena.com.
In my opinion, I am pro-Flash. It's an excellent addition to the Droid 3 and it brings the user closer to a seamless web browsing experience. Although there are other options available in the App Market, Flash Player and other Adobe products have been known to have the least amount of maintenance and work extremely well across multiple browser and operating system. Even though this is an opinionated topic, hopefully you will find some value in my opinion by using Flash on your Droid 3. If you decide against it then please reply to this message as I am eager to hear about what alternative that you decided to use.
Thank you...

Why isn't there a Macromedia Flash Player version 8
compatible for the PPC? YouTube use version 8 for it's FLV content
and my Audivox 6700 is plenty fast enough to play the video and my
network is plenty fast enough to stream the content. Now I see ads
for the iPhone showing YouTube playing on that little media darling
and I am wondering now whether Adobe is not releasing a player
compatible with YouTube on purpose. It's been over a year now there
is no excuse for this delay.> Hi, Have been using flash player 7 on my ppc but the
video quality is
> really
> bad as it does not use the ON2VP6 codec. Also one cant
see youtube coz it
> requires flash player 8. When is the Flash player 8 for
ppc releasing.
I think Adobe has moved away from Flash Player versions for
Pocket PC, and
is instead concentrating on Flash Lite for PocketPC. So I
don't expect to
ever see Flash Player 8 for PocketPC. Look instead for Flash
Lite updates,
applicable to later versions of PocketPC OS - maybe WM 5 and
6 or later, at
a guess.

How Install Adobe Flash Player in any Android Device
How to Manually install Flash Player to any Android Device? Look for answers below.
Hi I have tested this and every one should know about it and it is very easy to install. Works on Tablets, Phones, Set Top Boxes / TV Box. The trick is the APK file it is the same file format as any app on the play store here is the link right here from Adobe click and down load it from your device or you can download it to you computer and copy it to your device. http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/android/11.1.115.81/inst all_flash_player_ics.apk. Now that you have the file here are the instruction to install it please read the rest of it. Manually install on Android devices Once you have successfully installed flash it may work with your native chrome browser with most devices but in some cases mostly phones it does not.
So you will have to down load Mozilla FireFox or Dolphin Browser. FireFox will work right away Dolphin under the setting you need to turn on Flash always on. That's it.
Once you have it done test it by going to http://askmilton.tv enjoy. Please post a comment about you experience.

I need To install Adobe Flash Player 9 for my iPad 2
I need To install Adobe Flash Player 9 for my iPad 2 or some thing like the flash player
Not as most people think of Flash on an iOS device, no. The new version of Flash Media Server just provides a single server platform for streaming video both in Flash and HTML5 content formats. It won't work for Flash apps which is what most people want. And it's not something the user can install for connecting to Flash content;the provider has to implement it.
It may, however, speed up the availability of content in HTML5 format since the provider doesn't have to run separate servers. And just FYI, it's not new. This version of Flash Media Server was released back in September.

Could someone at Adobe please update us with what is
happening with Flash Player 9 for Linux? I noticed that other Flex
components have been released for Linux, so obviously there is some
groundwork to Flash Player 9.Will alienate? They've already alienated users a long time
ago. That isn't the point, though, because it doesn't matter if
users are alienated, it only matters if the users need flash.
The only thing that could make flash player better is open
source. I don't see why they don't do it. They make money on the
authoring tool, not the player. All of my Linux machines are ppc
and x86_64, no flash there. I also don't have flash on my PDA, a
Palm T|X. If the player was open sourced, people would stop
complaining about how much flash sucks -- because, right now, there
are very serious, legitimate, complaints against it.
Anyway, for now I'm hoping that SVG matures quickly.
Although, I"m sure that once Adobe sees that train coming, they
will extend Flash (dev.) to export SVG movies containing embedded
binary data that can only play with their binary plugin. -

Their Flash detection script does not recognise PocketPC. You
could try
using PocketIE Plus to view it. Set it to identify itself as
Internet
Explorer 6 -
http://www.reensoft.com/PIEPlus/.
Won't work if you have
Winsows Mobile 5 OS, but you can find other tools that can do
the same
"identify as IE 6" trick.

The Adobe Reader and the Flash player are not connected in
any way, so this
is not important information.

HTC One. Flash Player not supported by device?
Hi I've just got a HTC One which comes pre loaded with flash player 11. However when I go to use Flash on a website it comes up with either you need to download flash or, plug in not supported? When I check to see if there are any updates there are non. I can't uninstall as it's a system app on the phone. When I check on the applications section of settings it shows the app as 0mb which seems strange but might be due to it being pre loaded? What can I do? Any ideas anyone?

Flash Player 7 for Windows Mobile crashes Pocket IE
I just downloaded and installed the latest Flash Player 7 for
Windows Mobile on my Windows Mobile 2003 SE device. As a result
Pocket Internet Explorer crashes whenever it tries to open a page

You will probably find that Adobe.com is using Flash 8 or 9
content, hence
the crash. Since most up-to-date web sites will be similar,
you may find
Flash 7 is largely unusable for web surfing.
Just speculating.
I don't know for certain.

I have Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, but I'm still missing Flash Player?
So I have installed the latest version of Adobe Flash Player Plugin for Firefox, and I'm able to watch youtube videos on my browser and other things that require flash player, but I have a disc that i got along with my Samsung monitor, and when I put it in my computer, it says that I do not infact have flash player. Also, when I try playing a game, DawnGate, theres a black box where a video should be, and it says that i do not have flash player, and it is required to watch these videos. I tried uninstalling, and I was unable to watch youtube, and when i reinstalled, I was able to watch youtube again, but that did not fix my problem. Is there something I'm missing? I look forward to hearing from someone soon.
Odds are it's looking for the IE plugin: (A lot of software just assumes ALL Windows users are "slaves to Microsoft" and only have IE installed.)

Flash player worked for months but now I have audio but no video / Windows 8 / Help
Flash player worked for months. But today suddenly the video part stopped working. So I have audio and a blank screen. This is across all applications: youtube, live streaming, etc.
To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
Operating system
Browser
Flash Player version - http://adobe.ly/wNzNAu
Web Page URL
Steps to reproduce
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details. Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
Windows - http://adobe.ly/KShBWi
Mac - http://adobe.ly/16Odlzb
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player. I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform. If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing. You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.

Install Flash Player 9 for OSX
I’ve installed Flash Player 9 for OSX and it
doesn’t seem to work. I’m not experiencing anything
similar to previous threads. I don’t get any errors and the
installation seems to go fine but when I return to any site that
requires Flash Player 9 it tells me that I need to install the
latest version, which I’ve done. I’ve even uninstalled
and then reinstalled with the same result. Did I miss something
here?I have been having the same problem since installing Leopard.
I have tried suggestions from others:
there are no browsers running when I install Flash Player
I have repaired permissions (both before and after
installing)
I have uninstalled before reinstalling
None of these work. I am unable to view Flash content in
Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. I am using a G5 Mac desktop
and have had no previous problems with the Flash player on this
machine.
