Flash Player disabled only in app mode of internet explorer. How to reenable? (Windows 8)

I have a windows 8 OS. Until recently flash player ran fine in both the desktop and app versions of internet explorer. Flash player is now only enabled in the desktop version and not the app version. I have followed the steps listed in the help section of the website and they did not solve the problem. Is there a way to reenable flash player in the app mode of internet explorer?

Wish I could help, but I never run anything from the start menu tiles. 99 times out of 100, it crashes my laptop and I have to force a hard restart.
That garbage is the worst thing Microsoft ever came up with and they should be sued out of business for it IMHO.

  • How can I know if the version of Flash Player installed is the right version for Internet Explorer?

    Hello,
I have Windows 7 Starter with Internet Explorer 8 and Adobe Flash Player 10,1,85,3.
I am experiencing problems with one particular web site which uses Flash technology to operate its web site., which is:
    gadget-detective.moonfruit.com.
It has been suggested to me that I check I have installed the correct Flash Player for the web browser
I am using which is Internet Explorer 8, that in particular I should check I have not installed in error a Flash Player
for "other browsers". I do not know how to check if the version of Flash Player I have installed is the correct one for
Internet Explorer, but, when I go to the Adobe web site at:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
it states that Flash Player is successfully installed.
Here are the problems I have been encountering with accessing the above-mentioned "gadget-detective" web site,
where I have had to use different URLs to attempt to get access to the technical advice areas on their web site:
1)A Welcome page with a link to the Free Technical Advice page located someway down the centre of the Welcome page,
but still with none of the previous links along the left side:
    http://www.gadget-detective.moonfruit.com/#/free-tech-advice/4515074362
2)A Welcome page with no links at the left side and in particular no link at all to the Free Technical Advice page:
    http://www.gadgetdetective.com/
    3)A completely black page:

How can I be certain that I have the correct version of Flash Player for my web browser Internet Explorer 8?
    Regards.

    Hello  ʇɐb ɹəuəllıʍ ,
Thanks for your reply. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what the Flash Player setting
called "Hardware Acceleration" does, before I try disabling it.
    Regards.

  • New flash player 11 update doesn't work with internet explorer 8

I have Windows 7 and IE 8. This is a home desktop computer.
When the latest update of FlashPlayer 11.5.502.146 was automatically installed on Jan 9, IE8 stopped working. I can navigate to a site, but then it just freezes. I can not click any toolbar or other buttons or links--I can not even close IE--I have to use task manager. If I disable Flashplayer, IE works fine, but then of course no content can be displayed. If I go to a site and then enable Flashplayer, I can't click on anything again, so that doesn't work. HELP. Does the newest update not work with IE8?

I have a similar problem. I've Win XP SP3 with IE 8. For last few months I've noticed that Flash Player is not able to play flash audio/video on a webpage i.e., upon visiting a page the flash player starts loading but it does not finish - a circle keeps rotating - player does not manage to display 'Play' button. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player 11.5.502.146. Also, installed Flash Player 11.6.602.161 from above link. But, with same result.
Same behaviour is repeated in FireFox 18.0.1 with Flash Player 11.5.502.146. It seems that something else is not allowing flash player to play. I've latest Java 7 Upd 13, ZoneAlarm 11 and Avast 7.0.1474.
(Note: I've another PC with Win XP SP3, IE 8 and FireFox 18.0.1 and Flash Player 11.5.502.146 works well. It has Java 7 Upd 13. It has ZoneAlarm 11 and Windows Defender AV)
    Can anyone help?

  • Flash player work with Safari, but not with Internet Explorer

My flash player had a problem so I uninstalled it.  I had a problem downloading the player with Internet Explorer, so I successfully download it with Safari.  The player works fine with Safari, but I cannot get it to work with Internet Explorer 8.
I used to have the Flash Player 10 Active X (10.1.85.3), which I had uninstalled.
I now have the Flash Player 10 Plugin (10.1.85/3)
The problem I had downloading the player with IE was that the "allow Active X" information bar never appeared and I was unable to see any download at all.
How do I get flash to work with my Internet Explorer 8 (8.0.7600.16385)?

This adobe web site worked easily for me, when I needed to install adobe flash JUST for IE8.
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
All you need to do is choose your OS in the top window, then in the bottom window choose "Adobe Flash Player 10.1 for Windows Internet Explorer", and voila, that is what adobe installs!! Give it a go. I had problems too, before I foud this. Diligent

  • Solution for removing unsafe versions of flash player embedded in HP apps?

Windows 7 64 bit IE 9 Flash Player 10.3.183.10 (the most current I can get--I have read the discussion on the update issues.) I have a 5 week old Dell system and have had an HP Officejet installed for 3 weeks. My security software detected 2 security vulnerabilities; one "Highly Critical" and the other "Extremely Critical." These are Flash Player 9.0r115 and version 10.0. Both are embedded in the HP printer setup files from the installation disk. These versions must be updated/patched for best system security. The problem is that while I have the updated version of Flash Player on my computer, the versions in these HP apps stubbornly refuse to be updated--and can't be uninstalled without activating annoying little nag boxes which constantly pester me to reinstall the HP "Solution Center" at each logon. After 3 weeks, this app suddenly decided that an .exe file was incompatible and the only thing that is different is the fact that I uninstalled (deleted) the outdated/dangerous Flash Players when they could not be updated. HP's technical support suggested that I uninstall the Solution Center entirely--but I got a warning that I would no longer be able to use my printer. Their only other advice was to "contact Adobe". Do you have any suggestions as to how to make Flash Player "play nice" with the Solution Center?---preferably the correct, updated version of Flash Player, so as to avoid any security issues---and how I might get that correct version installed in the correct file path?  Thank you for any help that you can give me.

I suggest that you uninstall all FP versions using the uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download the installer(s) from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 and reinstall.

  • Unable to install Flash Player as "only a single version of this application can run"

I was having problems with Flash Player earlier today and decided to uninstall it (from Windows 7) and reinstall from scratch.  I uninstalled it and tried reinstalling it but now I get the following message: Unable to install Flash Player as "only a single version of this application can run" I tried uninstalling   I checked to see if there was still a programme to install but there is not. I checked my files in Windows and there are several files called Install_Flashplayer _16x32 .............. files. I presume they were created each time I attempted to install Flash Player.  I thought of deleting the numerous Install FlashPlayer files but decided to seek help before taking this step.
    Browser: Firefox 35.0.1
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    64bit OS

I have somehow managed to install Flash Player and it works. I deleted all the install files except one which did not want to be deleted, Then I started to install Flash Player until I got the message about conflicting applications. I then used Ctrl+Alt+Delete to open Task Manager, then closed all tasks except the Flash Player one. Flash Player finished installing. I then opened a TV Player in Firefox and was able to play a programme that required a Flash Player.
Why do I have to use Task Manager to close applications. I can't remember the last time I used it ut think it was about a year ago when my computer would not shut down.

Some sites ask for adobe flash player. My IPad doesn't support it. How can I get over it?

You could try a third-party browser app such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon which 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.

if you reboot and the line is there before you login it's not flash
but more likely an hardware issue
people like to see patterns so they seek them out but that can at times result in
a random hardware failure being tied to whatever the user was doing when it happened
like "tripple clicking in mail caused a loud pop and smoking raising from my imac"

  • More configurable kiosk mode of Internet Explorer needed

    Hello
Kiosk mode of Internet Explorer 11 (switch -k) is unconfigurable
Is it possible to implement following features/switches in IE regarding kiosk mode: -kioskresettime (returning to the home page after declared time of inactivity)
-kioskhomebutton (Home button visible while in kiosk mode)
-kiosknavbuttons (Back and Forward navigation buttons visible while in kiosk mode)
-kioskaddressbar (addressbar visible in kiosk model)
-contextmenuoff (disables contextmenu available from right-mouse-click)?
I need to have on the kiosk PC with Windows 7 64bit with touchable screen without keyboard and onscreen keyboard.
    Can anybody help me?
    Best regards

You may need to develop an application on your kiosk PC, the application could detect keyboard , touch event on the PC and navigate to home page after some time of inactivity.
If you want to request a feature on IE, you could submit a feedbact to IE connect.
