Flash player disables Youtube OS X

2 systems - MacPro with 10.7.5, Mac Mini Intel with 10.6. Both hardwired to network.
Latest flash player updates interfere with YouTube playback. Videos will play about 30 seconds and freeze with no audio and the "loading" symbol. Pausing the video gives me the "Experiencing Interruptions" bar (which Google uses to let DSL providers advertise - it's not a useful diagnostic tool).
Videos may play eventually - for a few more seconds. I've tried all Flash Player settings (after checking DSL and modem speed, etc.)
Un-installing flash player is an immediate fix.
Anyone else experiencing this?
(I won't upgrade the mac pro OS until late winter - it will mean needing a new Pro Tools interface and a paid PT upgrade (I'm well out of PT upgrade path) so $1k+ - I'll be buying a new Mac Pro or iMac at this time.)

I installed Flash on another computer, and copied those files
to those same places on the computer in question. Seems to

Hi guys,
We are currently deploying Windows 7 out to all Staff and Student PCs, we've had it on our IT Department's PCs for the past year and have had no issues with Flash Player and Youtube.
However, a Tutor reported that when they go to YouTube and select a video it buffers, plays a second or so and then goes to 'An Error Occurred, Please Try Again Later'.
If we disable Shockwave Flash Object it redirects to the HTML5 website and that works fine.
Software:
OS: Windows 7 Professional 32bit
CPU: Various (Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel i5, Intel Xeon E5
RAM: 2-4GB DDR2, 4GB DDR3,
Browser: IE10, Mozilla Firefox v19 and v24
Adobe Flash Player ActiveX: v11.8.800.175
Adobe Flash Player Plug-in: v11.8.800.168
Diagnostics:
Tried completely uninstalling Adobe Flash Player, restarting PC, installing Adobe Flash Player
Tried Adobe Flash Player Beta
Tried disabling Hardware Acceleration
Uninstalled IE10, Tried on IE8, Same Issue
Tried removing all Computer and User Policies
Checked if it was a VLAN issue but is happening on both 10.32.x.x (student) and 10.64.x.x (staff)
Tried on IE9 same issue
Scrolling along the seek bar at the bottom shows all of the stills fine.
Enable ActiveX Filtering resolves the issue but that's just because it goes to HTML5 too.
Any help is appreciated

I am also facing similar issue. I tried literally all solutions and then finally gave up and reinstalled windows 7 after clean format,
Immediately after fresh OS installation,Youtube just worked once with flash player for hardly 3 to 5 seconds and then crashed with error "an error occured please try again later- Learn More"
Tried reloading that same youtube video which initially worked for 5 seconds,but on second try it won't load at all.Tried all the other videos as well and same result,they won't play even for one second and same error "an error occured.."
Scrolling along the seek bar of stuck youtube video shows vid's still images just fine but video won't play at all.
Tried it with firefox,IE,Chrome and same result.
Youtube works fine with Html5 player.
Until 5 days back everything was working just fine, maybe either flashplayer got updated or Youtube changed anything which is causing this problem.
I even did a clean windows 8 install on another pc and that pc is also showing same symptoms.

It seems that going to Preferences>Security> Check allow plug ins, then manage sites, and then allowing one site allows all??? Seems like a lot to go through. I have installed the player 4 times now and just got it figured out!

You can check the version under Apple Menu > System Preferences > Flash Player. Did you quit and restart Safari after the install?

After Flash Player, the youtube videos stop working after 1st second.

Hi guys,
I have a couple of Dell pc's with win7 professional 64bit.
Some of them on IE10 and other's on IE11.
The thing is after the installation of the latest Flash Player version, the videos on YouTube stop after the 1st second.
If I remove the Flash Player the YouTube works fine.
Anyone have the same problem?

Hi again,
I found the "source" of the issue, the pc's don't have speakers, so after I plug in some headphones the YouTube run without problems.
So there is any way to configure Flash Player to do not search for "playback devices"?

How can i run older versions of flash player on youtube etc without being prompted to update my flash player/not being able to use the old version?

i want to run adobe flash player 10.3 on youtube etc because it has little to no fps lag on videos compared to the newer versions of adobe flash on my current laptop. is there any way to disable the checking of my flash player version in firefox so i wont be prompted to upgrade and i can use flash 10.3 to watch videos? plz help ty.

I've worked with Flash Player for years and am having this problem for the first time. Using Shutterfly, I'm unable to open projects in process - Shutterfly asks me to download Flash and when I try, I get a msg saying that it is installed correctly, but is disabled. Any ideas how do I resolve this?

Flash Player - Disable Hardware Acceleration - Apple TV-Mac OS 10.4.7/Firefox

Hello all,
I have been going down a fun path getting my 1st Generation Apple TV (160 GB HD) to run Hulu natively (without PlayOn restreaming). After fun times getting Firefox and Flash Player working, I blasted through setting up Hulu Widget to keep the video size small (Apple TV in 480p defaults to an 800x600 res).   Things look pretty good. I maxed out buffering/cache for all Hulu related sites within Global settings, this produced nice improvements. I found a GreaseMonkey script that forces the Flash Player to always render Low Quality video. This helps immensely at stopping stuttering with little trade off in quality. My last piece to try to tweak video playback (aside from monkeying around with the OS X kernel) is the disable Hardware Acceleration.
BUT, I am having a major problem with mouse support or something. Everytime I bring up the Display settings via a Right Click, I cannot uncheck "Enable hardware acceleration". Surprisingly clicking it 500 times still does not make it uncheck.
I have searched high and low but have not found a clearcut way to disable it via script or other non-interactive means.
I wonder if there might be a javascript that could be plugged into GreaseMonkey to accomplish the end goal.   This blog and Adobe document refer to the wmode parameter and how to use it to disable HA.

Hi, LOL at my screen moniker. That's interesting that the FF beta has an Option for that. The only problem, is that I have heard that each browser must UNcheck the H.A. I'm sure you'll find out.

Hard to keep up with the Technology, moving faster today for some reason.

I installed Adobe Flash Player, but YouTube is still telling me that I need Flash plug-in?

I have Safari 7.0, and when I go to youtube, it says that I need the latest flash plug-in, and I keep downloading it but it's still saying the same thing. Flash plug-ins are already enabled in Safari preferences, so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Yes, done all that but there is no adobe flash player listed in the add ons >plug ins site. However in the program listings on the start section adobe flash player is displayed.
I have tried down loading it again and although I have done this from downloads and it displays as done it does not reappear in plug ins.

Compliance Settings Adobe flash Player disable Automatic Updates Powershell Scripts fail

Hello,
I have setup compliance to check and remediate if Adobe flash Player automatic updates is enabled by using PowerShell scripts.
If I run the scripts below manually on my pc they work fine, but if I run in sccm 2012 compliance I get:

Flash player disabled yet enabled?

Every time I try to run Adobe Flash Player on new computer, I get a message that reads its disabled. Yet, when I go to the manage add ons, it shows that it's enabled. Plus, when I look to the ActiveX, it's not checked. What gives?

Long story short, the video site is probably going to need to change their content before it works in IE11+. I'd need some links to affected pages to tell you for sure (and even then, the complexity of websites these days makes debugging pretty painful).
In the meantime, you might just want to use Chrome for the sites that otherwise don't work.

Flash Player and Youtube

I can view some videos at Youtube in Flash Player, but other videos ask me to download the latest Flash Player. I have done this, re-booted, but Youtube keeps asking me to download the latest player.
Can anyone help.

PC Freeze Using New Flash Player and Youtube/Vimeo

I just recently upgraded my flash player to the newest version. No problems with Youtube before, but now there is a major conflict. Whenever I try to load a youtube video, my computer freezes. I have about 10 seconds or so where I can move the mouse/cursor, but no input is available. And then my montior goes into sleep mode because it thinks my PC is in sleep mode. The PC fans are still running but no input is accepted. The only fix is to reboot, and then then next time it happens again.
The problem is not Youtube because I have the same problem on Vimeo. And it's not firefox, I have the same problem on IE. And Firefox is fully updated.
I've tried the usual uninstall and reinstall of flash and it didn't help.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi, thanks for the info, but now that you've reverted back to FP vs 9, there is no way to have you check files/settings etc.
I would only be guessing and that wouldn't be helpful.
Flash Player updated yesterday and you can see the versions at this site. Note that the version for Windows that use the IE browsers is different than Windows that uses the plugin browsers. Of course the Installer links will Install the appropriate version.
