Flash Player / Firefox Browser / Terrible Sound

Hi there, first of all, can i just state i am semi pro music producer, so its not my imagination lol, i uploaded a video to Youtube of my latest production, when i listened to it in IE was fine, Chrome the same, however when i used Firefox and flash the sound was terribly degraded, at first i thought it might have been firefox so i switched to HTML5 and the sound was perfect, so it was flash that was the problem. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, same result, i then went to reverbnation and engaged the music player, same result, other browsers fine, firefox and flash terrible..
Here is my latest production, listen to it in chrome or IE then listen in flash a massive difference, i tried to find ways of contacting adobe, but no luck.

This should probably be posted to YouTube.  My uneducated guess is that they are serving two different encodings, one for Flash the other for their HTML5 player.
Fwiw, I captured the first two minutes of the song using both Chrome and Firefox.  I then compared them both in Audition (pasting an inverted copy as a mix) and saw that they were basically identical until around the 1:20 mark (I cropped some of the initial rain sound so my timing is a bit off from the full recording.)  At the 1:20 mark it appears the firefox/flash copy is either missing a portion of the audio or is briefly sped up.  At this point, the audio differs with Firefox being ahead about a second.  I've uploaded the audition multitrack so you can take a look.
Before the divergence, I could not notice a discernible difference when I solo'd between the two tracks.
Chris
Ps. Great song and production.  Very nicely done.

  • Flash Player Crashing and losing sound?

Flash player with either lose sound in the middle of playing a video or it will outright crash, causing the browser to freeze until I stop the plugin. What can I do about this? I'm using Firefox on Windows 8.1.

I have this problem too! I think its definitly caused by an update or something in the last week or so. My system is newly installed not even a month old. First few weeks after the install was fine and now i would be lucky to play a flash video (anywhere, youtube, cbs...) for more than 10 minutes. the majority of the crashing happens within one or two minutes of playing. Symptom is the same as misterkiwi described. After sometime into the video, sound would be lost or other times entire video would freeze and sometime even cause IE to crash. Only way to revive is to close IE and reopen.
I am rather certain that it is Flash's problem because when sound happens to be lost mid-stream, I can still open a mp3 and my system can play that just fine. When video freezes IE it self is still very muchly functional, and I have no problem doing other things...such as typing this reply...
    My system:
WIndows 8.1 64bit Pro, CPU: i7-3770K, GPU: EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX 560Ti, Sound: Asus p8z77ws on board sound
    IE 11.0.9600.16518 update 11.0.3 (KB2909921)
    Flash: 12.0.0.77
Other plugins  (i think unrelated but i'll list them anyway)
    Java: 7.0.510.13
    Silverlight: 5.1.30214.0
    Windows Media Player: 12.0.9600.16384
I have no other Add-ons loaded as i said my system is new...
Please if anyone from the community could help, or even from Adobe
BTW...i have done all of the suggested steps on the Adobe flash website...nothing worked...

  • Flash Player (Firefox) Vs. Mac Leopard and Spaces

here is a weird issue that seems to cause more than one major
    issue for me.
If I have my Flex application open in Firefox and I CMD-TAB
to another application that on on a different Virtual Screen(Space
as Apple like to call them) then CMD-TAB back to Firefox. Firefox
will show up in the foreground but the window itself does not truly
have focus, (here is where I have two different issues one crashes
the browser every time, the other causes my text object to jump off
the the bounds of my screen). The first issue of crashing the
browser seems to happen only when I have an alert box open, if I
CMD-TAB to another space and then CMD-TAB back to firefox, then
click the OK on an alert box without clicking the title bar on
firefox to gain focus, the browser crashes. not at all sure why
    this occurs.
The other issue is the I have a page editor type of
application so you can add text and drag it around where ever you
like, if you add a text object to the workspace, then CMD-TAB to
another Space then CMD-TAB back to firefox if I click and drag a
text object it will jump off the screen, and I cannot get the
object to come back without some small hacks to be able to call an
object back to the visible workspace. This one i think occurs
because say your screen resolution is 1024x768 and you jump to
another space, then jump back without focusing I think Flash Player
thinks you are still at say (-1024*Spaces to the left) or
(+1024*spaces to the right) but if I click the title bar before any
click on flash player none of these problems occur.
This does not happen with Safari(Safari Focuses as as soon as
you CMD-TAB to it, Firefox works just fine as well as long as you
do not CMD-TAB to another Space and back)

    tgeiges,
I think your best option here would be to open a support case
    with the Flex team (
    http://www.adobe.com/support).
This sounds like something they'd be interested in testing.

  • Flash player 9 stoped playing sound

    Hello!
I have flash player 9 installed in Firefox 2.0. On certain
web sites the player stops playing sound after a while. As one
hovers over a hyperlink the sound was back for a while. Has anyone
experienced the behavior and got a solution?
    Thank's
    Steve

You seem to be experiencing the same problem as I am... see post http://forums.adobe.com/thread/779624
Even when I select "publish to Flash 9" it will only work on those machines that have Flash 10.
The Flash version that we have is 9.0.16
Can you do me a favour? Go to www.whatismyflashversion.com
I'm curious to know what exact version of Flash 9 you have. Is it possible that we just happen to have the one or two Flash 9 versions that don't work with Captivate 5?? Like, if I had 9.0.17 than I wouldn't be having this problem?

I've an issue to run the browser hot keys when the flash player is running, the player is kinda stoping the propagation of the events to the browser, is there a way for the player to bubble the events to the browser? .
My application covers the whole browsing area.(flex). I've tried usign empty application without any events, still it is an issue(thought i'm stopping it from propagating to the browser )

I am looking into this right now. Please stay tuned for more info.

  • How can I get my recently installed Flash Player to operate with sound?

I tried accessing a UTube on a site and noticeed when I clicked on it, all I got was the video, no sound.
I then installed the latest version of ShockWave Flash Player and still didn't get the sound.
What more do I need to do?

Is the YouTube Flash player used or an HTML5 media player?
With a Flash player you should see the Flash player context menu if you right-click the player.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Unable to install adobe flash player/firefox/

hours of work alone and with amazon support and still unsucessful at installing adobe flash player. Message says it has been successfully installed, but every t ry at using amazon prime's streaming video gets message it is not installed.
Read that it cannot be straightforwardly installed on Windows 7 operating system when firefox is the browser.
I hope someone can provide me with clear, straightford ward directions about how to do this. Think of telling your grandmother how: mini steps, where to look for the icons or directions you are talking about. single click or double....
Trust me, I worked with an Amazonll technician for over one hour, tried to install aat least 20 times and failed (remember it "tells me" it has been installed, but it ain't working)
    So, what are the secrets?
More thanks than you can possibly imagine from one frustrated firefox user.
    Marie

There are two different versions of Flash, the '''''ActiveX''''' version for IE and the '''Plugin''' version used by most other browsers.
1.Download the Flash Plugin version setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    4. Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />

  • Adobe flash player crashes browser

The flash player I use started craching just itself now it crashes both firefox and IE. Ive already reinstalled it what now.

The next thing to check would be your McAfee add ons that are in each browser.
You didn't say which McAfee program you have Installed, but try disabling any and all of the addons.
There is also a Virus Scan that is known to cause problems, but you double click the icon in your system tray and see if you have it.
Click Advanced Menu, Configure, Computer & Files. The Virus Scan should be in the right-hand windows.
Some users have the scriptproxy, Toolbar, etc.
Turning these off and see if that helps.
Also when you say the browsers are crashing, explain exactly what is happening. Anti-Virus addons in the browser can conflict with the Websites and also Flash Player, since Flash Player works thru the browser. In fact addons can conflict with each other.
That would be the only thing that I know that is left to check.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Player in browser goes blank

I've been running an Internet radio station since 2006 and use the Flash Player for the audio playback stream in my browser and have never had any problems until now.
About three weeks ago, no matter what version of Flash Player is being used (and also including YouTube videos and similar), after approximately 4-7 hours of continuous play all of the Flash Players stop (in the instances when I was listening when a player stopped, a buzz is heard when the audio stops) and every browser page with a Flash Player displays a blank space where the player goes (In YouTube a circle with an exclamation mark displays). I have done various troubleshooting and testing for the past several weeks, but can't seem to work out a fix for this problem.
As a reference here is a screen shot of the player displaying a blank field:
    http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/5/14/2442263//Screen_shot_2011-01-25_at_4.23.30_AM.png
Here's an additional screen shot displaying the Flash Player* normally:
    http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/5/14/2442263//Screen_shot_2011-01-26_at_2.00.40_PM.png
*Note, Flash Player is the bottom player. Top Player is Windows Media Player and doesn't play on a Mac, so is not of issue.
Any insight or fix for this problem would be appreciated. Thank you
MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.6.6)   Safari Browser 5.0.3

I am very surprised no one has responded to this post? Certainly, there must be others who have experienced this problem. I am, however, assuming this may be a problem isolated to Mac users with the i7 quad processor using Snow Leopard OSX version10.6.6, as I never encountered this problem before I had the new processor and OS.
I recently tested on Google Chrome and the problem happens there too, so Safari (v5.0.4), Firefox (v3.6.15) and Google Chrome (v10.0.648.151) all have instances of Adobe Flash failing after anywhere from 4-9 hours or so, give or take.
Can anyone shed any light on how to remedy this problem? I would like to get back to Adobe Flash working infinitely, as before, and never stopping.
    Thank you.

  • Flash player freezes browser after watching 2 or 3 videos

I have been having this problem for a while now and it is beginning to drive me insane.
I am using Chrome with Flash player version 11.8.800.170 on Windows 7 32 bit
When I boot up my computer I am able to watch 2 or 3 videos, occasionally a few more, with no problems. When I load another, the video will load and play for about 10 sec before it freezes. At this point the whole browser will stop working. Webpages already open will look normal and the browsers seems fine unless I try to open another tab or refresh a page. Nothing will load. The only way to fix the problem is to reboot the whole computer and start again.
I have tried on Firefox as well with the same problem. I followed the guide on how to uninstall and load a previous flash version to see if that fixed it but wasn't successfull.
It might be unrelated but when I tried to sign in via the adobe forum page to create this topic Chrome reported the link as not found. I have had to use my fiance's Mac with the same internet connection in order to post this.
Any ideas are extremely welcome! I really hope someone is able to help me, like I said, this problem is driving me nuts!

1.) Do you have the same issue in other browsers?
2.) Do you see an improvement when you disable hardware acceleration (instructions in the troubleshooting guide below):
         https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html
3.) Are you using any ad-blocking, anti-tracking, video capture plugins or software firewalls?  If so, what are they (include versions)?
If you're still stuck, please follow the directions in the guide on providing the dxdiag report and additional information about what you tested and saw.

  • How to set Flash Player to use alternate sound device?

How is the Flash Player configured to use a different sound
output device? The default sound device goes to small speakers on
the computer. There is an alternate sound device that connects to a
high quality audio system via SPDIF. I don't want to set the
system-wide default audio to the output going to the audio system
because it is not turned on all the time. I have configured
specific media appications to play through the audio system, but I
want the "default sounds" from the computer to use the computer
    speakers.
I can't find the settings in the Flash Player to cause it to
use the alternate sound device. There is a settings dialog that
includes exactly the necessary settings for a microphone (allowing
a choice from any devices). Where is the setting for speakers?

I filed a bug report to be able to change the audio output device in flash player under Key: FP-6588.

    - reinstalling Flash 10.1 ( uninstall/install)
    - uninstall Firefox/Flash, Repair Permissions, install Firefox/Flash 10.1, Repair Permissions, run Firefox, still crashes

  • RTMPT causes Flash player and browser to freeze

I'm having a problem with outgoing RTMPT connections.
Whenever I connect to "rtmpt://server/app/file" (or when specifying
rtmp:// which falls back onto rtmpt:// due to firewall
restrictions), the Flash player plugin causes the browser to freeze
for 5-15 seconds and then proceeds with the playback normally. This
affects all browsers on Windows with Flash plugin versions 9.0.115
or 9.0.124 only. MacOSX is working perfectly fine. I'm using Flash
    Media Server version 3.0.2.
I discovered that when activating an HTTP proxy server (I'm
using Squid Cache 2.6.STABLE14) in Internet Explorer, the RTMPT
traffic gets redirected through it smoothly and the issue as
    described above does not occur.

  • Trying to instal adobe flash player & firefox says theres missing plugins but when I try to install them it says no suitable plugins found so I can't install AFP

I've been having problems with my internet timing out when I try to access pages & firefox says I may have an old version of adobe flash player which is unstable so I've been trying to install a new version. Firefox then says theres missing plugins but when I click on the install missing plugins button it says no suitable plugins were found so I don't know how to get it to install AFP
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== everytime I try to install Adobe Flash Player

Try this simple fix... I just got it to work...
First visit [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html] download and run the flash player uninstaller.
After that I simply ran the standalone flash player installer to be found here... [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe]
This fix doesn't solve the auto-update issue in Firefox, but at least your Flash will hopefully work again in Firefox until a more permanent fix is made available from Mozilla...
