see the subject - that's it, I would just like for videos to play, please

Windows 8 comes with Flash Player for IE. Running Windows Update should update it. "Should"... doesn't mean "will" though.
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking the following link.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
    Save it... don't run it.
Perform a "clean install" following the instructions at the following link:

  • Is Flash Player fully compatible with Windows 7?

Is the latest version of Flash Player fully compatible with the 32bit release version of Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8?
I am asking this because since I reinstalled Windows 7 32bit and Flash Player I am experiencing problems with Flash.
My action centre informs me that I have a problem with Flash Player and I should go to Adobe's website and address the problem.
I have uninstalled Flash and reinstalled Flash as Microsoft and Adobe advise, several times but I still get problems.
I uninstalled the 64bit version of Windows 7 because Flash was causing too many problems.
Since reinstalling the 32bit version I have had several reports of Flash Player not working properly, Skype reporting problems and IE8
using compatibility view when I view some web-pages with Flash in them.
When attempting to view Netto's webpages Flash fails to work and I am told to download the latest version of Flash again.
I do not remember this problem occuring with either previous versions of Flash or with Windows 7 RC.
Is anyone else using the Professional version of Windows 7 32bit experiencing the same or similar problems?

Apple does not have email support. If you're not getting the email verification from Apple, check your anti-spam filters, on your computer and with your email provider, to make sure that emails from Apple aren't being blocked. You can also try the Security Questions option rather than the email authentication. See:

  • Install only 32bit version of AX Flash Player for IE8 and Windows 7 64bit

    Hi,
For several reasons I would like to install only the 32bit version of Flash Player AX for IE 8 and Windows 7 64bit.
It was possible to do it when the installers where separated but I see no information how to do that now.
It is very convenient for me to have my 64 bit IE 8 browser without Flash that I use to browse and not get annoyed by the flash on the web and use the 32bit IE 8 on youtube, vimeo, etc when flash is necessary.
I hope the option to choose which version to install will get back if it is not possible now.
Please let me know if such kind of request should be made somewhere else as new feature or whatever.
    Thank you.

That was the first thing I tried. It either works on both or disables on both versions. Something is messed with the settings as well, or has been made that way on purpose. Also the next thing I tried was to uninstall only the part residing in System 32 (leaving the one in SysWOW64) but the result was both not working after the uninstall. It remained in Programs but wasn't working anymore in both versions of IE 8. So I just put back the latest 32bit version which is not security wise..

  • HOWTO: Force-update Flash Player for IE10 on Windows 8

Tired of waiting around for Microsoft to issue a Windows update for Flash Player since... well... forever?
Windows 8 ships with Flash Player version 11.3.378.5 while now we're already at version 11.5.502.146!  Adobe won't update this ActiveX control if you're using Windows 8, because apparently Microsoft has to release the update themselves.  They promised to release such updates frequently, however, it's been many months and not one update had ever been released as of yet.
Here's how you can bud in, get in there, and update the ActiveX control yourself:
Notice the version you have installed right now by looking at #2 on this page: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Download the new Flash.ocx files (32-bit and 64-bit) here: EDIT: Link removed
Copy these instructions into Notepad or similar, because you must close all running instances of Internet Explorer right now.
    Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
Right-click Flash.ocx and go to Properties.
Go to the Security tab, and then click Advanced.
    Click Change next to "Owner:"
Type the following into the box that appeared and then click OK: Administrators
Under "Permission entries:" double-click "Administrators", check the box "Full control" and then click OK.
Click OK and then click Yes.
    Click OK.
    Rename Flash.ocx to Flash-original.ocx
From the ZIP file you downloaded you will see a folder called System32. In there, copy the Flash.ocx file to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
That was for the 32-bit version that gets used.  Now repeat steps 3 through 12 for the 64-bit version which also gets used, by replacing all occurrences of "System32" above with "SysWOW64".  If you do not find a folder on your computer at C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash then you actually do not need to repeat the steps for the 64-bit version, because your Windows 8 edition is 32-bit
And PRESTO!  Revisit #2 on this page and notice the new version number detected: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html
Granted; there are version number entries to update in the registry but I doubt that this makes any difference.  Best to leave those as-is in case an update finally comes along.
    ENJOY!

@Chris: That's odd.  I too installed Windows 8 Pro x64 since launch and have been receiving/installing all windows updates including "Patch Tuesday" of every month. In fact I just checked my update history and they all show success -- none failed.  Can you find any specific KB # of any update that Microsoft had issued which included updates to Flash?  Also, I just checked with a friend and they too have the factory-shipped version of Flash still installed while being fully-updated.
I do see the following installed as well however the actual Flash player version was still the old one:

  • Download Flash Player for Steam with Chrome

I have an issue with your Flash Player download page. I don't know when you changed it, but it once was possible to download install Flash Player from that site before.
Because Google Chrome already has FP integrated (Thanks! I already knew that, why else would I go on that site?) it's simply not possible to download the setup which I need for Steam's Webkit.
Please fix it and add something like "DOWNLOAD SETUP ANYWAY" to that notice page. Because I'd like to view game trailers in Steam.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
When visiting http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using the Chrome browser, the sentence 'Do you have a different operating system or browser?' is a link to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ where you can download the Flash Player.  On this page, select the OS you have and then either the ActiveX (IE) or Plugin (other browsers) versions of Flash Player.
Althernatively, you can download the install files directly using the download links posted here http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_header.

  • Flash Player installation problems with Windows Embedded (WES/XPe)

I've deployed 13 HP T5740 Thin Clients at my office, each have Windows Embedded Standard (WES/XPe) and with Internet Explorer 7.
With limitations on VMWare servers and sound, users need to view webinars on their local client. When I try to install any version of Adobe Flash Player, the installation instantly fails...no reason given.
Is there a known issue with this? And is there a workaround?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

It's not working at the mo and it says under run without permissions - Shockwave Flash Object Enabled version 0.0.0.1
Just tried to download version 10.2.153.1 and now the download manager opens but then just 'hangs' - nothing happens.
On Firefox, version 10.2.153.1 installed and enabled OK. No problem playing clips with Firefox.

  • Flash player for 64 bit Windows 7

I have Windows 7 with the 64 bit that also lets you use the 32 bit. It automatically updated to the latest version of flash player but now my settings manager won't work. I have to clear it before I can get on Facebook. Even if it has nothing in the settings manager, I still have to do it. It will not let me adjust the bar either. I use the 32 bit and that was what was on when it updated. Can anyone help?

Which page in settings manager do you have to clear?  What happens when you try to go into Facebook without doing this first?  Does the page take a long time to load?  You might want to try resetting Flash Player settings and cache using the manual steps listed in this FAQ:
How do I clear my Flash Player cache and settings?

  • Flash player not working with windows vista

    I cannot use the
flash player or the adobe reader on my computer. I haev high speed cable and windows vista system. I was advised by my isp to uninstall norton software and to try to install the adobe flash player again. I am given the instruction to download and it says its downloading. I go to youtube for example, it will continue to tell me to update to the flash player. Also, i somehow have bing as my toolbar on my computer and am not able to follow the direction of the instructions to trouble shoot online. I still have the norton un installed and cannot use the flash player or the flash reader. Can I get some help?

Hi, thanks. I would Uninstall and Install again, but use these instructions.
Download and SAVE the Uninstaller to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then download the Installer for IE and SAVE to your Desktop:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Use the link that is shown for Windows, Internet Explorer and the Installer EXE
Close all browsers, disable any messenger services in the system tray(area near the clock). Depending on which Anti-Virus/Firewall program you use, you may need to disable those. Some will block the download of the ActiveX Control for Flash Player in IE.
Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) your computer, then run the Installer for IE, When finished, Reboot your computer.
You can test each browser here and you should see the Flash logo animation and the Flash Player version.

  • Is Flash Player 15 free with Windows 8 on a Toshiba laptop?

I was using Spotify, and while it worked, it suddenly stopped. I small screen came up that said something to the effect of "you need to update flash player" or "you need to download Flash Player" and I clicked the button that said something like "get flash player" and the music suddenly started playing again. Did I do something wrong? Was that download free and was it okay to do it that way?

That depends on what browser you are using.
Internet Explorer on Windows 8 has Flash Player embedded; you need to run Windows Update to update the Flash Player version.
Google Chrome has Flash Player embedded; you need to update Chrome in order to get an updated Flash Player version.
for all other browsers you need to download and install the Flash Player plugin.
And yes, all Flash Player versions are free.

  • How do I install Flash Player for Firefox on Windows 8?

I installed Windows 8 today on my Intel Core i3 6GB RAM 64-bit machine, and cannot get Firefox 18.0.1 to run Flash.
I kept getting "PlayerPlugin_11_5_502_146.exe" memory errors.
I've gone to http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer.html and tried the 11.6 Beta releases offered to no avail - although the error changed to "PlayerPlugin_11_5_602_146.exe".
Help? (But, please be gentle - I might be a "5" on the "PC Tech Competency Scale to 10".)
    Many thanks,
