Flash Player has to be installed every day

Every time I turn my computer on, I have to re install Flash Player. This occurs on Firefox and Opera. I uninstall via the Flash Player icon, not just in Control Panel. This happened on version 14 and also now on 15. What is the fix? I run Vista .

What about if you tried those steps, and it's still not working?  Have the same issue; flash keeps uninstalling itself, and tried that solution.  Reinstalled flash, said it worked.  Downloaded the thing from Windows, downloaded the attachment and extracted to the same folder, ran it as admin.  Little DOS box seemed to work fine.  Restarted the computer, and yet again, flash is missing.  I get nothing at all when trying to view videos.  Becoming very frustrating!  Using the latest Firefox, Windows Vista (64-bit), and never had issues before.  All was fine till quite recently (past week).  So, what next?
Edit to add:  Tried, after restarting the computer, to reinstall Flash Player, and no wit won't install AT ALL.  keeps saying it's "already in use", and then trying to open multiple new downloads to install it.  Becoming extremely frustrating.
Have also tried to install an earlier version from the site, but every time I try, I get the messagethat it can't install because it's not the latest version.

For a few months now, I have had to install Flash Player every time I start my laptop. I have posed the question 'why?' on various web sites, all to no avail. For some reason I have never come across this site. Yesterday, I followed the instructions you give for installing a bit of software (Subinacl), into C: Program Files/Windows Resource Kits/Tools.
After installing what was suggested, Flash Player showed up in the Opera 'DeveloperTools> Plug ins', as Enabled.
This morning, on start up, Flash Player has vanished again. It is showing in 'Control Panel', but has vanished from Opera. Neither does it work in Firefox (it is missing from the Firefox plug in section.).
I have uninstalled Flash Player numerous times via the correct site and have even used Revo Uninstaller this last time, but it will still not stay installed.
    Suggestions please

Try it from a fresh start:
Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as".
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove the Flash Player and Shockwave plugins.
    Go to: C/Windows/System32.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
    Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64.
If there's a Macromed folder there, delete it.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key+R and type "regedit", then click OK)
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE delete the Macromedia folder.(If it's there)
Under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software delete the Macromedia folder. (If it's there)
    Close the Registry Editor.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Then go to: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/ and download &install the Shockwave FULL installer for Windows (Internet Explorer)
Once it's installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

  • Flash Player needs to be reinstalled every day

Without any specific cause, I have found that to view most videos I must reinstall Flash Player every time I start my computer whether I use Firefox or IE. Of course Chrome works always no problems, but it is not my desired browser- that's firefox. Once installed Flash works perfectly. If the computer is shut down, restarted or allowed to sleep, Flash must be reinstalled. I can't find any settings that effect this issue. Very frustratring.

I have had the same problem with firefox on facebook. It has happened for the last couple weeks. I can receive gifts under requests and every game I try crashes. I can usually read my homepage. this is getting really bad. I have cleared caches, downloaded what I am told to download to update, and cleared history and cookies and still happens , and have been told to get rid of firefox. what is the problem? and when I sent reports , nothing. and sent emails to all the games and told them and asked for help and never get responses. should I through the computer out the window, or delete you? I know they keep changing things on the games and that usually crashes stuff on mine, but all the time? this sucks. and I probably won't get a response from you either, but if this continues I will have to say, bye bye. It's ridiculous..before the crashes, it would take me over 2 hours to do a game and work on it. there was life before this and will be afterwards. it also happens on my regular email..not the crashing, but so slow and the download goes up and goes way down to almost nothing and keeps doing that.please help us all..thanks.

  • 3 weeks after installing Yosemite Flash Player has stopped working

    Hi Apple Community,
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I installed OSX Yosemite about 4 weeks ago, no problems until now.
Just this week Flash Player has stopped working on an education site I belong to.
The college say there's no problem at their end or for the other students.
I am using Chrome which I understand updates Flash Player automatically; has there been an update this week or something that might have caused this problem?
I have tried every suggestion I can find on the internet:
    - uninstalling Flash
    - tried using Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera
    - installing the latest Flash
    - Rebooting
    - checking Flash is installed (it is)
Is there anything else I can try?
Or is Flash simply not compatible with Yosemite now?

    Hi ...
No problems with Flash on Safari 8 with Yosemite here so try testing with Safari.
First, make sure Allow Plug-ins is selected in Safari > Preferences > Security
Then from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click: Remove All Website Data
Now open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Then delete the cache. Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that doesn't help, troubleshoot Safari extensions.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.

My macbook pro says Shockwave Flash plug-in has crashed pretty much every day.  I have to shut the computer down and restart to fix it.  Is there any way I can keep this from happening?

Download the latest version from here ONLY:
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
also, make certain your Mac OS X software is completely up-to-date. There is a Trojan Horse that pretended to be a Flash update, and installed Flash with malware included. The latest security updates removes the malware and all older versions.

flash player has been installed multiple time without errors but bbc news website and even flash player help say it isn't. How do i get out of this loop? - using windows 7 ultimate and latest IE11

I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser?  It is already installed, I just don't use it.  I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it?  If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

I use chrome on windows. Every time I am on Facebook and I am trying to play a game I get a message that says flash player has stopped working. How do i make it work?

    Hi juderocks14,
Please first take a check with the other Players and see if they could play the MP4 file normally. If it can't be played, which means it might be corrupted. You may ask at the Bandicam side, or save the files again.
If issue insists, take a try with the Troubleshooter (For Windows 7, 8 and 8.1):
Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter
Fix Windows Media Player video, and other media or library issues
Or you may try to turn Windows Features on or off to reset Windows  Media Player:
Turn Windows features on or off (Before turn it on again, please remember to reboot first)

What happens if I turn off Windows Media Player?

  • Flash Player has stopped working...over and over again!

I get this message whenever I try and watch a video, same message for any page that uses flash, same message no matter which browser I'm using. This problem began with version 10, and I was using older versions of Flash Player until the other day when it would no longer work due to security issues--the message was that the older version of flash would no longer work...I needed to update the player. So, I did, and we're back to the same problem of Flash Player has stopped working message popping up over and over again. It doesn't seem to be the browsers since I get the same message in all of them. Possibly it is the hardware acceleration, but the two pathways to disabling hardware acceleration don't work.   When I try to see the current version (so I can right click and get to settings), the version won't show. The other strategy, right cliking on the video, also won't work because the video won't show after Flash Player has stopped working. My graphics card is a Radeon x1950, and I'm running 32 bit Vista Home Premium.  There is a ton of information on line about dealing with a balky flash player, but nothing that seems to address this problem. Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks in advance. RAS
PS, sorry, I wasn't paying attention and first posted this in "installing flash player."
One more thing....when I go to Flash Player Find Version page, the video does not show up, nor does the version....two big blank spaces.  But Flash Player is installed.

I replied over on your other post.
What browser are you using that is giving you the blank spaces on the versions page?

  • Flash Player Has Stopped Working!

All of a sudden, flash player has stopped working on my computer. I have a 64-bit PC, running Windows 7. Flash was running perfectly one day; the next it was not. Hasn't worked since. I've tried downloading the latest version and even installing an older version. Still does not work! (No changes or additions were made to the computer to cause this problem.) Any ideas as to what might be going on and how to fix it? I've done all I know how to do.

  • Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation - Facebook

When I look at pictures in facebook and click out of the pictures I have a message that pops up every time and sometimes shuts down Firefox. It says:
Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation. The following application on your computer or network: [object] is trying to communicate with this Internet-enabled location: www.facebook.com. To let this application communicate with the Internet, click settings. You must restate the application after changinn your settings.
I have run my virus scanner and have not picked anything up. My son downloaded music frost and wire frost (or something like those) and I deleted them before he downloaded anything but it somehow changed my settings of the search provider and home page on firefox and now this happens. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I think what I would do first, since there is a question on what was downloaded/Installed. Go to Control Panel/Programs & Features and take a look to see if any of those programs are Installed. If you see any that you don't want, remove them from there and restart your computer.
AVG can miss malware and don't find everything. I would go to www.malwarebytes.org and DOWNLOAD and SAVE to your Desktop the Free version. Then update it if it doesn't automatically. Then close the window.
Close all browser windows and Disable AVG. Then open Malwarebytes(MBAM) and run a full scan. If anything is found follow their instructions for removing it. When that is done, run a Quick scan with it.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb
Also, what pop up are you receiving? Who is it coming from? What Settings are you speaking of?

This is the latest version.  I used the uninstaller tool and did a fresh reinstall. I did not delete all the directories from the old setting, so that might be next, but I feel like I am grasping at straws here.
The firefox installation is also the latest version.  I am on Windows 7 x64. Dual Xeons.
I do notice the flash control panel says (32 bit), which seems odd.
I read where it said to try turning off hardware acceleration, but I do not have such a setting in my CP, and I cannot get the flash player to work long enough to use the old settings panel.
Can someone give me some steps to isolate the problem?

OK, now. I have not used facebook on firefox in a few days, and I have not seen the flash crashes.
In fact, no firefox crashes.  But I now have  20 in the last 5 minutes.
    Not flash, however.
Could be something else, or this could be all related.
Flash is working on my fitbit dashboard, so that's just *not* the problem. Or not at the moment.
This crash dump is quite a bit different from the last one.

I find it strange that months of agreeing to send these crash reports did not result in any notifications of updates to Firefox.
Confusion has been introduced because of the similar names for the same application. Microsoft Internet Explorer’s notification states that Adobe Flash Player is not up to date and requests download and installation of the same version that had already been installed within Mozilla Firefox, which refers to this application as Shockwave Flash (of the same version). PLEASE SEE IF USERS CAN BE PROVIDED WITH SOME DISCUSSION OF THE DISTINCTION BETWEEN THESE APPLICATIONS.
What appears currently as fixes on the Firefox website for this application does not fix the problem, but so far it seems that the download from Internet Explorer of Adobe Flash Player (today) fixes the problem of the plug-in. This fix was NOT mentioned within the Mozilla Firefox website. Please note that at this point I do not have enough experience using the “fix” to know if I will not continue to have other problems with this plug-in.
I'm running Windows XP (latest SP and updates) and cannot use Internet Explorer beyond Version 8, since the later versions are apparently only for later MS OSs. Updating to a later OS with older hardware I do not believe is advisable.

The following link was not working, and in fact access deteriorated since installing the latest Firefox plug-in for Adobe Shockwave Flash Player.

For example it stopped supplying daily data for longer Timelines. Then yesterday the panel on the left side of the webpage appeared garbled. I had been continually getting crashes of the Flash Player for months but never got any notice that I was not up to date.
