Flash player held hostage by utility "All My Apps";How do I free it from all my apps program?

I successfully downloaded Adobe Flash Player (I thought) to my hard drive from the Adobe site. However, when I tried to launch it I got a message indicating that it was not on my drive as a default program. I then went and opened "All My Apps program" and there it was, captured by this utility as if it was downloaded from there;"All My Apps" is a utility for free downloads also.It has become very aggressive and launches itself at start-up! I thought to remove it from the start-up program files but it continues and now has hijacked my Adobe, amongst other applications. Please advise a/some solutions! The version of Adobe Flash Player that I installed is:10,3,183,5 running on Windows 7, Internet Explorer 8, 64Bit,with no debugger.

Here's a link to the direct download, which should give you a .exe that you can double click.  Please note though that you need to run the 32 bit version of Internet Explorer with this version, not the 64 bit.

Why won't Flash Player work with Internet Explorer 64-bit?

I'm just gonna keep updating this as I can't really do anything else. I've found several more questions like mine with no answers. I did find one with an answer that mentions that it may be the video card acting up, so I'm gonna post a screenshot of my information.
    March 1, 2015
I posted this question on the 25th, and have yet to receive an answer. Because of this crashing problem, I can't do anything on my computer outside of play solitaire, and hang around Adobe communities looking for an answer. I've found several questions like mine (Mac, firefox, flash player constantly crashing) that have no answers either, and I'm getting upset. I've been floating around Mozilla and Apple's help sections, and there's no answer there either. How do I get an answer? Or is there just no fix for this issue and Flash player doesn't work on mac anymore? Is there another program that I can use in place of Flash player? I would very much like an answer, response, or anything cause I stuck here till then. Thank you for you time.

    Adobe Flash Player 16.0.0.305
    Hello,
Since   last week, Adobe Flash Player has not worked on my computer at all. I   can't watch any videos, and any webpage using Flash for the ads  crashes.  I tried using Adblock initially thinking that the ads were the  problem  because they have frozen my computer in the past. This did  nothing, so I  went through the trouble shooting guide for Flash on  Mozilla's website.  I removed all plugins, disabled hardware  acceleration, and even  uninstalled Firefox and Flash player then  reinstalled them again. It  still keeps crashing, and I don't know what  to do anymore.   Is there anything that can be done? Thank you for your  time.

    Hi Chelsea,
The USER forums are a forum for users, while Adobe staff does participate it is not our primary responsibility to participate and we post in-between our regular work.  Since these are primarily user forums a time-frame for responding is not guaranteed, especially if another user is not familiar with the issue and can't be of assistance.
Please file a bug at https://bugbase.adobe.com/ and include as much information as possible, including attaching the entire contents of the crash log file.  Please post the bug number here and I'll triage the bug to get it to the right folks for investigation.

Can someone please provide a solution, by the look of the discussion board there are many many people with no flash player, and yet to see a single reply with any suggestions or solutions.

    Hi,
Flash Player 11.7.700.169 is extremely old and vulnerable to security attacks. What you're seeing is Apple blocking the old, out-dated, insecure version of Flash Player.  To avoid this, please install the latest version of Flash Player at https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer.

When I try and update my flash player, it downloads as a .mdlp file.  How do I fix this?

Apologies for the slightly pedantic answer, but in application terms, "closed" and "quit" are two different things. An application such as Safari can have several windows open, and each of them can be closed using the red button in the corner.
However, even after all windows are closed, the application is still running until you specifically quit it. You can tell it's still running by the small light under its icon in the Dock. If you hold your cursor down on the icon for a few seconds, you should see a pop up menu with the "Quit" option - click that to quit it. Or, click the icon once (this may launch a new window), then either go to the Safari menu and click Quit, or click cmd-Q, to completely quit the app.

  • Flash Player doesn't work for all accounts

I am having a problem like others as described in this topic:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?forumid=44&catid=184&threadid =1262196&enterthread=y
Namely, Flash Player works fine for my main administrative
account, but does not work for my other accounts (I am running
Windows XP Home Edition). As suggested in the above topic, I have
tried uninstalling Flash (for all users) then re-installing it.
This did not help. The above topic also suggests that my registry
may be corrupted and referenced the following technical article for
    a solution.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=fb1634cb
That article instructs you to use a Microsoft download called
SubInACL to repair the registry. However, the article specifically
states "Note: Do not run the Microsoft SubInACL tool on Windows XP
Home. This tool should only be used with Windows XP Pro". So it
will not help me since I'm running XP Home Edition.
Is there any solution to the corrupted registry problem if
    you're running XP HomeEdition?

I had the same problem none of that works...
    This is what I did:
Using the adm profile, go to the windows folder, find the
regedit icon, open it, then scroll all the way down until you find
the shockwave files. Right click on each and the click on
permissions, give each user persmission and do it for all the
shockwave flash floders you see, it should be about 9.
    good luck.

  • Flash Player Plug-In broke across all browsers.  OSX

Ever since the last Flash update, it will no longer run in any browser.  It shows an error that the plug-in is broke.  Steps I have done:
    -Trashed all prefs
    -Uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player
    -Repaired permissions
Nothing works.  I created a new User on his machine and it works in that account.  I don't want to just wipe out his account and move him to a new account.  I'm hoping there is something else I can do to fix the problem.
    Any ideas?

Subject: Flash Player Flash Plug-in Crashes across all browsers despite
    re-install
I support a bunch of Mac users and one of them (10.5.7 MBP) ran into this same
problem last week with both Safari and Firefox crashing with the flash player
plugin. If I removed the Flash Player plugin and the .xpt file there was no
crashing but no flash either. I used a combination of different suggestions and
here's what finally worked (so far anyway):
Show package contents for Firefox/Contents/MacOS/components and Get Info
changing perms for read/write for everyone.
Re-installed shockwave plugin using the customized full install (this made no
sense to me since I had made no change to shockwave but as I was testing the
browsers I was prompted to install it, so I did)
    Repaired permissions
The version of the Flash Player plugin that ended up installed on this Mac is
10.0.12.36. I started off installing the newer and recommended 10.0.22.87
version but it didn't fix anything. I inadvertently went backwards as I moved
plugins in and out of the Library. I didn't want to change anything once it was
working so I left it at the older version. I hope this helps someone else.

  • PLEASE FIX FLASH PLAYER.. once and for all.

ok,,, can someone from this company PLEASE release an update
to flash player that WORKS CONSITENTLY with WINDOWS VISTA x64... I
mean this is rediculous.. how long has vista been out now??? what
is the big deal.. every couple of hours its the same thing internet
explorer always crashes because of flash9.ocx or whatever the damn
file name is.. and generally just after I wrote a 10 paragraph
email or something.. I mean.. this thing stinks. I have to use the
damn thing because everything on the damn internet requires it...
so Im stuck.. but its junk and continuously crashes the browser..
the most aggrevating part of VISTA by far is YOUR product.. please
    FIX IT..
    thank you.

Hah! That's what i was thinking when i wrote it. However, you
should know that you'll never be taken seriously unless you spell
correctly (or you're me) and without using cap lock. You're looking
    for assistance from human beings.
Also, look up 64 bit operating systems on wikipedia or
    google.
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/systemreqs/
"Microsoft® Windows® XP with Service Pack 2 or
Windows Vista™ Home Premium, Business, Ultimate, or
Enterprise (certified for 32-bit editions) "
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit#Software_availability
"64-bit systems sometimes lack equivalents to software that
is written for 32-bit architectures. The most severe problem is
incompatible device drivers. Although most software can run in a
32-bit compatibility mode (also known as an emulation mode, e.g.
Microsoft WoW64 Technology), it is usually impossible to run a
driver (or similar software) in that mode since such a program
usually runs in between the OS and the hardware, where direct
    emulation cannot be employed. "
Now since i have A 32 bit system myself, i am not very
involved in this matter, but it looks from the above that you can
look into an emulation mode, if it really is that much of an issue.
I'm trying to help you, but it's getting very late here.

  • Any test web sites to insure browser/Flash player/other is adequate for all Captivate content

My prior subject header was a little confusing, so I hope it's okay I start over again and state more clearly what I need.
I have hundreds of users accessing Adobe Captivate 5.5 training.  Many users have no trouble viewing the content.  SOME users have trouble, specifically when viewing a video inserted into the training.  It just won't play for them.  These users have different browsers, so it would seem the type of browser is not an issue.
What I am hoping for is ...
a web site that lets users know they have everything needed to run any content within a Captivate session.  For example, as you know, Adobe has a web site to inform the user what version of Flash Player they have (if any).  I would be great to have a site that would let the user know if they meet the minimum requirements (not just Flash Player) to participate successfully in a training.
Is anyone aware of such a site?  Or have ideas on how to build one?
Thank you, and I'm sorry for not being clearer on the prior post.
    Best regards,
    Mark

Captivate outputs (generally) as Flash. So as long as users have a recent version of the Flash player, they should technically be able to play back the content.
However, of course, online delivery depends on the user's internet connection. What if you're feeding them video and their connection is slow?
For similar concerns, we point our users to speedtest.net and ask them to post their results. Sometimes that helps illustrate their slow connection means a slow video delivery.
And, of course, the older the computer, the less-fast it'll be in rendering the course. My oldest computer, used occasionally and with frustration by my 5 y/old, plays Flash sites horribly - and it's a 1.6ghz computer with 512mb RAM and XP...with latest browsers and Flash player. You can always ask for their computer spec, but that's not an easy thing to determine via software/website.
So you can create a simple 'minimum requirements' page that you can point to...but one that actually does a diagnostic...well, aside from simple Flash player/version detection (which is fairly simple), that's a complex task.

  • Flash Player wants to be updated all the time

I am running FireFox 3.6.9, and have upgdated Flashplayer to 10.1 r53 (the latest) I keep getting notified when checking my plugin updates that Flash wants to be updated and is vulnerable with more info message of
This Plugin version has a security vulnerability etc.
Is this just a glitch or should I just give up with flash player, it seems to work fine but if it has a security problem I will just give it a miss as I have had enough security problems with other programs and do not need any with this.
Can anyone advise what I should do with this?

Hi lasaboy   Glad you received a reply from Firefox. I had not heard they were updating with the previous version of Flash Player. The previous versions of Flash Player must always be Uninstalled however. I'll check that info out.
Thanks for sharing, as many users are having problems with Firefox and Flash Player 10.1.

  • Why are egreetings telling me I need Adobe flash player when I have already downloaded the app?

Why are egreetings telling me that I cannot view a card because I haven't got Adobe flash player when I got the app from the store recently, I am new to the iPad and being a silver surfer I could be doing something wrong. Please help.

There is no Flash Player for the iPad. I don't know what you downloaded, but if it was from the iTunes Store, it wasn't Flash Player. If you search this or the Using iPad forum for "flash", you'll find a number of suggestions as to alternatives to Flash Player, such as Puffin, but whether any will work with the card site you wish to use I can't say; none of the solutions work with all sites.
