Flash player in firefox
I understand there is a problem installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player while using Mozilla Firefox. When can we expect a solution? Thank you.
What kind of "a problem"?

Flash Player for Firefox on Win 8 / 64 bit
I'm trying to install Flash Player for Firefox on a Windows 8, 64 bit system, but have been having no end of grief.
I've finally traced the problem back to the origin, and it's happening because when I enter the info on the download page, it serves up the installer for the 32 bit version instead.
It does in fact verify on the page that I'm requesting and downloading the 64 bit version, but what I receive and then install is 32 bit. And consequently, I can't get Flash Player to work in Firefox.
Is there any way at all I can access the real 64 bit Flash Player for Firefox / Windows 8?There is no separate 32-bit and 64-bit installer; on a 64-bit system the installer will automatically install both 32-bit and 64-bit players.
Download the installer from http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe -
How Update Flash Player for Firefox Without Running Firefox?
I have had a problem with Firefox freezing when I try to do just about anything other than simple browsing for at least two years. Updates don't help nor disabling all add-ons, nor reinstalling, etc. Nobody can figure out how to fix it so I use it as-is. I would like to update the Adobe Flash Player add-on but Firefox freezes every time I try. Is there a way to update the Flash Player in Firefox with actually running Firefox?
Thanks
Running XP SP3 and latest Firefox.
Also running IE8 using the latest Flash Player. That worked, thanks so much. Now all I have to do is figure out where I can find similar files for all the other plugins that are outdated, Acrobat, Java, DivX, etc.
Thanks again. -
Cannot install Flash Player for Firefox
I am running Windows XP HE with SP4. IE and the latest version of Firefox are installed.
In both IE and Firefox, on attempting to install Flash Player with the standard link, I get an error message in a small window opens, title "getPlus+(R): Error," text "Unable to load a GUI," "OK" box. I got around this by locating a standalone installation for IE, which downloaded an installation file to my computer. However, this does not work in Firefox, even when obtaining access to that link from Firefox. The file executes, but Flash Player still shows as not installed in Firefox.
I cannot find any separate standalone installer for Flash Player for Firefox.
This error message appears to be generated by the Adobe Installer, a getPlus product. My thought was to uninstall the Adobe Installer, and try to start over. However, the Adobe Installer shows up in the list of installed programs reached through Control Panel, BUT clicking the button to uninstall the program does nothing. The program remains listed. I cannot find a location for the Adobe Installer program on my disk drive. As I said in my first message, Adobe DLM appears in the "Add/Remove Programs" dialogue box, but clicking the Remove button doesn't do anything. The screen flickers for a couple of seconds, and Adobe DLM remains listed as an installed program. There is no installed program listed under the description getPlus or NOS.
I found useful information at http://www.findmysoft.com/news/Patch-to-Fix-Critical-Adobe-Download-Manager-Vulnerability- Released/ . Not to put too fine a point on it, information at various locations shows that the DLM has been a troublesome program.
IE did not list Adobe DLM, getPlus, or NOS as an addon. Firefox listed "getPlusPlus for Adobe 16263" as a plugin. There was not other extension or plugin listed under Adobe DLM, getPlus, or NOS.
Based on the information at the link cited above, I tried the following. First, in Firefox, I disabled the getPlusPlus for Adobe 16263 plugin. Removing it was not an option. First, using services.msc, I disabled the getPlus Helper service. Removing it was not an option. Third, I deleted the directory c:\Program Files\NOS and its subtree. I did not find anything relevant in the Application Data directories.
I then went to the link on the Adobe Web site to install Flash Player. (I know, it's already installed, but I wanted to see if the DLM would now function.) This time, the first thing that happened upon clicking the link to install it was that the site completed a new installation of DLM. However, on proceeding to the installation of Flash Player itself, I got the same error message noted above, "A GUI could not be loaded." So nothing changed. Opening services.msc again, I noted that the getPlus Helper service had been reinstalled, and was no longer disabled. The c:\Program Files\NOS directory had been recreated. I tried manually starting the getPlus Helper service, and trying the installation again through the Adobe Web site. Same result, no help. And note that DLM is not being cleaned up automatically as part of this process, as is supposed to happen.
I'm thinking that a previous installation of DLM left behind some corrupted relic that is preventing it from running properly. Very likely an incorrect registry entry. But good luck finding that one without help.
NOS Micro has a link to "Contact Our Support Team" at http://www.nosltd.com/index.php/support . Maybe as a last resort see if they would respond? Note that I can't locate a way to get support from Adobe except by paying $39.95 per incident for telephone support.

Hello,
Last week i keep having issues with Adobe Flash player crashing Firefox.
Each time i visit a site that uses Flash i get the well known error message saying that Adobe Flash player has crashed.
I use Windows 8.1 x64
The latest Firefox version (33.0.2)
The latest Flash player
I have tried setting ProtectedMode to 0 & disabling hardware acceleration. Both methods didnt work for me.
Also i uninstalled Flash using Adobe's uninstaller and reinstalling the latest Flash version which didn't work either.
Any help is greatly appreciated because this is getting very frustrating. I never had any problems with Flash before untill this week.
I haven't installed or made any hard -/ software changes either.First, please return Flash Player to the standard configuration. Disabling ProtectedMode leaves you far more vulnerable to malware than you would be otherwise. If disabling hardware acceleration didn't resolve the issue, then you can enable it again.
First things first, from the Firefox menu, choose Help > Restart with Add-Ons Disabled. Do you continue to see the stability problem? If not, then we should look at what other plug-ins you have installed to see if they're causing compatibility issues. Likely candidates would be ad blockers and "download flash video" plug-ins.
If the crashes persist, go to about:crashes in the Firefox address bar. Click the first few links to submit the crash reports to Mozilla, then copy the resulting links to a response here.

Cannot install Flash Player in Firefox
Windows Vista 32 bit
Firefox 3.6.8
I have been trying for days to install the latest version of Flash Player for Firefox but keep going round in circles.
I download the Download Manager which then prompts me to restart Firefox.
When I do, the Download Manager starts but I then get a screen telling me that in order to use a proxy I need to enter an address and a port. I am not using a proxy. If I click OK the screen reappears. If I click cancel the downlaod is cancelled.
I have tried uninstalling previous versions, but this makes no difference.
Any advice would be appreciated.Don't use the download manager; download the installer directly from

I cannot get rid of the permissions box when using flash player in firefox
Hi
I have explored on the web about this problem. When attempting to use flash player in firefox, I cannot click on the allow button to allow my video camera and microphone to be used on sites. I CAN go to Global settings and allow the sites by putting their URL, but this makes no difference, the little permissions box keeps appearing and won't go away.
Anyone know what else to try if changing global setting permissions doesn't work?
BarryThis sounds like a bug. The direction that we're heading is to have the browsers present these permission dialogs, and to eliminate them from Flash completely. It is unlikely these native dialogs will support an "always allow" or "remember" option.
If you're not able to click the button in the dialog when it's displayed, that's problematic. We have a couple things in the pipeline to make the dialog bigger. Usually those problems are resolution specific, although if there's moving video behind the dialog, that can trip our security controls. We do a bunch of checks to ensure that the dialog you're clicking isn't obscured by something else, so that we're sure you know that you're clicking and approve button.
There is an improvement in the pipeline to make these dialogs bigger. They were originally designed for 640x480 screens (they've been around *that* long), and they're way too small on modern high-density displays.
Anyway, you're welcome to file a bug at http://bugbase.adobe.com/. Please be sure to include a link to the problem content, and the configuration you're using (OS and browser version, and screen resolution would be particularly useful -- these are often resolution-dependent issues). -
HT202681 Is Flash Player only for Safari? Do I need Flash Player for Firefox?
Is Flash Player only for Safari? Do I need Flash Player for Firefox?
A Flash tip to help avoid security issues later: There are known scammer who fake a "Flash is out of date" pop-up that leads you to a site that installs malware or can compromise your private data. If you see a pop-up in FF saying you need to upgrade Flash, the only safe thing to do is go to this official Adobe site:
https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and follow the downloads instructions there. It will show the currently available version. You can quickly tell what version is on your computer by doing System Preference > Flash Player and selecting the "Updates" tab.
Do NOT choose to update Flash from any pop-up. Here are several articles with more info on the "Fake Flash" issue:
http://www.thesafemac.com/?s=flash&submit=Search
Fake Flash pop-ups commonly contain grammatical or spelling errors. One common one is "Failure to install this update may cause your computer to crush." Using only the official Adobe site I linked plus checking your current version via System Preferences will avoid your having to figure out if a pop-up is fake. -
How to use in Firefox, install is ok.
Hi,
Adobe Flash Player is a plugin that allows browsers such as Firefox to display Flash media on web pages.
Open your simulation in web browser, if there is any flash content , it will display in that.
I hope, I was able to answer your question if not then please provide some more information on this.

Audio problems in Flash Player and Firefox
Hi everyone!
I have a problem that has been plagueing me for nearly a year now, all audio in all videos i play in Firefox goes out of synch, the video will start ok then at around the two minute mark the audio starts to lag until it's completely left the visual playback behind, the only solution is to keep clicking the video back a few seconds to re-align the audio, this is temp as the audio will slowly drop out of synch again!
This problem has been driving me crazy!
It doesn't happen in Chrome or IE only Firefox. I have posted thread after thread on tech forums but nobody has yet been been able to help, i'm using the latest Firefox. the latest Flash Player (uninstalled and re-installed properly) all my drivers are bang up to date, all caches cleared all....in fact you name it iv'e done it!
This was never an issue until about a year ago, nothing has been installed hardware wise and the only software installed has been updates for ongoing programmes!
Help me Adobey wan kenobi, your my only hope!

Hardware acceleration on or off makes absolutely no difference, i recently tried watching videos in a 100% fresh install and new profile in firefox (no addons) and the problem still occurs albiet a little slower in the new install, ie it takes a little longer to drop out of synch.
There is a noticeable difference in framerate just before the problem occurs, like a very tiny hiccup, from that point on the audio gets left further and further behind, it's remedied by clicking back a few seconds on the video play bar but this is only temporary, lately i've even noticed it happening with live streams from the BBC, once again i must stress, this doesn't happen in Chrome or Opera or IE. -

Hi Friends,
I face some mouse issues with the later versions of the Firefox (6 and above). When a flex application is executed in a Firefox, It runs on the flash player in the browser. Installing Flash Player on Firefox
I'm using the most recent Firefox and I noticed that the plugin was no longer there, I then tried several times to install it.
The download worked fine and the installer seemed to go though the mototions but when I then checked the plugin list it wasn't there so for some reason the installation isn't working or it's not initalising...of course I'm willing to accept that it could be a Firefox issue. It is the most recent Flash Player that I've been trying to install and I imagin that an auto update may have caused the issue if the problem is with Flashplayer rather then Firefox.
Is anyone able to give me an idea as to which is at fault?Hello,
Please try to do a clean install of Adobe flash player

Hey guys,
I have just used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove IE 9 (I think ... it's the standard built in IE taht comes with my Win7 Home Premium 64 bit OS). I had flash player installed in IE. Upon uninstalling all flash components from my computer using Revo, I did an "advanced" search to find all leftover registry entries and files/folders associated with Flash. While doing this, Revo had warned me of some files that "have recently been added" (I believe since initial installation of Flash), and gave me the option of deleting these one at a time. I cannot remember what these files included, but looking at a posting from another person, i seem to recognize some files that I *may* have deleted while removing with Revo:
Flash10d.ocx
Flash10e.ocx
FlashUtil10e.exe
GetFlash.man
install.log
swflash.inf
uninstall_activeX.exe
(again, I have no idea if ANY of the above were the actual ones I deleted, but I seem to remember seeing a couple of these at least listed to me as options to delete)
I proceeded to remove ALL files from my computer.
Then, upon installing Firefox and, subsequently installing flash on it, I noticed that some flash websites load and work properly, whereas other ones don't. I also been to the adobe confirmation page stating taht I have successfully installed and am running Adobe Flash player. Is this simply a case of missing one key component in flash?
Before the entire uninstall mission I did, I remember revo as listing more than 1 Flash programs installed. I believe I had seen two flash 11 programs installed in Revo, which I thought were just simply duplicate installations. I vaguely remember one of them being listed as Flash player 11 and the other as Flash player 11 activex? (both were removed off my system).
Are these files different and did I, in fact, need both of these installed?
Anyway, I have no idea where to go from here. Help please!
Thanks! So what Flash Player version do you have currently installed?

What exactly do you see on sites that don't work? -
Opera 11.0 will not upgrade it's flash player however firefox will
Ok i'm going to give my information. I have windows xp sp3 pro 32bit. I upgraded internet explorer to flash 10.3.183.7 and I upgraded firefox 3.6 but opera will not upgrade. I do not get a error notice but when I do the upgrade and then check at the adobe site firefox has upgaded but opera hasn't. I have administrative rights so what do i do now? I tried having firefox download and save then open. I tried having opera do the same and i tried just having opera open using run?
Ok this is what i found. I have been on this for most of the day. I found out that opera is using a firefox plugin for flash in program files/mozilli/firefox/plugins/nppdf32.dll. Now firefox is using the flash plugin that i downloaded in windows/system32/macromed/flash. I have no clue how to link them and the plugin folder in opera is empty. In the windows system folder that has flash in there are four objects, two are active x for internet explorer and what's left is a flashutil10w_ plugin and flash10w.ocx'. I have no clue if I can link this folder to opera. i was going to try and download a flash player for portble opera browsers but I'm too confused. Can anyone give me a idea? i have looked at almost every opera flash instalation guide and the more i look at the more confused i am. Thanks I know this is not great reading. I'll stop back later.
