Flash player install vs Mac OS 10.10

I recently installed Mac OS 10.10, now Flash player is outdated and the udate installer crashes. I am absolutely stuck.

Hi Doug,
Based on other posts, I'm assuming this is the online installer that is crashing.  Please delete all install files previously downloaded (delete them from the trash bin also), download the installer again, reboot your system and try installing again.  Please let me know if this does, or does not, work.

    Hello,
This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, OR
Download the stand-alone installer posted at the bottom of the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If the behaviour reproduces, please clear the browser's cache and try downloading again.
    Thank you.

  • Flash Player Install Problems - Mac

I've tried installing the latest (10.3) flash player and, while it says that it successfully installed, when I go to the flash player page where it tells me what version I have (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) it still says 10.0.22.87 and when I try to watch anything on hulu it prompts me to install 10.3 again.
I'm on a Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 and am using the latest version of firefox.
I've tried using firefox and safari, have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and nothing seems to work. It just says it has installed successfully and the same problems happen. I am at a loss. Any help is much appreciated!

  • How to check for Adobe flash Player installed on Mac with Applescript?

    Hi All,
I am trying to installl the AdobeFlashPlayer programmatically, before that i need to chk Whether if its already installed?, if yes then i need to get the version of the same. Since flash player will be added as a plugin, i need to chk the same in Safari and Firefox browsers. Pls suggest how to achieve the same using Applescripts (without using SWFObjects).

    try this:
    tell application "System Events"
              try
set v to short version of disk item "/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player2.plugin"
              on error
-- no plugin installed, do whatever
              end try
    end tell

  • Flash Player Install Problem - Mac

    Hi Folks,
I can see that this issue has been addressed many times over, but the suggested solutions I've followed aren't helping.
    First my system:
    iMac running Snow Leopard (10.6.8)
    I'm using Firefox 18.0
    What I've done so far:
Uninstalled previous versions of Flash Player
Checked the Library to delete any related Flash files (there weren't any)
Downloaded the new Player installer (several times)
Rebooted the computer (more than once)
Looked in the Contents>Resources folders for the Adobe Flash Player.pkg ... it wasn't there
    Allowed add-ons from Adobe
Looked in Preferences to enable any plug-ins or add-ons that might be related (didn't any).
I'd very much appreciate pointers to the next thing I should try.
    Thanks!

This might not help, but I remember my PPC mini (1.25gHz G4) enlightened me to the limitations of the PPC mini.
    Namely, video.
I had a favorite game, Stubbs the Zombie-Rebel Without a Pulse, and I played it for two years on my iMac. The the iMac cooked and I was left with my mini.
No more Stubbs because the video wouldn't support it. Not enough VRAM or not the right kind.
Two other games went the same route.
I didn't have Flash problems, but I was running Player 9 up until the mini died last summer.
Of all three games the mini wouldn't run, none is usable now because they don't run in Snow Leopard. I guess it's a good thing because if I was playing games all day I'd never learn anything in school.
    The Flash Player 10 requirements say 64Mb (852x480 (480p),24 fps), 64Mb (1,280x720 (720p),24–30 fps) or 128 Mb (1,920x1,080  (1080p),
24 fps) of VRAM. My G4 only had 32Mb and that killed it for gaming.
Your Apple System Profiler will indicate how much VRAM is in your mini.

  • Why does Flash Player install for Mac OSX 10.8 ask to quit DashboardClient?

I don't believe there is a way to just shutdown the Dashboard Client by itself. The install will not allow me to go any further.

I managed to finally find a pretty easy solution and to save typing time, it's in this thread already -->  http://forums.adobe.com/message/5242491#5242491

  • I can't install new Flash player on my Mac

problem with new Flash player installation on Mac 10.9.5 and Safari : it download, starts installing and stops at 81%.
I went through all the proceedings shown on Flash Player support and it still does not work

Did you also try the offline installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg ?

  • Problem with finishing install of Flash Player on a Mac. When finishing by entering the requested password, the dialog box jiggles as if the p/w is invalid. But it works in the Adobe site.

I am trying to install Flash player on my Mac. All the steps are working as they should, until the point where I am asked to enter my password. I do this, and the dialog box jiggles as through  the p/w were invalid. However, it works to sign in to the Adobe site. I just changed it to be sure and checked again.

There is no password required to download or install the Flash Player.  Chances are your Mac is requiring you to enter its password to allow the installation to occur.

  • How can I install Adobe flash player on my Mac using Safari OR Chrome? I have gone through every step on all of the help pages. The installation process always stops with the black box that briefly says, "Retrieving Install . . . ", then nothing.

I have followed every step in the various help pages I was directed to when troubleshooting the inability to install Adobe Flash Player on my Mac using either Safari or Chrome. Everything has failed. I always get the black box that says briefly, "Retrieving instal. . . " and then goes blank. When I close that window, I get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." Then it gives some links to follow for troubleshooting. I have followed ALL of the links there and on other help pages, to no avail. I've run into problems installing Adobe before, but it's never been this bad. Would someone please develop another format besides Adobe? Trying to get help from Adobe feels a little like trying to find a building in New York City with no map or GPS. The time required is voluminous, the emotional energy a/k/a frustration is overwhelming, and long before I get anything resolved, I wish the earth would open up and swallow all things Adobe@. Absence that miraculous intervention, I have to figure out what to do next. Does anyone know? Anyone?

Same question, same answer: use the offline installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • Help needed installing Flash Player Update on Mac

I am trying to install a flash player update on Mac - right now the one site I'm trying to use says flash is out of date.   Will not accept my adobe password, reset it through the adobe site and still will not work.  Tried Chat help and agent said to reset password through the Apple screen.  When  I try that it asks for apple id and password but there is only a place for the password.  Any suggestions.

    Hi,
This is the OS (Apple) prompting for the password, not Flash Player, therefore, the password is your Apple password, not Adobe ID password.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?

I can't install flash player on my mac 10.6.8, it supposedly downloads but then I can't find it, when I search for flash player in downloads in the finder, I get three choices:
    1. Adobe flash player install manager:  when I click on this, the options are either to quit or uninstall.
    2. Flash Player:  when I click on this, it shows me Flash Player in the finder, when I click on that, it leads me to install it again.
