Flash Player Installer for Mac OS X Yosemite is broken

I've tried this on 3 different OS X Machines, all running with Yosemite and Safari. I've downloaded the new Flash Player Installer, and attempt to install, but the installer gets stuck at the "downloading" phase, at either 25 or 30% downloading, and will not complete the download or the installation. I've never had this problem before. It seems that the installer / downloader is broken.

This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
1.)      Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
2.)      Download the stand-alone installer from  http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • Flash Player installation for Mac OS X

I have down loaded Flash Player several times (I use Safari), and my computer does not read that the program is there. Installation was successful but when I try to do something, like upload pictures, the websites say that the plug-in is missing. If I open my System Preferences, Flash Player is listed at the bottom under the heading Other. How do I get my computer to read this as a usable program?

If you're on an Intel Mac, you can probably complete the installation.  I don't *think* we'll block you at install time.  That said, we're using the MacOS 10.6 SDK, so there may be problems.  You should be eligible for a free upgrade to Yosemite, and you might want to consider it.
Running a Flash Player from the archives means that you're missing all of the security fixes that have been shipped since that build was initially released.  If you're surfing the web, this is generally a pretty bad ideal, even on Mac.  You're going to be much safer running current versions of the OS and Flash Player.

    Probably...
Download THIS installer by right clicking and choosing "Download Linked File As": Flash Player 12.0.0.44 (Mac OS X)
Then, download this PDF with detailed, illustrated instructions: 10.6 clean install.pdf

  • Flash Player update for Mac OS X 10.5.8

Does anyone have any ideas how to update my flash player on my Mac?  It has the following: OS X 10.5.8 which has a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.  I tried updating directly from the Adobe forum related to this, but it only lists the option from 10.6 to 10.10 now.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

  • Strange icon that won't allow update of Adobe Flash Player 17 for mac

When I download the newest Adobe Flash update for mac I get a strange icon.
When I double click to launch the update file, I get an even stranger window full of gibberish.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'm open. I have gone through every help file I can find for Adobe and nothing has helped so far.

    Hi Threigia,
Please remove the .mdlp from the file name, so that it ends in just .dmg.
We are seeing this behaviour with users that have MathLab installed and we are investigating why this is happening.  FWIW, this happens to other software DMG files as well, not just the Flash Player installer.  For some reason, when users have MathLab installed, when the DMG file is downloaded, it appends the .mdlp extension to it.  When users attempt to launch it, instead of being opened with DiskImageMounter, which is what OS X uses to open DMG files, it opens using MathLab and the result is what you posted.  If this happens in the future, just delete '.mdlp' from the file name and DiskImageMounter will open the DMG, instead of MathLab.

  • Flash player version for mac osx 10.5.8

have downloaded flashplayer removal update and restarted computer. what version of flash player do I now download for mac osx 10.5.8. i have dedicated today to sort this out please help me!

    I think you need a 10.x version (probably 10.3.183.10).
Here's Adobe's Archive of old flash players.  Scroll down.  There's a 10.3.183.20 in the list.  It downloads a zip with both windows and mac versions.  After expanding you can fish out the mac version.

  • Flash player safe for mac

    1. Yes. Ensure that you download it from Adobe's site.
    2. Probably not on a computer.

  • Installing Flash Player on a Mac OS X Yosemite (Version 10.10.1)

I am relatively computer illiterate. I mean I don't even know what a "Community" is so I've chosen this one ... I have no idea if it is the correct one, but there was no "Flash" community to choose from. If it's wrong please let me know! Seems a pretty hard way to get help if you ask me; there must be others as illiterate as myself ...
Anyway, having received an "update now" message from Adobe regarding Flash I followed instructions but the update wouldn't install.
I tried various times but it simply froze up at between 25% and 45% of the installation. It downloaded a file, "http://aihdownload.adobe.com/bin/live/AdobeFlashPlayerInstaller_16_ltrosxd_aaa_aih.dmg" of 1.1 Mb. This seems far too small but after at least ten attempts it never downloads anything bigger.
Anyway, I followed the instructions in the "Help" section which eventually led me to uninstalling with a view to installing a completely new package.
However, now I've uninstalled it still wont install so I'm worse off than ever.
I attach a screenshot of flash player files now on my computer.
    Can anyone help?

Please use the offline installer, here:

I am having trouble updating adobe flash player for my Macbook pro  OS X 10.4.11 (8S2167) using safari browser.
Can someone talk me through the steps how to do this

You should not be connecting a computer running 10.4 to the Internet.
It has not received security updates, and is vulnerable to attack through Java and Flash exploits that have been patched ... in later versions.
