Thanks for the helpful posting. I came searching here for advice because I could not get my Flash Player 9 installation to succeed using the trouble-shooting information provided on the Adobe web site, and from experience I have come to know that my best resource in trouble-shooting is to seek the help of other Mac users.
In following your instructions I discovered that "Enable Flash" was not checked in my preferences, so that was definitely part of the problem. However, I still could not get Flash Player 9 to work, so after doing a Google search I found a posting on Version Tracker (under feedback at the bottom of this page: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11622 ) that provided the last little bit of instruction I needed to get Flash Player 9 to function properly.
Before attempting to install Flash Player 9 I had used Adobe's uninstaller to uninstall previous versions, as instructed on the Adobe website. However, AFTER repairing my disk permissions, I needed to restart the computer and run the uninstaller again. After uninstalling I restarted once more, ran the installer and, VOILA!, finally Flash Player 9 worked as it should.

  • Flash Player Install failed with error code: 30

Hi, I want to report a problem with the Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.182 (Mac OS X, English) installer on OS X 10.9.2. Mavericks.  I'm posting this so the engineers will know what to fix in the next update version.
I have a 2013 iMac so according to Adobe blog posts it shouldn't be affected by the invalid cpu instruction issue.
Symptom is the first installer downloads the 2nd, starts to launch it, then quits it with "Error: Unable to proceed with the installation" and a green (success?) checkmark.  The GUI provides no other assistance except to "FINISH", which leads to the generic "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." page.
The system log says: Adobe Flash Player Install Manager[22567]: Install failed with error code: 30.
    The FlashPlayerInstallManager.log says:

Regardless... I still recommend "falling back" to 12 until they get this release right for everyone. I've read plenty of posts in the Apple forums from new iMac, Mini and MacBook users who've had nothing but trouble. Even the "gurus" there are linking to Chris Campbell's post here:

  • Flash Player Install Problem

Hi, I have had a terrible time trying to install Flash Player.  I used to have it but recently lost it and can not install it anymore.  I get a Failed to Register error message about halfway through the install.  I am running IE11, McAfee Virus software and have purchased and ran RegCure Pro.  My active x is turned off and I tried to install with a new admin account.  Nothing has worked.  My virus software has only quarantined one potentially unwanted program - Generic Pup .a    I think the quarantine happened around the same time but it may not be even related.  I have a 2.7 GHz processor and Windows 7.  Any suggestions on how I can reload Flash Player?  It used to work and update all the time.  Thank you

If you installed the legitimate Flash Player activeX control
    installer from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
then no, we wouldn't be looking for Compuserve.
Now, I have seen one or two sites spoofing the Flash Player
installer for malicious purposes. If it doesn't come from Adobe.com
it's not necessarily safe. But that isn't necessarily the problem
    either.
If at some point Compuserve (which is a very legitimate and
venerable BBS that became a big ISP similar to AOL..) may have been
on your machine and installed some type of dialer application for
dialup connections. Look in add/remove programs to see if you have
any compuserve related entries. If there's nothing there look in
    processes.
If you still don't find anything.. well then I'm not sure
    where to go next.

  • Adobe Flash Player  Install problem

I have been trying to install Adope Flash player on my
computer. It seems to be installed but flash programs will not
open. When I look in the currently installed programs list the
Adobe Flash Player has a red X on it. What could be the possible
problem? I am using Windows XP home edition.
    Thanks,

    Hi regztfen,
If you’re having difficulties with the ActiveX
installer on IE these steps will typically resolve the issue:
Try this first: Instructions for uninstalling and reinstalling
    the Flash Player:
    1. First download the uninstaller to your desktop from here
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
    2. Before running this uninstaller be sure to read the
instruction and close all running programs.
    3. Open the following folder
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
    4. Run the uninstaller
    5. What files are left in this folder?
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
    6. If there are files left, delete the Flash folder.
    7. Install the Flash Player from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
    8. Test the Flash Player here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
Also check your Internet Explorer ActiveX settings
Browser security settings should be chosen by you or by your
system administrator. For single users who do not have an
administrator, the Medium: Default Level allows you to view Flash
content. For any Custom Level, ensure that both the "Download
Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins"
    options are set to "Prompt".
    To change your security level:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. Choose Tools > Internet Options.
    3. Select the Security tab.
    4. Select Custom Level.
    5. Find the section "ActiveX controls and plug-ins".
    6. Set ' Download Signed ActiveX Controls' to Prompt.
    7. Set 'Run ActiveX Controls And Plug-ins' to Prompt.
If you are having trouble, make sure that your Internet
Explorer security level is not set to High or to a custom level
that does not allow viewing of ActiveX controls.
Finally, it may be that you have incorrect permissions in the
    system registry:
To fix these Windows system registry permission conflicts you
    can use Microsoft’s SubInACL tool.
Please download Microsoft’s tool to your desktop.
    http://www.supportflash.com/reset_min.zip
    1. Login as the User that has the incorrect permissions in
    the system registry
    2. unzip the “reset_minimal.cmd” and the
    “subinacl.exe” to the desktop
*** Make sure both files are on the desktop
    3. Close out all applications
    4. Run the “reset.cmd” file
    5. It will open a DOS like terminal and start running through
    registry keys
    6. When it is finished it will say “press any key to
    continue”
    7. At this point you can download the latest Flash Player
    from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer
    Test the Flash Player here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/
If you still require support, please open a free support case

  • Flash Player installation problems with Windows Embedded (WES/XPe)

I've deployed 13 HP T5740 Thin Clients at my office, each have Windows Embedded Standard (WES/XPe) and with Internet Explorer 7.
With limitations on VMWare servers and sound, users need to view webinars on their local client. When I try to install any version of Adobe Flash Player, the installation instantly fails...no reason given.
Is there a known issue with this? And is there a workaround?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

It's not working at the mo and it says under run without permissions - Shockwave Flash Object Enabled version 0.0.0.1
Just tried to download version 10.2.153.1 and now the download manager opens but then just 'hangs' - nothing happens.
On Firefox, version 10.2.153.1 installed and enabled OK. No problem playing clips with Firefox.

  • Flash Player Install Problem - Mac

    Hi Folks,
I can see that this issue has been addressed many times over, but the suggested solutions I've followed aren't helping.
    First my system:
    iMac running Snow Leopard (10.6.8)
    I'm using Firefox 18.0
    What I've done so far:
Uninstalled previous versions of Flash Player
Checked the Library to delete any related Flash files (there weren't any)
Downloaded the new Player installer (several times)
Rebooted the computer (more than once)
Looked in the Contents>Resources folders for the Adobe Flash Player.pkg ... it wasn't there
    Allowed add-ons from Adobe
Looked in Preferences to enable any plug-ins or add-ons that might be related (didn't any).
I'd very much appreciate pointers to the next thing I should try.
    Thanks!

This might not help, but I remember my PPC mini (1.25gHz G4) enlightened me to the limitations of the PPC mini.
    Namely, video.
I had a favorite game, Stubbs the Zombie-Rebel Without a Pulse, and I played it for two years on my iMac. The the iMac cooked and I was left with my mini.
No more Stubbs because the video wouldn't support it. Not enough VRAM or not the right kind.
Two other games went the same route.
I didn't have Flash problems, but I was running Player 9 up until the mini died last summer.
Of all three games the mini wouldn't run, none is usable now because they don't run in Snow Leopard. I guess it's a good thing because if I was playing games all day I'd never learn anything in school.
    The Flash Player 10 requirements say 64Mb (852x480 (480p),24 fps), 64Mb (1,280x720 (720p),24–30 fps) or 128 Mb (1,920x1,080  (1080p),
24 fps) of VRAM. My G4 only had 32Mb and that killed it for gaming.
Your Apple System Profiler will indicate how much VRAM is in your mini.

  • Flash player 11 problem with vista 64-bit

    Firefox browser 64-bit, I think
    OS - Vista Home Premium - 64-bit
Adobe flash player 11 does not work with the 64-bit version of vista (it's a fact)
Can I download a 32-bit version of FP 11 on my 64 bit version of Vista?
Can I try loading a 32-bit version of firefox and then download the 32 bit version of FP11?
How do I get to a 32-bit version of firefox to download it?
How can I get to a previous version of flash player - 10.3?
What is wrong with Adobe that they make a flash player that will not work with Vista or XP 64-bit OS?
Most of the videos no longer play - just get a message that the video is no longer available - problem started when I downloaded FP 11

Try using the installers from the links in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550
P.S. topic moved to the Installation section of the forum.

  • Flash Player install problems

I have repeatedly downloaded lastest version of Flash Player, each time getting a successful download message.  But each time I try to play video, I get a message that I need to download Flash.  My computer meets all the requirements for Flash Player 11.  What's wrong?

When we visit Flash Player Version, the window to showing the version is blank as is the earlier test video window.
    We use the following:
    OS Windows Vista Home Basic.
    Browser Internet Explorer, MSN
We can play both videos you provided, as well as anything on youtube.
Following are URL's to videos that are not working.  In every case, a message appears that need to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. After installing, same thing happens.
