Flash player life cycle

He. Team
Could you please help me with below information
Adobe Flash Player life cyle
OS: Windows 8.1
Adobe Flash Player 11
Adobe Flash Player 12
Adobe Flash Player 13
Adobe Flash Player 14
Any help please!
Thanks

Thanks Jochem, I believe the link you posted has what I am looking for in the Mozilla family of plugins. Specifically (bolding mine):
The life cycle of a plug-in, unlike that of an application, is  completely controlled by the web page that calls it. This section gives  you an overview of the way that plug-ins operate in the browser.
When Gecko starts, it looks for plugin modules in particular places  on the system. For more information about where Gecko looks for plugin  modules on different systems, see How  Gecko Finds Plug-ins .
When the user opens a page that contains embedded data of a media  type that invokes a plug-in, the browser responds with the following  sequence of actions:
check for a plug-in with a matching MIME type
load the  plug-in code into memory
initialize the plug-in
create  a new instance of the plug-in
Gecko can load multiple instances of the same plug-in on a single  page, or in several open windows at the same time. If you are browsing a  page that has several embedded RealAudio clips, for example, the  browser will create as many instances of the RealPlayer plug-in as are  needed (though of course playing several RealAudio files at the same  time would seldom be a good idea). When the user leaves the page or  closes the window, the plug-in instance is deleted. When the last  instance of a plug-in is deleted, the plug-in code is unloaded from  memory. A plug-in consumes no resources other than disk space when it is  not loaded. The next section, Understanding  the Runtime Model , describes these stages in more detail.
I can continue to do some digging where Chrome, IE, etc. are concerned.

My flash player does not work on my tablet

    Your tablet uses Android OS.
There is no more Flash Player for Android and there won't be another. Android is no longer compatible with Flash Player. Playing Flash content is very processor consumptive and it drains your battery, also shortening the life of it. Android (Google) recommends using either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" as your browser if you need to view Flash content with a mobile device running Android. They're both free in the GooglePlay store. These browsers use "server side" rendering to reduce the load on your device.

  • I have a disclaimer that says my Adobe Flash Player is out of date and needs to be updated.  I have been trying to figure this out for 2 days, which is a waste of time, and I chatted with Adobes Customer Service department who said they can't help me

because it is a free application.  They referred me to the Forum (which I have tried many times) but to me that is like a dog trying to chase the tail.  I am very upset because I cannot get You Tube nor can I listen to music.  This may seem trite but it is not trite to me.  I pay monthly for the use of CC Photoshop and Lightroom.  I will not give them anymore money for other software as they do not offer excellent customer service.  I am a consumer and should be treated with business sense.   Adobe keeps making a ton of money and gets away with it.  They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.  Shame on Adobe.  I will not use the Forum for assistance. They should be paying us for learning an IT job.  Obviously, Adobe is self centered because they don't consider that maybe we all have a life and cannot worship Adobe.@

I had been getting those notices for months, I finally broke down and hit the button to automatically upgrade. I was flooded with offers of new services from $10. to $49. per month - and my audio/video for Facebook, NYT and NPR are "blocked" with the advice to "upgrade " my Adobe Flash Player - for which there does not seem to be any customer support. My advice is to skip the "upgrading" if your computer works;I do not know what to do now . .  .

  • Why does Flash player not work on samsung galaxy tablets?

Hello, I am wondering why they do not have flash player for samsung galaxy tab 3? I just recently got the 8.0 sized one and it has great features, but no flash player? To have an up to date electronic device, and older electronic devices carry it,but you won't put it on new devices? Is there a way to get it to work or download it? It has stopped me from viewing many different things on my tablet unfortunately and this may cause me to return it.

Android dropped all support for Flash last year (June 2012).
Going back to 2006, when Apple released the first iPhone and iOS 1, Steve Jobs was insistent that it be made incompatible with Flash Player because (in his words) playing Flash content is processor consumptive and kills batteries, and well as shortening battery life in mobile devices. Android came along a little while later, but their reason for droppiong Flash last year was the same.
Adobe continued developing "security updates" for the Flash Player that worked with older versions of Android, but even that ended in September of this year. Adobe will not continue development of a product for an incompatible format.
Android recommends either "Dolphin" or "Puffin" browser from the GooglePlay store (both are free). They use "server side" technology to play Flash content without taxing your tablet or phone's processor.

  • FLASH PLAYER 10.3.183.7  DOES NOT WORK IN FULLSCREEN

    FAO:  Mr CHRIS CAMPBELL
    Hello Chris
You're probably getting this from all angles but the newest update to Flash Player  (10.3.183.7)   JUST DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.
I keep my browsers up to date and as of today (5 Sept 2011)  Flash  WORKS in "small pane in browser" mode (for example, in Youtube)  BUT GOES BLANK AS SOON AS FULLSCREENED.
Note that overlay captions and the pause / play graphics DO all work - it is only the video decompression that doesn't - leave screen blank and black.
This is BOTH in FireFox 7.0  and in latest Google Chrome:  I have carefully uninstalled & replaced Flash form the links you posted here and IT STILL DOES NOT WORK in fullscreen.
You really should NOT release new version of auto-updating code like this that are not properly tested:  this has mucked up video viewing for millions of people needlessly.
Is it because of the new accelerator support ?   who knows.    This is a mid-life Toshiba Satellite Pro   (we don't all go out and buy new PCs every ten weeks like you developers do)  and it has a P4 and standard onboard Intel 82852 graphics: perfectly fine up to last week.     But it has 64MB of graphics space and I see that 10.3.183.7  now "requires"   128MB ?       You just cannot make assumptions like that :  I bet there are  50 million plus PCs out there with 64MB (or less) VGA RAM.
Adobe is a lovely product,  but this is a complete and utter  bal*ls-up  as we in the UK call it:      please excuse my anglo-saxon directness.    Sort it out, please.

    Hi Chris
    Thanks for your rapid feedback.
YES  -  you are right  - turning off hardware accelerate FIXES it on this machine.
(For anyone else trying this,  note that if your PC is busy you may not be able to get the Right-click menu to work while the video is displaying,  so PAUSE it first,  then right click in the pane,   choose "Settings",  and UNtick the hardware acceleration tickbox.  Then unpause, and bob's your uncle.)
Interesting:  Chris -  I also notice that   Not All Videos Do it     -  some are fine (adverts seem to be,  on youtube)  -  but this (below) is an example of the one which will not fullscreen with the HW acceleration on  (nice watching, too  :-)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb3VWZj_I6g&list=PL0F01AFE18471E7B8&index=1
NB  Might it have anything to do with the transcoding YouTube are supposedly doing,  over to VP8 ?     I wonder if they change the content of the stream,  when you choose fullscreen perhaps ?   And so perhaps confusing the HW accelerator which may not know VP8 ?
Thanks again for rapid response.   GOOD LUCK ALL

  • Unable to load GUI error when trying to download newest flash player

I had deleted the older flash player , 10.0.42.34 and tried to download 10.0.45.2. Went to the adobe site, clicked the link for "get adobe flash player" from the ADOBE home page .
Got the "Unable to load GUI" error message, so I just went to the bottom of the download page and installed from this link here
    click here to download  (fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe)
Is that a legitimate way to download the flash player? I mean it put flash10e.ocx in C:\Windows\System32\macromed\Flash and in the manage add ons and in the add/remove programs version in Vista. Just want to make
    fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
gave me the right and secure flashplayer download.
    thanks

Hey habnots, like a lot of things in life, there is the hard way and the easy way. Your way just took longer:-)

  • Add-on page won't open - want to enable and enable flash player

The Firefox Ad-ons page will not open - it goes into an eternal cycle. I used to open it regularly to enable and disable the flash player - now I can't do this.

First, if the active category on the left side of the Add-ons page is '''Get Add-ons''', click '''Extensions''' to bypass whatever is loading and go directly to the area likely to have the toolbar. (I think it's loading a page of popular add-ons, which isn't very relevant to what you want to do.) Does that work?
If that doesn't work, you could try disabling all add-ons first and see whether that makes a difference. You can do this using Firefox's Safe Mode dialog.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, check just the box to "Disable all add-ons" then click Make Changes and Restart. Does this allow you to access the Add-ons page?

  • I've about had it! Can anyone please tell me where they hid the "real" Flash Player this time?

Sorry folks - don't mean to take my frustrations out on the innocent but I am sick of always having to run in circles trying to get what my creative cloud membership pays for. I finally got a new laptop and I'm stoked because it's the first one I've owned that will be able to run Adobe stuff without batting an eye (okay within reason - it's still a laptop! lol!). Anyways, the problem is Windows and some other programs along with Adobe. I've had to reinstall everything like four times now. But if I can get Windows to behave and stay stable - I can work on some delayed projects.
So I got to reinstall CC and after 4 times this searching and hunting for apps is really getting on my nerves. First, why can't Adobe put the real Flash Player in with the regular download on the CC login? I know we got the plug in with IE but I can't use it with Acrobat Pro. I'm embedding vids and stuff in PDF's and the only thing that's worked so far is that actual player.  Flash Builder along with Flash Professional don't help either. About a week ago, I tracked the real "Flash Player" down but this time - I can't find it to save my life. Every time I get to click on the DOWNLOAD THE LATEST VERSION OF FLASH PLAYER link - it sends me back to a CC login page or back to the IE instructions. I've only logged into my account ...uh...about 25 times now if I counted all the open tabs right.
Okay so I get tired of searching all over for the Flash Player I need and decide to jump over to Adobe Story. I've got some other aps downloading and those will probably finish in about six to eight hours. But Story Plus isn't a download and it's included in the CC membership to. Now that program I liked. I had a bunch of projects saved and it has taken me a bit to get back over there to check it out but guess what.
I log in and it says I'm on the free version and my projects are gone. The more I search, the more Adobe insists I get the Story CC Plus with my membership - but that's not what I've got on my screen when I log in. *sigh*
I checked my membership status just in case - yes, I'm coming up for my renewal next month but there's no problems with my status and my bill shows current. So now I'm getting really frustrated. I see a nice little link that says get Premium support with your CC membership. Oh yeah? Click! They lied again. No matter how hard I look, the links only send me in circles (I"m bookmarking this page otherwise it will vanish into the nether too! )
So now I get to go pull my backups for my script that is no longer on Story Plus. Wonderful. I'm not going to go look at membership again. I'm really close to cancelling as it is - so I'm gonna go chill out and wait for stuff to download.

Flash Player is free, and you might ask for help in Flash Player
This forum is about the Cloud as a delivery process, not about using individual programs... and as far as I know, Flash Player is a different, free, download

  • Is there a  way to run flash player on iPAd?

I am rather unhappy that I cannot run FlashPlayer on my iPad. I can't run most of my weather sites without it. As a boat captain I rely on weather sites for safety among other things and when I travel it becomes even more important. I find it ridiculous that apple won't run Flash and Java. If I can't run these I will go back to my laptop.

What you rather unfriendly and DEFINITELY unhelpful people fail to realize is 1) I am still, regrettably, using my laptop BECAUSE the iPad cannot run Flash Player. 2) As a PROFESSIONAL, whose livelihood and safety depend largely on weather and the ability to forecast CORRECTLY, not just with a pretty forecaster or cute comments, I SUBSCRIBE to PAY weather services which are much more accurate and detailed than the Weather Channel and Accuweather which try for mass appeal. SO STOP TELLING MY WHAT SIGHTS I SHOULD USE? After 30 years (20 with Internet) I chose my sites because of their quality. 3) I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION. With the exception of one or two answers, all the rest of you chose to attack me and criticize me for not wanting to use HTML5 or whatever garbage Apple chooses t shove in my face.
I could give a rat's &$@ what you think of me. I wanted to know if Apple could work for me and now I know it cannot. For now I will continue to lug my heavy laptop around and I will dedicate more time to researching a
Ight alternative. You APPLE JUNKIES are ridiculous. If somebody is unhappy with anything Apple, it is never Apple's fault. OK you run out and buy whatever you are TOLD. I for one choose to buy what works for me. I bout the iPad because everyone raved about how great it was - well, I found out that wasn't true.. in the few months I have owned it I have encountered MANY people unhappy with it for various reasons. YES IT WAS MY FAULT I PURCHASED IT WITHOUT SUFFICIENT RESEARCH--- I WON'T MAKE THAT MISTAKE AGAIN.
All you know-it-alls, can have your junk. I am happy with myself and when I make a mistake I recognize it and change it. I am doing that. I have no use for any of you. you are no help to anyone. Fortunately, I can go back to wonderful life out on the ocean, being paid for what most of you can only dream about doing even once. you on the other hand can go back to your litle cubiclels taking whatever corporate America shoves down your throat and believing it is best for you.
LASTLY, how is it that anyone who has a complaint is a troll? Do you all work for Apple? Or ar you just THAT BRAINWASHED? how lame a life you must have.

  • Flash Player won't work. Tried everything I can think of.

Right, excuse the babbling but I want to make sure I have all
the details down here. I also don't know that much about computers,
    but I shall try.
I am currently running XP on an Advent laptop which, for some
reason or other, has decided that it doesn't want to run flash
(Java etc is also a problem). I have tried the Internet Options
settings (ie putting Java and Active X on enable or prompt etc) and
all that seemed to do was every time I go onto YouTube type
websites, it would download various things OVER and OVER again. I
also can't see any flash on things like MSN or other junk that
teenagers tend to download (Zwinkies or cursor sites etc) I managed
to get over this by downloading Firefox, which has sorted my
website problem, but I am now in a predicament. I STILL can't see
and winks and stuff on MSN and I have just had some .SWF files sent
me to check but, as they aren't on the internet, I cannot use
Firefox to see them. I would also like to view them when I am on
the move, with NO internet connection.
I have tried downloading various stand-alone Flash players
but the same problem still occurs.
    quote:
This program requires Macromedia Flash Player Plugin, which
is not found at this system. Go to the Macromedia site to download
    and install plugin?
I have tried everything I can think of, even
completely uninstalling it as per instructions on this site, and
reinstalling, but nothing seems to work. Is there a setting I need
to switch on or is it just my computer that doesn't like Flash?
Please help as I am at my wits end.
    Thank you.
    Danae

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Error Message

About four days ago, I started getting this error message in a dialog box. It appears even with nothing open that would even require a need for Flash. I removed Adobe Flash Player 10 and rebooted, then added it back. The problem continues however.
Win-XP/SP3 fully patched and Malware free.
"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?  Yes / No.
Checking either option only gets rid of the pop-up for a few minutes.

I have just recently resolved my Flash Player issue.
My suggestion to all who have troubles with Slowing down players or error messages (like I was getting) is very similar to what has been suggested by Meln long ago.For windows machines- I don't know  mac fix. but this might work.
    1. remove/uninstall flash player from your system. ALL BROWSERS
    2. reboot your system
    3. goto the adobe site for flash player and have it check that you in fact DO NOT have flash player installed.
    4. download the latest version of flash player and let it IMMEDIATELY do the install.
    5. reboot
    6. check how flash player works. If it is buggy and slow or kicking up errrors/messages go back to step 1. repeat this cycle as many times as necessary.
    some notes:
Be careful when doing the install -DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE FLASH DEBUGGING VERSION- it will kick up errors galore.
Make certain you do noting else during the install and remove processes. You are problem solving -not being productive, so  just wait it out patiently.
I know some will say, why would i remove, download and install multiple times - once should either work or not work.
OH how I wish this were true for funky software issues. There is some glitchy thing going on and where exactly it happens is anyones guess, or it would have been fixed. Without rhyme or reason one time though it will just work. when it does do a system restore point and put GOOD FLASH PLAYER as the note. after you do this fix you will know why you want a quick way back to this point.- you don't want to do it again.
i know this sounds stupid but after trying for months to "fix" my issue this is what worked on multiple PCs i had that had the issue(s) slowing down and messages.

  • Can't Left Click in Flash Player Settings Panel - HELP PLEASE

Hi and thanks for taking the time to read this. Believe me it is a fraction of the time I have wasted trying to resolve this issue.
    Basic problem is:
I am trying to stream to Ustream but since downloading AFP11 for my Windows PC when I open the Flash Player Settings panel i can't left click on anything. It is set to deny but I can't click allow, or close or any of the icons.
    Right click does work.
I have followed countless instructions in other forums from other posts that have encountered the problem on Mac and older versions of AFP but as yet none of the solutions have proven succesul.
I have tried all of the following but nothing has resolved the problem.
    1. Uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash Player (although this is impossible using Google Chrome) and restart computer.
    2. Unistall flash and install older version. (made no difference on Google Chrome and on IE8 had no flash whatsoever).
    5. Uninstall older AFP and reinstall AFP11.
    4. Uninstall Google Chrome and restart computer.
    5. Uninstall QuickTime (I got this off http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/flash-player-not-working-properly-please-help-1 61552.html) and restart computer
    6. Last resort use keyboard shortcuts such as tab, enter and ctrl+arrows. This either didn't highlight the panel at all or if it did I still couln't select allow, or close the panel itself so was no help either.
So now I'm back to square one.
Now here's a really bizarre thing... I am using a shared laptop computer and if I use my colleagues profile where she hasn't updated her AFP to Adobe Flash Player 11 the settings panel is responding just fine. IT'S THE SAME PC!
I know I am alone with this problem but someone out there has an answer. If you can help please let me know how to fix this problem where I can't left click in the Adobe Flash Player settings panel.and I will be eternily grateful.
    many thanks
    nik

OK the amount I hate myself right now is more than a fat guy's self loathing for raiding the fridge at 2am for Pizza but less than an armed robber who's accidentally shot a pregnant woman in the stomach during a shootout. but not much less.
So after I had miraculously got the Flash Player Setting Panel to work again, (after deleting QuickTime and leaving the window open for abut an hour it just started working again) I then got enticed into downloading the ustream producer software.
While downloading it informed me that it would only work with QuickTime.
Stupidly and Optimistically hoping it would remove the need to use flash player altogether I downloaded and installed both.
I then discovered to my horror that Ustream producer is not a patch on Vidbalster and that it was not capable of delivering the same level of broadcast.
I then opened the flash player settings panel on ustream and... the problem has returned!
This means I am 99% sure that QuickTime IS the cause of the problem so I have uninstalled QT off the PC. I have also uninstalled Ustream Producer.
The thing is though, now no matter how many times I restart, or uninstall and reinstall Adobe, or Google Chrome, I am once again UNABLE TO LEFT CLICK IN THE FLASH PLAYER SETTINGS PANEL. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!
What did I do? I fixed it and  f***ing broke it again!
Now it properly will not come back to life! the problem is not solved and i urgently need help.
Why does Adobe Flash Player Settings Panel and Apple QuickTime hate each other so much that they've got to ruin my life?
    Help forum PLEASE!
    Regards,
    nik

  • Windows Vista Home Version and Adobe Flash Player 10.

I use Windows Vista Home Version and I am finding it difficult to download Adobe Flash Player 10.
It appears to have been downloaded but on examining Control Panel, I discovered that its content is empty (no size is aportioned to it).
Most importantly, I am unable to play videos that require adobe flash player.

    I understand Vista is a 32 bit.
IE 8 is what I have but I would consider IE 9 if that would be necessary.
Just a bit more update. I just tried to download Adobe FP 10 again with the following results, again:
The Adobe Download Manager windows shows:
FP 10.3 Status as 100% "Installation Pending".
FP 10.2 Status as 100% " Instatlling Application"
and that will go one forever but never really actually installs anything and just keeps cycling through the "Add to Download" e.g. "Fanbase", "Times Reader"
and "Adobe Air" (none of which I want added to the download), and the download and installation shows as 100%.
    Go figure!
