  • OS X 10.8.4 Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1

Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1, Flash is ok in Chrome.
I go to Youtube and play a video in Firefox and the image is scrabbled; pixelated shows a lot of green and screws up the whole system, if I use chrome flash is fine. The Firefox version is 12.0.0.44, I have tried earlier versions but I get the same result.
This is most annoying because Firefox is my main browser.

Chrome has ha separate plug-in from Firefox. Functions independently of it. Green screen (in Windows) is almost always caused by out dated or corrupted video drivers. Not something common to Macs since the hardware is proprietary, and the Drivers are in the BSD subsystem.
Gotta ask, how come you haven't run the 10.8.5 update? It came out October 14.

  • Flash player locks up web browsers

I'm having problems with Flash Player locking up my web browser.  Any time I play a flash movie to make the browser crash (not responding).  I've tried IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome all with the same results.  Here are the specs:
ATI Mobile Radeon driver version 8.632.0.0
    Flash version 10.153.64
    Windows 7 HP 64bit
    4GB Ram
    Dual Core AMD
    Please help!

currently flash is not available in 64bit.
32 bit version can still run on 32 bit browsers. (It doesn't work on 64 bit IE)
Is it a specific swf which is crashing or any of the flash content?

  • Adobe Flash Player 11.4 quits working, won't show videos even after reinstalling.

Had Adobe Flash Player 11.3 r300 and it stopped showing videos, etc. in Firefox a few days ago. Now I've installed v 11.4 r402 and it still gives error message "Adobe Flash Player ... has stopped working." I uninstalled, downloaded again and reinstalled -- with the same result. No videos. Firefox Plugin check page shows it installed correctly. Any solutions?

    Warning: Installing Adobe Flash 10.3
The instructions in the 11.3 crash article on installing the 10.3 don't tell you that the Active X Flash version must also be installed because the Adobe Uninstaller uninstalls ALL installed Flash and certain programs require that to work properly. I reported this two months ago and although I was thanked for it it was ignored by Staff and only corrected in the viewing videos problem article, which links to the crash article. If I have to do the job of Staff I'm happy to oblige, since there is no excuse for this. I actually corrected this same error by a Mozilla QA engineer who left out this same step in her testing on a bug report, and I got the expected result, she didn't.
jscher2000's recommendations are good, I'm only supplementing the crash article instructions for anyone who needs that.

Question:  I bought a 5 yr old Mac G5 OSx 10.4.11, 2 GHz intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB 667 MHz DDR1 SDRAM memory.  It works fine but I can't get Thunderbird, Flash Player or Adobe reader to install -- it shows up on desktop as download but not App folder. Why?

The downloads are probably .dmg files (disk images).  You would open the disk image (double-click it) to find the application or an installer.  If it's the application itself, you then drag the application to your Applications folder to "install" it.  If it's an installer, double-click the installer to run the installer that installs the application.
NOTE:  If you iMac is Intel, it's not a PPC G5.

  • When I install Flash Player version 10.2.152.32 it shows up in the control panel but only ....

When I install Flash Player version 10.2.152.32, it shows up in the control panel, under Programs and Features but the only thing that shows up is the name and version of the product.  On the right hand side, the size of the program in megabites is supposed to be displayed but it isn't for flash player.  I am using Windows Vista Home Premium and it is a 32 bit operating system and the browser I use is Windows Internet Explorer.  Does anyone know why I could be having problems downloading this?

What is the problem you are having?  Does Flash Player work?  Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
Flash Player is a browser add-on, not a standalone program, and most likely therefore does not indicate any program size in the Control Panel.

  • Flash player locking up PC (total freeze)

My PC started locking up (total freeze) since I updated my Flash player to the latest version, no mouse, no keyboard, requires hard reboot everytime. I uninstalled it and now everything is ok now, please fix it, becouse I really need it for navigation.
    I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits, on a ASUS K45A, Core i5, 8GB RAM, Intel graphic 4000 video board.
    Browser: FireFox.

I just downloaded  GFX_Win8_Win7_64_9.18.10.3131_PV now to see if something changes, Just installed the Flashplayer plugin again and tested to make sure if my system would freeze again, and after 10 minutes it happened again.
Just uninstalled it after another hard reboot, and everything is good again.
What could be happening? I noticed that nothing happens if I use google Chrome, I don't know about I.E, haven't tryed it, and I'll never do (I'm not that desperate).

  • Flash Player locks up FireFox and IE6

    When I go to
    http://www.scifi.com/superhero,
my browser locks up. I have flash player 9 installed, and there is
a movie of some sort that tries to load, but it just locks up my
browser (IE6 AND FireFox) to the point where I have to kill it.
I have FlexBuilder2 installed on my machine as well, if that
    makes any difference.

I also try to go to this site and nothing plays:

  • Flash Player locks up PC

I've had a problem with Flash Player for a little while now, it completely locks up my PC when watching video from certain sites (especially http://www.tetesaclaques.tv/ ).  The audio becomes a horrendous scratching / hissing noise and I have to hard reboot the PC.  My specs are:
    ASUS P7P55D PRO motherboard
    Intel Core i7 860 2.8 GHz processor
4 GB Patriot 1600 MHz RAM
    ATI Radeon 5870
    OCZ Summit 120 GB SSD
I'm positive it's not an overheating issue as I can play high-end games no problem (for much longer than a simple 5-minute Flash video).  Any ideas what could be causing these massive system crashes?
Today I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit and installed all the latest drivers, but still the same problem occurs.

Hi, ok so that is where it is. Evidently this is new for Win7? Ok well your IE files are correct. I cannot tell from the FF files,
since they don't give a vs. number. Can you go back and right click on the NPSWF32.dll and the NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
then properties to confirm that vs. 10.0.45.2 is installed?
Also using IE, go to manage add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object  ActiveX Control.. Flash10e.ocx should be listed and check that it is enabled. If any other vs is listed, I need to know. (The Flash10e.ocx is the vs 10.0.45.2)
Using FF, check plug-ins for SWF vs 10.0.45.2 and that needs to be enabled also.
I am assuming that you Rebooted after the install of FP in IE and FF?
After that, please check in Programs & Features and post back all listings of Java. If any are there other than JRE 6 update 18, they need Removed and then Reboot and I'll give you instructions for the Java install.
    Thanks,

  • Flash Player locks up browser

I'm using Flash Player 11.1.102.55, Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit), ATI Video Card in a Lenovo Desktop.
I've tried Flash Player with IE9, Chrome, and firefox.
It will work when on Adobe's site (the flash player shown after install).
On other sites (like youtube, etc.) I get a green screen and it locks up the browser (no matter which browser).
I'm running the latest ATI driver, Latest Flash Player Version, latest Firmware on the PC.
I have hardware acceleration in flash player turned OFF.
Any ideas?  This is driving me nuts. I've googled and can really only find to turn off acceleration (which I've tried/done). No other video issues, just with flash.

    CCWTechUtah wrote:
I'm running the latest ATI driver
The latest driver from Microsoft Update, or from the AMD download site?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765
Green screen is usually an indication for some incompatibility with the graphics driver, although turning Hardware Acceleration off should prevent that from happening.

  • Flash player locks up IE on new Windows 7 (64) Image deployed by SCCM

I created a new Windows 7 Image and deployed it by using SCCM.
When in Windows 7 Audit mode I install the latest version of flash player and all the other apps we use.
After the image is done and deployed you can log in as administrator and everything seems great at first.
The problem is when you create an additional local account on the machine OR join it to a domain any additional profiles can't use IE.
We have traced it to flash player. IE just freezes and hangs for about 3-5 mins on any flash player website.
The only work around is we reinstall flash player afterwards. At that point Flash is fixed and works fine for anyone logged in.
It's gotten to the point when I might have to exclude flash from my image and just install it later when a computer is deployed.
IE version doesn't matter, it has the same response with IE8 or 9
    Any ideas?

  • Flash Player will not resize gaming window, or show screen at all.

I have been having issues with this for years, ever since I installed Internet Explorer 8 when it came out a few years ago. (Keep in mind that I have a 2nd computer, and a lap top, all with the newest software as well, and neither of those have this issue). I always have the latest software with Flash Player with this computer that I use the most, but it doesn't seem to make a world of difference. Half of the flash games I play on the internet won't fit inside of the browser window. As a crude quick image example of what I mean, see below. (If you would like me to insert an actually print screen of this occurring in my browser window, let me know). Imagine the ENTIRE grid is the flash player browser, which any working system is supposed to see. My flash image gets cut off in the equal sign areas, which makes game play almost completely impossible some times. Therefore, all I am ever able to see is the plus section (Which is actually larger than normal in flash windows since it can't resize). Not very helpful at all. This is the typical problem I have run into and endured for a steady 3 to 4 years. And it won't just happen with some newly created games, but with some older games as well (which older games are more understandable). But I don't have this problem with EVERY flash window I come upon, only about half that I've ever encountered.

My newest issue involves a gaming site I frequently visit. Crazy4jigsaws.com. They recently reformatted their site, and all I get is a blank white screen when I actually get to the interactive puzzle window, but I'm able to see the picture icons and tool bars just fine. (I already had the newest updated Flash Player when I first encountered the site). When I open the site on the laptop, it now shows the same symptoms of not being able to resize and fit the flash into the window.
I have looked for answers everywhere. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player multiple times. Fiddled with Java (just in case). Attempted compatibility views in my browser. Checked the internet options to make sure my activex is enabled or prompted, as well as anything else that may have prevented it. I've checked the bit rate of my Internet Browser (128). I've tried to install that "32 bit" link for the browser, but all I get is an error message. I've clicked on every single option in the View tab at the head of the browser. I'm always clicking the refresh button.
Does anyone have the same issues as me? I'd like to at least know that I'm not alone.

    I have Windows XP.
In regards to my blank white page, the flash is now working again (Whether I needed to restart again or if it was a site thing).
And I'm not sure how to go about changing my display resolution with the browser, or know where to find it for that matter. Of course there's the one you can find in the control panel/display for the whole computer in general, but that doesn't do anything except make everything larger (Since I originally had it on the highest: 1024 x 768 pixels) and doesn't change the resize compatability for flash player at all.
Above is a screen shot of the jigsaw site I use (which is not the worst game resizing issue I've run into.) On the left side of the flash window, there are options to choose during game play, and the last option gets cut in half b/c the window won't resize correctly. And I haven't any idea if there are more options below it or not.
Below is one of the worst resizing issues I HAVE run into. I don't play farmville anymore since this problem, among it being boring, makes it literally impossible to play the game. I brought up the marketplace option since it's the most drastic. This is all of the flash game window, which would resize anything normally on my other computers, but the images get cut off along the sides with this one. I have tried playing this game on its home site, hoping that facebook was the problem, but it's the same issue there as well.

  • After Adobe Flash Player downloaded, there was no installer dialogue showed up

I was trying to download the Adobe Flash Player into my Mac (with OS 10.6.8) via Safari. After pressed the download button, it seemed the Adobe flash player was downloading - I could see the green strip was moving, and the time was changing. After the strip was filled by the green, the box was frozen. The box was blank, with "downloads" on the top. No installer dialogue showed up. Did any one have this issue before? How to fix it? Many thanks in advance! zp12

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
You can download offline installer for Adobe Flash Player : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_playe r_11_osx.dmg
Once it is saved, close all your browser windows and double click on it.

  • Flash Player locks up Safari

I've read many of the posts on this forum about problems with Safari and I have a similar but I think, slightly different problem that none of the proposed solutions will resolve.
The problem is that safari goes into "not responding" mode whenever I access a page with flash content. If I uninstall Flash and run safari everything is fine, without the flash content of course. I've tried re-installing flash and get the same problem. I've done all the following steps as described elsewhere:
    1. Go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.Safari.plist file.
    2. Go to ~/Library and look for a folder named InputManagers. If you have one, remove everything in that folder; if not, there's nothing to worry about for that.
    3. Go to ~/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the entire contents of that folder.
    4. Go to ~/Library/Safari and delete any of these files you find there:
    • Downloads.plist
    • History.plist
    • LastSession.plist
    • Form Values
I've also tried setting up a new user account and have the same results in that account. Lastly, I ran the repair permissions disk utility.
I'm stumped on how to fix this any ideas?
    Thanks
