Flash Player locks up PC

I've had a problem with Flash Player for a little while now, it completely locks up my PC when watching video from certain sites (especially http://www.tetesaclaques.tv/ ).  The audio becomes a horrendous scratching / hissing noise and I have to hard reboot the PC.  My specs are:
ASUS P7P55D PRO motherboard
Intel Core i7 860 2.8 GHz processor
4 GB Patriot 1600 MHz RAM
ATI Radeon 5870
OCZ Summit 120 GB SSD
I'm positive it's not an overheating issue as I can play high-end games no problem (for much longer than a simple 5-minute Flash video).  Any ideas what could be causing these massive system crashes?
Today I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit and installed all the latest drivers, but still the same problem occurs.

Hi, ok so that is where it is. Evidently this is new for Win7? Ok well your IE files are correct. I cannot tell from the FF files,
since they don't give a vs. number. Can you go back and right click on the NPSWF32.dll and the NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe
then properties to confirm that vs. 10.0.45.2 is installed?
Also using IE, go to manage add ons and find Shockwave Flash Object  ActiveX Control.. Flash10e.ocx should be listed and check that it is enabled. If any other vs is listed, I need to know. (The Flash10e.ocx is the vs 10.0.45.2)
Using FF, check plug-ins for SWF vs 10.0.45.2 and that needs to be enabled also.
I am assuming that you Rebooted after the install of FP in IE and FF?
After that, please check in Programs & Features and post back all listings of Java. If any are there other than JRE 6 update 18, they need Removed and then Reboot and I'll give you instructions for the Java install.
Thanks,

  • OS X 10.8.4 Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1

    Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1, Flash is ok in Chrome.
    I go to Youtube and play a video in Firefox and the image is scrabbled; pixelated shows a lot of green and screws up the whole system, if I use chrome flash is fine. The Firefox version is 12.0.0.44, I have tried earlier versions but I get the same result.
    This is most annoying because Firefox is my main browser.

    Chrome has ha separate plug-in from Firefox. Functions independently of it. Green screen (in Windows) is almost always caused by out dated or corrupted video drivers. Not something common to Macs since the hardware is proprietary, and the Drivers are in the BSD subsystem.
    Gotta ask, how come you haven't run the 10.8.5 update? It came out October 14.

  • Flash player locks up web browsers

    I'm having problems with Flash Player locking up my web browser.  Any time I play a flash movie to make the browser crash (not responding).  I've tried IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome all with the same results.  Here are the specs:
    ATI Mobile Radeon driver version 8.632.0.0
    Flash version 10.153.64
    Windows 7 HP 64bit
    4GB Ram
    Dual Core AMD
    Please help!

    currently flash is not available in 64bit.
    32 bit version can still run on 32 bit browsers. (It doesn't work on 64 bit IE)
    Is it a specific swf which is crashing or any of the flash content?

  • Flash player locking up PC (total freeze)

    My PC started locking up (total freeze) since I updated my Flash player to the latest version, no mouse, no keyboard, requires hard reboot everytime. I uninstalled it and now everything is ok now, please fix it, becouse I really need it for navigation.
    I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits, on a ASUS K45A, Core i5, 8GB RAM, Intel graphic 4000 video board.
    Browser: FireFox.

    I just downloaded  GFX_Win8_Win7_64_9.18.10.3131_PV now to see if something changes, Just installed the Flashplayer plugin again and tested to make sure if my system would freeze again, and after 10 minutes it happened again.
    Just uninstalled it after another hard reboot, and everything is good again.
    What could be happening? I noticed that nothing happens if I use google Chrome, I don't know about I.E, haven't tryed it, and I'll never do (I'm not that desperate).

  • Flash Player locks up FireFox and IE6

    When I go to
    http://www.scifi.com/superhero,
    my browser locks up. I have flash player 9 installed, and there is
    a movie of some sort that tries to load, but it just locks up my
    browser (IE6 AND FireFox) to the point where I have to kill it.
    I have FlexBuilder2 installed on my machine as well, if that
    makes any difference.

    I also try to go to this site and nothing plays:

  • Flash Player locks up browser

    I'm using Flash Player 11.1.102.55, Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit), ATI Video Card in a Lenovo Desktop.
    I've tried Flash Player with IE9, Chrome, and firefox.
    It will work when on Adobe's site (the flash player shown after install).
    On other sites (like youtube, etc.) I get a green screen and it locks up the browser (no matter which browser).
    I'm running the latest ATI driver, Latest Flash Player Version, latest Firmware on the PC.
    I have hardware acceleration in flash player turned OFF.
    Any ideas?  This is driving me nuts. I've googled and can really only find to turn off acceleration (which I've tried/done). No other video issues, just with flash.

    CCWTechUtah wrote:

    The latest driver from Microsoft Update, or from the AMD download site?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/945765
    Green screen is usually an indication for some incompatibility with the graphics driver, although turning Hardware Acceleration off should prevent that from happening.

  • Flash player locks up IE on new Windows 7 (64) Image deployed by SCCM

    I created a new Windows 7 Image and deployed it by using SCCM.
    When in Windows 7 Audit mode I install the latest version of flash player and all the other apps we use.
    After the image is done and deployed you can log in as administrator and everything seems great at first.
    The problem is when you create an additional local account on the machine OR join it to a domain any additional profiles can't use IE.
    We have traced it to flash player. IE just freezes and hangs for about 3-5 mins on any flash player website.
    The only work around is we reinstall flash player afterwards. At that point Flash is fixed and works fine for anyone logged in.
    It's gotten to the point when I might have to exclude flash from my image and just install it later when a computer is deployed.
    IE version doesn't matter, it has the same response with IE8 or 9
    Any ideas?

  • Flash Player locks up Safari

    I've read many of the posts on this forum about problems with Safari and I have a similar but I think, slightly different problem that none of the proposed solutions will resolve.
    The problem is that safari goes into "not responding" mode whenever I access a page with flash content. If I uninstall Flash and run safari everything is fine, without the flash content of course. I've tried re-installing flash and get the same problem. I've done all the following steps as described elsewhere:
    1. Go to ~/Library/Preferences and delete the com.apple.Safari.plist file.
    2. Go to ~/Library and look for a folder named InputManagers. If you have one, remove everything in that folder; if not, there's nothing to worry about for that.
    3. Go to ~/Library/Caches/Safari and delete the entire contents of that folder.
    4. Go to ~/Library/Safari and delete any of these files you find there:
    • Downloads.plist
    • History.plist
    • LastSession.plist
    • Form Values
    I've also tried setting up a new user account and have the same results in that account. Lastly, I ran the repair permissions disk utility.
    I'm stumped on how to fix this any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Custom Component Locking Up in Flash Player

    I am able to create the custom component just fine and in the
    Flex application it looks to sit in the root application just fine.
    Renders with no errors as well. When I view it live nothing is in
    it's place AND the Flash player locks up. I am using it to populate
    a view stack VBox but it still doesn't seem to fly outside of that.
    Any thoughts?

    Please post your code so we can have a look at it. Both the

  • [locked] adobe flash player plugin not working in FFox 3.6.8

      I run Windows XP Home fully auto-updated, have IE8+ latest FFox browser 3.6.8, and have installed (as Admin) your Shockwave Flash Player
    and plugin Ver. 10.1.53.64.  FFox Plugin Check says "Up to date".  At least 10 times per day, I get a Javascript alert of "script error" when I try
    to view Flash Content. I have thoroughly researched this prob on your site, but find no answer to my prob, hence this thread.
      Please tell me:
    1. How to fix this, and
    2. Why I should not COMPLETELY block ALL Flash content with freeware tools.
      It would be a pity, because I have 5 MILLION hits on my YouTube (and other .flv/swf- hosted vidsites)....  but I have no option now but to consider
    your latest update unusable and incompatible with my Firefox-secured sys. I did sucessfully dodge your slyly unethical attempt to default-install
      McAfee junkware, as I am responsible for securing quite a few computers in my law firm. I use and regularly update & scan w/:
      AVG Antivirus, Spybot S&D+Teatimer resident, and the free Zonealarm firewall. I have updated my Java and Javascriptscript and always keep
      Javascript turned on. I also run SpywareBlaster and occasional free Kaspersky, Panda, and F-secure Virusscans. I am virus/spyware free.
      I wrote my first line of code in 1968.
      The only problem I and my users have is with YOUR Flash product updates/plugins in FFox,  crashing and generating  a Javascript errmsg.
       You have even completely locke up my computer, which NEVER happens to me unless gates does it. I fear I have fallen for the old trick of
       getting v. 1 of an existing ware, to be patched later, in the evil M$oft way.  If your products only work with M$oft OS's and browsers,
       you are violating the well-known Google Success maxim of "don't be evil!"  And the common-sense rule that content-delivery Netware
       should be Browser- independent. I know you code mostly for intrusive-adware, and have allowed for that. But I am getting VERY tired of seeing
       a Javascrpt errmsg and the words on my FFox browser "The Adobe plug-in has crashed. Send crash report"- which I always do.
       I know Open Source wares are pressing you hard, but yes, the .PDF Reader WAS designed to be the first common format other than ASCII.
       You are falling far short of user-acceptance comapared to days past. Your products are WAY overpriced bloatware. PLEASE don't be the
        Bill Gates of served-out pictorial content, where "it's ALL proprietary". That will kill your sales and inspire freeware-writers more than you can
        believe.  If you fail to fix this bug speedily in your freeware, you will suffer the Fate of Vista. I NEVER buy into a ver.1.0, but you have forced me to,
       and it doesn't work.  Fix it- put out a hotfix or patch, or the WHOLE OPEN SOURCE/SHAREWARE Community of Users like me will not even
       CONSIDER buying your products.  I write for your benefit, not mine. .PDF and Word/.wmv files are NEEDED by users. DON'T BE EVIL!
        HELP me! I've already installed OpenOffice and my next sys's OS will be a flavor of UNIX..  You do business in the WRONG way for 2010-users!
        Or are you copying the outdated, universally hated-by-pros M$oft business-model? In less than a decade of Internet time, there won't even BE a
        Microsoft- except for those who are complete Net-Noobs and can be victimized easily. IE8 is a constantly-patched virus magnet. Please
        DO NOT go down that road.....for your own good.
        The De-Crasher

         Uhhh, whatever, ednob. Take offense at whatever you want to- it's your constitutional Right.
        Yes, it's pretty hard to make all these deep-rooted proggies work together. But I think that's the Coder's job to anticipate, not mine.
         All the secuityware I use is pretty popular.  AND-
         I'm too busy in the courtroom to spend much time as a TOTAL what's-new $product$ nerd.
        I JUST EXPECT MY SYS TO WORK. AND IT IS OBVIOUS THAT ADOBE PLUGIN UPDATE TRIGGERED THE SEVERE PROBLEM
         This answer is that I'd just like my sys to be able to access my weather site Intellicast.com , which my NEW! BETTER! Flash 10
         installation just froze hands-down in the best, latest, most secure browser- FFox. For 15 minutes. That's all I have for you.
          Adios!    You can go away now.  I billmy tim at $200/hr and have lectured by invitation to NASA, DECUS and a whole lot of other folks.
         Been using the Net since 1991- when you HAD to learn UNIX.
        =======================================================================================
        For the man who really tried to HELP me, Syncwulf, here is some error-data I could capture- even with a frozen browser
        I had to kill with Task Manager.
         The message the INTELLICAST SITE reported to me was
       ADOBE FLASH ERROR V. 10
      Error: Error #2058: There was an error decompressing the data.
        at flash.utils::ByteArray/_uncompress()
        at flash.utils::ByteArray/uncompress()
        at MethodInfo-1()
        at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEventFunction()
        at flash.events::EventDispatcher/dispatchEvent()
        at flash.net::URLLoader/onComplete()
      And naturally it froze before I could even send off a Crash Report to help Adobe.
      Too bad for that other window I had open to a client, eh? Had to end the whole FFox run, all tabs.
      All help appreciated, but all snotty lectures from guys who were wetting their diapers when I was using
      Princeton's IBM 360/91 in 1969 to program in ALGOL 60 will be ignored.
      Thanks, SYNCWULF! Your reply arrived at the speed of electrons thru copper = 9 inches per nanosecond.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 often locks the page when ads are moving, only in the Firefox browser.

    If I for example want to download from www.mediafire.com the page comes up, then the Adobe Flash Player 10 puts up a warning box (before the ads appear in the window) and tells about an Action-script Error:
    SecurityError: Error #2060: Misuse of the security sandbox: ExternalInterface-caller http://cdn.mediafire.com/helper.swf has not entrance to http://www.mediafire.com/?vb3ky92o1vc8s58.

    at flash.external::ExternalInterface$/call()
    at helper_fla::MainTimeline/getString()
    at helper_fla::MainTimeline/frame1()
    If I answer "Continue" the ads come up and I can procede. If not, all will be locked and I have to start the Firefox from the beginning. If I click on some link before saying continue all will be locked as well.

    Same thing here. I updated Flash to 10,2,153,1 installed and cannot load Flash apps like Facebook Scrabble using FF4.0
    I reverted back to FF3.6.16 and it works fine.

  • Adobe flash player 10.2 slows down then locks up Internet explorer 9

    I have new windows 7, IE9 (which is great), but when new adobe flash player 10.2 installed, slows IE9 a lot and after switching to a few different sites, locks up IE9 completely. This is on all 3 of our computers. Uninstall newest flash player, IE9 runs smooth and fast once again. I have tried all ways, to install player first, then update IE8 to 9, and vice versa, nothing changes the outcome is always the same. I love IE9 because it's so much faster loading than IE8, but this flash player issue is a real headache and can't figure out why. Is there a patch for this? What is the problem? Thanks for your help

    Okay, thanks for your advice, which gratefully turned out to be good advice!  I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 assuming that Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 would replace my previously existing Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 installation in my Mozilla Firefox Web browser.  At a similar time that Web browser was updated from version 3.6.13 to version 3.6.14 of it.  In Firefox's "Tools" menu's "Add-ons" I could then see "Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.32" and "Shockwave 10.2r152" listed and assume that those are two designations of the same add-on.  In 32-bit Windows XP Home Edition I returned my Hewlett Packard notebook computer's S3 Graphics TwisterK HP card's video memory to 16 MegaBytes (MB) via "Start, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, S3Info Plus" and on the drop-down list box selecting 16 MB instead of 32 MB; after that I clicked on "Apply" and in the successful change clicked on "Yes" to a necessary restart of my computer to effect the change, and may or may not have clicked on one or two "OK"s.  I tested the new Flash Player by playing and watching a portion of the movie under "Adobe Flash-Video Test" on the Web page http://www.chemgapedia.de/vsengine/info/en/help/requirements/flash.html.  The video and audio signals of the movie there gratefully appeared to be fine, other than the not-surprising waiting periods for data to be received on my computer from the Internet using my slow, but cheap dial-up Internet service.  Thanks again for what proved to be good advice for me!

  • Opening Lock on a MAC to download the Flash Player

    I have a MAC and can not unlock the lock to download the Flash player.  When I enter my ID and Password it does a little wiggle. I tried my Apple password as I have in the past and it didnt work I then tried my Adobe password and that didn't work either...

    Hello,
    The authentication being asked for is your computer's administrator password.  This should be different from your Apple and Adobe account passwords.
