Flash player locks up web browsers

I'm having problems with Flash Player locking up my web browser.  Any time I play a flash movie to make the browser crash (not responding).  I've tried IE 8, Firefox, and Chrome all with the same results.  Here are the specs:
ATI Mobile Radeon driver version 8.632.0.0
Flash version 10.153.64
Windows 7 HP 64bit
4GB Ram
Dual Core AMD
Please help!

currently flash is not available in 64bit.
32 bit version can still run on 32 bit browsers. (It doesn't work on 64 bit IE)
Is it a specific swf which is crashing or any of the flash content?

I have IE 8, Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 6.0 on my laptop.  I have the latest version of Flash on all three.  All of of a sudden, the Flash Player plugin will crash and the browser will lock up any time I open a page that uses Flash.  What could be doing this?

Here are the files in the Flash folder:
    Flash Player Trust
    Flash10k.ocx
    FlashInstall
    flashplayer.xpt
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil10k_ActiveX
    NPSWF32.dll
    Version is 10.1.85.3

Hi, thanks. I think we need to take a look at the Flash files.
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back all files listed. You will need to right click on the NPSWF files and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.

  • OS X 10.8.4 Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1

Flash Player locks up OS in Firefox 27.0.1, Flash is ok in Chrome.
I go to Youtube and play a video in Firefox and the image is scrabbled; pixelated shows a lot of green and screws up the whole system, if I use chrome flash is fine. The Firefox version is 12.0.0.44, I have tried earlier versions but I get the same result.
This is most annoying because Firefox is my main browser.

Chrome has ha separate plug-in from Firefox. Functions independently of it. Green screen (in Windows) is almost always caused by out dated or corrupted video drivers. Not something common to Macs since the hardware is proprietary, and the Drivers are in the BSD subsystem.
Gotta ask, how come you haven't run the 10.8.5 update? It came out October 14.

  • Flash not working in web browsers

    Hello,
I'm working on an Intel Mac, 10.4.7 and recently the Flash
plugin for my web browsers -- Firefox, Safari, Opera -- stopped
providing audio: video works fine, but no audio coming through. I
am getting audio in other applications, so I know the sound
settings are not muted somewhere on my computer.
I can't trace this problem to anything specific, except
around the time I noticed this problem I had installed the latest
version of iTunes. But, after working with Apple tech support, and
doing what they called an 'archival reinstall of the Apple OS, I'm
still having this problem with not getting Flash audio in the
    browers.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

    have you tried re-installing flash

  • Adobe Flash Player crashes in all browsers

    Hi,
I have had issues with playing videos before. They would constantly freeze (while the sound continued), it was like I was watching stop motion videos all the time. This was a recent problem that started happening within the last month or so. I got really fed up with it so I looked for a fix for it on google. The result of that search was: I was told the videos might be freezing so often because of the fact that I had two adobe flash players in operation on google chrome. I was told I had to try turning one off in order to get the player to work properly. I turned off one then the other and then both to no avail.
    BUT
then the flash player refused to work on ANY video. I figured it might just be Chrome but it happened in Firefox too. (I'm afraid to update internet explorer because I don't want it to not work there). I keep getting the "shockwave player crashed" error message in Chrome and the equivalent in Firefox. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling adobe but that did nothing.
My operating system is Windows Vista 32bit, I used both Firefox and Chrome web browsers both with the latest versions, I have the latest version of the adobe flash player.
At this point in time I can't get any site that runs on Adobe flash player to work and no videos that run on adobe flash player work. My problem is officially a whole lot worse.
    HELP!!!!!!!!

I'm having the exact same problem.
Until today, I haven't had any problems with flash, and then, this morning, I turned on my computer, went to youtube.com and the page almost immediately froze.  A message popped up saying that flash had become unresponsive and asked if I wanted to close it.
It does this on any website that tries to load flash content.  I've tried both Chrome and IE.  I'm running Win7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Compaq Presario CQ5300Y PC.
Everything is completely up to date.
    UPDATE:
Last night I ran a virus scan.  3 viruses were found so I quarantined them.  I turned off my computer for a couple of minutes and when I turned it back on, everything had been fixed.  Not only is flash working again, a problem I was having with Skype is also fixed.  So if anyone else is having this problem you might want to do a virus scan.

  • X Pro and Flash Player Error with web-based PDF readbook

Everytime I try to view a web-based PDF book (with multiple PDF files) I get an error/alert that reads:
"To View the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat."
    I am currently using:
    IE Explorer 9.0.8112.16421
    Adobe Reader X 10.1.7
    Adobe Acrobat X Pro 10.1.4
    Shockwave 12.0.2 Development
I have all of the appropriate settings enabled/disabled in the browser. Before I installed Adobe Acrobat Pro the files opened perfectly in IE9. I believe, but am unsure, that I was just using Reader X at that point.
Of note...the PDF books in question still open perfectly if I DOWNLOAD the file and open it from the desktop. The issue is when I try to view it in the browser(a setting enabled in the preferences). This is an issue because I don't have the time or space to download these files and need to view them in the browser for efficiency.

You would usually get this message if you don't have the Flash Player plugin installed.  However I do not quite understand why you get that message when viewing a PDF in the browser, but not when viewing it from your local disk.

  • Mac OS X - Flash Player crashes in all browsers for site (bug?)

    Hello,
I just received a complaint by one of my clients that customers were no longer able to visit his site (using a Mac), as the flash player was crashing everytime the site was loaded, no matter what browser was used. I started investigating this using the latest flash-player installed (v11.1.102.64) and it seems that their is a new restriction present, a flash-movie can not be higher then +/- 4090pixels (I've been testing this while updating the code) on a Mac. When I visit the same site on Windows (flash player v11.1.102.64) it never crashes and shows the full height of the site 5276px, no matter what browser I use.
I believe this must be some bug, as the browsers I tested are the same and I can't remember havind this problem with previous versions of flash (as I would have noticed this). Could someone confirm me if this could be a bug, and it should actually be submitted somehow? Or am I overlooking something?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I'd like to investigate this for you.  Do you have a URL I can try this out on?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • Open Flash Player instead of Web browser

Is it possible to set flash builder to open the built swf with flash player instead of the web browser?

if you go into your project properties, you select run/debug settings in the left pane, on the right pane select the project and then go to edit.
from there you can set the launch path,
    it would be something like
    http://localhost/MyProj-debug/MyProj.html  for browser
    or
    c:\MyWorkSpace\MyProj\bin-debug\MyProj.swf to launch in flashplayer

  • Flash player crashes all my browsers

    Hi,
The problem appears on a new and clean XP SP3 (or SP2)
    installation.
I changed my graphic card last week, no effects...
There is a virus or something causing this kind of crashs?
Maybe a trojan on my External hard drive, but nothing found
    after a complete scan.
I tried to uninstall/reinstall all flash player components,
    no effects.
I realy don't know what to do.
    Athlon 2200, 3go DDR, GeForce 7600 GS, XP SP3
    Thanks.

Give examples of a site where it crashes?
Can you view youtube videos without crashing?
My browsers (all of them) crash when I view any cam streams
at justin.tv or ustream.tv but it works on youtube.com
What is the error message your browser displays when it
crashes? Click on More Details and post the result here. Do you get
    ipcamera_mjpeg.ax errors? That's what I get.

  • Flash player crashing in all browsers for live video

The Flash video player is crashing all browsers when I try to watch live video (specifically, live feeds out of Egypt, notably Al Jazeera's live feed).
I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.6, using Safari, Firefox and Chrome browsers. In Chrome, I can hear audio for about 60 seconds - no video - and then it crashes. Safari & Firefox crash almost immediately. They all give me various messages about Flash crashing the browser.
I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player, then re-installed it, rebooted my laptop, etc. I checked all the player settings, and they're apparently set as they should be.
    Any ideas?

The same thing is happening to me in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. I cleared my cache, deleted my flash cookies, and reinstalled Flash. None of those worked to bring it back. It was working on a PC running XP yesterday.

  • How does Flash Player differ on various browsers?

Internet Explorer: Flash Player is installed as ActiveX® plug-in. Installing Flash Player in Internet Explorer doesn't install Flash Player on other browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Opera, and Netscape.
Mozilla Firefox / Opera / Netscape: Flash Player is installed as a plug-in. Installing Flash Player in any of these browsers automatically installs Flash Player in other browsers too. For example, if you install Flash Player in Mozilla Firefox, Flash Player gets automatically installed in Netscape if Netscape is present in your machine.
For installing Flash Player in a browser, using the browser, go to Adobe site. Download Flash Player and double-click the downloaded file to install Flash Player.
Google Chrome: Flash Player is integrated with Google Chrome. You don't need to install it separately.

Have you installed Flash from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions the latest version of Flash for your phone is "Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.63)".

  • How to install Flash Player on two different browsers?

Have a Windows Vista 32-bit PC with two browsers: IE8 and Safari. Flash Player already installed on IE8.
I want Flash Player to run on both browsers and am concerned that installing Flash Player on Safari will mess up the existing Flash Player on IE8.
    How to proceed?
    Thanks,
    Marty

    Problem solved!
Created a System Restore Point and boldly charged ahead.  Using the Safari browser, I opened up the Flash Player download page and installed the version for Safari.
The Flash Player Plugin for Safari installed correctly with zero negative effect on IE8 Flash Player.
I was being overly cautious ... my concerns were unfounded.

  • Flash player locking up PC (total freeze)

My PC started locking up (total freeze) since I updated my Flash player to the latest version, no mouse, no keyboard, requires hard reboot everytime. I uninstalled it and now everything is ok now, please fix it, becouse I really need it for navigation.
    I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64bits, on a ASUS K45A, Core i5, 8GB RAM, Intel graphic 4000 video board.
    Browser: FireFox.

I just downloaded  GFX_Win8_Win7_64_9.18.10.3131_PV now to see if something changes, Just installed the Flashplayer plugin again and tested to make sure if my system would freeze again, and after 10 minutes it happened again.
Just uninstalled it after another hard reboot, and everything is good again.
What could be happening? I noticed that nothing happens if I use google Chrome, I don't know about I.E, haven't tryed it, and I'll never do (I'm not that desperate).
