Flash player_need to watch an swf file
Hello All,
I know very little about flash. A client just sent me a flash
file (swf) they want me to look at as a reference. I've installed
the latest flash player. When double click on the swf file, I get
an error that this file format isn't supported. Anyone know if
there is a way to see this file?
Thank you!

HI
You need the SA Flash Player.
Download an evaluation copy of Jugglor then go to
:\Program Files\FlashJester\Jugglor v30\Projector Files
and click
CS3FlashPlayer.exe
this has now set the player to play any SWF file,
So now click on a SWF file and now it will work.
Enjoy

Downloaded latest Safari update that informed me that older versions of Adobe Flash Player were being disabled and then advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before. (Instead of opening, it comes up as a page of code).
Hi..
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All
Now select the Storage tab.
Click Delete All
Relaunch Safari to test.

Flash CS6 can't open play SWF files without importing and destroying them, how can I get around this?
I'm just trying to preview an swf file in flash like I have with all previous versions. What if my SWF loads external content from an online server?
Not only does the current flash player prohibit such activity, it doesn't even pop open an error anymore saying there was an error connecting to an online source.
Normally, I would simply drag the SWF into Flash and all connections would go through. I could see traces, errors, and experience no issues.
Now I can't even do that. So what then? You have crippled a fundamental use of the program, but THANK GOD we have that deco brush that nobody asked for.
And for the record, the nature of my work benefits from not necessarily allowing the Flash Player to connect to online content. The error it pops up? That's simply another method of error checking that I require. Updating the Flash Player options is not an option.
Why would you even remove this key feature from Flash anyways? It's been there for years ... has the ratio of people importing SWFs (a rather useless gesture in an increasing OOP world) really outweighed the people using Flash as a testing environment that much? -
Flash Lite - Automatic playback of SWF-files within MMS
Dear flash communty,
I've the problem that SWF-files doesn't play automatically when I open the MMS I received. I tried to solve the problem with SMIL files, but it seams that the Flash Lite player doesn't support these scripts. Does anyone of you know anything else to solve the problem? Is there another way to implement this feature?
Greetings,
NoctemWe have been working with one of our customers on delivering
an on line sales tool using the Adobe Connect environment. They for
the usual legal reasons wished to use a sales aid they had already
created. This was a flash based CD-rom with various flash movies
initiated by rollovers and buttons.
But there was two problems:
1. The index would not work i.e. the menu page appeared but
the subsequent movies and animations could not be found
2. The click throughs and rollovers would not synchronizes,
i.e. if the presenter moved forward through the presentation the
participants did not.
Both of these obviously make it useless.
After over three weeks of R&D we (David Kwaw , Steve
Grovenor and J ) have developed a bespoke piece of programing,
based on Sync SWF
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobatconnect/articles/basic_syncswf_pt1.html
That solves this issue, we have since refined the coding so
that ONLY the presenter has control of the flash presentation,
making it more like Adobe Presenter just ALOT more flexible and
better looking.

Flash 10.1.53.64 -swf files stuttering
We have a bunch of training courses that are stuttering on HP Pro 6000 desktops after updating to the newest version of flash. The graphics driver is Intel Q45/Q43. We have other HP desktops and laptops that play these video just fine with the same version of flash. If we roll back the flash player to 10.45.2 it start working again. We have tried a bunch of different updates to some test machines (see below) and none of them have resolved problem. Our monitors are HP LE2201w. If I disable and then reenable directx direct3d acceleration it seems to fix the problem, but a reboot it is back at the stuttering again. (directx version 9.0c (4.09.0000904). Also have disabled hardware acceleration in adobe settings and the graphics card, but no luck. We have rolled back the OS to HP factory default and still see the issue. About to open ticket with HP but wanted to check with this forum if anyone has had issues similar to this.

14.42.5.5284I am also experiencing the same issues with our HP 6000 Pro computers. Presentations published using Adobe Presenter 7.0.6/PowerPoint 2007 stutters on the 6000 Pro with Flash Player 10.1.53.64. I also tried updating Flash Player to 10.1.82 and 10.1.85 with the same result. It appears to be only happening on the 6000 Pro (with E8500 processor) and our current workaround is to disable one of the cores in the BIOS.
The other workaround is to downgrade to Flash Player 10.0, which is not idea given the security vulnerabilities in this version. Flash Player 9 also plays the Presenter files just fine. I recently updated the Intel Q45/Q43 Express graphics driver to 6.14.10.5284 and still getting the stuttering issue. I have been able to reproduce this problem with Flash 10.1 on IE, Firefox and using the standalone Flash player. A case has been logged with Adobe, but they have not been able to reproduce problem on their end. There has to be an issue specifically related to Flash player 10.1 conflicting with hardware on the 6000 Pro. Whether it's related to the processor, graphics card, or another hardware component, we haven't been able to pinpoint this yet. -
Converting video to swf files in flash for breeze
Hello,
I am using Adobe Premiere Pro 2 and wanted to know what the
best video codec and audio codec to use when I export to create a
video file to insert into flash to convert to a swf file for
breeze? I am having trouble with the audio, must I demux it first
before I put into Flash? Or is there a audio codec that I can use
in Premiere so I don't have to demux the audio?
Also, when I insert a swf file in breeze plug-in for PPT, it
does not play the video or give me the controll by presentation
playbar I checked off. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, could use
some help, thanks.billcorrigan schrieb:

hi,
if you work with the player component the .flv is not
embedded in the
swf. In Breeze you can only insert a single flash file I
suppose, so the
attached .flv file won't show up.

Flash 10.3 installed ok but Player 9 activates for standalone swf files
This is a rather interesting scenerio. I am running Vista 32 Bit (upgrading to Win 7 soon), using IE9 and I am trying to view .swf files that require Flash Player 10. No problem, I uninstalled all Flash Player components using the Flash Player uninstaller. I rebooted, reinstalled Flash Player and confirmed all was working ok. Add-ons are enabled, and all checks show that I do have 10.3 installed. The problem that I am facing is when I try to run a seperate .swf file, the player that pops up says "Flash Player 9." The .swf file will not play as a standalone but it will play in my browser. How do I get Flash Play 10 to be my default player? TIA for your help.
The Flash Player browser add-on and the standalone player are two different downloads.
Get the latest standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer. Replace your current player with the new download. You may also need to change the file association to reflect the new name (flashplayer_10_sa.exe). -
My windows 7 machine does not recognise .swf files. I have down loaded the flash player but I think but it is linked as a plug in with chrome and IE. How can I get my windows to recognise the .swf files to play them.
The downloaded file is the projector, not an installer; you need to make the file association manually:
move the downloaded exe file to a location you can remember, e.g. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
right-click on a swf file and select Open with > Choose default program
navigate to the folder you saved the player and select flashplayer_13_sa.exe -
Keynote Flash .swf file to IWeb does not work correctly
I create a presentation in keynote, export to flash and save as a .swf file. I then drag it into a website that I am creating and it shows up as a text file; in other words the title of the file shows up in the box. What am I doing wrong first of all and then secondly, where do I get the HTML code from these files that I have created as I believe I could use the HTML snippet to import the code?? Please help
This seems to be a problem before the file even reaches iWeb. I exported a Keynote presentation to SWF but when I check the file info it shows that the file is a HTML file despite the fact that it has the .swf extension. I changed the "Open With" to Flash Player but that didn't make any difference. I then tried to upload to a server and it transfers the file as text.
It's got me buggered!
An yideas?
Cheers...>Scotty -
Creating a flash gallery for swf files
is there a template out there for a flash gallery to display other swf files?
Like an image gallery, but instead of images, they are swf files (some could be interactive as well).
Thanks !You may have to do your own searching for such a template, but you should be able to convert an image version into an swf version without too much modification. If you are loading the files dynamically the same commands would be used. You may just need to mask the area for displaying the swf's since their stages will not define their boundariies when they are loaded into another swf.

Flash cc .swf file question
Hello
i am at a stuck point on a project I am working on which includes editing a pre built flash player banner in the .swf file format. My problem is I need to change where the links are directing to in the flash banner but have no xpieriance in it. I installed flash cc and noticed it won't let me open a .swf file so I could try and give editing the link a go.
I Did download so-think swf editor and decompressor with no luck as I don't understand it's mechanics, but really want to be able to find a permanent solution for future projects to come within the adobe cloud applications I am already working with.
my question is what are my options for being able to edit swf files do I have to turn them into .fla files and if so how would I do that as I already attempted to simply rename the files .fla instead of .swf but flash cc found problems with that.
I am very much stuck and am encouraging any guidence I could possibly get to find a resolution to my problem, please help!
thanks
ErikYou cannot edit swf files... they are the result of publishing the fla files that create them. You need to acquire the fla files and edit and publish them in order to have the swf with the changes. If you are not able to acquire the fla files then you probably do not have the legal right to use the file.

Differences between the 2 ways to play local swf files in flash player
There are 2 ways to allow the flash player to play local swf files:
Add the directory/file of the swf to the Global Flash Player Trust directory. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ActionScript/3.0_ProgrammingAS3/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118a9 b90204-7c95.html
Add the directory/file of the swf to the Trusted Location Settings in the Local Settings Manager.http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlayer/LSM/WS6aa5ec234ff3f285139dc56112e3786b68c-7ff0.htm l#WS6aa5ec234ff3f285139dc56112e3786b68c-7fea
Adobe doesn't mentioned in the document what's the differences between these 2 methods, and they look has the same effect. But when I'm doing it on OS X, Safari 6.1, the first method doesn't work (It was working when I was using Safari 6.0). And then I tried method 2, it works…
So I'd like to ask what are the differences between these 2 methods to play local swf files? For playing local SWF files, Download the Macintosh Flash Player 11.9 Projector
It's a standalone app. Just copy it to your Applications folder. Launch it, and drag the SWF to the Dock icon. It'll play. -
Open *.swf files local
Hi,
with Macromedia flash paper, I created some swf-files. It is no problem to upload these files and watch it with Safari, but how is it possible to open a swf-file on my iBook directly, eg. with a double click?
I tried to set Safari as the default applicaton for opening it, but it is not available.
What do I miss?
Thanks,
Japday
iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.5)Well guys, problem solved.
Changed the swf file ext. to have no ".swf" at the end.
All started to work with flash player as it used to.
So in a way it is a Tiger thing, since with .swf at the end used to open in Panther, and so had those file extensions left like they were.
All OK and sorted now.

SWF files not displaying in browsers
Just installed CS6 Web and Design Premium on 27" iMac with OS X 10.7.4. SWF files from Flash 5/Dreamweaver 5 display fine in all web browsers, but Flash CS6 (ActionScript 3.) SWF files result in the message - "Adobe Flash Player has stopped a potentially unsafe operation..." I set the root folder of the web site I am working on as a Trusted Location Settings in my System Preferences and restarted, but no luck. What am I missing? Many thanks to anyone who knows what the issue is.
For some darn reason, DW or swfobject thinks that there is a Flash player version 15.... and there ain't! ... at least as far as I know.
Back the version down to the lowest that will work, version 10 if possible... that will avoid most of the "Update Flash" warnings.
<param name="swfversion" value="15.0.0.0" />
Change this in both places to version 10 and test again
