Flash Player not displaying control bar: pause, stop, full screen, etc

How do I change settings to allow the control bar to appear?
Thanks.

Controls are in the "interface" embedded into the pages containing the Flash content. Flash Player doesn't "create them". It displays them based on the code received from the page. If there's a problem with the page code, or the browser isn't reading the code properly, the controls may not display.
Basically, you can't fix the web page from the player.
Does this happen with ANY videos or just certain sites or a specific saite?

  • Flash Player Not Displaying Only White Space

I have a WP 3.0.2 site. When I try to embed a swf file I have uploaded, all I get to show up, in either a post or a page, is a white area the size of the height & width paramaters. In order to play the flash video, I need to  right click and select "play" from the menu so watch the movie.
I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong or why there are not play, pause stop, controls showing up and why the video preview image does not show up either
I am pulling my hair out over this one.surprised
NOTE; The WP SWFObject Plug-ins do not help with this. I have tried many of them to no avail.

  • MP3 flash player not displaying in IE

Hi all, I'm pretty new to flash and I'm unsure why this mp3 player isn't displaying on IE. It works fine on Firefox. I didn't originally create this, but am working on it after it was built. The code looks somewhat old and different to me, so I'm not sure if that's the reason it's breaking in IE. Usually when I see code for flash I see an <embed> tag. The code goes like this:
    <table>
                    <tr>
                        <td><h4>Audio Clips</h4></td>
                        <td width="60px;"><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="LWMusicPlayer.swf" width="45" height="21" id="player-holder" style="visibility: visible;"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><param name="flashvars" value="mediaPath=CityofJazz.mp3"></object></td>
                            <td width="100px">City of Jazz</td>
                        <td width="60px;"><object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="LWMusicPlayer.swf" width="45" height="21" id="player-holder" style="visibility: visible; "><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><param name="flashvars" value="mediaPath=HappyDays-GetHappy.mp3"></object></td>
                            <td>Happy Days - Get Happy</td>
                        </tr>
                    </table>
Does anyone know offhand what could be causing the problem?

You mention Flash, but you are actually posting in the Flash Player forum.
You would get more help if you posed in the Flash developers forum.

  • Flash Player not displaying text/fonts

My operating system is Mac OS X 10.6.7, Snow Leopard, 2.5 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. My main browser is Firefox 4.0. I recently upgraded my Adobe Flash Player to the latest version available.
My problem is that the flash player is not properly displaying fonts or text, not only in my broswer but in emails. I have repaired my disk permissions, repaired my disk, uninstalled adobe flash player and reinstalled in, updated my software including the Java Script. I am at a lost as to what the problem is. I am including a snapshot of what I see with this error below:

  • Flash Player not displaying menu options on Windows 7 computer

I am having problems with two of the websites running Flash Player -- esthergrayphotography.com and frascoimages.com
Both of these websites worked fine on my old Windows XP computers.  I recently bought a new Gateway computer (Gateway FX6860-UR20P desktop) with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.
When I opened these websites on my old computers, they had user selectable menu options at the bottom of the page.  On the new Windows 7 computer, none of these user selectable options appear, although if you run the mouse over where they should be, the mouse pointer will turn to a hand and you can click there and the option will open.
I have tried everything that I can think of but have been unsuccessful in getting the new Windows 7 computer to show these user selectable options.  I have tried to uninstall and re-install Adobe Flash Player (both the 32 bit version and the beta 64 bit version).  I have tried Internet Explorer (both 64 and 32 bit versions), Firefox and Google Chrome.
For your information, the new computer has the following hardware / software:
    Intel Core i7-2600 3.4 GHz
    8 GB DDR3
    1.3TB HDD
    ATI Radeon HD6750
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on how to get the user selectable menu items to display properly?  Thanks.

Here is solution I used for IE10, Window 7 64 bit:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie10-windows_7/ie10-says-adobe-flash-player-is nt-installed/d3c1eda6-cabc-4ca5-b4d9-dcba0c3aaad5
    1. Internet Explorer> Tools (or Alt + t)>Internet Options>Programs>Manage add-ons (Show: All add-ons) verify that the Shockwave Flash Objects are enabled.
    2. From Safety on the IE Command Bar (you may have to right-click the IE menu or IE toolbar and enable the Command Bar) uncheck ActiveX Filtering.
If that helps, it would be safer to re-enable ActiveX Filtering and make an exception for the affected sites. See this article:
How to use Tracking Protection and ActiveX Filtering:

On some Windows platforms only the bottom few mm of the image is visible in both IE and Chrome (see image below).

This has only just started happening and is only apparent on some computers but is presene in all browsers ??????
    Any suggestions ???????

Adobe released a fix (beta 11.5.502.124, date 20 november) here:

    For internet explorer:

    For MaxOSX:
    http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/labs/flashplatformruntimes/flashplayer11-5/flashplayer11 -5_install_mac.dmg
For Chrome there is no fix yet, as got (old) Flash embedded, can't plug separately.

    Thank's for your help

There are two different versions of Flash, one version for IE (ActiveX) and another version for all other browsers (Plugin version). You need to install the Plugin version,
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: <br />
    [http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. <br />
Save it to your Desktop.<br />
    2. Close Firefox using File > Exit <br />
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, <br />
    {XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
    3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
    * On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen). <br />
    See this: <br />

  • Flash Player Not Displayed

As a base to run off:
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
    Intel Pentium
    HP G60
Scanned for viruses, clean (Combofix, Gmer, Housecall, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, unhackme, tdss killer, NPE, HijackThis)
Disabled Norton Antivirus (Temporarily) to see if it was a confliction
Only happens in IE (8 & 9, tried both) but Chrome and Firefox work fine so I'm thinking it must be in the IE plugin or IE itself
I've removed both flash and java and all other Adobe products and reinstalling, didn't work.  Removed all using the corresponding removal tools for adobe and java products then reinstalled, didn't work.
I've also tried resetting IE completely and removing user customizations, didn't work.  Reset security levels to default, worked once but then wouldn't display again and security levels were at default.
I am up to date on flash, java, reader, and Windows so I don't believe updating is going to do anything since I am on the latest update.
Please let me know if I left anything out, I tried to leave as much detail as I could.

  • Flash Page not displaying in IE7

I have a flash page located at
    http://www.springmountainranchut.com.
By clicking on the menu at the left titled "The Mountain" and then
Clicking on the menu bottom center titled "Master Plan Map &

Movie" link. The .swf was created using MX Studio 2004 with
published settings of action script 2.0, flash player 7. IE7 using
flash player 9 will not display the page where IE6 using flash
player 7 displays just fine. I have uninstalled flash player 9

Does anyone know why this is happening?

I don't know the specific location on Vista, but on XP it is
    here:
    C:/Windows/Downloaded Program Files
All of the plugins that IE uses are stored in this folder.
Typically, I simply delete the entire folder, then, the next time I
open IE, the browser re-downloads all of the plug-ins, and flash
    works again.
Uninstallers don't work with a corrupt control, you actually
have to manually delete it from the downloaded program files

thanks. i tried but cant delete the folder. it says 'you need

where do i get the permission from? im the

  • Flash Player Not Working after many reinstalls, reboots, et cetera.

    Hey everyone.
Here's the required info as per the guidelines before I get too into the background of the problem:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (SP 1)
Web Browser: Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.17633   (Please note this is not typically my default browser. I usually use Chrome, and Firefox is somewhere on the machine).
Flash Version: 16.0.0.305  (Although this also happens with the beta 17 version).
I tried to get help with this on the skype forums as this was primarily a skype-centric problem at first, but it has quickly turned into a problem with my flash player on internet explorer. Skype apparently relies on IE and specifically IE's flash player, which I cannot recall using ever on this machine. Any website visited in IE that has flash content somewhere on the page will freeze with either a blank white screen, perpetually load with only one or two non-flash elements on the page (such as a big black bar at the top on the adobe flash help page: Flash Player Help.)
The ultimate goal of this troubleshooting is to get IE's flash working again so that Skype will begin working again.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, and rebooted countless times. I uninstalled IE and reinstalled it from the ground up, I have done so many things to try and diagnose this problem, but I just can't understand what it is. My flash works fine in Chrome, which is separate from IE due to the flash player in IE needing ActiveX, from what I understand.
I can provide any additional information on request, and I will also link to the skype support thread so as to not require you to go through another troubleshooting step that they didn't already have me go through: Skype Fails to Send Messages, Update Status, Numer... - Skype Community
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

  • Flash player not working on safari; any reasons why?

I just recently noticed that my safari flash player isn't working. As i was trying to watch some youtube videos, it keeps saying "Blocked-Plug in" when i continued to click on it, it then asks me to get the lastest flash player which i did. Even after downloading, redownloading and repeating the process, it still won't allow me to watch any videos. I've found some comments in here from the previous year with people who had experience the same things but their techniques aren't working either. Im just getting really frustrated and need some help. Fast

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    3. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    4. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Custom flash player (not flv) working with custom flash content
