Flash Player not working since update

I recently updated my Flash player and since then I only see a black box when something tries to play. No error message or anything- just a black box. I am running windows xp with mozilla firefox 3.6.8. Any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the flash player and I can always see the animation saying it was successfully downloaded. I also tried disabling the firewall in CA Security Center and that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated. THanks!

Hi, sorry for the delay. Thanks for the info. To disable hardware acceleration, just go to youtube and bring up any video and right click on the video. Click on Settings, then Display Settings and you'll see where to turn it off.
Ok on the SWF plugin Enabled. Unless you upgraded to a 64bit system, you most likely are using a 32bit. Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash Open Flash and post back all files listed there. Any NPSWF file(s) you will need to right click on and then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers. If you need directions to locate the Flash folder, let me know and I'll post them.
Once we have this info, I'll have some info on CA for you.

Adobe Flash Player not working since update

Good Morning, I had a update yesterday and since then anything that uses Flash Player doesn't work, it stops sends a report to apple and thats it i've tried uninstalling the flash player and still nothing, I tried repairing the permissions in disk utility. Really no clue what to try next.

I now have a solution to this problem, which has certainly worked for me.
Backup system. Go to User/Home/Library/Preferences. Move all files in the Preferences folder to a new temporary folder on the desktop. Log out and log in again. Test. Embedded video should work.If it does, copy the old preference files back to the original Library/Preferences folder but select DO NOT REPLACE. Log out and back in again.
To retrieve e-mail accounts, mail, and account settings, copy the COM.APPLE.MAIL.PLIST file from the temporary desktop folder into the Library/Preferences folder and select REPLACE. When you're happy that all your data is in place and everything works, delete the temporary desktop folder.

Flash Player not working after updating to 10.2 - Plz help - my research project is on hold now

I updated my flash to latest version.. Everything gone.. Flash is completly not working now. I cannout see any youtube videos or any flash websites.
I tried all the way possible to troubleshoot it. But failed. Still not working.
My OS - Windows 7 - 32bit
IE - 9 (latested) 32bit
Flash Vesrion - 10.2 (Latest)

I have even removed teh compatible flag - such that to remove kill-bit, Still dint work.
I see that eventhough i install in my IE manage addons i dont find any flash player or shock player to enable or to disable. .its completly not there.. Its very strange.
I am using kasperky Pure. I could not figure out is there any option in kaspersky pure to disable ads block/popup.?

I am using Windows 7 - 32 bit. and the IE - 32bit.
I have tried all the uninstalling and installing procedure. But it did not work for me.
In my first post I had told that i was not getting any Addon in my IE. then i figured out when i click show all add-ons, then i see a shock player addon in my IE of the lastest verion 10.2. So please negelct that fact . I have an addon too in my IE 9
But nothing works.

when i right click on that place i get only 2 options:

Even when i open the youtube. the video portions are blank. n when i right click on it shows the above same 2 options.
Kill-bit - when i checked it, i had a Compatible flag - but its values where all zeros. Still i deleted it. (So i do not think that was an issue)

I am using Kaspersky Pure.
I have even checked everthing is fine in my Internet options- Security tab
1. Internet -
Security level for this zone - Medium-high (Custom level - Scripting=enabled)
2. Local Intranet -

Furthere - Uninstall programme shows as follows : (Kindly have a look)
Further - My knowledge - I do not have any adblock or adblock plus. I only suspect if Kaspersky Pure, if it has an option to block it. (I am not aware of it).
Further - In my Chrome Plugin i see like this : I have a doubt here- Why i have 2 shockwave flash versions?
I even tried disabling them one at each time alternatively and tried if youtube works - still same problem.
I am suspecting might be quick time could have generated this problem. i had recently updated the quicktime. But when i checked in the help forum I got to know that quick time can cause problem, so i completly uninstalled it now. I do not have quick time in my system - but still the probelm was same.
Please help.

If you had Flash Player before the update, you should be able to reinstall it from Google Play. Go to the Play Store and look under My Apps, then All and it should be there ... update it. There are several threads about this on this forum if you want to do a search.

Flash player not working after updating to 11.5. Help please!

I am having problems running Flash player, I am NO expert whatsoever but I will do my best to describe. After updating to Flash 11.5 all applications using Flash including Youtube, Google Streetview etc stopped working. Youtube simply said "an error has occurred" the rest of the applications just didn't load and left me with a blank area of screen where the app/video etc would be. Have tried the usual removal and re-installing and re-installing older versions. The closest thing that has worked has been to re-install the even older version 10.3, which allows Youtube to work but all other applications request I update first, which of course leaves me back at square one.
Could anyone please shed some light on this for me? Could it be a known problem? I've quickly exhausted my limited knowledge!

Latest Flash Player not working since loading it

My husband is a surfer, and until Dec. 3 was able to view live streaming surf contests online. After getting the "must have latest Flash Player" message from every video/live stream he/we try to watch, and downloading Flash Player 11 three times (once with the help of a Symantec tech)and we still get the "must have latest Flash Player" message, dear husband has not been able to watch the Pipeline Masters now going on in Hawaii...NOT a happy camper. Is Flash Player 11 not compatible with IE8? How can we get videos running again? I don't want Chrome, so please don't send me there. Thanks.

I agree with your sentiment about Chrome. I use it on test machines only. I won't have it on my everyday computer(s). There are other browsers that work better:
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Safari (from Apple)
Opera
Those use the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers)
I personally use and recommend Firefox. It's faster, safer, and it can import ALL your IE settings (history, bookmarks, login info and passwords) when you install it, so you lose nothing. Plus... they're free.

So my problem is, every version of flash beyond 10 I have tried to install, has failed to work on my computer in nearly identical ways. The download works fine, the installation works fine, the plugin appears in firefox, and the flash version detector on the website works fine. However, where there should be a flash video or game, there is either a blank space, a black space, or a still image of the playback program (as is the case on youtube). I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash and firefox multiple times and deleted every cache I could find, to no avail. I've been using v10 for a while now, just so I can view videos, but it still bothers me that this has not been resolved. Any help would be fantastic.

It would be helpful to know if other browsers work or not. This type of behavior makes me think that either a browser addon or a system utility/service is conflicting with Flash.

     Press the "Delete All" button.
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

   If it doesn’t quit, Force Quit it.
   Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.

Why does flash player not work with facebook?

Why does flash player not work with fcebook? Whenever I wish to view a video, I get the message that i need to upgrade my flash player. Then no matter how often I download and install flash player I still get the message that I need to upgrade my flash player. When I go check which version I have, I always get the message that I have the most current one. I run Mozilla Firefox with Windows. I don't know anything else.

This means you don't have the latest version installed. Update to 11.9.900.117, and Firefox will allow it: Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
