Flash player object enters print spooler file
This just started, yesterday all was fine. when I try to print a pic from Picasa it won't print -- the print spooler file has a SHD file with a flash player object. I keep clearing the spooler and emplying the file, but they keep reappearing. I uninstalled all adobe programs, but it's still happening. Windows Vista system 32 HP all in one printer.
thanks so much for helping, but I need to fix this. Yes, I'm finding what seems to be the same wierd files each time I give the print command for a pic. problem is, I have to stop the print spooler, then delete the two files, but then I can onlly print a doc. if I try to print a pic, it happens again. the hp printer will not cancel the doc. and it will not let me print another until I clear the print spooler file. I tried resizing the pic, but the same thing happened again. I have deleted all adobe stuff from my c: disk, figure I'll down load it later. Any other ideas? I'm going to HP noiw, wish me luck.

Where is the printer spool file on my Mac ?
I have a Mac Pro with 10.5.2 - and I print with 3 large Epson printers.
I had a print that started to print (Photoshop CS3)- and I saw that it was not what I wanted. I canceled the print in the Epson icon (on the dock) - and I shut down the printer and reset it.
But, when I turned the printer back on, the print started again.
Where is the file that holds prints - the printer que or printer spool file - on the Mac?
I have looked everywhere, and I cannot find such a folder anywhere. Anyone know where it is??
I used the CUPS tool
http://127.0.0.1:631/printers
to finally get rid of it, but I still would like to know where that file is kept.
DickUnfortunately, even though when Apple announced Handoff and Continuity and said Bluetooth 4.X was required, not all Macs with Bluetooth 4+ are compatible with Handoff. If the checkbox in System Preferences -> General isn't there, your Mac isn't compatible with Handoff. You can confirm that by going to "About This Mac" under the Apple Menu and then selecting "System Report." Then select Bluetooth in the upper left and see if your Mac is Handoff compatible. I'm typing this reply on a 2011 MacBook Air with Bluetooth 4.3.1 and running Yosemite but it's not compatible with Handoff.
You still will be able to make and receive phone calls on your Mac as long as your iPhone is within Bluetooth range. You can set that up in the FaceTime preferences. That's part of Continuity.
I have seen some instructions + software on the Web to enable continuity on Macs with Bluetooth 4+ that otherwise aren't compatible with Handoff. You'll have to do a web search if that's something you're interested in learning about.
Wish I had better news. -

DickWhenever you print to a printer through Leopard, the printer you are printing to will show up in the dock. Click this icon and it will open you Printer Queue. You can also go to Print & Fax Preference Pane. Select your printer and then click Open Queue. Select the print job that is in the queue and click the delete button.

Is There a Flash player to view .swf/.flv files?
The Flash Player download at Macromedia is for viewing Flash
in a web browser.
I need to install an app on some co-workers machines so that
they can view the .swf and associated .flv files that I make.
Does Macromedia make such an app or should I download a
third-party .flv player for them to use?
ThanksWith respect you're not quite right on that topic.
Flash player is to view swf files on your computer where
macromedia shockwave player is used to view websites with flash
content. Try downloading flash player version 10 and restart your
computer. -
Downloaded latest Safari update that informed me that older versions of Adobe Flash Player were being disabled and then advised me to go to Adobe and down load latest version of Flash Player. Did that, but Flash Player won't play swf files, which it did before. (Instead of opening, it comes up as a page of code).
Hi..
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click: Delete All
Now select the Storage tab.
Click Delete All
Relaunch Safari to test.

Flash Player on Android, select multiple files
We have a web app that uses a flash uploader and it works on Android phones and tablets but it will not let us select multiple files on these devices. Is this possible or is there a trick to get these devices to allow us to select more than one file at a time?
Thank you,
KeithFlash Player for Android is no longer available. For more information, see here:
http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/06/flash-player-and-android-up date.html
Android users can still download and install Flash Player from the Archived Flash Player Versions page on the Adobe website.

Decrease print spool file size generated by PS CS5 Mac OS 10.6.8?
Hi,
Certain big/hi-res Photoshop (CS5) documents - sent from a 2010 era Intel Mac to an older HP 1200dpi Laserjet (LJ 2100M/HPs PostScript, standard HP/Apple drivers) - were taking forever to print.
In one case, for example, a 6MB on disk, Grayscale 8 bit, 109MB/40MB "doc size" .psd, when printed from Photoshop, generated a 135833k spool file.
The same .psd opened with and printed from Preview, only a 3229k spool file - which printed out in a short time.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any comments or suggestions. The plug-in is there but no twain interface for the scanner appears as an option under file import in PS
you answered your own question -- Adobe will point the finger at Epson, and Epson will call Adobe out for breaking their driver -- but the 1250 is how old
this question gets answered here a couple times a month, and there are many web articles explaining the problem in more detail...
the short answer is scan in the stand alone scanning software (ViewScan may solve your issue)
most notably, that approach keeps Ps running in 64 bit and keeps it freed up to continue working while that ancient scanner chugs away
PS: I am not trying to beat you up for using good hardware that is still working for you, I am just trying to add a second opinion what others have said -
Controlling autoupdate of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX with mms.cfg file
For several years we have suppressed Flash Player ActiveX from autoupdating by using the mms.cfg file, with the setting "AutoUpdateDisable=1" -- and it has worked without a problem.
With the constant updates of Flash Player for security reasons, we decided several months ago to change the autoupdate setting and allow Flash Player ActiveX to update automatically, without notifying the user, checking every seven days. We changed the mms.cfg file to this:
AutoUpdateDisable=0
AutoUpdateInterval=7
SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1
We are using Windows 7 64-bit, so the mms.cfg file was copied/updated to: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash, as well as C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
The problem we are randomly seeing across our 2500+ computers is a notification that a Flash Player update is available. This is occurring on machines with the mms.cfg file in place.
Does anyone else have this same issue? We were also wondering if the encoding of the file, i.e., ANSI or UTF-8, has any bearing on the effectiveness of this mms.cfg file. Or has a registry setting been updated overriding the mms.cfg?
We believe the file is encoded in UTF-8, but it is difficult to be 100% certain of this.
Screenshot of the auto-update notification:
Thanks
Currently running Flash Player ActiveX 11.9.900You're right, it sounds very malwareish, but they will know more in the Flash Player forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer . This is teh Adobe Reader forum. When you post there, a screen shot may help.

I would like to know if its at all possible for an external
application to somehow get information on all instances of the
flash player such as what video (flv files) they are playing, the
playback state and the position in the video.'inItem' does sound like it would be the ADMItemRef, but that's just a guess. It'd be nice if someone from Adobe *cough* could check in here from time to time for stuff like this that no one except them would have any idea on. Especially when Flash is supposed to be our way forward for UI in Illustrator.

Making Flash Player Default Program for .flv Files
I'd like to use Adobe Flash Player as my default program to open .flv files. How do I find the flash player executable file on my computer? I have the latest flash player successfully installed on my computer (Win7, 64-bit, Firefox) but cannot locate the executable file when I use the find program to use with this file type browse command. Any ideas on where it may be located? I did not see it in any of the Adobe folders in the program files (x86) folder. Thanks for your help.
Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable player.
There is a standalone player (Projector) that you can download from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, but this player can only play .swf files.
There used to be an Adobe Media Player to play .flv files, but is is no longer available. Use a 3rd-party player like VLC Media Player to play .flv files. -
Flash Player won't run all files in FireFox
A service related web site I visit recently posted a photo
gallery I sent them. I have been unable to view it using Flash
Player 9 in Mozilla FireFox. I am able to view all the pre-existing
photo galleries. When I right click on the window, I get the
message "movie not loaded". I am able to view the files in IE. This
is really puzzling. The administrator of the web site has tried
reloading my files, but that has had no effect. HELP please.I am facing a similar problem. Almost all of the flash movies
are not being played by the flashplugin on firefox. A right-click
pops a drop-menu with "Movie not loaded..." and "About Adobe Flash
Player 9" entries. Please do reply if you find a solution to this.

Printer spool files in v11 vs v8?
Why does Acrobat version 11 create spool files that are up to 10 times larger than version 8 for the same document? Version 11 is running on Mac )S 10.8.3, version 8 running on 10.5.8. Both print to a shared laser printer on a windows server, and usually the v11 file will never print - it just gets dumped.
Any clues?
ThanksThe same thing happened to me:
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=662944#662944
But To be honest (and I dont know if this really had anything to do with it)... The tech support at apple said that the print server had to be stopped when you create a print queue. I hadn't, I shut the server down trashed and recreated my queues since then everything has been working lovely. -
Flash Player won't write .SOL file
Using a downloaded flash player application (game called
telescope from www.dyson.uk.com) on three different computers. All
computers running XP professions SP2 and logged in with
administrator permissions on all three. One computer (my home
desktop) creates the directories to save the current game status
but does not create and save the .sol file. The other two computers
save the file and keep the game status correctly. I've checked .sol
permissions in the registry and they are correct. I've tried
deleting and re downloading the application file. I've tried
transfering one of the .sol files from one of the working computers
and the bad computer finds it but still won't update it. I've tried
deleting the sub- directories from "documents and
settings/me/applicaton data/Macromedia/" as well as searching for
other instances of the .sol files but no luck. Why would the same
game work on two computers but not on the third one? Any responses,
inspired or otherwise, are most welcome.
JohnHi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
Download this if you haven't...
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

Adobe Flash Player Auto Install downloads same file repeatedly after successful installation.
Adobe Flash Player 11 Active X 11.5.502.135 was successfully installed and working in browser. Auto download continued to download and install same version repeatedly, at least every hour. Uninstall and re-install does not fix the problem. The previous version, 11.5.502.110 did the same thing.
PC with Windows 7 64bit. Browser: IE 9.0.12, 32 bit. Have temporarily uninstalled Flash Player to stop the auto downloads.I had the file in both locations, they looked identical.... here's the one from \SysWOW64\\\
I just pasted the last 4 months. Let me know if you need the rest of the last two years.
