  • Dowload and install adobe flash player in ubuntu

I need to install Adobe Flash Player  with Ubuntu

    Hello,
Flash Player on Ubuntu is available via Software Updates or apt-get command-line.  You may need to update the repository for it to detect the new version of Flash Player and make it available to you.

  • Problem with Flash player in Ubuntu 11.04 for Firefox

I am running Ubuntu 11.04 on my laptop and use firefox as my main browser.
I have a very strange experience when browsing video sites like Youtube.com or Bumperhit.com
Some videos are playing all right.
But some others, show an error message "Please install Flash Player" etc etc.
I am unable to understand, why this is happening only for some videos?
Also when I try to install the flash Player from Adobe's site, there is no option to save the program.
I would like to save the program, so that I have to download the installable multiple times.
Thank you in advance for your valuable guidance.
    Regards
    Sujata

Adobe offers the Flash installer as a tar.gz archive and as an rpm archive.<br />
Both files can be opened with a proper archive manager and you can copy to libflashplayer.so to a plugins folder in the Firefox Profile Folder (you need to create that folder) or to another folder that Firefox scans for plugins if you do not want to install the plugin via the software installer.

  • Plugin Finder Service never finds Adobe Flash Player

I have tried Plugin Finder Service for Adobe Flash Player on Ubuntu-Linux & Windows, but it never finds it, and I have to manually install it.

    Hello,
Flash can't be installed via the plugin finder service. The right way is to either use the standard Ubuntu apt-get and download it from the repositories or you can follow the instructions mentioned in this article [[Install the Flash plugin to view videos, animations and games]]
    Hope that helps

  • How can i set the html5 player by default in ubuntu instead of the flash player ? i just can use the flash player as default

Well i use lubuntu 14.04 and i've realized that the html5 player on youtube works so much better than the flash player, but i can't use it by default, for play videos i have to request the html5 player, and the problem is when i restart the browser or when i turn off my computer, big is my surprise because youtube is using the flash player. If i disable the flash plugin is ok because youtube doesn't have another option but to use html5, but this is not the solution, because there is still some videos that use flash, and other web sites too. so: how can i fix this or i just have to wait that mozilla gives html5 support for linux, because on windows the default player is the html5. i'd really appreciate any help, thanks

I usually use Ubuntu, and am not aware of HTML5 being the default for Flash videos on Windows.
Is it more likely you have chosen an option on the YouTube website to use HTML5. I think this page offers support and includes an option to toggle HTML5 or FlashPlayer.

  • Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 ~ How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control

Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux) and Firefox 3.6.3  ~  How to uninstall the Adobe  Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control
In general Adobe needs to offer Ubuntu (Linux) support.  I don't use Windows anymore and will go with whatever company provides me the Plug In's I need to function.  In this case at the current time, I can't use Adobe flash Player to view You Tube video's.  I followed the link that helps a user fix the problem:
Solve a Problem: The video won't play:
    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=56115
I then saw that you suggested that I first needed to uninstall any older versions of the Flash Player and then install the latest version of the Flash player.  I clicked on the link find out how to uninstall it here:
How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
They didn't offer any help with Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux).  Please offer the instructions and automatic (non-terminal) uninstaller.  Also, I want an automatic installer for Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 that is easy like like you have for Windows and like Sun's Java has for Linux.

You should go to this site to see what versions of Flash Player and Shockwave Player you have installed.
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
The versions you are listing (10.0 r12, 10.0 r2) appear to be Shockwave Plauer versions, not Flash Player.
If you want to uninstall Flash Player, there should be an uninstaller in the install directory.  I do not know where that is on Linux.

  • No Sound with Flash Player 9 on ubuntu 7.10

I hear no sound when I play back flash clips on my ubuntu 32
bit 7.10, using Flash Player 9.0 r48. I downgraded to version 7 and
had sound, only to find that the 7 version has a known bug where
audio/video get unsynchronized after some time. Now I am back using
current 9.0 r48, and have no sound at all.
    Any hint?

Thanks for your responses twiistedkaos & mouse256.  I launched firefox from the command line, but no error messages were received when viewing flash content.  Also, I do not have additional flash support installed (only the latest flash plugin from the extra repository).
I am loading modules snd_emu10k1 and snd_pcm_oss in rc.conf.  If I remove (do not load) snd_emu10k1, then I get sound from flash, but no sound from media or games.  When I load snd_emu10k1, then I have sound in media and games, but no sound from flash.
This has turned out to be an alsa configuration issue.  My flash 9 sound is fine now.

  • Flash Player error on Linux Ubuntu

I've downloaded the ".tar.gz" file from the Adobe Flash Player Download site, and i saved it on my desktop but somehow it only contains one file named "libflashplayer.so" and the instalation file is missing. I've tried to re-download and re-extract the packet but still, it doesnt show up. Any ideas how i can fix this and successfully start watching YouTube videos on my Ubuntu?
    Thank you,

    Hi,
My suggestion is to install Flash using the Ubuntu package using synaptic. This way, the package manager knows about it and, when a new Flash version comes out and is repackaged (like it did yesterday), the update manager will automatically install it for you.
Find and start synaptic under the panel System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager. You will be prompted for your administrator password (login password if your user has admin privledgies) then synaptic will starts. Once it loads and finishes rebuilding its indexes, enter flash in the Quick search text box. The package that you want to install is flashplugin-nonfree. Click on the check box at the start of the line, and select mark for installation. If you are prompted for additional packages (I was prompted for the flashplugin-installer package), click on mark to select the additional packages. Once this is done, click on the green check mark apply button in the toolbar and synaptic will download and install all of the needed Flash packages.
Another option, described at the Ubuntu documentation site page https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/internet/C/web-browsing.html , is to install all of the restricted web browser plugins using the one  ubuntu-restricted-extras package. This installs Flash, restricted gstreamer video codecs, the Sun Java 6 plugin, and the unrar unpacker program. To do this in synaptic, search for the ubuntu-restricted-extras package, select it to be installed, mark all of the packages that it depends on, and click on apply. You can also simply click on the "click here to install" link on the above listed page, but on my system there is no application associated with the apt link, and I do not know what to use for this at this time.
The process of finding and filling any package dependencies, with easy, automatic upgrading, and easy package removal is where using the system package manager shines.
Note that there may be legal issues with installing these packages as they contain patented or closed source software. See the above  web page for a link to the Ubuntu web site for more information about this.
    I hope that this helps,
    William

  • Flash Player - Ubuntu 8.04 64bit

    --------- Orignial Question ---------------
Hi. I am running Ubuntu 8.04 (64 bit version) and have been
unable to install the Flash Player that was automatically suggested
by the download thing. I think the version was ment for the regular
linux OS not the 64 bit. Is there a alternative?
Oh also i am using Mozilla for a browser.
    --------- Solution Found ------------
    Installing "icedtea-gcjwebplugin" and the
"Flashplugin-nonfree" through synaptic package manager solved that
    problem.

Thanks for reaching out.  Can you send me a private message with your company info and contact details?  I'll get it escalated.  Just click my name. (Edit: I found your email address on your profile, which I think is what I need to know for the moment.)
In the meantime, I'm wondering if either of these is a viable workaround:
    - Disable hardware acceleration in IE  - How to enable or disable software rendering in Internet Explorer 9
    - Disable hardware acceleration in Flash - How do I disable or enable hardware acceleration?
If disabling hardware acceleration in Flash is a viable workaround, you can deploy a customized mms.cfg file that disables hardware acceleration to your managed hosts.  I can give you details, but let's confirm that it's viable before we dive deep into that.
Adobe Flash Player Administration Guide for Flash Player 14 | Adobe Developer Connection
In the meantime, I'll try and get a test configuration going in our virtual infrastructure and see if I can reproduce this.

  • Adobe Flash player freezes on RTMPT stream in Ubuntu 10.10

For the past few months all flash players have been crashing under ubuntu, when I watch a live stream with Flowplayer using RTMPT, on port 80
    88.
The stream works on Mac OS and Windows Vista.
The stream starts fine and freezes if I switch between tabs, or even if I don't do anything for a few seconds.
At the moment I am using the latest flash player - flashplayer10_2_r2_32bit_linux_012611.tar.gz
    My OS is Ubuntu 10.10
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

    Hi dandab…
Although, I had installed SubInACL <http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=23510>  once without solving my problem, I uninstalled and reinstalled it and Adobe Flash Player 11 is now up and running.  Thank you very much.

  • Flash Player crashes instantly, cannot disable hardware acceleration - Ubuntu 11.10 Acer Aspire One

    Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit
    Firefox 10.0.2 32 bit
    Flash 11.1 r102
I have a Acer Aspire One netbook
As soon I hit "play" on a flash movie, flash player crashes
I have tried to disable hardware acceleration to eliminate that possibility, but the check box does not respond to input
I read that the flash player system controls do not respond when there are scrollbars around the screen (as there are on a small netbook screen) so I zoomed out to get rid of the scrollbars, but the systems setting menu is still unresponsive when I try to disable hardware acceleration

Thanks Carl, but as I mentioned:
    >I have tried to disable hardware acceleration to eliminate that possibility, but the check box does not respond to input
eg. when I right slick on a player, the setting menu opens up, but the "Enable hardware" check box does not respond to a mouse click and remains on  I also tried tabbing around the settings menu and using the return key to select/ de-select but that doesn't work either
