Flash player pages won't work?

Is there a work around for adobe flash player? I can't use certain sites like farmville that require flash player and I am wondering if there is a solution app or download?

Actually, there is a workaround, but it ain't pretty, and it won't be native to the iPad. It will require a computer that you have access to (Mac or Windows). You can download a remote desktop app (RDP app for Windows, VNC for Mac) and use that to connect to your computer to play Flash games.
Outside of that, no, there is no other way.

I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 12 from Adobe site.  I have IE and Windows 7 Premium.  Computer tells me Flash Object is installed and it is enabled. It won't work for me.  Adobe help page says it is either not installed or enabled, but my computer says otherwise.  Can you help me get this thing running?

  • Help please, Flash Player still won't work

I posted a question a few weeks ago but have received no answers and I still can't find a solution to my problem, it is driving me crazy as there are so many sites that rely on Flash Player and I can find no way round it.
My question is as follows: I am able to uninstall and install Flash Player 'successfully' but as soon as I need to use it I am informed that Flash Player is not installed and advised to install it (again), but this doesn't help. I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE 9 (although this is not a 64-bit version) and have been able to run Flash Player until recently. It has now stopped working though. I have tried the entire list of options on how to start it running you provide at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_7__Disable_Fl ash_Player_hardware_acceleration and at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_heading_6, but all without success. The only thing I was unable to do was disable Flash Player hardware acceleration as right clicking on the box did not provide me with a "settings" option.
Please help me as I have hit a brick wall and can find no other suggestions on how to fix this problem. I have hunted in every forum and all the suggestions are the same and I have tried them all over and over without success. What else can be causing this problem? Whenever I install I am told the installation is successful but then told I need to download Flash Player again whenever I came to use it.
Flash player is enabled, Active X Filtering is disabled, all Flash Player browsing data is deleted, Flash Player cache is removed plus I have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works. The only thing of note is that on the pages referred to above and a number of others where boxes are supposed to display the version of Flash Player installed or an error message, for me the boxes appear to be simply grey boxes. Please help

Still have this problem and still had no response. Can no one help me !?!

  • Flash Player 9 won't work with Firefox-Mac 867 dual mhz

I'm using a Mac G4 dual 867 mhz, OS 10.3.5 and can't get Flashplayer 9 to work on Firefox. I have the 10.3.9 update but can't get it to install. Is the problem the OS version or something else?

    Gary,
    Thanks for quick response
"First, through IE6, verify your installed version:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about"
Doing this doesn't show installed version, as it does when I
    go there from my laptop.
"Can you get to other sites? If yes, does FP work there? If
you couldn't get to the doc's website at all, it's an IE6 related
    issue, not FP."
Doesn't work at Adobe either. I can get to the doc's website
but his intro page is a flash video. Get black screen and if you
right click it will say "about Flash Player 9" so I know I'm there
and FP is installed and running
"Many things can be the cause, probs w/IE6 (settings),
AV/IS/Spyware/Adware/Popup blockers, etc.. These can also affect
    FP."
I tried checking the IE6 settings per stuff on the forums,
disabled AVG AV and WINXP firewall and none of that helped. Pop-up
    blocker says it isn't on.
"I'm surprised that your desktop XP didn't have any FP.
Usually it does have it, but the older versions don't show up in
the Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs list. They're way down in
    C:/Windows/System32/Macromed/Flash folder."
Didn't look at Control Panel , just that going to web site
    said we needed FP.
"If you can get to the site and ya just can't view flash, try
    these things:
Then, go down to the Flash folder and see what's there. You
should have a FlashUtil9x, a Flash9x.ocx, an uninstall file and
maybe a txt file. While online as an Admn User, dbl click on the
Util9x and a "wizard" panel should appear. Follow the instructions.
Close/restart IE, test (go to the site). If no-go, reboot, go IE6
    and test again.
Yes, this may get you to FP10, but your IE6 and flash will be
    working."
Already did this also, the only "wizard" that comes up either
automatically updates to FP10 or does nothing. In one of your
previous threads you said it would "set" FP. What does that mean
and what screen/button/icon should I be seeing?
Anyway, one of the several times I did it, I let it install
FP10 but it didn't solve the problem.

  • Flash player just won't work..

I am using a PC and operating on IE. I have downloaded the latest flashplayer a number of times, it says "installation complete" but then when I go to YouTube for example, it says I cannot watch videos due to not having flashplayer.
I have been through their 'help' steps on the website...  but still no such luck.
    Any help would be great!

Download the Flash Player uninstaller by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save Target as". Save it to your downloads folder - DO NOT run it yet.
    Flash Player uninstaller
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save Target as". Save it to your downloads folder - DO NOT run it yet.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE you open anything else, locate and run the uninstaller.
When it finishes, locate and run the installer to replace Flash Player.
Then, see:  Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make sure it's enabled and ActiveX filtering ISN'T interfering with content.
If all that fails, I'd recommend Repairing Internet Explorer

I also went into the safety tab and deselected

Restarted and still does not work.
    I need help.....
Chrome uses a different and separate plug-in.
There are things about IE you need to know, especially 11. Specifically:
    "User-Agent Strings"
That doesn't mean a lot, I'm sure, but it's the root of your problems, and Flash Player has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft "rewrote" the User-Agent Strings for the abomination they call their latest and greatest browser. User-Agent Strings are what websites use to identify the browser you're using and provide the proper content for it's browser engine, like ActiveX stuff, and Flash or HTML5 video. Thanks to the geniuses in Redmond, WA, the User-Agent Strings for IE11 (which has a Trident engine), ID it as either "Gecko" (Firefox) or "Webkit" (Chrome). Problem is: when the site the directs to the content for one of these two engines, the Trident engine in IE can't intepret it and the site then sees IE as an "unidentified" browser.
The problem with an unidentified browser is that the plug-ins in that browser aren't recognized either, so even though you're up to date, it says you need the latest Flash Player when you use IE11. YouTube... has converted to HTML5 video so if it doesn't detect Flash Player, it can display HTML5 (MP4) video which requires no plug-in to play. Facebook can't do that, because HTML5 doesn't apply to games... only video.
Microsoft has no plans to "fix" the mess they've created because they think it's a great idea to block you out of the websites you visit.
They recommend using "Compatibility View" and pretending that you're using an older verison of IE... Problem with that is that it's seen limited success, and you have to enable it for EVERY page that has problems... individually.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What could it conflict with?

I'm  using Firefox 3.6.8 (and sometimes IE 8.0.6001.18702IC) on Windows XP Pro, SP 3.
For some weeks now, I have been unable to hear any sounds on anything Flash-based, from YouTube to games at MSN.com or embedded videos on any site using Flash.  Initially I had assumed it to be because of having QuickTime installed because I know QT likes to hijack everything.  I uninstalled QT (and Real Player) and Flash Player then reinstalled Flash Player (and Shockwave Player just in case) and guess what?
Yup.  Nothing.  When I uninstalled everything, I used a program called Revo Uninstaller, which includes a registry cleaning option.  I then used Abexo and WinASO's registry cleaners to make sure I got everything else that even looked like QuickTime off my hard drive.
When I reinstalled Flash, the following programs appeared in C:\Windows\system 32\Macromed\Flash:
    Flash 10i.ocx (10.1.82.76)
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX (10.1.82.76)
    FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.82.76)
    genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
    FlashUtil10i_ActiveX.dll (10.1.82.76)
    NPSWF32.dll (10.1.82.76)
    KB931433
    FlashInstall
    Install
    Flashplayer.xpt
When I check IE's "Tools" and look for add-ons, it says that Flash (Shockwave Flash) is enabled.  I even enabled the other Adobe add-ons for Acrobat and such just to be sure.  Firefox shows Shockwave Flash and Shockwave for Director both to be enabled.  The Flash control panel settings don't help: I have all sites set to store about 100 KB on my computer to make sure there's enough room for everything but still nothing.
Before anyone asks, my audio drivers are up to date, thanks to the manufacturer's website.  I have DirectX 9.0c installed and everything else works fine.  I can play audio and video elsewhere with no problems.  It's only Flash that's showing me this trouble and there's no hint as to what else could be interfering with Flash.
    Any ideas?

Well, great.  I tried the uninstall/reinstall before, but not with the uninstaller, so I was hopeful that this time might do it.  No such luck.  The video still plays, but no sound.
All the sound settings are working with everything else from games to media players.  I set Windows' firewall to allow both the ActiveX and plugin for Flash, just in case.
In the Flash folder, I now have:
    Flash10l.ocx (10.1.102.64)
    Flash Util10l_ActiveX (10.1.102.64)
    FlashUtil10l_Plugin (10.1.102.64)
    Genuinst (6.0.2800.1531)
    FlashUtil10l_ActiveX.dll (10.1.102.64)
    NPSWF32.dll (10.1.102.64)
And the setup and text files that went with 'em.
I've also done a system restart since then and zip.
I went through IE and Firefox and looked for any file associations (like .flv) that I could manually change over to using Flash, but no go.  The settings panels for Flash have all been set to allow YouTube specifically (as a test) and to allow 10KB of storage space for all affected sites.
Now what?  I'm really not looking forward to a reformat and reinstall, but it's looking like that's what it's going to take.

Subject: Flash Player 10 does not work in IE or Firefox. What could it conflict with?
Something is strange with your list of modules; you list FlashUntil10i_Plugin (10.1.102.64), but this is really 10.1.85.3
I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely (using http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html), then restart Windows, and delete all remaining files in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash.
Next reinstall both ActiveX (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe) and the plugin (http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe).
After that, if the problem persists, have a look at this page http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83739.html

Okay, here's my file on doing the Flash update. Happy reading.
    *Flash Player for PPC Macs*
Adobe's last release of Flash Player for PPC Macs was in November, 2010 with release 10.1.102.64 Subsequent releases are for Intel based Macs only.
To check your installed version of FlashPlayer - http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
    To update you should download:
Flash uninstaller: [http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,] Make sure you get the right one.
Flash installer 10.1.102.64 [http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.1.102. 64_and_9.0.289.0_archive.zip]  Open the archive to reveal yet more archives and multiple files. Select: flashplayer10_1r102_64_ub_mac.dmg
    To install:
    1) Run Disk Utility and verify your hard drive.  If the hard drive reports errors then it will need repairing first (another topic).  If it verifies, run Disk Utility's repair permissions.
    2) Back up your hard drive, ideally to a bootable clone. A bootable clone will allow you to restore your hard drive to its original state should something go wrong.
    3) Quit all applications to ensure nothing is actively using Flash. You can even do the next step while booted to Safe Mode to make sure.

[What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode? (Mac OS X)|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564]
[Safe Boot takes longer than normal startup|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107394]
    4) Run the uninstaller application. Adobe says, "Adobe recommends that you restart your computer before you install a different version of the player."
    5) Run the installer application from the .dmg file you got from the second download.
    6) Use Disk Utility to repair permissions on your computer. this is important when installing anything from Adobe.
    7) Restart your computer.
    Notes:
Adobe installs things all over your computer. Simply dragging a file or two to the trash won't ensure you have uninstalled all old file components.

  • The new Adobe Flash Player update don't work on my mac

The New Adobe Flash Player update doesn't work on my mac pro tower!!!! i've tried to reboot it and uninstall and restall it!!!!

I have the same problem. OS X 10.9.2 and Firefox 28. When I tried to go back to 12, I realized it is no longer available, I can only get 13, which leaves my pages blank.

  • Firefox froze up. So I removed from computer and reloaded. If I close Firefox, can't restart by clicking on the icon. Have to end process in Task Manager. It then starts. Some links on some web pages won't work.

    Hi,
As I say in the question I don't know what happened but Firefox just stopped operating and then became erratic. So I removed the firefox programme from my computer and reloaded Firefox.
It now runs normally but I can't run Firefox on two tabs, only one, and if I close it down during a session I can't reopen it using the desk top icon. I go to task manager, processes, and end process for Firefox - then I can start it using the icon on the desktop.
I have also noticed that some links on a web page won't work - javascript is involved.
    Thanks for your herlp,
    Mike FD

It sounds like you are getting in a hurry.
If you force Firefox to close in a hurry, then it won't normally start until you re-start the computer. There are ways around this, but I'm not going to go into them right now.
None-force way to close Firefox down: Close the program and wait. Do something else. Firefox appears as if it is closed, but it's not. Firefox cleans out cookies and it's cache after you close it. That takes a few minutes. You can't restart it while it's doing house cleaning.
After it is done, then you can restart Firefox normally. You can watch it in the Task Manager.
The same applies if you are installing javascript. You have to wait a few minutes.
As for running it with multiple tabs, I usually have 5 or 6, or more, tabs open at a time. Have no idea what the problem is there. Firefox needs special permission by use of a pop-up option to close with multiple tabs open.

i can't zoom in and out on flash player pages.

Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
