Flash Player Plugin 14.0.0.145 can't view swf embedded in the powerpoint anymore?

Hello,
There is a known issue with Flash not working in Power Point in Flash Player 14.0.0.145.  It will be fixed in the next release.  In the mean time, you can download a beta build containing the fix at http://www.adobe.com/go/flashplayerbeta.
If you have comments on the beta build, please post them at Flash Player Beta Channel, instead of here on the 'Using Flash Player forums.

  • Is there an archive page for Flash Player plugins for PORTABLE versions of web browsers?

Is there an archive page for downloads of Flash Player plugin installers for the PORTABLE versions of web browsers like Firefox ESR?
One of my web browsers is Firefox ESR 10.0.7 and it is a PORTABLE version of Firefox that apparently needs a different Flash Player plugin than the normal Flash Player plugin that regular versions of most web browsers require.
I do not want to install the most recent Flash Player plugin PORTABLE version because I've read about problems with it and that's the only version that this Firefox ESR will give me the option to download and install when I try to install the needed Flash Player plugin through the browser.
I already know about the normal Adobe Flash Player plugin archive page, linked below, but that does not have the Flash Player plugins for PORTABLE web browsers.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html
I also looked on OldApps.com and I couldn't find anything there.
Where can I download an older version, possibly one of the 11.2 Flash Player plugins from around April 2012, that will work with this PORTABLE version Firefox ESR?
I tried this question on the Mozilla Firefox help forum but no one could answer it.
    Thanks for any help,
    digiday

    Hi Pat,
Thanks again for your reply. Your solutions seemed like they might work, especially since you were able to tell me where the Windows system Flash Player plugin files are located.
And for a minute or two, I thought it was working.  In my first tests in the PORTABLE Firefox browser I'm testing with, it was actually playing some YouTube videos, but then I found that not all YouTube videos apparently rely on Flash to play... apparently some do and some do not, and I found that most of them do require Flash to play.  I had tested with some of my own videos that I uploaded to YouTube in the past in my first tests today and they played just fine, but then I started testing with some other Flash YouTube videos and they would not play and I got both the yellow bar at the top of my window telling me to download and install Flash as well as the red banner across the video player that told me I needed to install Flash.
Let me also make it clear that I'm testing this on other sites with Flash videos besides YouTube, and webpages that have relatively simple animated Flash graphics, and those alternate tests are showing that the Flash Player plugin for this PORTABLE Firefox still will not work either.
So to spite everything, I tried actually downloading and installing the newest Flash Player plugin, 11.4 something, (which I was trying to avoid) through the browser, and that only proceeded to overwrite my Windows system Flash Player plugin and it DID NOT place any Flash Player plugin files in the PORTABLE Firefox plugins folder.
I had pasted in the files you recommended in to the PORTABLE Firefox plugins folder, and I actaully included ALL the files from that Windows system Flash plugin folder for this test, but unfortunately that didn't work, and even after I tried changing the name of that one file, it still didn't work.
And I am closing and re-opening the browser in between each of these steps in my test.
So here, below, I'm including an email letter that I've now written to a Tor Browser support email address where I had been corresoponding previously.  The "Tor-Firefox" web browser is the PORTABLE Firefox ESR web browser that I've been referring to.  This is what I wrote, which pretty much sums up everything I've tried and been unsuccessful with so far...
    Hello Tor Browser help staff,
I've now tried everything and I cannot get ANY Flash content to play in this Tor-Firefox ESR web browser, even though I've tried installing the Flash player plugin that this browser asks for when I'm on a YouTube page (and even though this computer already had a current Flash Player plugin installed previously).
Let me make it clear that privacy is not important to me right  now during this quest to make the Flash Player plugin work with this Tor browser... I can reset any settings for maximum privacy later when I go back to that purpose for using Tor... right now, I'm just trying to make the Tor browser play Flash content.
So even though I've UNCHECKED the Torbutton>Preferences>Security  Settings>Disable plugin during Tor usage box, and I installed a new Flash player plugin THROUGH this browser, and I even set it to allow all scripts because I thought maybe that was complicating things, IT STILL WILL NOT PLAY FLASH CONTENT OF ANY TYPE.
Now, this, explained below, could be part of the problem that I'd like to ask for your help or SOMEONE's help with there in your department...
If I go to the Tor Browser folder on my hard drive at C:>Tor  Browser>FirefoxPortable>Data>plugins there are NO Flash plugin files that show up in that folder even after I install a new Flash Player plugin THROUGH this browser... I believe that is why it will not play Flash content.
All it does when I install a Flash Player plugin through this Tor browser is to overwrite my Windows 7 system Flash Player plugin, but it does not actually place any Flash Player plugin files in the C:>Tor Browser>FirefoxPortable>Data>plugins folder, so that's why this PORTABLE version of the Firefox ESR browser will not play any Flash content... and it doesn't work from the Windows system Flash Player plugin the way that my normal Firefox (NON-TOR) web browser does.  My other Firefox web browser sees the the Windows system Flash Player plugin just fine and it does play Flash content correctly.
There is, however, one text file that comes stock inside the Tor browser plugins folder and when it is opened it says, "Place Firefox plugins in this directory (Flash, Shockwave, etc)".
So with some advice from someone on the Adobe help forum, I tried copying the Flash Player plugin files from the Windows system folder at C:>Windows>System32>Macromed>Flash in to the Tor browser plugins folder at C:>Tor  Browser>FirefoxPortable>Data>plugins, and that still didn't work.
Note that I am closing and re-opening the Tor browser between each of these tests.
So I then followed some further advice from the expert on the Adobe help forum and I changed the name of the main Flash Player plugin file that I had copied and pasted in to the Tor browser plugins folder from "NPSWF32_11_4_402_278.dll" to "NPSWF32.dll", and that still did not work... note that I left all the other files that I copied and pasted from the Windows system Flash plugins folder with the same name they originally had... I tried only changing that one Flash plugin file name, as instructed by the expert on the Adobe help forum.
I also tried posting a question about this on the Mozilla Firefox forum, but no one there is able to answer this question.
What the problem seems to be is that when this Tor-Firefox ESR 10.0.7 browser installs a Flash Player plugin, it just installs it to the Windows system folder (the same way that the normal (non-Tor) Firefox browser does) and  NOT  into the Tor-Firefox plugins folder C:>Tor  Browser>FirefoxPortable>Data>plugins, as would be needed for it to be able to play Flash content.
No matter what I do, whenever I try to view a YouTube video or any Flash video in this browser, or any Flash graphic content at all, I get the yellow bar at the top of the page that says "Additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page - Install Missing Plugins" and there is a banner displayed where the Flash content is supposed to be that says, "The Adobe Flash Player is required for video playback - Get the latest Flash Player".
And as I explained at the top of this email, I have already installed and re-installed the Flash Player plugin on this computer multiple times, including doing it directly through this Tor-Firefox ESR browser itself.
So can ANYONE there tell me how to get the correct Flash Player plugin files in to the Tor-Firefox browser plugins folder at C:>Tor  Browser>FirefoxPortable>Data>plugins, and where do I get those files?  Everything I've tried, which is pretty extensive, has not worked, and it seems that someone there should know about this.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Need Detailed description of the differences between Adobe Flash Player Plugin and Shockwave Flash

For many years now I have been in a quandry over Adobe Flash (plugin) and Shockwave flash. The quandry is also somewhat exacerbated by the variety of subsetted versions supplied for each.
You know, it is sorta like the name and namespace dilemna provided by Adobe's continuing use of "Macromedia" when sometimes referring to, or distributing, their products... eg still creating Macromedia folders during installs.
I have been told that Shockwave Flash actually contains the Flash plugins. If that is the case should I be upgrading to a newer Shockwave Flash version if  Adobe announces or (as recently occurred) denounces
a newer version of Adobe Flash.
Will you please provide me with details for, and distinctions between, these two products?
Hoping you can respond in a flash ... er... two flashes.
    Thanks

OK Thanks I silly-goofed in describing what I meant in my initial post. I needed to say what's the diff between Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) (plugin) and Adobe Shockwave Player.
So will you please detail the differences between Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) and Shockwave Player?
I have been told that Shockwave Player actually contains the Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) plugins. Is it both
Flash Player ActiveX control for Internet Explorer
Flash Player plugin for all other browsers
    that are contained therein?
If the above is indeed the case, should I be upgrading to a newer Shockwave Player version if  Adobe announces or (as recently occurred) denounces a newer version of Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) .
Here's where I am headed will all this:
I have been asked by one of your coworkers Chris Campbell,  to prepare an Adobe Bug report and paste back to the Adobe Forum thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4428382#4428382
Since I have Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.4.634 and Adobe Flash (aka Adobe Shockwave Flash) ver 11,1,102,55 currently installed and since
Adobe Flash 11.2.202.235 will not install without a "...The  procedure entry point ... kernel32.dll ..." error for my Windows 2000 Professional configuration
I want to uninstall Adobe Flash (=Shockwave Flash) ver 11,1,102,55 and the then further troubleshoot the MLB.TV media player "abnormal spinning circles" problem.
Will the MLB NexDef detector actually detect the "Flash version inside Shockwave player"?  Will the MLB.TV NexDef software actually work nicely with Shockwave Player Flash?

  • Can I use Flash Player plugin version 11.2.202.228 with my Firefox ESR 10.0.7 instead of the most current Flash Player plugin?

I am trying the Tor web browser software pack and it comes with Firefox ESR 10.0.7.
Right now, I'm trying to install a Flash Player plugin because it doesn't have one in this Firefox ESR 10.0.7 already, or this browser just doesn't see the slightly older Flash Player 11.2.202.228 plugin that I already have already installed on this machine.
'''Is there a way to make this Firefox ESR 10.0.7 browser see the Flash Player plugin 11.2.202.228 that I already have installed on this machine without installing the newest, possibly problematic Flash Player plugin?'''
I already have the Flash Player 11.2.202.228 plugin installed on this machine, a PC with Windows 7 ULT, because the most current versions of the Flash Player plugin had some problems and they wouldn't allow Flash content to play at all, so I reverted back to a slightly older version of the Flash Player that was reliable, crash free, and most importantly, it works.
But when I try to play any Flash content in this Tor-Firefox ESR 10.0.7 browser it tells me I don't have a Flash Player on this machine, or installed as a browser plugin or add-on, and it wants me to install the most current Flash Player on this machine, which I DO NOT want to do for the reasons I stated above.
My other Firefox browser, along with Google's newest Chrome browser and a newer version of the Safari browser for Windows, plus an older Internet Explorer 8, all WORK JUST FINE with the Flash Player 11.2.202.228 that I have installed on this computer and Google Chrome and Safari didn't even require having newer Flash Player plugins installed at all... they just see the Flash Player 11.2.202.228 plugin that I already have on this machine and they play all Flash content perfectly.
So can I just make this Tor-Firefox ESR 10.0.7 browser see the existing Flash Player 11.2.202.228 plugin that I already have on this machine?... and if so, how do I do that?
    Thanks for any help.
Also, I'm not able to find an actual community help forum for Tor, even via their "Torproject.org" website... is there one?
    Thanks,
    numetro

You should actually be using Flash 10.3 (11.2 is insecure).[[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox#w_solution-2-downgrade-flash|Solution 2: Downgrade Flash]].
Also, is there a reason you are using Firefox ESR? It's mean for organizations, and doesn't include all the security and stability fixes that Firefox latest (15.0.1) has.

Not quite sure what your question is - I simply don't understand it.
Shouldn't you rather install Adobe Reader to deal with PDF documents?
Please explain in more details if that doesn't answer your question.

I am having this same problem. Before the updates, the Adobe Flash player NEVER crashed in Firefox (it did in Google Chrome all the time) and now it's crashing in all my favorite games....Farmville, Frontierville, Yoville, and Treasure Isle. It doesn't seem to be effecting the less-detailed Zynga games, such as Mafia Wars or Vampire Wars; and I can go into more detailed games that aren't Zynga and they seem to work fine too. I am not 100% sure what exactly the problem is, or who is causing it because I had a Firefox update, and then an Adobe update to the 10.1 beta. So I'm not sure if it's one or the other, or both of them put together.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the flash player so many times my mind is numb, and even tried to find the one I had prior to this new 10.1 and nothing has worked. I even did what that link Chris posted to do, and I thought it had worked at first...I actually got to go into my Farmville and Treasure Isle for a little bit, then it turned around and crashed again.
This is literally driving me crazy trying to figure it all out.....and it upsets me that everything was fine one day, then after some updates, everything is messed up. And it's just my luck that it effected some of the games I like to play the most.

Via Javascripting. Look for Flash detection kits at the

  • Adobe Flash player plugin can not be instleded in my firfox disktop

I can not instill Adobe Flash Player Plugin in my firfox disktop please help

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash:
*an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only
*a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox
*On a Windows system, you should always update both individually.
'''''You do not appear to have the Plugin version for Firefox installed. ''''' If you did, in Add-ons > Plugins you would see "Shockwave Flash ''(version)''". If "Shockwave Flash" is there and is disabled, click the "Enable" button.
Check your Plugins often --> http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
*only the most popular/used Plugins are known by this page
*page will detect only installed, '''''enabled''''' Plugins
    '''<u>Install or update Adobe Flash</u>'''<br />
#'''<u>Using Firefox</u>''', go to the following link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later. Un-check any items on that page that you do not want to download (i.e., "McAfee Security Scan Plus":
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#To update/install the ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''', repeat the process, '''<u>but use IE to go to the above website</u>'''.

Hi, glad that worked for you. Also thanks for the explanation as how you came about this. Yes, from my understanding any Install of the CS5, even a trial version Installs the 10.1 (beta/prerelease) versions. It is not clear to me or others why the 10.1 was used in the CS5 instead of the latest version (10.0.45.2). My only guess is that the 10.1 is very close to being released as a shipping version (final release) to the public. The 10.1 had a target date of the first half of 2010. Perhaps that was the reasoning. This is just my opinion:-)
As I said, many users are having this problem, not just with the CS5, but they Install the 10.1 thinking that will solve whatever problem they may be having with the latest version.
Your thread is very helpful for other users that may be having the exact problem that you were. For this reason if you marked your thread as answered, they would read it first.
    Thanks,

  • Can't get flash player plugin to load on firefox.

I have tried everything to get this one game to play. On IE9 it tells me I don't have a newer version of IE7, but I run IE9. So tried google chrome and I got a virus and won't do anything. So tried firefox and now it says flash player plugin crashed. Help I am not sure what to do, I really like the game.

Download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller and installers directly by right clicking the following links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as" (Firefox).
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Save everything to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anythign yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to your downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
Then run the ActiveX installer and the (other browsers) installer.

  • Adobe Media Encoder CC won't start if flash player plugin is installed

Few days ago I installed windows 8.1 pro on a brand new PC and I was having problem starting AME, clicking on icon simply doesn't sort any effect, the software didn't open. I tried starting it as administrator, deleting \AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\, reinstalling any CC program and even using AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool didn't solve the problem.
At the same time, I was having problem with flash player and firefox; it was just crashing at start, for example at the beginning of a youtube video. Even reinstalling the plugin or firefox itself won't resolve the issue. I resolved by disabling protected mode on flash and after that, the plugin works perfectly in firefox.
Going back to the AME problem, after a few tries, I managed to resolve it by doing this:
    - uninstall Premiere pro and relative AME
    - uninstall Creative Cloud app
    - uninstall flash player plugin
    - run AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool and clearing ALL the stuff
    - install CC app
    - install PP and relative AME
    - NOT INSTALLING flash player plugin for firefox
Only by doing this, AME starts without any problem. Even after a couple of reboots, it starts nicely.
After that, I tried to reinstall flash player plugin for firefox. Just after install, with firefox still closed, i disabled the protected mode to avoid any crashes. And by this point, AME won't start anymore. By just installing the flash player plugin (without even let it crash once) AME doesn't start. The only thing that worked was to uninstall everything again, use the cleaner tool, reinstall CC and leaving firefox without the flash plugin. At this point AME starts without any problem. I tried again to reinstall flash plugin and voilà, again AME simply can't start.
What should i do to fix this? It sounds so stupid that i have to choose between flash plugin or AME, why they can't live togheter on my system? Maybe i just have to wait for an update (for firefox or flash) and see if it changes anything?
Here are some specs of my system, if it helps:
    winows 8.1 pro x64 updated
    16gb ram
    Intel i7 3820
    GeForce GTX 670
latest version of flash, CC and firefox
no plugins installed for any CC software
flash on internet explorer works well

I finally find out how to fix this.
With flash plugin installed and protected mode disabled, I also disabled hardware acceleration in flash plugin options. So I re-enabled protected mode and the plugin worked fine.
After that, I uninstalled everything from adobe, used cleaner tool and than reinstalled all the stuff. Now AME works fine.
Hope this fix will help someone.

  • Unable to download Flash Player Plugin 11.7.700.224

Cannot play games due to inability to update Flash Player Plugin in Firefox. Firefox notes that I need to update, but will not let me do it. Every time I click "Update Now" or type "unable to update Adobe Flash Player Plugin 11.7.700.224", another Firefox screen appears, stating something like "Flash Player 11.6 to 10. blah-blah" has problems and has been blocked by Firefox. I KNOW THIS!! That's why I am trying to update Flash Player Plugin, as Firefox has suggested. As far as I can tell, I have deleted everything having to do with Flash Player...so why am I not able to download the newest version? (I went to Adobe website to make sure everything was deleted, and it showed I had no Flash Player installed.) Am I doing something wrong? I have been trying to download this for quite a while, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can find the latest Flash player versions for Firefox on this page.

  • Why doesn't the Adobe Flash Player plugin show in Firefox's "Plugins" window under Mavericks 10.9.3?

    My specs are:
    Mavericks 10.9.4
    Firefox 30.0
    Flash Player Plugin 14.0.0.125
The plugin is visually verified to be properly installed in the "Internet Plug-Ins" folder in the main library, and not the user library.

    Hello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
    1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    2. Click Deny then Close to close it
    3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
    4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
    5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
    6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
    7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
    8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
    Thanks,

  • Fix for Flash Player Plugin in IE7

I posted this in the general Flash forum, but figured this
was a better place for it as many people are having this issue:
I've seen quite a few people with this issue and they all
seem to have issues finding the fix...I never found a 100% solution
on Adobe's site, but I found some directions that finally worked.
Basically, if Flash Player refuses to work in Internet
Explorer for you (but works in other browsers if you've tried) then
    follow the steps available at:
    Fix
Flash Player Plugin for Internet Explorer 7 or 6
It's basically a mashup of various directions available on
Adobe & Microsoft's websites with links to all the files that

    create a fix that works.

No - webview will not support a flash player plugin.
install flash plugin for WebView "Thread: install flash plugin for WebView"
Richard's comment from the thread (Richard is the JavaFX lead):
As for plugins, we are not likely to ever support running plugins (except maybe applets), for security reasons. There are also additional issues. If the browser is to support arbitrary things that Chrome supports like native client etc, it adds to the footprint of the browser (and security risks). Already the WebView constitutes over half of the download size of JavaFX. I would need a pretty strong justification to make it larger if doing so also increases our risk to vulnerabilities.
