Flash Player question involving Dreamweaver

After successfully installing the Adobe Flash Player, version 10,3,181,26 on my 32-bit Windows Vista with Internet Explorer 9 (also a 32-bit version), I am still getting this message when I open up any HTML document in my trial version of Dreamweaver CS5.5; "Flash Plugin was not found. To view Flash content in Live View, install the Firefox Flash Plugin from www.adobe.com" Why? Did I need to select (or deselect something in Internet Options before I installed the Flash Player? Or am I getting this message simply because I have the "trial" version of Dreamweaver CS5.5? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My apologies, I assumed from your first email mentioning you needed to install the "Firefox Plugin" that you already had Firefox installed on your system.
Depending on which browser you use when you visit the Flash Player download page, it will present you with the appropriate installer. If you want to install a different version, you can simply use that other browser when you go to the download page, or you can manually specify a different version to download.
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
This page will let you select the OS and Player version. You should select "Flash Player 10.3 for Windows - Other Browsers" to install the Plugin version.
Sorry for the confusion.

    Hi Bentley,
I just noticed something. The link that I pasted, to your
post, does not work either. I noticed why, however, and it seems to
be why the link in your original page does not work, and why the
link in my post that goes to your post does not work.
It seems to be that if a link has a period after it (i.e., if
it is at the end of a sentence), the period is incorrectly included
in the "real" link. Somehow, whatever mechanism that processes the
post has a mini bug in it.
If you go to the link that is results in "Sorry, this page is
not available", and look up into the browser address bar, you will
see the period there each time.
I just thought that I would point this out, too, so that the
web techs in charge of the workings of the forums could look into
    it.
Here is the original link, without a period after it, to your

  • Flash player skins in Dreamweaver: progress/buffer indication

Hi, I posted this in the DreamWeaver section but they said to check with the experts here in the Flash forum.
I have some flash .FLV videos that I've posted to a clients website using the built-in Flash skins (Halo is what I'm using).  My client would like to be able to see a moving buffer of how much video has downloaded so the viewers will know when the video is about to clip.  Standard stuff but not sure if the built-in flash player for DW has that option.  Can anyone tell me if it does or not?  What would be the best way to get a buffer indicator (not pre-loader) into a flash player if not?
    I'm using CS4 everything for OSX 10.6.2
    Thanks.

Do you know where I can find a list of parameters for the Flash skins used in Dreamweaver?  Maybe it's just a matter of changing the color of the play bar to distinguish the progress.
I've attached a screen shot to show what I'm seeing.

  • Flash Player Question for Adobe

Hi I am new at this, I posted a Question a day ago under Flash Player 111 people have looked but no
    answer.
I can watch Videos & Animation the only thing that will not work is Adobe download, the screen
freezes every time after telling me it cannot install. It takes a couple of minutes to unfreeze
microsoft askes to send error report but that freezes and anything else I try to do.
After Adobe screen completes it then just drops of the screen, when I go back to
Internet Explorer it asks do I want to go back to session that terminated, if I say yes we go back
freezing again. If I go to home page all works well again. I need the Macromeda Flash Player
for Incredimail, I have been using this programe for many many years only now having this
problem. I have also downloaded the Flash removal program and it worked okay.
Please Adobe there must be a reason.

    Here's my advise.
Focus ONLY on Flash Player. Don't think about the other installs because it just causes confusion.
Now, try this and ONLY this and report back:
    1. Launch Internet Explorer
    2. Go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
    3. Tell us what version of Flash Player it says is installed
Do NOT look in control panels for installed programs. Flash Player is a browser plugin/activeX control, it's not an installed application.  It only works with your browser. The above test will tel you if it's installed and running correctly.
Also, incredimail is an application that gets installed on your machine.  I don't see what it's relationship to Flash Player is.
OK I uninstalled all Flash Players to test this, and incredimail does seem to rely on the presence of most likely the Flash Player activeX control.
Still, do the above test and see what it says.
Then do the steps in this technote VERY CAREFULLY: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/163/fb1634cb.html
If the steps in this technote seem daunting then I'd suggest seriously considering taking the machine to a local professional.

  • Web gallery / Flash Player question

Not sure where to post this, so I'll start here.
In CS3 web gallery, after I create the gallery and it goes to view it, the browser (Safari) open up to a blank page with the following statment / links:
Please upgrade your Flash Player.Already have Flash Player? Click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed.
This is very irritating. I have Flash Player 10 installed. I still get this window each and every time.
I tried FireFox3 and got the same outcome. In fact the only way to get the Web gallery to play is to click the link "click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed", then the web gallery opens. The other link, of course takes me to the Adobe Flash Player upgrade site, but as I said, I already have Flash Player 10 installed.
There must be something in the html code that presents this page first. Does anyone know how to remove / stop this page from opening.
    thanks guys & gals.
    JeffN

The file "flashobject.js" is a Javascript file that, among other things, detects what version of Flash is on the browser and complains if it doesn't like the current version. The code that actually detects the version looks at the first character to the left of the "." in the version number and decides that that is the version. If you are running version 10 of Flash that code decides you are running version "0" and complains.
You can fix this by going to the function "getFlashVersion()" in the "flashobject.js" file and replacing the following line:
         flashversion = y.charAt(y.indexOf('.')-1);
    with this line:
         flashversion = parseInt( y.substr( y.indexOf('.')-2,2) );
You will have to do this with each copy of the Web Photo Gallery you are using as well as with the copies of "flashobject.js" that are buried in your program files for Photoshop (assuming you use Photoshop to create your Galleries as I do).
WARNING: Use this fix at your own risk. I am not a Flash developer, I just know something about JavaScript. I did test this with a Flash 9 and a Flash 10 player but not as extensively as Adobe would if they released this patch. If it doesn't work for you that is your problem.

  • Flash Player question, Whats Apples opinion?

I just got a window suggesting I install Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94
What is Apple recommending about flash player I seem to recall it wasn't too happy with it, about a year or 2 ago?

It has got a lot of security problems that may put your iMac in risk. Moreover, most of the Flash updates are released to fix security issues, so if you can, it's better not to use it. The same happens with Java
OS X Mountain Lion now allows you to choose in which websites you want to use Flash. If you are using OS X 10.8.4 and Safari 6.0.5, open Safari, go to Safari menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Security, and you will be able to choose the websites you want to use Safari in

I am running  windows 8.   I  am not at all familiar with  the new system.  I  cannot  download the latest version of flash player.  How do I do that?

What exactly means "cannot"?  What browser are you using?  Internet Explorer 10 comes with Flash Player preinstalled; use Windows Update to update Flash Player.

  • Adobe Flash Player Question.

Hey, I am trying to create a powerpoint presentation for an assignment at school. I need to embedd a youtube video to my slide and I am using powerpoint 2010. When i go to use to Insert video from website option it is disabled and gives me the error. "Cannot Insert videos from website because no compatible version of Adobe Flash Player is installed." I have just downloaded Adobe Flash Player 10.1 and it still gives me this error.
    Any help?
    thanks

Hi, I don't use Powerpoint and can't help you with it, sorry. However, when you first open your thread here, look on the right hand side where "More like This" is.  There will be threads with similar discussions about Powerpoint. Take a look at one or two and there will also be "More like this" on any of the threads you go to. Then this gives more threads and hopefully you will find your answer.

  • Adobe Flash Player 11 not working on Internet Explorer

Hello, I know this has been a question most people asked but it's not that simple for me
My computer is a Samsung Series 5 Laptop, with Windows 7 Home Premium K 64Bits.
The computer specs are as shown below:
DualCore Processor 2.2Ghz each with a 8 GB RAM. I put up a screenshot of it in the attachments (Sorry it's in Korean)
The problem is the fact that despite having successfully installed Adobe Flash Player, Korean websites do not show the areas where the Flash Players are involved!
I checked where most people look at first: I enabled shockplayer on the addon (Shockwave Flash Object), not to mention disabling Direct X Filtering
THe problems persisted... I checed my Java and it was up to date, not to mention working fine. THe interesting thing is some flash objects are working. THe places where
adobe flash player is involved in www.naver.com or uic.yonsei.ac.kr  shows up BLANK!
It works fine in Google Chrome. It even works fine for some websites in IE 9 such as http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/new-fantasyland/ (I just tried this one, it's not a website I go to)
But somehow websites such as http://www.adobe.com/kr/products/flashplayer.html itself doesn't show flash player linked images/videos!
Here's proof of that (note that I right clicked on the blank spot to prove that the space is not meant for blank but for adobe flash as shown in the last option)
If there are more things I should elaborate on, please comment below!
I'm looking forward to a solution to my problems as well as hoping to talk to some really good Computer-Know-Alls
I really need to understand my computer better to avoid such problems T.T

Oh and just to show how things look like with the problem, it's like this:
And this is what it's supposed to look like:
So yeah, the whole space just turns empty - I can still click on blank spaces and it leads me to the appropriate links (though I have no clue what links I am actually clicking on in IE9, it only shows up for google chrome
I'm looking forward to constructive replies~ Hopefully someone would see this soon

  • About in tears from new adobe flash player 10.3 not working

After installing the new Adobe Flash 10.2.153.1 on my Windows7 64 bit computer, it can not be found when using my IE8 (does not show 32 or 64 bit only 256-bit).
I have uninstalled using your reference on "please read: when asking Flash Player questions" and then reinstalled. It is on the programs list as installed but when I go to a site that needs me to use Adobe Flash it says I need it install it. Whn I go to the adobe web site to verify that I have installed Adobe Flash it only has a box with a small red x in the corner.
I have updated my devices drivers.  I do not completely understand what a "kill-bit" is; however, I have gone into my registry and there is no registry keys that have {d27....etc}. There are many other numbers and most have a compatibilty flag of 0x00000400. So I must not have a "kill-bit" for Flash Player set. Not sure what that means.
Can you help me? And have I given you enough info?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

FYI - have uninstalled adobe flash player since we last replied should I try to install again?
I have checked this too and
*Shockwave Flash Object installed and Enabled. version 11.5.7.
    * Yes at medium now (was at med high)
    * have mcafee but just installed tonight your recommended microsoft security essentals (did a quick scan tonight)
    * C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash - FlashInstall (txt file) and Install (txt file)
    * No error messages - was told it was installed successfully
    thanks!

  • ADOBE FLASH PLAYER UNINSTALL ISSUE- FEB 2015

    POSTED FEB 2 2015
hello fellow mac users -  I have an adobe flash player question...
I am sure everyone is aware of the adobe flash player vulnerability that came out late January 2015.   Initially when I saw that, I promptly removed flash player on my machine and installed the new version 16.0.0.287.    A day later when I started my machine,  I saw a Flash Player message indicating I have to download again.  I googled and found out Adobe actually only partially fixed the vulnerability.
Exasperated, I decided to say bye-bye to Adobe Flash for good by uninstalling Flash Player.   After uninstalling, I went to Youtube and played a video - it shows that its using HTML5 codec to play the video - so far, so good.
The issue I am having is that since I uninstalled the Flash Player, whenever I start up my machine I am getting this "Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller" pop up window.
The first time I saw it, I clicked on UNINSTALL button and it will say "Adobe Flash Player was removed".   But every day when I start up my machine, it still shows this pop up message and its driving me bonkers.
is there a way to remove or prevent this pop-up from showing up?   BTW I checked my machine's preferences and Adobe Flash Player is no longer listed.
    BTW I have a iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011), Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Thanks for your input in advance.

    RESOLVED - Feb 3 2015
I believe I have found the issue and resolution on that pesky Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller - thought i'd share in case this would help someone.
Since that f***ing  Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller pops up each time I start up the machine, I thought I should check the "startup" items in my Mac machine.  So I did my research and I did the following steps:
    1. Click on Mac > System Preferences
    2. Select Users and Groups
    3. User and Groups window pops up - On the right pane you'll see "Password" and "Login Items" items - click on "Login Items".
On the Login items - I did see 'Adobe Flash Player Installer' - apparently this triggers the Uninstaller instead of Installer - but whatever - I have banned Flash Player from my Mac so I highlight this item on the Login Items list, and click on the minus sign button - it removed the Adobe Flash Player Installer from the Login Items list.    Then I restarted my machine - and voila -  NO MORE PESKY Adobe Flash Player uninstaller pop-ups!!!! Hurrah!!!
Again this might help specifically for those who want to BAN Adobe Flash Player from their machines and are seeing the Adobe Flash Player Installer / Uninstaller every time they start up their machine.  Apparently this is not a widespread problem but it still does happen.  Good luck y'all and say goodbye to Adobe Flash Player (sorry Adobe, but I do still love your core products like Lightroom and Photoshop).  Adobe should not have bought Macromedia (who originally developed Flash and Shockwave) years back but who would have known Flash would be such a headache (no thanks to cybercriminals)...

  • Losing internet connection after Flash Player update.

Recently, I suffered from a Fake Flash Player infection involving the Adobooaan hijacker malware.  I had great difficulty getting rid of it and in the end resorted to using Spyhunter and then hand-deleting the things it came up with.
[Yes, I know Spyhunter is semi-malware itself, eats cpu space and and keeps popping up every half hour demanding payment, but I have it on a leash.  I used AVG PC Tuner to set Spyhunter so it runs only when specifically told to, and then switches off when I've finished with it.]
Using Spyhunter in this way got rid of the Fake Flash Player hijacker when MalwareBytes, Spybot and Adware-Removal-Tool had all failed, but one of the side effects was that I had to re-nstall, or at least partially re-install, the real Flash Player.  Now, I keep losing my internet connection, and it appears to be happening when I get a "The Adobe Flash Player Update Service service entered the stopped state." system event.
The outage affects all browsers, and only access to web pages online.  I can still get emails, and open web-pages which are on my own PC, but I lose access to all online pages.  The only cure for it seems to be to re-boot my router by switching it off for a minute, yet my PC's connection to the router seems to be sound, and my ISP's tech team say the router looks fine from their end.
Spyhunter is a bit over-enthusiastic - it identified a legitimate TextBridge file as a malware of the same name, e.g., so I'm wondering whether in removing the Fake Flash Player infection I've accidentally deleted some legitimate Adobe Flash Player file or cookie, causing Flash Player to switch off my internet connection at the end of every update check.  But if so, how do I fix it?  Is there some way of getting into Flash Player to set options?  It doiesn't seem to have an icon or to appear in the programs list as something you can get at and twiddle with.

Yep, I've got the exact same problem. I'm using a PowerMac G4, running 10.4.5 (I think). I can't say the problem started happening, since I just started using the sleep function (computer generates a lot of heat in my apartment in the summertime!).
But yea, I sleep it using the HW button, and bring it back, and no internet connection. I'm not sure if it's the computer (SW caused) or the ISP (disconnects if the computer doesn't respond to pinging). I am using Comcast cable Internet, which is DHCP me thinks.

  • New Naming Convention for Flash Player Installers

My operating system is Win7 64-bit.
After updating the Flash Players to 10.1.53.64 (for Flash Pro CS5), I noticed the names for the plugin installers have changed from "Install Flash Player 10 ActiveX.exe" and "Install Flash Player 10 Plugin.exe" to:
    "InstallAX.exe" and "InstallPlugin.exe".
Can these new installers also replace the old ones in Flash Catalyst CS5 (as in copy/paste then delete the ones with the old names)?

Since this is not really a standard Flash Player question / issue, perhaps you should ask in the appropriate Flash forum?
