I just got a window suggesting I install Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.94
What is Apple recommending about flash player I seem to recall it wasn't too happy with it, about a year or 2 ago?

Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either. I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish. It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it. It shows up in the "system preference" and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player". It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does. It shows up in the "downloaded files" section of "Finder". I'm getting really perplexed over my inability to get this right.

You cannot download any flash players to the iPad. Best you can do is buy Skyfire Browser from the App Store, which will allow you to view some flash content. There are a couple of other browser apps that do this, too.

Hi I am new at this, I posted a Question a day ago under Flash Player 111 people have looked but no
answer.
I can watch Videos & Animation the only thing that will not work is Adobe download, the screen
freezes every time after telling me it cannot install. It takes a couple of minutes to unfreeze
microsoft askes to send error report but that freezes and anything else I try to do.
After Adobe screen completes it then just drops of the screen, when I go back to
Internet Explorer it asks do I want to go back to session that terminated, if I say yes we go back
freezing again. If I go to home page all works well again. I need the Macromeda Flash Player
for Incredimail, I have been using this programe for many many years only now having this
problem. I have also downloaded the Flash removal program and it worked okay.
Please Adobe there must be a reason.

Here's my advise.
Focus ONLY on Flash Player. Don't think about the other installs because it just causes confusion.
Now, try this and ONLY this and report back:
1. Launch Internet Explorer
2. Go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
3. Tell us what version of Flash Player it says is installed
Do NOT look in control panels for installed programs. Flash Player is a browser plugin/activeX control, it's not an installed application. It only works with your browser. The above test will tel you if it's installed and running correctly.
Also, incredimail is an application that gets installed on your machine. I don't see what it's relationship to Flash Player is.
OK I uninstalled all Flash Players to test this, and incredimail does seem to rely on the presence of most likely the Flash Player activeX control.
Still, do the above test and see what it says.

If the steps in this technote seem daunting then I'd suggest seriously considering taking the machine to a local professional.

Web gallery / Flash Player question

Not sure where to post this, so I'll start here.
In CS3 web gallery, after I create the gallery and it goes to view it, the browser (Safari) open up to a blank page with the following statment / links:
Please upgrade your Flash Player.Already have Flash Player? Click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed.
This is very irritating. I have Flash Player 10 installed. I still get this window each and every time.
I tried FireFox3 and got the same outcome. In fact the only way to get the Web gallery to play is to click the link "click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed", then the web gallery opens. The other link, of course takes me to the Adobe Flash Player upgrade site, but as I said, I already have Flash Player 10 installed.
There must be something in the html code that presents this page first. Does anyone know how to remove / stop this page from opening.

The file "flashobject.js" is a Javascript file that, among other things, detects what version of Flash is on the browser and complains if it doesn't like the current version. The code that actually detects the version looks at the first character to the left of the "." in the version number and decides that that is the version. If you are running version 10 of Flash that code decides you are running version "0" and complains.
You can fix this by going to the function "getFlashVersion()" in the "flashobject.js" file and replacing the following line:
flashversion = y.charAt(y.indexOf('.')-1);
with this line:
flashversion = parseInt( y.substr( y.indexOf('.')-2,2) );
You will have to do this with each copy of the Web Photo Gallery you are using as well as with the copies of "flashobject.js" that are buried in your program files for Photoshop (assuming you use Photoshop to create your Galleries as I do).
WARNING: Use this fix at your own risk. I am not a Flash developer, I just know something about JavaScript. I did test this with a Flash 9 and a Flash 10 player but not as extensively as Adobe would if they released this patch. If it doesn't work for you that is your problem.

Flash Player Question - Re Powerpoint

We've produced a powerpoint presentation that incorporates
lots of flash
within it. we have hit a problem with distributing this
powerpoint via cdrom
in that we need to include the appropriate flash player
installation
program. so that it installs the flash player as well as the
Active X
controls required by Power Point.
We have tried the standard IE FP set-up program. however this
doesn't
install the Active X controls. what version of the player do
we include, or
how do we ensure the active x controls are installed?
Help. this is proving to be much harder then it should be

You can check the version under Apple Menu > System Preferences > Flash Player. Did you quit and restart Safari after the install?

Apple macbook's equal to adobe's flash player is what I require.

Hello folks, hope all is well. I'm trying to find out just what apple does when an adobe flash player is needed to play content on some places? Where & what is the equal player of apple mac to adobe flash? If it hasn't been built yet, isn't it time over due to get up with the times? There are an awful lot of sports and movie picture shows that use the format and I as well as many of my sports buddies find these macs inept without it. yours truly, lbear.

My mouse wheel only brings the page closer up in Flash Player, doesn't make it smaller when using Firefox Browser. I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Player. What do I need to do ? It works fine with IE 8.

My internet is Internet Satelite 1.5 MB. speed. Everything else with the Flash Player seems to work fine except the wheel. But the mouse wheel works fine everywhere else.

So what Flash Player version do you have currently installed?

I just noticed something. The link that I pasted, to your
post, does not work either. I noticed why, however, and it seems to
be why the link in your original page does not work, and why the
link in my post that goes to your post does not work.
It seems to be that if a link has a period after it (i.e., if
it is at the end of a sentence), the period is incorrectly included
in the "real" link. Somehow, whatever mechanism that processes the
post has a mini bug in it.
If you go to the link that is results in "Sorry, this page is
not available", and look up into the browser address bar, you will
see the period there each time.
I just thought that I would point this out, too, so that the
web techs in charge of the workings of the forums could look into
it.

I tried to open facebook in safari browser on my ipad and I keep getting message to update flash player. What should I do.

These last few days I found difficulties to open website on my ipad through safari. It was started when I tried to open facebook. There was a pop up message asking me to update my flash player. As per my understanding there is no flash player installed or used on my ipad. Please help to explain what is happening with my browser and what should I do since I can't use my browser right now. Use the Facebook app instead of trying to open Facebook in Safari.
