Flash player resizes banners/widgets under ie9 32bit

Hi!
Description of the problem: a flash widget on our site is loaded correctly on all major browsers and FP versions, execept on 32bit ie9.
Here, the widget is disfigured (compressed on the x axis) clicking on the widget fixes the problems, and refreshing the page/redirecting on the site reintroduces the problem again
Reproducable: always, from any client with 32bit ie9, or 64bit running in 32bit mode
versions the issue was last tested with:
IE: 9.0.8112.16421
Flash Player: 10.2.152.32
DXdiag output,screenshots, etc are available.
Thank you for the help/tips in advance,
please let us know whether this is a known issue with an upcoming fix/workaround!

• Flash player does not work under one user account.

Flash player does not work under one of my user accounts.
My system: I work with a mac mini with Mac OS X 10.6.8.
What I have done:
I installed the flash player maybe one year ago under my "first" user account. At that time this user account had had administrator authorization. In the meantime I had to change this "first" user account in an account without administrator authorization and created an administrator user with which I installed different programms. Lately, the message came up that it would be necessary to update the flash player. I did it; under the "first" user account, but of course with the administrator's password for installing. The installation had been "successful" - so I was told. But it did not run. I tried it again and again. Each time with "deinstallation" first. No way; it did not work.
After asking Adobe for the reason of the problem, they suggested to install the programm directly under the administrator user. I did that (of course after deinstalling under the "first" user account) with the result, that flash player runs under my administrator and my "second" user account, but not under the first user account. There I am always told to update my flash player.
With this result, I talked to Adobe. So they told me to contact the producer of the operating software, since this would be a mistake of the operating software.
And here I am - full of hope to get help from you.
Thanks for reading. And thanks in advance for helping me.

Any update to provide at all here guys? Again, in my situation, it's very much rights-related as a standard user doesn't even report that the flash player exists when testing it on the Adobe Flash Version Detection website (despite it showing up in Control Panel and under Add/Remove Programs). I've already tried giving the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed and files/subfolders appropriate permissions for the standard user and still nothing. If I either give the user in question full local admin rights or logon as the domain admin, then the Adobe Flash Version Detection website says Flash is installed and Flash works fine.

• Flash Player Crashing on Firefox and IE9

I recently updated my firefox and Flash player to the latest versions and now everytime i want to watch a video or anything that is used with the flash player, the flash player keeps crashing and tells me that i need to update it.. I have already tried uninstalling it and installing it again and it still won't work I don't know if its because i have a bug or what is the prob exactly. It was working on my IE9 before i uninstalled and installed again the latest version, but not on firefox. Now its not working on either. I have the Acer Aspire 5100 32-bit running on Vista Home Premium. If anyone can help, I would SO MUCH appreciate it.

what i did following his instructions, was using firefox, go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ like he mentioned above and your going to see the adobe flash player animation on top of the page. Right click on the animation and click on "settings" and then uncheck the "enable hardware accelaration".. It still won't work on my IE since i have IE9 and its still beta. But it shouls work if you follow the instructions using firefox

• Flash Player 11.2.202.235, IE9 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, HP laptop - objects do not display-seevideo

Flash Player 11.2.202.235, Internet Explorer 9 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, HP laptop - Flash objects do not display properly in browser; right-click Settings window does not display properly either; i have to scroll down and back up to see parts of the Flash object but it disappears anyway when i mouse over.
I took video of the issue and have now linked to it. In the video, I show two browser tabs - one from this site and one from a Bank of America (BoA) site with a flash object. You can see how the BoA flash object disappears when I make that tab active.
Please help!

Thanks for the reply and the link. The driver update did not work because it says I have the latest one installed - even though the driver date is 10/8/2009. It's the Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD, version 8.15.10.1968.
Can you believe that...the latest is from 2009?! I tried to install an updated version anyway - first by going to the Intel site. I found a driver update from Jan 2012 that matches my system, but the install aborts with the error message "A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver."
So, I searched through the HP support site and finally found a link to my computer:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=4121236&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&task=&lang=e n&cc=us
And I downloaded and installed the "same" driver anyway:
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Driver ►
2009-12-04 , Version:8.15.10.1968 B, 29.91M
This package contains the driver for the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD in the supported notebook/laptop models.
But it does not correct the problem.
Maybe this problem is because of an old graphics driver - but this is apparently a dead end for me.
Is there any possibility it is caused by something else?

• Flash player blank in IE9

Flash Player does not work in IE9. This problem appears to have started when I tried the 64-bit version of the player. I have since:
Uninstalled and reinstalled IE9.
Uninstalled Flash Player 10 and 11.
Installed Flash Player 10.
Reset Explorer settings to default.
Open http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ in Internet Explorer 9
Flash video does not play (video area is white).
Version # displays for a fraction of a second before becoming blank.
Right-click on either Flash area opens Flash drop-down menus.
Note: on other sites with Flash content, audio plays properly but video is blank.
Firefox, Chrome and Safari work properly.
I'm using Windows 7 (64 -bit), IE9.0.1 (32-bit) and Flash Player 10.3.181.34 (32-bit)
I suspect the uninstaller missed a file or something similar, but I don't know where to look (I'm primarily a Mac user).
TIA,  Eric

• Get Flash Player to work under Vista

Using Internet Explorer, I am trying to get Flash Player 10 to work under Vista 32 bit. When I go to youtube.com, their greeting says "Hello, you either have JaveScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player." Looking at the 'Programs and features' on the Control Panel, it shows 'Adobe Flash Player 10 activeX' is installed. In the Internet options, the security level is Medium-High. I tried to change this to medium but the sytem keeps reverting to Medium-High and in the scripting area, Active Scripting is set to enable. Can someone please tell me what I need do to get Flash player to work on my system.

Anyone here get an answer yet? Suddenly I'm getting those same messages that I either don't have javascript enabled (I do) or I need to get the latest version of Flash Player. But the latest version isn't for Windows 64. So what am I supposed to do, and what happened to cause this?

• Adobe flash player 10.2 slows down then locks up Internet explorer 9

I have new windows 7, IE9 (which is great), but when new adobe flash player 10.2 installed, slows IE9 a lot and after switching to a few different sites, locks up IE9 completely. This is on all 3 of our computers. Uninstall newest flash player, IE9 runs smooth and fast once again. I have tried all ways, to install player first, then update IE8 to 9, and vice versa, nothing changes the outcome is always the same. I love IE9 because it's so much faster loading than IE8, but this flash player issue is a real headache and can't figure out why. Is there a patch for this? What is the problem? Thanks for your help

Okay, thanks for your advice, which gratefully turned out to be good advice! I downloaded and installed Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 assuming that Adobe Flash Player 10.2.152.32 would replace my previously existing Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 installation in my Mozilla Firefox Web browser. At a similar time that Web browser was updated from version 3.6.13 to version 3.6.14 of it. In Firefox's "Tools" menu's "Add-ons" I could then see "Shockwave Flash 10.2.152.32" and "Shockwave 10.2r152" listed and assume that those are two designations of the same add-on. In 32-bit Windows XP Home Edition I returned my Hewlett Packard notebook computer's S3 Graphics TwisterK HP card's video memory to 16 MegaBytes (MB) via "Start, Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, S3Info Plus" and on the drop-down list box selecting 16 MB instead of 32 MB; after that I clicked on "Apply" and in the successful change clicked on "Yes" to a necessary restart of my computer to effect the change, and may or may not have clicked on one or two "OK"s. I tested the new Flash Player by playing and watching a portion of the movie under "Adobe Flash-Video Test" on the Web page http://www.chemgapedia.de/vsengine/info/en/help/requirements/flash.html. The video and audio signals of the movie there gratefully appeared to be fine, other than the not-surprising waiting periods for data to be received on my computer from the Internet using my slow, but cheap dial-up Internet service. Thanks again for what proved to be good advice for me!

• I finally got Flash Player to work

Please forgive me for starting a new thread but I thought this might be helpful to the various people (using different threads) who've reported installation problems.
I'm running 64-bit Windows7 with the 64-bit version of IE9. After downloading Flash Player version 11.3.300.268 I could not get any videos to play and the Adobe screen that showed the FP version didn't show anything, making it look like it wasn't installed (even though it was based on the Control Panel.) I tried all the Uninstall/Install suggestions people on other threads listed with no luck.
What finally worked for me was "Enabling" the "Shockwave Flash Object" add-on listed under IE9's Tools>Manage Add-Ons menu. I had disabled and, I think, uninstalled Shockwave a few days ago since I was getting constant warnings about questionable content. I don't totally understand the reason for the Shockwave module but since I'm back being able to view videos, I'm not going to care. (I don't see Shockwave in the list of installed programs in the Control Panel.) I would suggest to people to try combinations of downloading Shockwave disabling it under add-ons, uninstalling it, un- then reinstalling FP, and then enabling the add-on, if it's there.
One curious thing I'm seeing - when I open the Windows Control Panel I see "Flash Player (32-bit)" which led me down a number of bad paths, since as I said above, I'm running 64-bit stuff.
Good luck to everybody who can't get this working. I feel for you all because I'spent many hours over the last couple of days trying different combinations of fixes. I'm not much of a techie and I know the above is convoluted, so YMMV.

I tried to use your handy solution-but when I lookin that designated place,there is no Shockwave Flash Object there to enable. HELP!!!!!

• I cannot download adobe flash player to my comuter

This problem has been occurring and reoccurring since November 2012, I receive a message on my desktop stating that I need to update my adobe flash player. I click to do this and am transported to the adobe flash player download site. I click the "download now" tab and receive the download instructions page. When the popup window appears I select "save file" as instructed. I am then transported to the Firefox download list where I double click the flash player install highlighted in blue. The next pop up window asks if I want to "run file". I click "run file" and nothing happens. (alternatively I get a pop up window that asks me to continue if I am the administrator and I click "continue" and nothing happens) The pop up windows previously mentioned list the source of the download as C:/users/"my name"/downloads and when I click "details" it says (sic) C:/users/"my name"/ downloads remove C:/file/users etc. Sometimes I will get a message saying file cannot be found at C:/users etc. Of course not, because the file is in firefox downloads and not in my user download file. Is there a way to fix this? The flash player is not listed under firefox plugins so I cannot disable it or change it. Incidentally, other download files for updates etc are working without issues, I did have to disable the adobe reader plug in so that I can view PDF files on other internet sites. I have Vista sP2 on Dell XPS 420 with Firfox version 18.01

You actually have the most Recent Flash player, so I'm not sure why you are getting a notice. Try to Reset Firefox [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]

• How Can I Get the FULL Installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.63?

When I try the "Download now" button at http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/, I only get a stub installer that then requires downloading the remainder of the installer. I maintain both my own PC and my wife's PC. I want to install Flash Player 11.1.102.63 twice but download it only once.
When I instead try the link for "Flash Player for other browsers" under "Windows 32-bit", I get the full installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.62, not the full installer for Flash Player 11.1.102.63.
The latest version of Adobe Reader is available via FTP at ftp.adobe.com. Why cannot the latest version of Flash Player also be available there?

at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580 the link for downloading "flash player 10", "for other browsers", still results in the OLD version of FP 10 being downloaded, not the newly updated version, build 10.3.183.16..
in adobe's security bulletins, it says that you can download the updated versions of "flash player 10" on the "archives" webpage but there are no direct downloads for FP 10 on the webpage, except for downloading the zipped packages, with the "debuggers".. it would be good if there were direct downloads for the updated versions of FP 10..
also, when i go to the "download center" page, http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=BUIGP , if i go there with "firefox 3.6", it recognizes that i am running "firefox 3.6" and offers to install "flash player 10.3", but if i go there with "internet explorer 6", it is not recognized and so i am not offered "flash player 10.3", for installing.. in this situation, i need some other way to get "flash player 10.3" for "internet explorer 6"..
adobe should make things easier for everyone by providing direct downloads for flash player..in my case, i use "flash player 10", so i need direct downloads for it.. yes, it is nice that the downloads are posted in the forum, but why not do it right and have in on some webpage, like on the "archives" webpage where adobe says that "flash player 10" can be downloaded, except that there are no links there for downloading it..

• How do I set Adobe Flash Player as the default program to open SWF files?

Basic Overview
I have this working fine at my home laptop, however I need this working for projects at school.
Whenever I want to open an SWF file at home, I simply double click it and open it in Adobe Flash Player (Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22) and I have no problems!
However, when I am at school I have to run SWF files within Internet Explorer, Adobe Flash Player IS installed, but the SWF files are not opened in that directly, they are opened within Internet Explorer.
At Home
If I right click an SWF file at home and select "Open With" and then "Choose Default Program...", Adobe Flash Player is already there under the name 'Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22', so I can simply select it as the default. (On my home laptop)
At School
At school if go to "Open With" and then "Choose Default Program...", Adobe Flash Player IS NOT there, only Internet Explorer and some other programs in the other programs box. (On my school laptop)
Question
How can I assign Adobe Flash Player as the default program for opening SWF files (on my school laptop)? If I select "Browse..." and go to C:\WINDOWS\System32\Macromed\Flash there is no file with a description of 'Adobe Flash Player 10.0 r22', is the file for the actual program located somewhere else or have I just no looked properly in the folder?
I really need these files opening in Adobe Flash Player directly and not in Internet Explorer (I know you can set the view to 100% and have it sized correctly)
Thanks you to everyone who helps!
-Charlie! (Yes I know I don't need to write this in a forum)

The standard Flash Player is a browser add-on, and not a standalone player. So what actually opens when you open an SWF file at home? Flash Player Projector?
If so, you also need to download it at your school, from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html, then do the file association.

• Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro?

Is anyone having trouble installing Adobe flash player on a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.7.5?

Thanks for your help here is what I did so far!
I have uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it, I've tried restarting my browser, then my MacBook Pro without any success!
When I click on the Apple in the upper left hand corner and open System Preferences I can see Adobe Flash Player on the bottom under the Other section.
If I open Adobe up and check the version it tells me that I have the most recent version!
I even uninstalled Adobe and installed the newest Beta version, but Adobe is still not working! If I check for the latest version it tells me that I do have the latest beta version, but it still doesn't work!
If the person who made the video used any other video player it works!
Their player, plays the video without a problem!

• Print job becomes massive with Flash Player 10.1 & 10.2?

First off, some info. This is rather old code, written in 2007/2008 with Flex 2 by someone no longer with the company. It has worked just fine for years, but not anymore. The application aggregates pricing data over several years, and shows it in a series of 5 or so charts depending on user options. There is a print button which takes the charts, puts them into a print template, and prints the charts (using the FlexPrintJob function) - or at least that's what it should do.
Here's the lowdown:
Flash Player 10.0.x and lower (down to FP 9.x), it works beautifully.
Flash Player 10.1.x with hardware acceleration off, it works beautifully.
Flash Player 10.1.x with hardware acceleration on, it breaks.
Flash Player 10.2.x under any condition, it breaks.
Now, what I mean by 'breaks' is this: when printing, it spools a 600MB+ file to the printer, gets to ~500MB (roughly the print spool limit), and prints the template with the first chart complete and the rest of the charts missing anywhere from 1/2 to all of the chart area. If a smaller dataset is used, the charts may or may not complete, but the print job is still massive - the lowest I've seen is 350MB. In scenarios where it works beautifully, the print job is 12MB at most.
This slice of the application is part of an application bundle we sell as a service to clients, and forcing a FP downgrade on them is not an option.
Has anyone run into this issue, or know where I might start to fix it? In leui of that, any suggestions for porting a Flex 2 application to a FB4 application?
Thanks for your time, and any help.

The only printing example I could find in the Flex 2 docs is the very simple one here - Flex 2 Developer's Guide > Flex Programming Topics > Printing > Using the FlexPrintJob class > Example: A simple print job
Surprisingly, even with a basic print job, the issue appears - in FP 10.2, the print job is ~13MB, in FP 10.0, the print job is ~2.3MB.
For reference, the code used for the example (from Adobe's docs) is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
import mx.printing.*;
// Create a PrintJob instance.
private function doPrint():void {
var printJob:FlexPrintJob = new FlexPrintJob();
// Start the print job.
if (printJob.start() != true) return;
// Add the object to print. Do not scale it.
printJob.addObject(myDataGrid, FlexPrintJobScaleType.NONE);
// Send the job to the printer.
printJob.send();
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:VBox id="myVBox">
<mx:DataGrid id="myDataGrid" width="300">
<mx:dataProvider>
<mx:Object Product="Flash" Code="1000"/>
<mx:Object Product="Flex" Code="2000"/>
<mx:Object Product="ColdFusion" Code="3000"/>
<mx:Object Product="JRun" Code="4000"/>
</mx:dataProvider>
</mx:DataGrid>
<mx:Button id="myButton" label="Print" click="doPrint();"/>
</mx:VBox>
</mx:Application>
