Flash Player's Setting Manager not visible

When I attempt to access the flash player's settings, the redirect takes me to the Macromedia Settings Manager welcome page.  Unfortunately none of the panels are visible.  However, if I right click upon the space which ought to be a panel, I am presented with a context menu which provides for Zoom In, Zoom Out..., etcetera.  Clicking any one of these selections provide nothing.
As far as I can ascertain, my Flash Player works.  My problem is: I have no opportunity to manage Global Privacy Settings, Website Privacy,....etcetera.  Prior to IE9 and Adobe's latest 10.2...  I did.  Something is amiss.
In IE, tools, manage addons unders "Show", Shockwave Flash Object is Enabled, version: 10,2,159,1 4/28/2011
I have been to the test site many times and have seen  the Flash Player logo (Red F) animation(spinning) each time. The version presented is: 10,2,159.
Further comment regarding my problem was first introduced yesterday here [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/845448?tstart=0]  Eidnolb's two suggestions to explore my problem through Microsoft and Internet Explorer puzzle me because my problem appears to me to be Adobe's problem, not Microsoft's.  Do I really need to spend countless minutes on hold with Microsoft?
My specifics are:
•operating system :
Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1
•web browser and version:
IE9  9.0.8112.16421 update versions: RTM (KB982861) cipher strength: 256-bit
*final note: I have attempted accessing the Settings Manager also with my IE9 64-bit version and strangely have received a visible image in the usual, panel box, space.  It tells me to download Flash Player.

Thanks once again, Eidnolb.  And thank you for your suggestion about the Compatibility View.  I learned something from the link which you provided above.  The most interesting thing was: Microsoft's helpful explanation of Compatibility View (seen there) never explains that a user needs to check and uncheck the feature when he first discovers that perhaps a website function isn't working correctly.  The explanation mentions only something about an icon appearing in a user's address bar.
By luck, I discovered  a user needs to "check" the Compatibility View feature when he suspects incompatibility.  Once that is checked, then the browser reloads the suspect page and IF there is an incompatibility, THEN the icon will appear.  If there is not, then there is no incompatibility.
Lastly, if there is no incompatibility, then a user should "uncheck" the feature and continue on blissfully waiting for Microsoft to screw his mind somewhere else.
Thanks again,
Dave

  • Installers for Flash Player and Acrobat Reader not visible/stuck.

I am running a windows 7 64-bit computer. When I run the installer, no installer window appears. I do however see the process in the task manager, and see that the installers have been moved to my C:/../AppData/Local/Temp folder; however, after that point the process seems to stagnate. How do I fix this? Is there some file that the installer requires? There is no error message for me to troubleshoot this on my own. I've restarted my computer multiple times, have everything else updated, and run the most current version of mozilla firefox. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I would recommend posting this qiery in the Adobe Reader / Adobe Flash Player forum.
    Thanks

  • How can I download Flash Player's setting manager ?

    This:
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04.htm l

I didn't realise that the more I think I know the less I actually do !! Speaking to a friend last night he inspired me to understand the difference between Absolute and Relative addressing i.e. %appdata% which I see elsewhere on the web is known as Symbolic addressing.
I was amazed that Windows Explorer understood %appdata%
I'll take your advice and experiment. I'm now convinced that the domain related files stored in the Flash Cache must have the domain embedded in each file or specific folder for that domain. It's the only way the settings manager would know that it could delete the data for that given domain.
My first journey into the folders last night did not inspire, a very large number of files and folders with very strange naming.
A very long time ago (Commodore 64 ...) I used to have a tool that could read the contents of files looking for text strings (it worked at byte level) perhaps I could find something like that and identify which files belonged to the specific domain ?

  • Flash Player 10.1 is not installed even though message says it was successful.

    Hello,
I use W7 Ultimate, 64 bit, and IE 8. Whenever I try to watch video a message says I  need to upgrade Flash Player and gives me a link to version 10.l
I uninstalled version 10.0.32.18, then downloaded and installed version 10.l. A message says the installation was successful. However, I still get the same message and link whenever I try to watch video. I tried repeatedly with the same results. Each time Update Checker identifies the installed version as 10.0.32.18 even though an Adobe message says the installation of v.10.1 was successful.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi,
I got rid of Update Notifier, and I use Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro but am not a developer.
I honestly thought I was following all your instructions to the letter. I skipped some steps in my last post, but here is everything I really did.
I used the Administrator account, closed all applications, set the Internet security to Medium, put *.adobe.com in Trusted sites and set Internet security to low for it, removed real time protection for my antivirus, used Advanced Settings to disable the firewall, downloaded the Flash Player installer and uninstaller to the Desktop, disconnected the Internet, and closed all browsers.
The uninstaller was then run. Then the installer was run. The computer was booted . It was then rebooted. The insaller was run again. The computer was rebooted. The Internet was connected.
Please look over each step and if I'm skipping something I'll add it before trying again.

Hi gb, I think that you are relying on this Update checker too much. Early on, you confirmed what Flash files were installed. What the Update Checker reports is not correct, sorry. The proof in the pudding is what Flash Player files are Installed.
In Post#2, you had the correct Flash files Installed, regardless of what the Update Checker said. I can't use the Update Checker as the Standard on whether you have Flash Player Installed or not and you shouldn't either. This is getting too confusing.
The only issue you had was the Shockwave Flash Object did not Install and I posted the reasons in Post#6.
There is a procedure to Uninstall Flash Player and to Install Flash Player and it appears that you are relying on other programs to dictate.
Also I have never heard of anyone using the Adobe Update Manager for Flash Player. Perhaps you should read up on it and see if you really need it.
Are you a Developer? My suggestion would be to take a look in Programs and Features via Control Panel and see if all of the Adobe Programs you have Installed are needed. Then check your IE add ons for the same.
My Post# 6 still stands. Until that is corrected, there is nothing more that can be done. That Update Checker, does is have a website? If it is identifying those 2 files as Flash Player files, then I know I wouldn't be using it and you shouldn't either.

  • Adobe flash player and youtube are not working

adobe flash player and youtube are not working

It seems that going to Preferences>Security> Check allow plug ins, then manage sites, and then allowing one site allows all??? Seems like a lot to go through.  I have installed the player 4 times now and just got it figured out!

  • [TECHNOTE ANNOUNCE]  Error installing Flash Player "The download did not pass the integrity check (16236.304.443)

    All,
I've published a new technote for folks who are having trouble with the Adobe Download Manager and Flash Player.
Error installing Flash Player "The download did not pass the integrity check (16236.304.443)
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/512/cpsid_51258.html
Essentially this technote links to the Windows troubleshooting technote here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166
However, before today the Windows troubleshooting technote only had an EXE install for the ActiveX version of Flash Player 10.  I have now added a link to download the EXE version of the Flash Player Plugin installer as well.
Please point other users with integrity check errors to the first technote.

Thank you for the update & Tech Note Announcement. I do have a couple of questions, if you could please respond.
After uninstalling and ready to download; reading from the link you provided on 9/4/09, Should we follow the normal download instructions
per #2. "Flash  Player download Center" and if a successful installation is not accomplished, THEN, go to "download and unzip install_Flash_Player_10_Plugin (all other windows browsers) ? Or should the latter step be done in lieu of #2 mentioned. I am assuming the download from F.P. D.L. Center would be done first and then troubleshoot by running the EXE. version of the F.P. Plugin installer.
Experience has taught me not to assume much, and if you don't know, ask!
Thanks for your hard work, but you have to admit, for the technically deprived, it is frustrating and confusing.

                        4Gb Ram
    OS: 10.9.4
Every time I launch and run the dmg install, it says Retrieving Install but stays at 0% and the application says Not Responding.
I have tried to uninstall Flash player and have checked that :
    Library/Internet Plugins/Flash Player.plugin file is not present;
    the Flash Player install manager is not present;
    Rebooted the Mac; and
    Repaired disk permissions.
But I still cannot get Flash player to install. Can anyone suggest anything else to try?

the newest  version  of  FLASH PLAYER 10.1 would  not  work  on  my  32bit  FIREFOX browser.  so  I  installed  flash  player  on  a  32bit  VERSION of  internet  explorer. it worked fine for a few days till ADOBE asked me if i wanted to update  my  player.      NOW IT DOES NOT WORK  ! ! !      NOW  IT  DOES  THE  SAME  "GREEN  FLASHING  BLANK  SCREEN THING"  THAT  IT  DOES  ON  MY  FIREFOX  BROWSER  ! ! !    WHAT GIVES ? ! ? ! ? !

Hello I have a Dell inspiron 6400 computer with window's home vista and with the latest standard Internet explorer. i was enjoying the fact that i could watch Youtube and other such sites until i was prompt to downlaod the latest version (10.1) flash player. which like anyone else I did, but not the mcfee anti virious as it would be inconflicsion with Norton anti virious.

  • Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player?  I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!!  I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone.  Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Thank you hopefully can give me some info about the status with this or if there wen is one. I would have thought that being a company such as you are that it would already be taking care of right from the beginning and not wait years to take care of somewhat that is very important ro have especially when there is so much our there using Adobe Flash now. I am not sure if this is just a blog with customers or if the company actually sees these posts but I am just hoping company or not that someone knows something about this. Thank you for your time and for reading this entire post if you have even gotten this far.

Oh no... NOT THE 99-PAGER!!! Anything but THAT!!!

  • After updating, install error "Install Flash Player.exe - Entry point not found"

My current version of Flash Player is: 11.1.102.55. Then after an Update is performed and the download is downloaded, then it tries to install the download and an error message occurs. The error message says - Install Flash Player.exe - Entry point not found - then it says The procedure entry point  SetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll.
When I try to uninstall Flash Player I get the same error message above except that it says Uninstall_Flash_Player.exe instead of Install Flash Player.exe.
I'm running WIN2000, my current version of Flash Player is 11.1.102.55 and I’m running Firefox version 12.0.

I believe 10.1.102.64 was the last supported version of Flash Player for Win2k.  That being said, there have been numerous users that have been able to work around the error you are receiving.  Please see this post for details:

Ziatron is correct that Flash does not work on an iPad, but it does work on a Mac. See Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.160.

  • What camera resolution mode is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager

What camera resolution is used by the Flash Player camera settings manager? I am referring to the camera settings that you have to pull up by right-clicking on a Flash Player swf that is running, and from the right-click menu you hit settings...select the camera tab...and then you can hit the little camera icon and will show you the live video feed from the camera.
In order for the live feed to be displayed, Flash Player requests a camera resolution mode to the driver. What mode is being requested?
For example, could it be 160x120 @ 30fps?
    Or is it 176x144 @ 30fps?
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help04.html#117113

I have the same cam as you (it's apretty darn good cam IMHO).
I don't ever see any resolution request when I click the icon.
My cam initializes at 1920X1080, per the logitech specs. The box in the settings is 4:3, but the cam is running at 16:9, in apps like Skype, or FaceTime (Mac).
It shows the same setup screen in WIn XP, Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, which ALL share the same cam on my setup.
Being as the cam feed in the setup is 4:3, I'd have to say the resolution is 160:120  as opposed to 176:144 which would be a 5.3:3 or 16:9.

  • Flash Player 10.2 will not install - not same problem as Audrey below.

    Hi,
Using Win 7 home deluxe, was using Flash player no problem until the office had me uninstall it to fix another problem but now will not reinstall, keeps insisting on installing Mc Afee alongside it and then Mc Afee won't install correctly and won't allow Flash Player to install either.
Have repeatedly uninstalled the full Adobe free software suite, and Mc Afee and started from the beginning have tried using the 32 bit IE instead of thr 64 bit, when the window comes up showing the registration it only shows the Quit button will not let me use the Agree or Install button and again and again it keeps installing Mc Afee without being asked, I don't use or need Mc Afee as have Nortons.   I have also been turning off the norton antivrus while doing the installation as i know that can interfere with it.
been trying this on and off for some days now, multiple times, and I do need to get this fixed I would appreciate some advice thanks
    T

Yes Friend and I posted a message of thanks also which I'm very pleased to send to you personally, the missing link was that little check box you mentioned, I had done the install or tried to many times but never seen that small box so that was the problem.
Very grateful  - thanks very much for your time and patience !!
    Best Regards
