In AS3 you want to use the URLVariables class.  Search Google using "AS3 URLVariables tutorial" and you should find what you need to get going.  Here's one result from that search...

You don't seem to understand. Please read my question. I cannot use anything in FireFox until I accept the demand of the AOL dialog:
    WARNING - BROWSER SETTINGS
Another program (that would be me using Google to restore my original settings) has changed your homepage and search settings( from the unwanted AOL hijack). Would you like to keep (HAH) your previous settings (i.e. the hijack - NO!)
KEEP AOL.COM AND AOL SEARCH (option box)
    ENABLE AOL HOMEPAGE PROTECTION
There are no other options, no opt-out, and I cannot use Firefox until I allow this hijack. IIf I try to click any FireFox function, it just dings - I can't even close the window, have to do it thru Task Manager. I am writing to you thru Chrome now because I cannot use Firefox.

There are instructions on how to use the patch, since it is not a

    Hopefully it'll work.
That depends on what OS X your iBook has.

  • Flash Player Is Not The Problem, so let's fix

I was about to pull my hair out. Everything that I tried did
not seem to work. I even had the technicians of my virus
protection/firewall to help behind the scenes. And then I contacted
Adobe for technical support who ended up directing me to the
support / forums. I continued to read the posted messages along
with the advice that was offered. Nothing seemed to work for me. Of
course, I began to get aggrevated. But, there was one message that
stuck out in my mind. That note informed that Flash Player was not
Compatible with Internet Explorer - even though it referred to some
other issue or problem. This seemed to make sense. So, let me tell
you what worked for me. Again, it is IE that is causing all of the
numerous problems with not being able to download Flash Player,
etc. I am not sure of what has changed with Flash Player now that
may be causing this particular issue, but. . . So, I decided to go
to another web browser - like Netscape because on one occasion, I
was having great difficulty with IE and the technicians downloaded
Netscape. I had no more problems with Netscape, but of course, I
like IE. So, I eventually went back to IE and never thought about
Netscape again, until now. I went to Netscape (with all of the
issues at hand) and decided to see if I could view many of the
cites that were provided in the Forums. Well, much to my surprise,
all of the web pages that required Flash Player seemed to work
automatically - but only in Netscape. I did not even have to
download Flash Player while in Netscape. See if this works for you
and pass it own to everyone if you have success. Some of you may
need to download the Flash Player while in Netscape, but I did not.
Good luck. I am so happy that something FINALLY worked. Maybe it
will work for you too and do not forget to pass it on - if it does
happen to work for you also. 2byoung

This is true. There is a Flash Player for Windows IE and
another Player for Netscape and Firefox browsers.
If you have all ready gone through all of the usual
troubleshooting techniques (listed below) and ONLY have this issue
with IE you may have some issue with your system registry. I would
be happy to help you troubleshoot this.
Check the following troubleshooting steps before moving onto

  • Flash Player Crashes in the middle of games in EVERY browser! HELP!

I have a toshiba laptop. Runs Windows 7 Home Premium. I have had someone remote access saying they fixed the problem and 2 days later I still can not get through my games. Please help! I have gone through and deleted history and browser and flash caches.

Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as" or :Save Link as".
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download the Shockwave UNINSTALLER and BOTH FULL installer files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to download the FULL ActiveX installer.
Run the Shockwave uninstaller, and then run the Full installers.
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.

  • Flash Player 11 Create Projector on Windows

    Hello,
Recently I've tried to create a projector for swf on Windows but noticed the Create Projector option was grayed out. I've tried both the default projector and projector debugger for Flash Player 11.3 on Windows XP, 7 32bit and 7 64bit and with newer swf files using the Molehill API and older ones (compiled for Flash Player 9), but with no luck. On osx everything works fine.
Has anyone managed to export a projector exe with Flash Player 11.3 on Windows ?
If so, how ? Any hints/tips are helpful !
    Thanks,
    George

I know this a bit of an old thread, but this is still very contemporary to
me. I upgraded to Creative Cloud and on my 32 bit computer the Flash
Professional CS6 only loaded (on my 64 bit computer, the Flash
Professional CC loaded). Unfortunately with the Flash Professional CS6 download
came the Flash Player version 11 and the 'create projector' command greyed out.
I uninstalled the Flash Player 11 from the Flash Professional CS6 file and
installed the Flash Player 10.3 onto my computer. Unfortunately I can't seem to
open SWF files with the Flash Player 10.3 because my 'Open With' menu won't
recognize that I have downloaded the Flash Player 10.3 on my computer, even
though the Find Flash Player adobe website acknowledges that the Flash Player
    10.3 is on my computer.
Please please, is there any solution to this?
Yes I know that Flash Pro CC has a command of creating a projector, but most
of my InDesign documents that I built were on my 32 bit computer in InDesign
CS5 and for the sake of simplicity I would like to finish the project on my 32
    bit computer.
I’m at the end of my tether and have wasted a whole day on
    this problem.

  • How can I know if the version of Flash Player installed is the right version for Internet Explorer?

    Hello,
I have Windows 7 Starter with Internet Explorer 8 and Adobe Flash Player 10,1,85,3.
I am experiencing problems with one particular web site which uses Flash technology to operate its web site., which is:
    gadget-detective.moonfruit.com.
It has been suggested to me that I check I have installed the correct Flash Player for the web browser
I am using which is Internet Explorer 8, that in particular I should check I have not installed in error a Flash Player
for "other browsers". I do not know how to check if the version of Flash Player I have installed is the correct one for
Internet Explorer, but, when I go to the Adobe web site at:
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
it states that Flash Player is successfully installed.
Here are the problems I have been encountering with accessing the above-mentioned "gadget-detective" web site,
where I have had to use different URLs to attempt to get access to the technical advice areas on their web site:
1)A Welcome page with a link to the Free Technical Advice page located someway down the centre of the Welcome page,
but still with none of the previous links along the left side:
    http://www.gadget-detective.moonfruit.com/#/free-tech-advice/4515074362
2)A Welcome page with no links at the left side and in particular no link at all to the Free Technical Advice page:
    http://www.gadgetdetective.com/
    3)A completely black page:
    http://gadget-detective.moonfruit.com/#/free-tech-advice/4537230823
How can I be certain that I have the correct version of Flash Player for my web browser Internet Explorer 8?
    Regards.

    Hello  ʇɐb ɹəuəllıʍ ,
Thanks for your reply. I would appreciate it if you could let me know what the Flash Player setting
called "Hardware Acceleration" does, before I try disabling it.
    Regards.

    Hi czigrand,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Currently, you can gift dollar amounts or individual items (EG. songs) on the iTunes Store. See this article for more information:

    Hi,
To change your password you will need to open System Preferences, then open Users & Groups, click on Change Password.  Change your password to a temporary one, then when you have finished you do the same procedure to change it back, by typing in the temp password then leaving the new password blank.  Hope this helps.
