Flash Player says it is downloaded and installed, but is never there.

I have tried to download at least 7 times on my Windows computer.  I have turned off my virus control.  I have reset my system.  I have downloaded from Adobe and by clicking on other websites.  Active-scripting is enabled. Each time it goes through the entire process of initializing, downloading, and installing ... then it is not there and when I check it by trying to use a website that requires it, it tells me I need to download it. It always says that the download is successful. I used to have Flash Player on my computer and don't know how it was removed, but I would really like to get it back!

What is your browser?  If IE:

  • Pages is saying it has been downloaded and installed but it is not on my Mac Book

I have just downloaded Maverick and Pages, keynote and numbers are all saying that a new version has been downloaded and installed but they have changed the software I had already been installed, I know this because my ipad3 has had the new upgrades and the icons have changed.
    Can anybody help me please?

No, the download doesn't change the older Pages 09. The icons on the older pages documents on the Mac changes but not the Pages 09 application. You still have the application in the Application folder.
What you see on the iPad I can only guess. I don't have an iPad.

    Thanks.

I stumbled upon the solution. In addition to downloading Creative Cloud, I needed to go back to the website and  download trials for the programs I want to use--Photoshop and Lightroom. Once I did that, I was in business. Would save trouble if that was made clear on the download site.
    Thanks

  • Flashplayer is downloaded and installed, but I can't open it.

    Hi there,
I have a Macbook pro which is running Mac OS X 10.8.5 (64 bit), and I use the Safari browser. I've downloaded Flash Player 14.0.0.176, and the helper tells me that it has installed, although I can't find an icon or anything else to open it in my 'finder'.
The only thing on my system that differs from the installation help guide, is that in my Safari-preferences option, it just has 'allow plug-ins' (selected) at the bottom of this box, and there is no option for 'allow java' as per your example. I even updated my Java version, and it tells me that this in installed too (version 7, update 67) , although I can't see that in finder either. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing three times now with no success.
    Anna.

    Hello Anna,
Flash Player is not a program that you open by itself, so there is no icon to click to open.  It is a plugin used by the browser to view Flash content.  To determine that Flash Player is correctly installed, you can navigate to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html and click the 'check now' widget on the page.  This will tell you what version you have (14.0.0.176 is the most current version).  There is also an animation towards the bottom of the page that will play if Flash Player is correctly installed on your system.

  • Downloaded and installed but there is no icon or access to audition on my desktop

    hello,
i have downloaded and installed the trial version of Audition. it says i have installed the app and it is up to date. but the icon is not on my desktop. the general Creative Cloud Icon is there that takes me to the "watch tutorials" but i am unable to access the program. no icon on my computer.
please help desperate to complete a project in one day! thanks!!! kate

    If it's a Mac the look in Go>> Applications & if it's Windows then look in C:\Program Files\Adobe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe.
If it is not there that means it wasn't downloaded/installed properly and needs to be installed via Adobe Creative cloud desktop app again.

  • Downloaded and Installed but wont work?? Help

  • Premiere Pro CS5.5 Upgrade is Downloaded and Installed, but 5.0 Isn't Updating

Hi there. I may be missing something very simple here, but here goes: I already have Premiere Pro CS5 on my system, and I just purchased, downloaded and installed the 5.5 upgrade a little while ago, but CS5 isn't upgrading. It's still opening as Version 5.0.3.
It didn't ask me for my serial number at installation, which made me think it found what it was upgrading, and I've tried restarting, but to no avail.
Any help is much appreciated. Am I missing a step?
    Thanks!
    Stephen

    Hi,
Premiere pro CS5 and Premiere Pro CS5.5 are installed as seperate programs.
So Premiere Pro cs5.5 might have installed as a seperate program.
Check the all program list for the same.
If you face issues, just contact adobe technical support.

  • Yosemite requires an update to JRE 8.0. I downloaded and installed but it still gives a message to download an install.

After updating to Yosemite I keep getting prompts to update the Java Run Time Environment to version 8. After downloading and installing the update I am still getting the message as if the JRE is not there. Also, I cannot find it in the Applications Folder.
    Help.

You might try installing the JRE7 version.  JRE8 is the latest version but there seem to be problems.  See the thread at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6618044
The JRE7 install is a manual one (see link in that thread).

Nope.  Doesn't seem to try to open anything.  I have also gone to the executable, right clicked it, and open.  Nothing happens.

  • PB Apps on BBW Downloading and installing But won't open.

I've just bought a Playbook and installed the lates OS. When I went to Blackberry World to install some apps, they seem to download and install fine but then sit in limbo and won't open. This has happened to 3 free apps now.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The apps I installed are the Blackberry Tutorial, The Belgium Zip Code  Lookup and a Soltaire Game.
The apps are visible on the App World screen as installed. But no icon appears anywhere else. Touching the app in the App World menu only provides a description. There is no loss of functionality with the rest of the Playbook.

  • I have flash player version 12.0.0.70 installed but youtube says it is not current

I have adobe flash player 12.0.0.70 installed on my mac but youtube says it is not current

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 6. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or reboot before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 3
If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
If the warning persists, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 4
Open this folder as in Step 3:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 5
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 6
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 7
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    Step 8
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
