  • My adobe flash player keeps crashing. Why?

I use Mozilla Firefox exclusively as my browser. When I am connected to Facebook and playing their casino games, the Adobe Flash player keeps randomly crashing. When it crashes, it locks up the computer and I have to shut down and reopen the browser. Recently, an information box has been opening up in the upper left corner of the screen called the Adobe Flash Player action box or something like that. The context is filled with lots of computer jargon I don't understand. At the bottom of the box there are 2 options to pick from, either dismiss or continue. Most of the time the screen freezes up before I've had the chance to pick one. After I go to the Windows task manager and shut down the boxes that were open, I get the normal gray "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" screen. The really odd thing is that there is no prompt allowing me to send a crash report to Mozilla. I have uninstalled and completely reinstalled the latest version of Mozilla Firefox. Just in case these might be a problem, I have the following 3 "add-ons" loaded in to the browser: Quick Time Plug-in 7.7.6 7.7.6.0, Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305, and Shockwave for Director 12.1.7.157. As well, in case they might be the problem, I have the following 2 programs installed into my computer are: Adobe Flash Player 16 NPAPI and Adobe Shockwave Player 12.1. FYI: I am running Windows 8.1 64 bit. Hopefully I have given you enough information to make an assessment. If you need anything from me, please let me know. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

  • My flash player keeps crashing on a lot of sites i go to

my flash player keeps crashing on a lot of sites i go to especially ebay and it says adobe flash player crashed click here to reload. this never happened on my xp os but i recently installed win 7 64 bit on my pc but i also did a clean install with a brand new hd so how can i prevent this from happening

Download the following files by right clicking the links and selecting "Save target as" (IE) or "Save Link as"(Firefox).
    Flash Player Uninstaller
    Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Shockwave Player 12 FULL Installer
Save the files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT run anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything, go to the Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLERS to remove all instances of Flash Player and Shockwave.
Run the Shockwave Installer first, then visit http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFull&P2_Plat form=Win32&P3_Browser_Version=MSIE with Internet Explorer, (there isn't a direct download link - sorry) and install the Shockwave FULL installer for IE.
Next, run the Flash Player ActiveX installer, and then the Flash Player (other browsers) Installer.
Lastly, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

Give it a clean install: How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X
Just trashing and reinstalling some of the files DOESN'T cut it.
Also make sure your Shockwave plug-in is up to date: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/otherversions/

  • Flash Player Constantly Crashing w/ FireFox?!

I've been having a problem playing media on my computer.  Online, instead of playing the music or video (like on youtube or something), it would freeze up firefox for a few minutes then say that my flash player has crashed.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, even installing an older version, but nothing works.  The strangest part is, I can't even play music or video files that are saved on my computer!  I'm thinking it's connected, though I have no idea why.  Please, if anyone knows how to fix this, I'd really appreciate the help.

I have had the same problem for some time. Not only with Firefox, but with Internet Explorer (7 and 8) and Google Chrome. I am running a Windows 7 Home edition (version 6.1 build 7600) 64 bit O/S, and have read through multiple forums where the web browser is being criticised (unfairly?), and have tried all solutions offered there and here. I have uninstalled and re-installed the adobe flash/shockwave flash at least a dozen times, I have disabled all add-ons to try to isolate if this was a problem, and the flash player wouldnt work at all, but as soon as I enabled the Adobe Actve X the problem began again, so it is not another add-on causing the issue. I have disabled the hardware acceleration. Still a problem.
I am running version 10,1,102,64 of Adobe Flash Player
    Firefox version 3.6.12
    Internet Explorer version 8.0.7600.16385
    Google Chrome version 7.0.517.41
I use Windows updater so I am assuming that all Service packs, drivers etc are up to date.
    I use Avast Antivirus
Any help to solve this ongoing very frustrating problem would be much appreciated. It used to be that after un-installing and re-installing Flash it worked for a few weeks before constantly crashing, this last time it is crashing immediately, hence I am posting here.

  • Adobe Flash player keeps crashing, but it's up to date on my computer. So is Firefox. Help?

For some reason, starting today, every page I visit on Firefox (no matter what) comes up with a notification that the Adobe Flash Player plugin has crashed. It started when I was trying to attach a word document to an email to one of my professors on my Google-supported school email account. Every time I tried to attach the document, Flash Player crashed and it wouldn't upload. I finally had to send it using my Live email, which worked, but now Flash Player crashes on every webpage I visit in about 2 seconds. My Flash Player is up to date, as is my version of Firefox. What's going on here? (Note: None of the information of the "Adobe Flash Player has crashed" page was helpful at all.)

Yes, this has been a problem for a lot of people. ADOBE just released Flash Player 11.0.1.152, and that seems to have fixed the problem. It still am finding it a bit laggy to load Flash scripts, but it no longer displays the crashed window.
You can download the file from the official Flash website here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Flash Player 13 crashes with Mac OS X 10.6.8

Any version of Flash Player 13 crashes on activation.
Installing FP 12 as suggested allows Flash Player to work, but FF 28 plugin check complains "Out of Date" plugin. Update.
How serious is the security issue of running this older version of Flash Player?
(How serious is tricking the Java Installer to ignore the >OS 10.7.2 restriction?)
    Thanks.

Adobe is aware of this problem. Unfortunately, in order to make both Firefox and Safari happy, you probably do have to use Firefox 12. This thread has more info and links:

  • Flash Player 9 Crashes Without An Error Message

    Hello,
Since I downloaded the latest update of Flash Player 9
(december 2007?), my problems started. Flash Player 9 crashes (IE7)
without an error message at sites like:
    Zoo Tycoon.com
    My own site
    And many more.
To give you guys as much information as possible about the
    problem:
    - The first site shouldn't give a warning, and it didn't,
till I downloaded the update of Flash Player 9. It now looks like
    this >
    Screen
    - The second site is my own site, which should look like this
    >
    Screen
(Screen is made at an older PC, which hasn't got the update of FP9
    installed!)
    - It now looks like this>
    Screen
(Screen is made at my current PC, Windows XP with the update
    installed.)
    - I also can't upload pictures at some sites, because they
    require Flash >
    Screen
    - Adobe says I've succesfully installed the latest version of
    Flash Player, version 9.0.115.0 >
    Screen
    My system is:
    - Microsoft Windows XP
    - Home Edition
    - Version 2002
    - Service Pack 2
    - Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
    - Clock Rate 3.01GHz, 1.50GB
    - Internet Explorer 7
I'm now forced to use an older machine, Windows 2000, to
update my site and view other sites, because that PC doesn't have
the Flash Player update installed. ;)
Things I tried to solve the problem:
    - Uninstall and reinstall
    - Read and tried all the Troubleshooters at this site
    - Adobe's uninstall program
    - SubInACL
    - Installed an older version of Flash Player (7 & 8)
    - Regedit
    - Manually renamed the files in the SYSTEM32/Macromed/Flash
folder (like explained on the forum)
Could someone please help me? I'm probably not the only one
    dealing with this problem...
    Regards,
    Sophie
P.S.: I'm Dutch, so please don't mind my English....
    :)

Is there no-one who knows the answer? And nobody who has the
    same problem? :(

  • Adobe Flash Player Update crash

"Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem ..."
I'm trying to answer this question, but don't know how to do it. So I'm starting new discussion.
I’ve had this problem for over a month and have reinstalled adobe flash player multiple times.
But now, I think I finally have the answer.
My tech downloaded the adobe flash player “installer” today.
But I think the key is to
    1) start / run,
    2) enter “services.msc,
    3) go to adobe flash player update services
    4) right click to get to properties
    5) change startup type to ‘Automatic” and service status to “Stopped”.

I stumbled upon something that worked although I don't know why the two items are related. I was resetting FireFox in another attempt to get the latest Flash player to work and noticed that my Java Console was disabled. I don't remember ever disabling it but I turned it back on and suddenly, the Flash player stopped crashing.
Maybe this will help someone else.

  • What are the distinctions between Adobe Flash Player & Shockwave Player & Shockwave Flash?

I find references to what seem to be three distinct things:
    Adobe Flash Player
    Shockwave Player
    Shockwave Flash
Treatment of these things is interwoven and confusing:.
As an example, the Adobe Shockwave Player page at URL:  http://www.adobe.com/products/shockwaveplayer/  provides a link to a page to test whether Shockwave Player is installed.   That test, however, is the test to see whether Adobe Flash Player ins installed.
On my Mac running OS X 10.6.4 Firefox 8.0.1 has a Plug-In named Shockwave Flash 11.0.1.152.
Are these things indeed distinct?  Is it likely that both (or all three) are needed on the same computer?  The Adobe web site should clearly define the relationships at a high level of visibility.

Basically, the Flash player is just that: you can watch videos, but you can't interact with them.
To give it its full name, Shockwave For Director is primarily used for things like games, or demos where the user can interact with the animation.
The current version of the Shockwave (For Director) player is 11.6.3.633 while the current Flash player is 11.1.102.55

  • Flash Player 10 crashing. simple language please.

Hi I know you have answered this a million times but i dont understand all the tech language so here goes. my flash player 10 crashes when i play zynga games. I run a 32 bit, Internet Explorer 8 can u help?

Hi, you'll need to post back your operating system of Windows. Do you use any other browsers? If so which and what version?
Go to this test site and what version of Flash Player is indicated and can you see the animation?
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
What Anti-Virus program do you use and version if you have it. Does it have a Firewall and if not do you use any Firewall other than Windows Firewall?
    Thanks,
