Flash player still stuttering, high cpu

Hi everyone.
I've been having this problem with Flash for a while now, came with Flash player update that I sadly can't remember anymore. Anyway, the problem is, whenever I start to watch video from the internet using flash player (Youtube, for example), it runs smoothly a minute or so, and then the image starts stuttering badly while sound is coming out normally. If I pause the video for minute (or let it play, it seems it doesn't matter), I can watch the video smoothly for another minute, before it starts stuttering again.
The videos are fully loaded so that shouldn't be the case.
I'm running an Acer laptop, Travelmate 5530G (AMD Turion 2,0Ghz dual-core, 4GB memory, Ati Mobility Radeon HD 3470). The problem started when I was using Windows Vista, and it carried on to upgraded Windows 7 (clean install though).
Now I think I have done almost everything to try to fix the problem. The stuttering starts whether I'm using Firefox, IE or Chrome. I've reinstalled Flash numerous times to numerous previous versions, and the problem is still there. And most recently I switched from Vista to 7, and still no improvement.
I'm starting to get really annoyed with the problem. If there's anyone with ideas for solution, I would really be grateful!

Ok, solved the problem myself by downloading Flash 10.2 Beta, which comes with GPU acceleration.

  • Flash player in Chrome high CPU usage

    Laptop Specs:
    Windows 7  64-bit
    Lenovo Thinkpad T410
    Intel Core i5 CPU  m 520 @2.4 GHz
    8.00 GB RAM
This started happening a couple months back (September ish). My laptop run perfectly fine with game play, watching HD movies, running photoshop, etc. It's only when I start up Google Chrome that the CPU usage would spike. It remains under 80% though. With normal internet surfing my CPU usage will teader around 30-40%. When I watch videos via chrome, that's when I have problems. For example, when I watch a "Walking Dead" episode from AMC.com, my CPU usage will spike to 90-100%. After a minute or two my computer will do a hard shut down, as if I pulled the battery out. I'm guessing it is because my CPU is being overworked and over heated. I thought this problem was only with Chrome but when I pulled up the video with internet explorer the same thing happened. I've cleaned my CPU & fan and bought a laptop cooling fan, no help. I've disabled the multiple flash plugins on chrome, no help. I've updated chrome and flash, no help. What should I do? I've read online that this is a common issue. Has there been a solution yet?

    Same problem here:
         - x86 Family 15 Model 6 Stepping 5 GenuineIntel ~3000 Mhz.
         - Intel 82945G Express Chipset Family/128MB
         - 4gb RAM
         - Windows XP
The problem is obvious on pages with Flash ads, YouTube (auto resolution), etc. I have the same problem with IE 8; I am guessing, it is not related to the browser.
Ordinary pages with Flash ads keep the CPU at 15%, at least, when not visible; when visible it oscillates from 15% to 90%.
In YouTube the CPU goes to 80% when the video is visible and decreases to 20% when not visible, but it spikes to 30%.
My other, I7, computer has no problem.
Adobe, I hope you will come with a solution. An algorithm should not rely on computer's power.

I've tried, with my hi-configuration pc, last beta flash

    AMP!,

I am using a very fast computer: Phenom quad-core 2.6GHz with an NVidia GeForce 8800GT. I notice a number of issues with flash 10 performance on this platform. For one, it's barely fast enough to play the Youtube HD video windows and not fast enough to play anything but traditional low def youtube FullScreen. The player doesn't thread at all so it relies soley on the clock speed of the machine. And as another poster said, the hardware acceleration box doesn't really seem to do anything.
To some degree HD video is going to be a CPU hog...but this performance is far worse than what flash gets on the same machine on windows. That is the first issue. The second issue is that the player really needs to be threaded. Sure, some systems have the power to decode high res x264 with a single core. But there is no point...it's like lifting heavy things with one finger just to show how strong you are. Linux supports threads and the vast majority of machines have multiple cores, so use them! To release a player with such an obvious deficiency is simply lazy programming and design.

  • Help please, Flash Player still won't work

I posted a question a few weeks ago but have received no answers and I still can't find a solution to my problem, it is driving me crazy as there are so many sites that rely on Flash Player and I can find no way round it.
My question is as follows: I am able to uninstall and install Flash Player 'successfully' but as soon as I need to use it I am informed that Flash Player is not installed and advised to install it (again), but this doesn't help. I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE 9 (although this is not a 64-bit version) and have been able to run Flash Player until recently. It has now stopped working though. I have tried the entire list of options on how to start it running you provide at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_7__Disable_Fl ash_Player_hardware_acceleration and at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#mai n-pars_heading_6, but all without success. The only thing I was unable to do was disable Flash Player hardware acceleration as right clicking on the box did not provide me with a "settings" option.
Please help me as I have hit a brick wall and can find no other suggestions on how to fix this problem. I have hunted in every forum and all the suggestions are the same and I have tried them all over and over without success. What else can be causing this problem? Whenever I install I am told the installation is successful but then told I need to download Flash Player again whenever I came to use it.
Flash player is enabled, Active X Filtering is disabled, all Flash Player browsing data is deleted, Flash Player cache is removed plus I have tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing works. The only thing of note is that on the pages referred to above and a number of others where boxes are supposed to display the version of Flash Player installed or an error message, for me the boxes appear to be simply grey boxes. Please help

Still have this problem and still had no response. Can no one help me !?!

  • Flash player still not working after following all discussion advice

Requested information:  I have Internet explorer 9/ using 32 bit on 64 bit computer/windows 7/flash player 10.2 version
I contracted what my husband called a "rider" virus when I opened a knitting pattern of all things and if I understood it correctly was one of the anti-malware viruses talked about.  My husband was able to remove the virus but like others have said here, my flash player will not work.  My computer is only 3 months old!
Here is what we have done:
1: First removed all flash player and shock wave
2: I have run a full scan with my Mcafee program, then ran a full scan and quick scan too with my malwarebytes program.  Everything in both is now clean.  I then rebooted (I also even tried doing all of this in safe mode too with nothing changing)
3: came online and read a bazillion threads about others problems and tried every suggestion pretty much including those below
4:  husband checked the kill bit (d27 thingy) and it was not there
5: reinstalled flash player and shock after running the scans and though they show up in my programs when I looked at the add ons as suggest to others the
neither shockwave or Flash Object was there
    6: uninstalled everything again
So now I am back to where I started with nothing installed because I still have an issue and we don't know what it is.  I truly appreciate your help in any way as it is frustrating that none of the other suggestions have helped.
this may not as my grandma used to say have anything to do with the price of rice in china, but we do keep getting a short freeze up on the computer followed by a message that the display driver stopped responding and recovered then it works again, but it does happen fairly frequently and this has been since the virus.  I am showing everything is clean though with regards to virus scans and malware spyware scans.

Just when I thought I would finally find the answer you sent a message offline, which didn't help me a bit.
I have the same problem.  My wife got a virus and I was able to uninstall it by poking around.  After killing the virus IE would not run.  I found some messages on the internet which enabled me to solve that problem by making some registry changes.  However, I still have not been able to get IE to run flash.  I do have it running in FireFox.
What was the step that you sent in private email that enabled him top solve the problem?
    Thanks

  • What versions of Flash Player Still Receive Security Fixes?

    Greetings,
I'm seeking a page that lists the supported vs. unsupported versions of Flash Player. That is, what versions are still eligible to recieve security fixes (regardless of OS).
    Thanks!
    Edit update:
To be more clear and reword things: I'd like to find the annoucement pages for each unsupported version of Flash Player, that is, links to office Adobe content showing when certain versions entered an unsupported state.
    Thanks again!

As far as I know, we don't have an official page that lists when a version stops receiving security fixes.  I suspect we'll do a blog post when this occurs and I'll also update in our announcement forum which you can find here:
Is there a way to be automatically notified when a new Flash Runtime release is made?
The announcement forum also lets you know when security udpates are made, and where to find both the 11.x and 10.3 updates.

  • I have tried it all and Flash Player Still not working.  Can You Help?

    I have a 64 Bit Operating System
    Windows 8.1
Updated newest Flash Player 03/02/2015 ( updated about 20 times thru the last 2 months)//auto installed with Windows 8.
    Internet Explorer Browser 11
I check to see if Flash Player is installed and it says it is.
When attempting to test,  I get the following message:
Either Flash Player is disabled or ActiveX Filter is ON.
Please follow troubleshooting steps to play Flash content.
I have gone through instructions to enable the flash player and disable the Active X filter.  I have done both.  It still tells me the flash player is disabled and when I attempt to play things on Facebook, it will not run.
What the heck do I do next?

First, confirm that ActiveX Filtering is configured to allow Flash content:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968
Internet Explorer 11 introduces a number of changes both to how the browser identifies itself to remote web servers, and to how it processes JavaScript intended to target behaviors specific to Internet Explorer. Unfortunately, this means that content on some sites will be broken until the content provider changes their site to conform to the new development approach required by modern versions of IE.
You can try to work around these issues by using Compatibility View:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
If that is too inconvenient, using Google Chrome may be a preferable alternative.

  • Flash Player still not working

I have Windows 7 (32-bit) Vista Home Premium, IE 9, Flash Player 11.1.102.63.
I have tried everything I've read in the forum and the suggestions I received from my previous post on March 23.  I've installed and uninstalled Flash Player update about 25 times, turned off my Firewalls, checked to make sure Active X Filtering isn't checked, made sure Shock Wave Player was enabled in Manage Add-ons, updated my Java Files, updated my Driver, did a Clean Install and videos still will not play on any website.  All I get is either a blank white screen or a black screen that says loading but nothing happens.  If I right click it says "movie not loaded".  If I go to the "About Flash Player" page, where its supposed to show the version of Flash Player installed or show an error message, there is nothing.  If I go to the Flash Player help page, it doesn't show Flash Player installed, it shows nothing.  How can this be if, after installing Flash Player, it says download was successful.  I'm ready to pull my hair out at this point.

Most movies are streamed these days, so when you downloaded the page to your own machine, you terminated the streaming link.
To post a link, right click the URL (the web address) and choose "Copy" from the menu. Then come here, right click anywhere in the blank message box and choose "Paste".
If you want to download a movie to your own machine, then you'll need to install Firefox together with an add-on which can be used to download the file. You can download Firefox from here: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/fx/
After you install it, go to this page in the Add-on site and click the link which says "Add to Firefox": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/download-youtube/?src=userprofile
After Firefox restarts, you can go to any site which streams Flash video and still download it to your own machine. For example, in the screenshot, you see a video on Youtube. If you click the button called "Download" shown by the red arrow, you can download the video to your own machine. The "Download" button is added to Firefox by the Add-on.
Internet Explorer doesn't permit add-ons of this nature to be installed and therefore, you cannot download a movie which is being streamed to your own machine like you can with Firefox.

If they started stuttering two days ago and you updated today... what makes you think it's a problem with the update?
I'm not being a smart aleck, but the problem started before the update, so it's most liekly something else.
You may need to hard cycle your modem and/or router.
You may want to try resetting Firefox. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems
My Mini has been running  the 13 beta, and I have no problems with videos. I did... about a month ago , but a Firefox reset cured a number of ills.

  • Followed troubleshooting, Flash Player still disabled!

Greetings, let start by saying that I've followed the FAQ and troubleshooting, according to which I've enabled the Flash Player at my Internet Explorer's Internet Options tab AND disabled Activex Filtering (both of which were already that way to begin with), yet the issue still persists. I cannot see the animation of the tree or clouds and the website tells me that while the flash player was pre-installed with IE, it is still disabled!
I've tried a variety of ways to fix this issue, mainly reinstalling and uninstalling a lot, browsed through google, and I really don't know what else I can do.
My flash player seems to be disabled no matter what.
    What should I do now?

This is not a common Win8 complaint.  It's specific to your machine.
My working theory is that at some point during your troubleshooting effort, you damaged the Flash Player installed with IE.  I've done this to myself multiple times when testing (I'm usually manually unlocking, removing and replacing files in the OS), but I don't have anything on the machine that I care about, so I just re-image it when it gets into a wonky state.  I'm wondering if running the uninstaller intended for Win7 will cause this, but I haven't had a chance to try it out.
Because there's not a standalone installer for Windows 8+ and Internet Explorer, the option of just uninstalling and re-installing Flash Player isn't going to work out.  You might be able to uninstall and re-install the IE feature entirely, but I haven't attempted that maneuver yet.  Install or uninstall Internet Explorer - Windows Help - This guide talks about disabling IE11, but I'm not sure if cycling this will result in a pristine IE installation.
I'm hopping on a plane in a couple hours back to home, which is where my Win8 machine is, and I'll try it out over the weekend to see if I can reproduce your problem.  If that doesn't work, I'll be on the Microsoft campus next week.  I can talk to the IE team on Tuesday to see if they have any additional recommendations.

Your right Ortho_Fan; dust is a stealthly destroyer of computer equipment and it is always good to do physical routine maintenance. I wouldn't blame techies, I myself am a programmer . I think it is more a problem coming from the marketing department. I've programmed in Flash and adored using it (made pretty good money too). I was very disappointed when Apple started attacking Flash and Adobe (especially since it was Abode's products that kept Apple alive in the early years). But, this year, it seems like somebody in Adobe is intentionally sabotaging Flash.
A lot of people use the internet to view videos (cute cats, training seminars and so much more). I am so disappointed; it has become such a chore to keep watching both the video and my computers temperature and every few seconds (or minutes at the most), pausing it so my computer won't overheat and shutdown. They keep coming out with crash causing releases and blame it on everyone else. They really need to own up to these problems and fix them.
I can't imagine why any company would allow outside developers affect their software in a way that damages users computers. It's suicide and I think it will hasten the downfall of Flash. So sad .

  • Flash Player still not loading! Help!!

Hi.  My Adobe Flash Player is not loading. I've upgraded it and each time I do, I still get "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player". I've not been able to watch any videos or play games for almost 1 week now. I'm using IE9/Win. 7.  I recently got an iPad and had to download Safari. Could this be the culprit? No one else I know has had this same problem w/Safari. Thanks.

My problem was downloading the flash player. It just would not load.  I'm using IE9 and Win 7 32-bit. It took a week, but it's working now. Thanks.
