Flash Player Streaming Windows Vista

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to
stream audio and video content.
My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no
streaming content will play at all. Simple Flash animations work,
but nothing that accesses the Flash Media Server for content. I've
uninstalled and reinstalled multiple versions of the Flash Player
on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also tried the new
"Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32"
folder and ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed
all of the available updates through "Windows Update".
I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com
and they don't play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or
know what I need to do to fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in
the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.

WHY do you need an older version?
I have 13 on my Vista Ultimate 64 bit machine. It works fine.

  • Installing the adobe flash player in windows vista home premium service pack 1

    Hi,
I have been having some problems downloading this for over a year now even when I reinstall or reboot my pc or whatever, even change the security settings so I need your help. I found the support center which said:
http://http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html#Download but then I dont even know how to locate the flash folder, where is that? How do I find it?
then do I have to highlight 10a before right clicking it? otherwise where do I right click exactly? when you say to run the flash player installer, do you mean to just click it? Cause I did and it came on but then even after downloading or installing the uninstaller and running it then installing again, it wont work even when I do that and then reboot my pc...Is there any possibility that it cant work on my pc? How would I know?
See...Im no tech expert so I really need your help. Please reply asap. Thanks a lotttt!!!

Hi, well I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. We'll see what the problem may be. First to answer your question,
the OS means operating system. Which if you are using Windows, then your OS is Vista. It could be XP or the newest one
which is Windows7, Win7 for short. Now if someone is using a Mac, then that would be their OS.
Now your computer and all computers can install and run Flash Player. However there are a few things that can cause a problem, so I'll list a few.
The first thing and most important is that you must be the Administrator of your computer. If this is your computer and you set up the accounts, the first account set up would be the Administrator account. You can look at that as the "Boss"
Now some people will set up accounts for other people but they are not Administrator accounts, they are called User or Limited accounts. They cannot be "Boss":-) There are some other things, but I'm stating it this way, so you can better understand.
When you Install programs, like Flash Player, you have to use the Administrator account to do so.
Don't think you are the only one having problems. We'll find out what it is and fix it.
Since using the Administrator account is the most important, I want you to go down to where the clock it. With your mouse, right click over the time that is showing. Then when the small window opens, left click on Adjust Date/Time.
Then post back and tell me what you saw.
    Thanks,

  • Installing Flash Player with Windows Vista Home Premium

I'm trying to install Flash Player on an older system running Windows Vista Home Premium. Do I need an older version of Flash Player?

Actually, unlike Adobe Reader, Flash Player is officially supported on Vista: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/tech-specs.html

  • I am having trouble downloading flash player on windows vista, can anyone help

I've tried everything installed, uninstalled, restarted, downloaded, enabled, prompt, changed adminstrator.I need help

Hi, ok that's good. Since you don't have any Anti-Virus program installed, you need to go ahead and Install the AVG, just
follow the instructions. Then be sure to Restart your computer.
Download the Uninstaller for Flash Player here and SAVE it to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for IE:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
Download and SAVE to your Desktop the Installer for Firefox:
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
    Before you begin:
Using IE, go to Tools, Internet Options and under the Security Tab make sure it is set to Medium for the Internet Zone.
Disconnect from the Internet, check the system tray and make sure to disable any applications that use Flash. Refer to the Uninstaller instructions.
You should have an AVG icon in your system tray. Open the user interface & double click on the Resident Shield and UN tick the "option Resident Shield active", and SAVE the changes. Next find the LinkScanner, double click on it and UN tick the "Enable AVG Search-Shield" and the "Enable Active Surf-Shield" SAVE the Changes.
Don't connect back to the Internet until that step is listed.
Now Run the Uninstaller from your Desktop, when finished, Restart your computer. Then Restart again (to clear old files)
Now Run the Installer for IE and when finished, Restart your computer Once.
Then Run the Installer for FF and when finished, Restart your computer Once.
Now Re-Enable the AVG steps you took to Disable.
Now you will connect back to the Internet.
Then go here to the test site:http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
You can check your websites. Post back when you are all finished.
If you have any questions before or after, just post.
    Thanks,

  • I amhaving trouble with flash player on my vista. The extension is oxe instead of exe.

Hi. I download adobe flash player on my vista windows. I need it for games I like to play. However, I keep getting the message the adobe flash player "install/uninstall is not working".  I have to uninstall it if I want to go into yahoo, google or any  other website. Then my computer works fine.  But if I want to go into any of my games I have to reinstall it.

Same here, just updated to Flash Player 16.0.0.287 after reading about security warnings, and it is now crashing constantly on any web pages that have flash embedded, which are numerous.  I'll either have to disable the plugin or attempt to find a download for the prior version and take my chances on security.  I know Adobe rushes these updates out due to security concerns, but better testing should be done.

  • I am trying to download Adobe Flash Player onto a Vista Oper. system.  What version do I use?

I am attempting to download Adobe Flash Player onto a Vista Operating system, which version do I use?

Use the latest 32-bit version (11.2.202.235).
The 64-bit version is not officially supported on Vista; however, if you have Vista 64-bit, you may try if you succeed installing and running the 64-bit version of Flash Player.  You can download the installer(s) from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#ins tall_in_a_firewall_proxy_server_environment

  • I need to know how to run Flash Player in a Vista 32-bit browser running on a 64-bit O.S.

Help please !  I have been reading for days, trying everything to find the answer to my dilemma, which BTW is making it impossible to use our new computer now. Every other minute it seems I get the message that I need to run Flash Player in a VISTA 32-bit browser which is actually running on a 64-bit operating system.  Do I have to uninstall a program (what and where is it) and then instal something else (from where etc.)?
Give me back our XP!  I get the idea that Adobe keeps SAYING they are developing a platform for Adobe Flash to run on a 64-bit, but I fear that is only a stall. Who is responsible for helping neophytes?  No matter how many times I have tried to contact Adobe, it is a joke.  One time, even though I do not have a subscription for service, the poor man took pity on me.  But his Indian accent was so severe I have ZERO idea what he was saying.  Can one of you wonderful, erudite, helpful people out there give me the solution in computer language 101?? I will be forever grateful.  I wish our computer "guru" had been smart enough to give us the pros and cons when he suggested Vista and 64..... When I am asked for a serial number even I have no earthly idea how to get that either.  I feel completely HELPLESS  and SLEEPLESS in Tucson.   Thanks SOOOO much to whomever can get me going in the right direction. (Forgive my LONG message.  I had to vent.  I feel better.) CLOWG

    Hi Clowg,
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.  Unfortunately, I don't believe the folks here on this forum will be able to help you with your issue.  Have you tried posting on the Flash Player forum?

  • How to upgrade Flash Player in Windows 8.1 Pro

I have windows 8.1 pro with IE 11 and the news video won't be able to play online. The error message is "Sorry, Clip not found...Media not found". It gives only an option to click 'OK' and the screen stays black. I am sure the video is OK, because I can run it on Windows 7.
I contacted Microsoft Support and they suggested I upgrade my flash player. My flash player version is 13.0.0.206 and the lasts is 13.0.0.214. I tried to upgrade and it says "Flash player is integrated in Windows 8" and no option to install it.
I also tried uninstall Flash player with Uninstall Flash Player tool but it did not uninstall Flash even though the message said 'uninstalled successfully'.
In brief, how do I correct 'Sorry, clip not found. Media not found' when I play online video? This is a news video, not movie or youtube and how do I upgrade Flash on Windows 8.1 with IE 11.
    Thank You.

    Hi Texan,
Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x systems and you can only update Flash Player for IE by updating Internet Explorer.  Microsoft releases Internet Explorer updates whenever there is a Flash Player update (usually monthly).  To update your version of Internet Explorer go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Windows Update > Check for Updates.  Since you don't have the latest version of Flash Player, it should find the 'Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 8.1 (KB2957151)' released May 13, 2014.  Alternatively, the URL for this specific download is http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2957151.
If you also have other non-IE browsers, you can install/update Flash Player by going to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer using the non-IE browser and the page will present you with the appropriate version for the OS and browser.

  • Cannot run adobe flash player on windows 8.1 pro with IE 11

this is very frustrating and I have research multiple Q&A on this forum with no resolution.
When I try to run adobe flash player I get the error:
Either Flash Player is disabled or ActiveX Filter is ON.
Please follow trouble shooting steps to play Flash content.
I have gone through the steps to attempt to resolve this as indicated on the adobe site and it is not resolved
    Enable Flash Player
    Disable ActiveX Filtering
Update Internet Explorer to get latest version of Flash Player
    I have removed and re-added IE 11.
I have been trying to research this for days and have hit a dead end.
    Any recommendations?

    @paula1228,
I'm sorry you're encountering issues with Flash Player on Windows 8.1 with Internet Explorer 11.  There is a new Flash Player update available today.  The new update should be available from the link at the bottom of the Flash Player Issues | Windows 8 page.  You can also run Windows Update from the Control Panel to obtain the latest update (KB2974008).  If the latest update doesn't display, install all available updates and then check for updates again.
    @NerdyWasabi,
Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x.  Users cannot install Flash Player for Internet Explorer on their own.  They must install the Internet Explorer Update for Flash Player to update Flash Player on Windows 8.x

  • Flash player in windows 8.1 always says to upgrade to latest to play games on facebook. When i try it says i have the latest

I have a Toshiba satellite L75D-A7283 laptop and for 9+ months I have had the same problem, green screen on video's and when trying to play facebook games it says I need the latest player. I have to restart not just IE but my entire computer in order for flash player to work and sometimes that doesn't work. When I try to update to the lastest flash player it says I already have it. When I go to test the flash player it says either flash player is disabled or active x filter is on which is neither true. It also says that E.I. is the latest also. This is frustrating and want it fixed so what is my next step ?

    Hello,
Beginning in Windows 8, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer.  In order to update Flash Player, you must install the Internet Explorer for Flash Player updates, via Windows Updates.  Depending on what updates are installed, Windows does require a system restart.
    These pages provide more information:
