This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
Firefox (from Mozilla)
Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

However, when I try visit the Adobe site to test whether the Flash
Player is working or not (using IE), I am informed I need to

Says Adobe Flash Player 11 successfully installed but it is NOT!

Hi, I tried to install the Adobe Flash Player 11. It says each time (tried many times) it was successfully installed but it was not. Actually it gets to 50% then stops and sometimes ask me to close Internet Explorer sometimes does not and then when I close it, it runs fast to 100% saying successfully installled. When I check in my control panel it gives me only 6MB installed but should be 16.3MB. But actually is not installed at all.
My OS is windows 7.
Please help, I need AFP ASAP. Thank you

Here's what I recommend:
Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one (or both) of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Because IE asks if you want to "Run" or "Save", choose "Save".
Reboot...
Then perform a "clean install"
Afterward, make sure Flash Player is enabled for Internet Explorer

i have a toshiba laptop with internet explorer 6 and its an
xp machine
basically some websites that need flash redirect me to the
adobe flash player site and i click install and it installs.
then an animation plays when its successfully installed
but then when i go back to the website that requires
flash...flash doesnt work!

Well, first of all you might want to get IE7. Just go to
filehippo.com. In any case, go to start>control
panel>internet options. Go to the security tab and set the
internet zone to default>apply. Then go to the privacy tab and
click on sites. Make sure the website is allowed to set cookies.
Then set the cookie slider to medium or medium-high. This internet
options screen is different for IE6 and IE7, so your buttons may
vary slightly from mine since I have IE7. Really, IE7 is better in
my opinion and your favorites will carry over.

ITunes successfully installed, but cannot locate iTunes anywhere.

Please help. Tried uninstalling and re-installing all Apple-related applications several times. Also deleted all folders prior to reinstalling. After running iTunesSetup, it says iTunes is successfully installed, but there is no tick box to open iTunes after installation. Also, there are no error messages and I can't locate iTunes anywhere. Flash Player 10 installed but not woking

I have spent hours and hours trying to solve this issue on my own from all the adobe forums and forums on other websites about this issue. Still can't get FP to work and I need it working ASAP for my on-line college classes. Getting very desperate and would be incredibly grateful for a solution if anyone can help.
Note: Just before writing this I uninstalled FP active X via control panel and rebooted. The files are still in macromed as listed here, but I have uninstalled FP for a(NOTHER) fresh start.
Here's are the notes I have so far after seeing/trying help on other posts...
Flash player was working now every time I need to use FP it tells me to install but it is already installed.
Program does not show under Start, All Programs but it does show in the Control Panel uninstall list.
I don’t remember exactly when FP stopped working, but I’m not sure I’ve been doing much recently that would have required it, so may be longer than I think. Probably relatively recently though.
I have searched and searched for answers in the forums so I’ve tried several things people suggested, still not working.
Wondering if the problem is this….the ActiveX control is not showing in Manage Add-ons even though I clicked to install it when installing FP.

I just installed FP again, did not get the video showing on Adobe site that it was successful even though the download said it was.
Uninstalled using Adobe uninstaller, then tried install once more with the same result.

Don’t see any relevant add-ons in Firefox. BTW, I don’t usually use FF and only downloaded it again because I’d read that FP was working for some people in FF when it wasn’t in IE. So, if we don’t get FF working with FP I’m good with that.
No NPSWF files in the Flash folder for me to right click.
Can't give you any version numbers.

Flash Player 9 installed but missing

I've just downloaded Flash Player 9 for PowerPC and installed
it on my G5 Quad running OSX 10.4.6. However, when I play Flash
content Flash Player 7 launches. Also, I can't find the player
anywhere on my system - Spotlight doesn't 'see' it anywhere. I've
reinstalled it twice, but with no success. Where does the player
install to, and why can't I find or launch it?

Similar problem -- but using IE7RC1 - no swf files would
play. Finally used the uninstaller for Version 9, found on Adobe
site, and all worked fine. Apparently Flash Player version 9 has
some issues with Microsoft (or is it the other way around) that
causes it to not work. If you go back to previous version of Flash
Player (the swf file I was trying to play was using version 7
something) you just may find that all is now well. I've posted on
the Microsoft IE7 site same findings since a lot of other people
out there seem to be having the same problem with Flash Player.

I have tried over and over again, installing, uninstalling the Newest Edition of Adobe Flash Player. Even though the icon shows up in my programs listing saying its in the computer and that the installation was complete, I still get these small windows showing up stating I need to install the latest flash player when I want to view certain videos. I have a Compaq Presario F700 32 bit computer with Internet Explorer 9 as defaullt browser. I have been having issues getting the flash Player to work....it keeps coming up that I need to download the Flash player when I try to view a video online,like off the weather channel or You tube. It IS in my program list when I open up Programs. sometimes videos come up, other times not. I have been having issues with my computer after updating a PC cleaner ARO2012, but this download is taken out now, Also when I put a recent update on the Weather channel, the computer froze up, otherwise it was doing pretty well yesterday. It seems like I have a problem with updates from companies, I noticed it twice that the computer froze up soon after.
Also I removed recent downloads thinking that was the problem but the issue still remains. I have done everything that Adobe had instructed in regard to trying to fix this. Even my Microsoft Fix it comes up with errors and I cannot run it. I am beginning to think that my computer is just old(over 5 years) and the downloads are being affected by my hard disc drive not working properly. I did a disc check and one time it stated I had a corrupted Disc C. But then on Startup repair it claimed to have deleted or fixed the problem. I get blue and black screens popping up on my computer often, saying that the program had to close to protect the computer. So I don’t know...I did everything possible. when I go onto the Adobe website.....that little screen they ask you if anything shows up on it to determine if Adobe is installed? the problem started when I install the last version of spotify, it didn't work on my Mac, so I look on the internet and I found the problem was because I didn't have the last version of Flash Player. I started the installation but it stopped in 25%, I'd tried so many times that I decided to uninstall the program and reinstall it. But still the same....

I have the same problem. I captured the traffic, and it looks like the problem is with the request the installer makes. It is going to the URLs http://23.218.158.246/dlm/fp.gif?type=install&pane=&os=mac&exitcode=-1&app_ver=16.0.0.287& failed_action_name=&site=live&… and http://23.218.158.246/dlm/ltr.gif?type=install&pane=&os=mac&exitcode=-1&app_ver=5.5&accept ed=N&failed_action_name=&site=…. When I try to retrieve those URLs manually, I get the following message back:
Invalid URL

Why is there no simple offline installer that people can download and use, instead of this complex and fragile system? I get that the update checker needs an online source, but an offline source is a required alternative.
