Flash Player systematically fails to install on my Windows 7/64 system
After uninstalling Flash Player and Google Chrome from my Windows 7/64 desktop (due to some inconsistent performance) and setting Internet Explorer (ver. 10) as my default browser, Flash Player will not install again. At every installation attempts the following appears: "Note: Newer version already installed" (which is not true); and, when I click "FINISH", a window opens with "Adobe Flash Player did not install successfully". Can anyone, please, help?.

What does your Control Panel / Programs & Features say is installed?

Flash Player download fails to install at c:\WINDOWS\system32\macromed\flas
Up until a few months ago flashplayer worked perfectly fine! Now, it seems like every site I go to asks me to download it. Everything goes fine when I click on download and a box pops up to "install". When I click on install, it starts install and stops every time on "registering: c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash10b.ocx"
At this point I get the error message that tells me to go to adobe support and I have followed all of their instructions including uninstalling, downloading some SubInAcl thingy and another zip file and all that, I've reset my security settings, etc. etc. I've emailed microsoft and adobe and haven't gotten anywhere with that. Tonight I tried what the lady did with pasting that file onto my desktop and that didn't help me. I also tried going into IE via safe mode and that didn't help.
Anyone else have a suggestion???

Quark Interactive Designer and Flash Player 9 failing to install

Hi All
I've had the support techs at Quark on this for over a month and so far nothing we've tried has worked. I upgraded my version of Quark Xpress to 7 and was looking forward to trying out the new Interactive Designer but it keeps on hanging at "Items remaining to be installed: 3903" with the blue and white straw rolling along the bottom.
We tried changing my Hard disk name – I had full points in it. Tried disconnecting the external hard drive. Tried installing as a root user. They even gave me a link to install the latest updated version of Quark and new installation keys – Xpress installs but Interactive Designer won't.
Today I tried to install Flash Player 9 and I had the same problem with that, so I'm wondering if it is a problem with some crucial missing system file???
Does anyone out there have any clues please?

What you have going there is some corruption on part of your hard disk that keeps track of where files are. When the logic on your computer loses track of files you can begin to see nastiness occur as you are seeing now.
At this point you may wish to have Apple do the following, but if you're up for it here's what to do...
There is a utility called "Disk Warrior" that has some success in repairing this kind of problem. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Now, I should mention that this corruption can be caused by the actual hard drive itself going bad. A hardware failure. That's not always the case but it is possible. The older the drive the more likely. Over two or three years the chance goes up, but they can go bad after a week, although that is rare.
The wise thing to do is to back up your data as best you can onto some other media. Do that first!
If you elect to skip the Disk Warrior approach then once your data is backed up you need to format your hard drive by doing an "erase and install" when you are booted off your Apple system DVD disk. This will erase your drive! Everything gone! But it will also repair your file system. When it's finished your computer will be in a state such as when you pulled it out of the box sent from Apple. Once that is done then run Disk Utility two or three times until it goes from start to finish without encountering any problems. If it still has problems then the drive is probably bad and should be replaced.
After that you will have to configure your Mac as you want it. Then install your after-market applications, Flash, etc. Then finely restore all of your data files from your backup you did in step one. Quark and Flash should now install correctly.
This is a big job if you have a lot of applications on there, but the cost is only time providing you have somewhere to put your files. If you have another Mac you may be able to do a Firewire Mac to Mac file transfer, "Target disk mode" is the term for that.
Sorry for the bad news but that's what you are looking at. Just be sure to back up your data before you start. I don't know your level but if you need help then write back and ask for it. -
Flash player .msi fails to install, multiple entries in add remove programs cant be deleted
we are seeing installation failures when using the .msi installatoin file. We see an error 2753. The file 'InstallAX.exe' is not marked for installation. Also, we shoe multiple entries in Add/Remove Programs for Flash Player, but they cannot be removed from add/remove programs.
We have tried the Flash Uninstall program, but it will not remove them either.
We have tried installing using the .exe and it installs, but still leaves the old "ghost" entries in add/remove programs.
Any help in cleaning up this up and allowing us to use the .msi would be greatly appreciated.

Tried to install Flash Player. Failed to initialize (XP)
I uninstalled my old Flash Player and tried to install latest from Down loads. Get error msg: "Installation encountered errors. Failed to initialize." I changed Security setting to Medium, did everything in the Troubleshoot page instructions. Still get same error message. Now I have no Flash Player at all.

Flash Player 11 won't install, XP
Hi, Since being prompted to update Flash Player, I now cannot install it ( FP11) . Windows XP Home edition SP3. Pentium 4. No problems with earlier versions and updates, but now I have no Flash Player at all. Error message is 'Flash Player ActiveX control could not be registered', and installation stops.
I am logged in as an administrator, have tried safe mode as Administrator, have even downloaded SubInACL.msi and run reset_fp10.cmd in the hope it (SubInACL) would run on Home Edition. It didn't.
I've switched off the Windows firewall, enabled the scripting etc. in IE 8, as suggested in another thread
I've tried all the FP downloads suggested in your help, saved and run directly. All come up with the same error message and the installation stops. Hope you can help. Thank you.Well.... Today was Eureka day. I finally got past the Active x failing to register by downloading Microsoft Download manager and then the .msi version of the FP 11 installer. It will bring you to download the full active X version afterwhat you can download the normal latest flash player version and it will register correctly.

Latest flash player installation fails in IE8/Win XP
I have been trying to install the latest version of the Flash Player on my XP system for two days. Here's my system info:
Win = 32-bit Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Browser = Internet Explorer Version 8.0.6001.18702
Flash Player - the one I was using (recent but not a beta) was uninstalled when I tried to install your latest version at your site in the usual way. After a couple of attempts to install, I downloaded and ran the player uninstaller according the instructions found on your site - Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.1 r53 - just to make sure I was doing a clean install. I also downloaded the latest version and ran it manually.
All attempts to install have failed. I've seen two different installers, BTW, and they both reported failure but a reason and suggested your troubleshooting page.
I went to the troubleshooting page, where I tried everything, by the book.
Most recent attempts produced the following message when attempting to install from your site:

I went to that page, again without success. There are no Flash active x components listed in my browser objects.
I was able to install the latest version of Shockwave player (I tried, just to see if that would fail, but that was successful.)
I should add that I do some web work using Flash 8, so that is also on my system, but I have never run into a problem installing a newer Flash Player until now. (And I have been using Flash since before Macromedia, when it was called FutureSplash.)
Obviously, HELP!This one nearly did me in. Countless uninstalls/installs, headstands, etc. later, I finally found a solution that worked for me:

A damaged Windows system registry or incorrect registry permissions settings may prevent you from installing Flash Player.
Symptoms may include:
During installation, you see the error message "Failed to install. For Troubleshooting please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166."
Your Flash Player installation finishes with no error, but you cannot view Flash content in Internet Explorer.
Some sites tell you that you do not have the correct version of Flash Player, even though you have installed the latest version.
Some sites tell you to reinstall Flash Player, but after you do so, you see the same message.
Permissions can be tricky, but in most cases, you can install and use Adobe Flash Player if you are logged into a Windows Administrator account. If you don't know how to do this, check with your system administrator, or read your Windows documentation.
System administrators
If you are a system administrator, see Registry permissions required for Flash Player install or update (TechNote tn_19148).
Solution
Warning! By following the directions below, you will modify the Windows System Registry. A mistake could cause serious system damage, which may require you to reinstall your operating system.
If you are not comfortable editing the registry, get help from your system administrator or another IT professional.
If you choose to proceed, first back up your entire hard drive, and create a Windows System Restore Point.
Adobe Systems cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from your following these instructions.
Make sure you are logged into a Windows Administrator account. If you are not, you will not be able to use SubInACL.
Download SubInACL from the Microsoft Download Center.
Follow the installation instructions. Make sure you install SubInACL (subinacl.exe) to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools.
Download the reset_fp10.zip file.
Open the fp10.zip file and extract the reset_fp10.cmd file to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\. Note that that both this file and SubInACL (subinacl.exe) must be in this directory.
Double-click reset_fp10.cmd. A command window will open, and SubInACL will run.
Do not use the machine while SubInACL is running.
After SubInACL finishes, you will see a prompt "Press any key to continue".
Install Flash Player from the Flash Player download page.
To confirm that your installation succeeded, visit the About Flash Player page. At the top of the screen, you should see a message that reads "Adobe Flash Player Successfully Installed." -
Flash Installer cannot download. "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed."
Flash Installer cannot download. Finally get the message, "Adobe Flash Player could not be installed." I already uninstalled the old copy, now I have no Flash Player.
My issue was identical.... days of frustrating downloads and initializing but no installation........ UNTIL I chose to not use the default installer and chose 'Save File'. Now I have the latest Flash installed in OS 10.8.5 no problems !!
This time a long download of 16MB arrived in the downloads folder that actually worked.
Prior to this, all downloads were around 1.6MB and there was no .dmg in the package.
I got my download under where it says "Still having problems?"

I have tried downloading from the archives, an older, working version of Flash Player. Works on many sites. But, not all. Could you try clearing your data and cache from the Google Play Store to see if that solves the problem?
On my system I go to: Settings->Applications->Manage Applications->All->Google Play Store, then I click the Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons. -
I installed the latest version of flash player and it said installed successfully and i can use it just fine, but when I checked system requirements it didnt seem to match. it needed 2.33 ghz and I have 2.13ghz. can this cause problems to my computer? i have an intel i3 proccessor, windows 7, internet explorer.

I have some computers with far slower processors, and Flash Player 14 works perfectly well on them too. -
I have installed flash player.
The test site of Adobe says it is correct. When I switch it off and do the test the test says "flash player is switched off, press to switch it on" when I dos so the test says that is corectly installed.
When I open the plug-in screen there is no adobe flash player, but only shockwabe flash player, but switching this one on and off had the above mentioned effect.
I have checked the registry (since I could not find anything about flash player in the program list, software in configuration, nor in program files and found that in the windows/system32/macromed/flash directory are the files flashutil9b.exe and flashutil_10uPlugin.exe and some other files, which gives me the idea that flash player is in effect installed.
Nevertheless a flash file in my website keeps asking for the plugin and tells than that it cannot be found.An example of my website is http://www.vangelder.nl/example
My real website is protected, but the example shows the problem.
I hope you can give the solution.
The big problem is, that since I have these problems (on several computers, working on XP and Vista) I suppose that the visitors on my site wil have the same problem.
I heve been working hours to find out what the problem is, installed different players, used different formats, searched the internet for a solution and I don't want to export this problem to the visitors of my website. -
Flash Player ask me to install the last version many times
Why Flash Player ask me to install last version many times on IE 9, while last version (11.5.502.146) is already intalled on my Windows 7 (Service Pack 1) 64 bits. Even if I do it the message don't stop.
I'd like to see this occur if this is still happening. If you're up for it, send me an email ([email protected]) and we can setup a time to do a desktop sharing session.

Flash Player could not be installed...
For some reason when I try to update my flash player I get an error message after I finish installing it that says Flash player could not be installed because a previous version may still be in use. I have tryed uninstalling flash player but for some reason I still get that error and I am unable to update my flash player to 10.1. The version I have right now is 10.0 something but for some reason I can't uninstall the version I have and install the newest update? Any help, I could really use it. Thanks.
Yes, I have run the uninstaller, but once I run the install for the 10.1 Flash Player, it says that it can't install because I still have a previous version in use.
This is what I have in my Flash folder after I run the uninstall:
