Flash Player update stops installing [times out] at 12% FF8 & FF9.

Can anyone throw some light on this please? It downloads OK, Initialises OK, but always times out at 12% install. Adobe site no help at all. Am trying to update as Plugin says I need to. Have tried about 10 times at least and then updated to FF9 in the hopes this would solve the problem. Running W7 [64 bit] Only one thing I've noticed, I have 2.20GHz whereas Adobe minimum is 2.50GHz. There appears no answer from Adobe if you are below their specs.?
My desktop has upgraded OK with 2.50GHz. But if you can't upgrade what do you do?
Hope someone somewhere can help please!!

Thanks for the feedback. Providing Flash Player free of charge is a tremendously expensive undertaking, and the bundled offers are an important cost-recovery mechanism. That said, under normal circumstances, you should have seen an option to opt out of the bundled offer.
I've included a screenshot of the expected UI below. We've heard from some users that running third-party plug-ins like Ghostery interfere with the correct execution of the software on the page, which results in the UI for this middle column not being displayed.
If you're not using something like Ghostery or AdBlock Pro, and you were not presented with this dialog, I'd be more than happy to investigate the issue further and try to get it resolved. So I download the dmg, i double click the install adobe flash player button, I allow "open", I put in my password, and it starts installing but always freezes at 25%. Please Help!

This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer, OR
Download the stand-alone installer posted at the bottom of the http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-mac.html in the ‘Still having problems’ section.
If the behaviour reproduces, please clear the browser's cache and try downloading again.

Trying to install Flash Player 11 and it times out everytime

Why is Flash Player install timing out at 7% every time I try to install it? I have even tried getting it from mirror sites and it still times out at 7% on the install panel.

Help Please with Flash Player Updates not installing

Please could someone help? I have recently bought an Asus Laptop with 6 meg Ram & 2.4 Ghz & Windows 7 64 Bit and the vendor (Pc World) installed MS office, Adobe Flash player & full Norton 360 anti virus software for me. The issue I am having is that I am getting a message from Adobe saying an update to Flash player is available & when I click install it then goes to the small message box saying connecting and then it just hangs forever even though my wireless is at full strength & can also already be on the web searching other pages so it is not a internet connection problem.
When I try to download the latest version ( I have 10.3. & trying to download 11.) direct from Adobe it then it starts the download after I click Run and then during initialisation it get to 12% each time & then says connection timed out & this all happens in space of 1 - 2 seconds.
I have gone to Internet options & the Security Tab & have moved the slider to "medium" on both Internet & Trusted Sites Tabs as advised by Adobe site, the Active Scripting is also enabled & ActiveX Filtering is also disabled.
Could Norton be causing the block & if so please can someone help me on how to sort this as Norton support has been useless blaming it all on Adobe?

Click Start, type msconfig.exe, press Enter, click Selective startup, uncheck Load startup items. Click Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, click Disable all, click Ok, click Restart.

OS X Yosemite - latest flash player update stops at 25% or 30%

Flash player version 16.0.0.296
Have been getting notifications to update my flash player, and when I go onto the adobe site I am able to download the latest file and it runs fine, however it always stops on 25% or 30% and won't go any further, I have left it for several hours and then cleared and re downloaded at least 20 times now but it still won't go any further. Does anybody know a way to solve the problem??

Trying to update Adobe Flash Player: 'update' seems to be OUT of date

I've been trying to download updated version of Adobe Flash Player over & over again for over two hours. The only available version reads 'updated April 19, 2013' and does not work - I am still seeing "blocked plug-in" everywhere there should be a video playing. How do I find and download the most up to date version? (If this IS the most up to date version, what is the problem?)

Also if there is any toolbar installed on the browser, try uninstalling it from the browser and check the performance.
If it works then good other wise you can try the following steps:
1. Uninstall Flash Player from Control Panel --> Programs ( Both Active X and Plugin )
2. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player and Sockwave
Flash Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
3. Run the Uninstaller for both of them.
4. Delete the Flash Folder from the following locations:
     C:\Windows\System32\Macromed
     C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
     C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
5. Download Flash Player

There are two different versions of Flash, one version for IE (ActiveX) and another version for all other browsers (Plugin version). You need to install the Plugin version,
1.Download the Flash setup file from here: 
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version]. 
Save it to your Desktop. 
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit 
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed, 
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).

Flash Player update not installing

I have uninstalled the previous version of Flash Player and want to install the latest version. Went to the Adobe site and got the latest version. When trying to install the download, it starts and then stops at 30%. I did this last night and stopped it. Tried it again today and installation stops at 25%. What do you think I am doing wrong. Never had this problem before.

Install Flash Player in Safe Mode.
Shut down the computer.
Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup sound, press and hold the Shift key.
The Shift key should be pressed as soon as possible after startup,but not before the startup sound.
Release the Shift key when you see the Apple logo on the screen. Startup will take longer than usual.
Login to your account. Launch Safari.
Enter this address in the Safari address bar manually.

Follow the prompts. Install it.
Once done, quit Safari and restart the computer from  in the menu bar.

Trouble with Flash Player update download and install

I have not been able to download or install the Flash Player updates for some time now. I have done all the checking and double checking and adjusting multiple times without success. What keeps blocking it is my Antivirus/Firewall (Bitdefender) and no matter what I do it still blocks it as a detected threat. I have tried turning off the firewall. After many attempts with that and failing I then in desperation turned off the antivirus part as well with no improvement. Obviously I have now turned it all back on for protection and have run scans. I am in desperate need of help in getting this resolved as I am now having increasing issues with performance of various things. I will greatly appreciate any help.

Flash Player won't install on my Mac

I'm using Mac OS 10.7.5 Snow Leopard and while installing Flash Player it stops and tells me to quit Dashboard Clinet. I've gone to force quit and have stopped everything on there other than the install program and I keep getting the same thing. Is there a way to stop the Dashboard? When I open it there does not appear to be a button to do so.

I feel your pain and have a solution that should work. I have been battling this for several weeks now, finally gave up, and wrapped up a call with an Apple engineer an hour or so ago. Come to find out, regardless of what the O/S tells you in Activity Monitor about Safari, Dashboard, or both "not" running, these processes are in fact being called. It seems that, at least in my case, on an up-to-date OS X / Safari combo, and with The Weather Channel widget installed, you will never get the newest Adobe Flash Player update to install. As soon as you remove The Weather Channel widget, the Adobe Flash update process will again work normally. It makes absolutly no sense, but I and the Apple engineer were able to reproduce the fix on my two systems and completely reproduce the issue and the fix on his. Not certain where the "blame" for the issue rests, but I suspect this is a issue with The Weather Channel widget - or at least how it is interacting with the O/S and Safari. I suggest checking for any installed/active widgets that grab/stream any soft of content via the web, removing them, and re-running the Flash updater. I hope this helps. I have had the same problem for WEEKS and I cannot access any sites that use Flash. Flash has been installed on this computer since I bought it in 2012. I have allowed auto updates but for weeks the updates never get past Step 2 - is this because I do NOT want the Google Tool bar? I use NO tool bars as there is only 6 inches of vertical screen space. Is this because I uncheck wanting Chrome as a default browser? It is already installed, I just don't use it. I came to this site and ran the check is it installed and the system says it is either not installed or not enabled. Version 14 just downloaded about 30 minutes ago - but did not progress to Step 3 although a pop up screen came up with a finish button, which I clicked. WHAT is the problem and how do I fix it? If this were just a compatibility bug between IE11 and Adobe they have had plenty of time to fix it.

I've never had any problems in the past with installing/downloading Adobe Flash Player updates. Now I am. Why? I know Adobe Flash Player is installed on my computer, I've checked to make sure it is enabled and I have also disabled or unchecked the ActiveX filtering too. If I choose not to install Google Chrome for downloading the newest Flash Player update, does this cause the install/download to not complete and stop at 2 of 3 steps? I believe I have unchecked Google Chrome in the past with no issues, but not sure now. I usually have to go in uninstall Google Chrome because it always seems to mess with my Facebook page. So I no longer want Google Chrome installed on my computer because of this.

Based on your screenshot, I'm guessing the 'Save File' option never becomes available. Is that correct. I also see the file being downloaded has '14' in it, which means this is a version 14 file, which you shouldn't be getting as we're up to version 17. I've forwarded this to the folks who handle the online installer to investigate. In the meantime, you can use the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section. There are several installer types for various browsers. You'll want to update Flash Player for all browsers you use, unless you have Windows 8.x in which case, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE and prevents installation using the Flash Player installer, as updates are performed via updates to IE.
