  • Flash player 11.5 does not open background pictures of my website

Flash player 11.5 does not open background pictures of my website scilang.com as well as many others'. 11.4 is ok.  However, 11.5 has really messed it up.
I tried it with IE9, Chrome, Firefox. No. No with Flash Player 11.5. Why are such things happening all the time?

I can't comment publicly on dates for future releases, sorry.
For users that have selected "Allow Adobe to Install Updates" during installation, they will automatically get the update as soon as it becomes available.  There is some lag in uptake in general (we're really only about halfway into the adoption curve for Flash Player 11.5), so the problem won't be resolved overnight.  If you have access to the source, you may want to update your content temporarily to work around the issue.  If it's just a generic slideshow, you might want to consider replacing it with an AS3-based alternative.  Lightroom distributes a nice flash-based slideshow, for instance.
There are a couple actionscript-based workarounds you can implement in your content until the next Flash Player 11.5 maintenance release has been deployed to the general release audience.
    There's one workaround here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4841531#4841531#4841531
The root of the issue is that the onEnterFrame event isn't getting emitted by MovieClips that embed JPEGs in ActionScript 2 content.  This was an unfortunate side-effect of an unrelated graphics optimization.  We have tests that check that onEnterFrame is emitted, and that JPEGs are rendered, but not one where we confirm that a SWF embedding a JPEG emits an onEnterFrame event.  Because the change was isolated to AS2, we didn't see it in our manual URL testing either, as that testing tends to focus on the most popular sites on the web, which usually host newer AS3-based content.  We've added tests to cover this case to prevent it from breaking again in the future.
Anyway, apologies again for the inconvenience.  Hopefully this information will help you workaround the problem until the next update goes out.

  • Flash Player update install/download stops at 2 of 3

I've never had any problems in the past with installing/downloading Adobe Flash Player updates. Now I am. Why? I know Adobe Flash Player is installed on my computer, I've checked to make sure it is enabled and I have also disabled or unchecked the ActiveX filtering too. If I choose not to install Google Chrome for downloading the newest Flash Player update, does this cause the install/download to not complete and stop at 2 of 3 steps? I believe I have unchecked Google Chrome in the past with no issues, but not sure now. I usually have to go in uninstall Google Chrome because it always seems to mess with my Facebook page. So I no longer want Google Chrome installed on my computer because of this.
The install/download never gets to this point so I can finish the install/download because stops at 2 of 3 steps :
Any advise as to what to do now?

    Hi,
Based on your screenshot, I'm guessing the 'Save File' option never becomes available.  Is that correct.  I also see the file being downloaded has '14' in it, which means this is a version 14 file, which you shouldn't be getting as we're up to version 17.  I've forwarded this to the folks who handle the online installer to investigate. In the meantime, you can use the offline installer posted at the bottom of the Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows page, in the 'Still having problems' section.  There are several installer types for various browsers.  You'll want to update Flash Player for all browsers you use, unless you have Windows 8.x in which case, Microsoft embeds Flash Player in IE and prevents installation using the Flash Player installer, as updates are performed via updates to IE.

  • How do I trigger a Flash Player update?

On Vista machine, when (limited privledges) Visitor loged in, there was an "Adobe Flash Player update available" pop-up.  I do not do any updates as Visitor and so logged out and back in as admin.  But I cannot seem to get that pop-up message.  I have looked at the Global Notifications Settings Panel and Notify me when an update to Adobe Flash Player is available is checked.
There is an update, the settings is set to notify me, but I don't get a notification (I presume that's what the pop-up was/is).
Or does the notification only happen once a day and only for one one account on a PC?

    3 years later...
    In Windows 7,
Start -> type "cmd" into the search box (without the quotes)
Windows should find a program named cmd
Click on it to start command prompt.
A black text window should appear, with a prompt and cursor.
At the prompt you want to run the FlashUtil program with the -update plugin argument but the problem is that
The version number changes with each update, and
Over time, adobe changes where in the file system it stores this file
So, you will probably have to search for a similar program.  Once you find it, replace mine below with the program you found, and the path you found it in.
The following command works today on my system. As you can see i'm currently on version 14.0.0.145 (I will be upgrading to version 16.0.0.235 today.)
    C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil32_14_0_0_145_plugin.exe -update plugin
Running this command (with the right FlashUtil exe file, once you find it) produces the familiar flash update notification window popup, which looks like this (for the v16.0.0.235 update):

  • After installing Flash player updates, Recently Closed Windows in History menu lost

    Hi Friends,
This is just an annoying problem, not really serious, I guess. Whenever I download and install Flash Player updates, History > Recently Closed Tabs, and History > Recently Closed Windows, are wiped out.
This is a problem for me, because when I log on to my computer every morning, I use History > Restore Previous Session, to get back all the tabs I had open the night before. And often also Recently closed Windows, if I had a 2nd and/or 3rd Ff window open last night. After I install Flash Player, the previous session becomes the Adobe update site. I think I can avoid losing the previous session, by making sure I open my previous session before I start the download and installation.
(I don't use fully automatic updates for Flash. I have the system alert me when it's ready, and then the next time I log on to the internet, the download popup window appears. I don't know why it waits until the next time I log on, instead of right after I click ok (and also ok on Spybot S&D and WinPatrol alerts). And I know you can't provide support for that part. But just to let you know all the relevant info :-) .)
So normally, if I've done something to lose my previous session (with all my usual tabs) (usually when I'm in a hurry and don't notice that I've opened Ff without restoring previous session) I can still get that session because it shows up in Recently Closed Windows.
But after I install the Flash update, Recently Closed Windows (and Recently closed Tabs) are both wiped out.
I'm hoping someone can sort this out, and I can just change some setting somewhere, to prevent this. Or maybe like the previous session, and remembering to open it, before I start the dl, it might just be a matter or altering my habits. I can't think of any habit changing that would work though. So that's why I'm asking all you wise Ff users :-) Hopefully it's not a bug?
Thank you very much for any insight, comments or suggestions :-D
    All best.

hello, this problem happens since the adobe installer triggers the opening of a browser window once the update is finished, which then overwrites the last session...
you could try if adding ''SilentAutoUpdateEnable=1'' to the adobe mms.cfg configuration file addresses that issue, as described here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/administration-configure-auto-update-notification.html

  • Adobe flash player update service 11.6r.602 has stopped and was closed

adobe flash player update service 11.6r.602 has stopped and was closed.
i see this pop up at the bottom of the screen (task bar) and it is becoming very annoying.
    Why can't this be stopped.
I have unchecked the service in msconfig.
I have the current version of Flash Player.
I use Google Chrome and Mozilla Fire Fox.
I do not use Internet Explorer---way to slow and junked up.
I do use Maxthon Cloud occasionally.

I suggest that you do a clean install of the latest Flash Player, as described in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315

  • Flash Player update constant checking

After a recent flash player update, my Win event log fills with the following events:
The Adobe Flash Player Update Service service entered the running state.
The Adobe Flash Player Update Service service was successfully sent a start control.
The Adobe Flash Player Update Service service entered the stopped state.
This happens exactly every hour. I set the FP Global Settings to "Never check for updates ..." just to see what happened. No effect. Global Settings reports:
    ActiveX Version: 11.1.102.62
    Plugin-in: 11.2.202.228
Can I get the checks or the reports to stop? Is this normal? Thx.

Yes, this is normal; see http://forums.adobe.com/thread/981567 and especially http://blogs.adobe.com/spohl/2012/03/30/hello-adobe-flash-player-background-updater-window s/
I had originally disabled the automatic background updater (from the Task Scheduler), but re-enabled it, as it takes only a few milliseconds every hour.
You can also change the scheduled task to run only every 24 hours, or in longer intervals.

  • No opt-in for Google Chrome and Chrome Toolbar in Flash Player update???!!!

Who gave you the right to force users to install Chrome and the Chrome Toolbar WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE?  Did it ever occur to you that your customers might have GOOD REASON not to want to install Chrome and the Chrome Toolbar, OR ANY OTHER SOFTWRE YOU FOIST UPON THEM WITHOUT NOTIFICATION IN A FLASH PLAYER UPDATE!!!???  This is the height of arrongance. From this point on I will NEVER trust an Adobe update. And, if I can find it, I'll also use other vendor's software products.  I've been a BIG Adobe fan since I first started using your products in 1988.  NOT ANYMORE!!!  I've read and ignored the ever-growing chorus of Adobe customers who have become disenchanted with your software and your business practices, believeing that this was the ramblings of a minority of your customers.  But after this morning's forced installation of Google Chrome and Google Toolbar I realize that these customers are correct in their assessment of your company.  Consider me one less satisfied customer who will be telling the proverbial 13 people how utterly dissatisfied I am with your business practices.

    Hi Bill,
Unfortunately I don’t have any answers.  My story is exactly the same as yours.  In fact I kept getting Google Chrome d/loaded on to my system and didn’t know how… I’d never sought it.
Yesterday Flash Player wanted to update… and just in the course of installing, I noticed that it was also installing Chrome & Toolbar so I cancelled the installation.
To me it is the height of arrogance that a company can attached to its download something which you do not want and have no choice in having…
The only thing I can think of… and don’t have time today… is to contact Adobe and give them a serve.  However, this may not change things either… could be that they have sold ‘attachment rights’ to Google for Chrome/Toolbar… who would know… they should however give the right to refuse.
Similarly I have a Nokia Windows Phone… the updating/sync software required for this is  “Zune”.  It downloads a whole pile of Apple stuff, “Bonjour, ITunes, Apple Software Support, Apple Updater…(all 280 MB of Apple),  whole host of things which I just don’t want or need on my computer… just bugs the hell out of me.. again, no choice, no check boxes.  I don’t do “Apple”.. I hate the way that they push advertising… “this email sent by my iPhone”… who gives a…. rats?  Don’t get me started… so many things, even down to car purchase and service… they stick their promo stickers all over your vehicle or rego plate… never ask if you want them or not. If I lent/gave objection to everything which bugs me about denigrating ones’ personal choice/privacy… I’d be writing a tome! J
You could try complaining to the communication ombudsman or the body who monitors internet stuff.
    Have a good day.

  • Flash Player update causes radio on-line not to function

I have Windows 8 and use Firefox as browser.  The recent Flash Player update has caused radio on-line not to function. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing Flash but the programme won't install.  It downloads and then sticks,  I've tried about 10 times! I overcame this by re-installing an older version and then my radio on-line works but when Flash automatically updated the programme the same thing occurred and radio no longer worked.  I contacted Know How but they couldn't find out what the problem is either.  Please can you advise me how to fix this.

    Ken,
    Same problem here. I use
    http://www.webaudioplus.com/
as well and started experiencing the same problem after the latest
upgrade. Like you I didn't hear any clicks and pops at various
pitches until after the upgrade and have been making .swf files Web
Audio Plus for about a year.
Interestingly enough, when I play the file directly by
dbl/clicking on it, and just play via the Web Audio Plus media
buttons, the file plays just fine.
And the problem does not seem to be germane only to my PC as
though it was a sound card related issue because the same thing
happens when I play web files I have done in the past on my
assistants PC that were fine but since the latest Flash upgrade now
they have the same issues as my PC when playing the files embedded
    on a web page.
I had not tried restoring (I'm on XPpro) but obviously that
only solves the problem for me. I'm starting to get complaints in
    our Support Desk about this.
I appreciate your post. It's the only one I could find on the
    subject.
I certainly hate to think this is something Macromedia is
going to blame on Web Audio Plus.
If I find anything in my research I'll be sure to post it
    here.

  • Adobe Flash Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are

    I get following message:
Adobe® Flash® Player Update Service 11.3 r300 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    How can I solve this?

    People,
Listen. This service is, has been and seemingly will be: FREE. So while emotions are running on the hot side of the guage, let's remember; it is FREE. Adobe owes no one anything. Now who's to blame, really? We, the people are to blame. Why? Because everyone has been ok with the fact that one company essentially designed and released a technology for streaming from the net. One company. And almost all of us are using this one company's technology to stream; for FREE.
But now we are not ok with it when, after we are prompted to update, we have the issue of it not working? We all never saw the ridiculously high potential for this one company to screw things up, intentionally or otherwise? What the ramifications, that we are now experiencing, might be? Nah, we just took it for granted that we would continue to be served. Well the serve came, everyone. Mistake or otherwise.
It's like this country [US], up until four-years ago. Everyone was either running around with snow shovels and hefty garbage bags to gather all the money they were making or sailing the seas of expectation and an, 'I am out there to get mine' attitude, and then the sh*t hits the fan and now people are complaining? About the very system until four years ago was spoon feeding them poolside with mai-tai's? While it was crushing everyone else in the known world?
No doubt it seems incredulous that a multi-billion dollar company has an IT department that would include in an update, for their own software, that would be inconducive to working. No doubt. But keep in mind: we are all either using browsers by Apple or MS. Anything happens to these browsers, including a virus or anything else that threatens our use of them and...?
So climb off the haughty, 'I deserve' crap and walk on the solid ground of trying to resolve this issue here at Adobe and around the net. If we were to band together, as the 99%, we could solve this, no problem. But then that holds true with resolving this fictitious economic downturn nonsense, that we solidly take for truth at face value, because our mainstream media says so. But no other species on this rock flying through space would know what the f*ck we were talking about.

  • Flash Player Update disables "restore all windows from last session" in Safari on Mac

I am on Mac OS 10.9.5, using safari 7.1.2.  Adobe Flash Player Update loses all safari windows when after update the installer automatically opens safari and just opens flash player website; the "restore all windows from last session" is grayed out in history. The "reopen last closed window" is also grayed out. It has been happening ever since and happened again when I just installed Flash Player ver 16.0.0.257.
For all other normal working situation I can close safari and reopen and see that I can "restore all windows from last session" and there is no problem.  But on flash Player install (set on manual install), the problem is annoying and costs me a lot of time to restore one by one from history.  I do not think this is a Mac or a Safari issue, but will update to Mac Yosemite help if Adobe Flash Player is updated differently in that setup?
    Please help.

Update: I called adobe flash player technical support phone number 1 877-587-1877.  They want $59 (warranty only 6 months) to fix this problem as they use a third party to solve this issue; they themselves provide no support.  Or buy the paid version.  They insist it is my network issue which I absolutely can not believe.
It is adobe Flash player update that forces reopening of safari and wracks the safari losing all windows from last session. That is not my network.  Adobe does not have a proper safari compatible flash player update.
Besides, this is a known problem at Adobe and they are not fixing it and want money to fix it one person at a time!  They also shared that 25% to 30% of the installations have this problem... wow!! and they still will not fix it in a general update!  I wonder if safari has a plug in update that can fix this?

  • How do I install adobe flash player update

I've downloaded  the adobe flash player update. It says thank you, here are some more products I might like, such as photo shop etc. I don't want them.
But I still can't play videos on youtube etc.

First uninstall all previous versions of flash player by using Flash Player Uninstaller then install Adobe Flash Player Software.

  • Running without Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task

I'm trying to understand how to avoid installing Adobe Flash Player Updater Scheduled Task.
I am also unable to remove the Scheduled Task using a script that works on other tasks, on the same workstations.
Is there an mms.cfg setting that will instruct the installer to skip the Task?
    1) Uninstall the Scheduled Task from all workstations in my environment.
    2) Install future updates without the Scheduled Task.
I have already tried mm.cfg with these lines:
    AutoUpdateDisable=1
    SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0
It still runs the update process every hour.
I have explained that it hasn't been causing a problem, but running this many processes on so many computers for no reason is causing some concern.
My organization also does not allow big bang automation included with this product.
Has anyone managed to shut off the Updater process from running?
    Thank you

    Hi Ethan,
try creating an MST file, with Fx, Wise package studio...
Edit the CustomAction “NewCustomAction1” added the parameter “-au 2” to the Command line argument.
you should do that for both:
    install_flash_player_11_active_x.msi
    and
    install_flash_player_11_plugin.msi
If you are using both of them..
Or you can delete the scheduled task with schtask /delete "taskname"

  • Help needed installing Flash Player Update on Mac

I am trying to install a flash player update on Mac - right now the one site I'm trying to use says flash is out of date.   Will not accept my adobe password, reset it through the adobe site and still will not work.  Tried Chat help and agent said to reset password through the Apple screen.  When  I try that it asks for apple id and password but there is only a place for the password.  Any suggestions.

    Hi,
This is the OS (Apple) prompting for the password, not Flash Player, therefore, the password is your Apple password, not Adobe ID password.  Please see What userid & password do I need to install Flash Player?
