Flash player upgrade program deletes itself

Adobe Flash Player 11.7.700.169 upgrade installation problem
Operating system: Windows XP sp3 (32-bit)
Browser: Firefox 20.0.1
Adobe Flash Player ActiveX Version: 11.6.602.171
Adobe Flash Player Plug-in Version: 11.6.602.180
Experienced odd behavior exhibitied by the installation executable while trying to complete a routine upgrade of Flash Player. After clicking on the icon for the installation program, the exe file deletes both itself and its download record, while failing to complete installation. No error message appears. Flash player fails to upgrade.

I've seen another report of the installer throwing a script error, however, I've been unable to reproduce. Can you please do the following to provide a log file for further troubleshooting:
Download the installer from get.adobe.com/flashplayer and save it to the desktop
Launch the command prompt, click the Start orb and in the search field, type: cmd.exe
When the command prompt utility launches, drag the installer from the desktop onto the command prompt window hit space key and type /debug
It should look similar to (the actual file name may differ): C:\Users\labuser\Desktop\install_flashplayer14x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe /debug
Note there IS a space between the file name and the / and there is NO space between / and debug
If there are spaces in the directory path, the command needs to be encapsulated in quotes, for example: "C:\Documents and Settings\labuser\Desktop\install_flashplayer14x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe" /debug
Click Enter to proceed
A file named host.develop.log will be saved to the same location the installer was saved toYou may notice the the online installer file is missing. This is because it deletes itself once executed, so it will no longer be saved locally.
Post the contents of the host.develop.log file here in your response, or share the file following the How to share a document instructions.

and also a green button saying "Get Flash Player"
I get this if using chrome or safari .
I can go direct to YouTube it just works.

The Facebook link to the video is accessing an Adobe Flash video. Unfortunately, no iOS devices can play flash.

Cannot download new adobe flash player upgrade

I just tried to download the newest Adobe Flash Player Upgrade by going to the Adobe website. The Adobe Flash Player Installer appeared in my downloads file. But when I double click it I get a Mac warning window opens that says "Can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store." When I go to the Mac App store and search for Adobe Flash Player, it doesn't exist there. How do I get it or is there another way to be able to watch video on the internet especially from sites like you tube and vimeo, but also sometimes on other sites. Do I have to keep the older version indefinitly and risk not getting security updates?

    Unlock the lock, if you have to.
    Allow apps downloaded from:
    Select “Mac App store and identified developers”.
    Quit System Preferences and try.

AS John says 10.1.102.64 is the latest PPC version, but...
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a later version installed.

I can't install flash player upgrade

I am not the most computer literate person and have tried about 10 times now to install the latest flash player upgrade. It is driving me crazy! I need to go to a website to get a gift certificate for a birthday for tomorrow but I can't access it! What can I do? For the past three weeks, I have been repeatedly instructed 'You must install the new Flash Player upgrade to view this content',
which i had hitherto viewed with no problems at all. I have since repeatedly tried to comply with this order but am repeatedly told
that my Mac 10.4 Power PC system does not support the upgrade. I have tried to install various other 'Adobe recommended'
versions of the Flash Player but none of them work ( having been 'installed successfully' ). Should i simply resign myself to never
again being able to view any videos on Facebook or would Adobe prefer that i install a new operating system which suits their
software upgrade ?

It's not what Adobe would prefer, but what Facebook wants. As regards the latter, Facebook is an advertising funded business from which they make a lot of money. See: Facebook Could Surpass $1 Billion in Revenue This Year
Companies which advertise on Facebook want; in fact demand that the products they want to display in Flash meet their expectations. Since Adobe also makes their money from selling licences for commercial use, they're keen to meet those expectations in order to ensure that businesses don't switch to another technology.
So I'm afraid to say that unless your system meets the Minimum System Requirements to display all those ads, then you're going to be left out in the cold.

Flash Player upgrade/installation error

The Flash Player upgrade has called me all sorts of problems. Received error message every time I tried to download. Removed all versions of Flash Player from my system (XP) and tried to reinstall. Still getting error. I've attached a picture of the error message.

Adobe Flash Player "upgrade" is NOT working/upgrading....

I have : HP laptop, new less than 6 months; Windows 7; IE; and according to my Programs List, I have the 'current version' of Adobe Flash Player installed.......yet, when I try to view a video on youtube, or play a game through Facebook, it shows I need to "upgrade the Flash Player". I have followed the links, all directions step-by-step, to upgrade, install, uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player. I then check the list, it shows I have the most recent version, yet it still doesn't work. VERY FRUSTRATED. Any ideas to what is wrong? Or, is this a current product issue?!? Would appreciate any help!!

UNABLE TO INSTALL FLASH PLAYER UPGRADE

My Operating System is Windows 7 64 bit and I am using Internet Exploeer as my web browser. I currently have and use Adobe Flash Player and the system indicates that I should Upgade it to version 11.7.700.169, and when I try to Upgrade ot this version, I will receive the following message: To help protect your security, Internet Exploeer blocked this Program, I then click on allow this program to install, I then get this message: This program cannot be run in DOS mode. What is going on? I am not using DOS and the DOS Program has been discontinued years ago. What do I need to do in ordert to download this upgrade fro Adobe Flash Player? Thanks.

Download the current 64 bit uninstaller
Uninstaller for 64 bit Operating Systems
Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
Restart Windows
Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
Verify that the file “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl” in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ has been deleted.
The 64 bit Flash Player does not work with Vista 64 bit.
Download the 32 bit installers: Flash Player for Internet Explorer / Flash Player for other browsers
Close all browsers and run the installers.
Google Chrome has an embedded Flash Player, contact Google Chrome for support as you can not change the embbed Flash Player

Flash Player upgrade installation problem - Windows 7 x64 & Firefox

It is impossible to upgrade the Flash Player to version 11.7.700.224 or 11.7.700.169
The antivirus DrWeb detects the installer as a virus (Trojan Downloader) and blocks the download process, but even disabling the antivirus and stopping its services (rebooting included) another problem appear:
The OS Windows 7 x64 rejects the installation saying that there is a program or component required that is not present.
The present version of Flash Player that I have installed is 11.4.r402.265, with this version is not problem for install, uninstall or configure, but Firefox claims that the version needs to be upgraded.
Also a new and strange and disturbing function has appeared.
In the address bar of Firefox at the left has appeared an Adobe icon the request if I want or not to activate Flash for each web page that contain flash elements.
For example: In YouTube each time I open the page is nescessary to reactivate Flash for to allow the video function, if not the video screens reamain in blank.
Many pages that have active contents force to reactivate Flash a lot of times.
For example: The free web storage servers (rapidshare, hotfile, etc) have routines of showing publicity during the login and startup of the upload/download process.
Each time that I need to reactivate Flash the whole page is reset and makes incredibly slow the use of the cloud storage services.

Google Chrome has it own Flash Player built in.
So you cannot uninstall it seperatly, only deactivate it.
And it is not Flash Player v11.2.x at this time.

In Task Manager, I am watching a file called Adobe Installation Helper decreasing in size, is that correct?

Adobe Installation Helper is the online 'shim' installer that downloads and installs Flash Player, and any other 3rd party offer you may have elected to be installed, silently. The file deletes itself after Flash Player is installed.
