  • Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.16 on Win 8.1 64bit ES logs out user at the end of Youtube film

    Dear Players.
My Adobe Flash Player 15.0.0.167 on Win 8.1 64bit ES (Spanish) in IE11 logs out user at the end of Youtube film. In Event viewer there is apparently no error information. I use Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook S6410, where on Windows Vista 32 bit and IE9 with current Flash there was no problem on Youtube films.
I have a feeling that initially after installing Windows 8 and 8.1 the films of Youtube finished correctly showing a mosaic of proposed next films. Now when the film ends, and the mosaic of the proposals should appear, the user is logged out.
I did all the Adobe recommendations, and it does not help. Yet the problem is only with Youtube for the moment. All other Flash content on other pages shows ok.
    Any suggested solution?
    Kind regards
    Marcin Balcerzyk, Seville, Spain.

    Hello,
Microsoft has been changing how they identify IE in the UserAgent string in IE11 (and in more recent versions of IE10). This has been occurring over various releases and it's not new to the latest updates.  As you see, sometimes they identify as Netscape/Mozilla instead of IE.  You can Google 'Microsoft User-agent string' the search will return various MSDN articles on this topic.  Long story short, most websites use OS/browser version in the user-agent string to display content for that particular combination, however, Microsoft wants content developers to use feature detection, not browser detection.  Compatibility view will work because Microsoft will change the user-agent string properties to something prior to the changes they've made.  By doing this, Microsoft leaves it up to the content developer to update their site.  Some have, some have not.

  • Flash Player v10 slow and crashy in Debian/Linux

    Hello!
Is it me or is the latest Flash Player v10 plugin slow in
    IceWeasel/SeaMonkey in 32-bit Debian/Linux? I could CPU usages were
high for Flash too. I have an Athlon 64 X2 dual core CPU with 3 GB
of RAM, EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT (512 MB; NVIDIA drivers), etc.
I had WIndows XP Pro. SP2 and SeaMonkey, and no speed problems with
    Flash v10.
I also noticed having Flash running and looking at settings,
my SeaMonkey Web browser crashes. :(
    Thank you in advance. :)

I've discovered that with lastest alpha x64 native version I've more performance problem vs the wrapper/x86 version (on 64 bit system).
I've removed the native version (installed manually from me) and installed from synaptic the "flashplugin-nonfree" package (x86 version + wrapper), and created mms.cfg on /etc/adobe/mms.cfg with this line:
    OverrideGPUValidation=true
This line can make system unstable (not my system).
If this happen, you can try to add on your firefox link this line before "LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1" without quotes.
    The result is:
    LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGL.so.1 firefox
I hope this info can help Flash Linux community.

  • Flash Player won't download for IE7

Since the update of IE7 of last week, I can't download Adobe
Flash Player. I tried downloading it using Firefox and it downloads
but installs only on Firefox, so I suppose the player is browser
    specific.
I need the player when I go to www.nytimes.com and click on
the video box, which now a days says I need to update the Flash
Player. I click on the button and it takes me to Adobe downloads,
but when I click for download (agree and install), a new page says
I have to allow downloads and instructs me to "Important Message:
You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window
to allow the install." The thing is that there is no yellow ribbon
for the Adobe website, so I can't really allow for the pop-up
(download). I switched off the pop up blocker and still can't get
the player to download. As I said, this all started after that rush
job by Microsoft to update IE last week.
    I run Windows XP, SP3.
What could I be doing wrong?

I am having the same issue -- IE7, XP SP3... Flash Player
will not download or install, but will download and install for
Netscape. Must be an IE7 issue, but I can't find a solution. If you
find something out, it would be freat!

  • Flash Player 10.1 crashes with IE7, IE8 & FF3.6.6

Hello!  First I'd like to say you all are providing excellent information and help here.  I've read some answers and am very impressed with the time you take to help Adobe product users.  Maybe you can help me too! *hopes*
I have read a couple of the threads to see what I need to provide here.  I hope I give all the needed information.  First of all, I sound kind of like the user 'Carol' who uses Farmville/Facebook and updated to Internet Explorer 8, Flash Player 10.1 and there was another program she mentioned.  Anyway, my problem is similar except FP 10.1 crashes while using FF3.6.6, IE7 or IE8.  I have also reverted back to FP 9 (just to test the browsers) with same results - player crashes.  I have not run my SuperAntispyware to see if a virus could be the issue - although I am suspecting it is Not since so many others are experiencing problems with FP also.  My SuperAntispyware virus protection does not protect real time so there is nothing to disable regarding that.  When I'm using IE I do keep Protected Mode On.  If you would like me to try a game session with it Off, I can try that and provide you with the results, however FF has been my browser of choice lately, but now it is failing me too with the FP.
The sites I am having trouble with are Shockwave.com and BigSeagames.com (instead of Facebook & Farmville like Carol is/was having).  There are certain games at Shockwave and BigSeas that crash consistently.  Another player at BigSeas was told to not use IE, and to try FF.  So I did just that.  It worked for awhile, but then FP started crashing as well.  I have searched FF, Microsoft and now Adobe for help with this FP problem.  It consistently keeps crashing.
You can freely go to Firefox browser and type in the ID for my FF crash reports (listed below) - in the FF browser type about:crashes in address bar; on the resulting screen you can paste in the report numbers, if there is time to look at a couple.  I won't include all the reports, unless you specify that you need them.  Today I have had the most crashes - 12 total!  I have always been an IE-girl  (lol) just because I was so use to it.  I don't really care what browser I use as long as it works!
Thanks for any help you can give and I look forward to hearing from someone. ~Mindy

I've had this problem with Flash Player 10.1 crashing constantly in Firefox 3.6.6 since July 4th weekend.  I eventually installed version 3.6.3 and it stopped happening.
Once I installed FF version 3.6.8 this morning, the problem came back.
I tried this solution and it seems to be working so far (keep your fingers crossed!)
    (from: http://www.technogadge.com/how-to-stop-firefox-plugin-container-exe-process/)
    Steps to stop plugin-container.exe process:
    Open Firefox web browser.
Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter key.
A warning will appear. Ignore it and press the "I’ll be careful, I promise!" button.
In the Filter field type dom.ipc. Six preferences will appear for the filter dom.ipc.
Ignore first and last preferences. Toggle (double-click) each of the four remaining preferences to change the value from "true" to "false".
    That’s it. Look the screenshot.
Explanation: The crash protection feature in Firefox  3.6 is enabled for certain plugins only. The four preferences that we  modified here specifies four different out-of-process plugins. They are  the the NPAPI test plugin, Adobe Flash, Apple QuickTime (Windows) and Microsoft Silverlight (Windows).  These plugins are specified in a separate  dom.ipc.plugins.enabled.<filename> preference by default is set to  true. We can disable them by changing their value to false. And thus  plugin-container.exe will not run. By default the preference  dom.ipc.plugins.enabled is already set to "false". So, no need to touch  it. The dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs is also not important here as other  values are false.

  • Cannot download Flash Player v10

My computer says I don't have the latest version of Flash Player.  When I try to download it from the adobe web site, there is a delay, the yellow band with the message to click on the yellow band doesn't come.  Then I'm kicked over to a screen in internet explorer that says there is a problem with the adobe web site with the option of going back there.
I'm using Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8.  I have the same problem when I try to download the latest version of adobe reader.  Could the problem be with my anti-virus settings?

    Try the following:
    download the FP uninstaller from http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html (save to disk);
    download the offline ActiveX istaller http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save to disk);
close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
Regarding Adobe Reader, you can download the English version 9.2 here http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.2/enu/AdbeRdr920_en_US.exe

  • Flash Player uninstalls when I shut down Win 7

I have been having a weird problem with Flash Player partially uninstalling itself  it for months.
I download the Flash Player and install it and all seems fine. The About page says it is installed correctly and I see the animated flash logo spinning.  It works fine for a while then all of a sudden it stops working.  When I go to a site with flash, it says I need to install the latest flash version.
This seemed intermittent, but now I think I have nailed exactly when it happens.  I was in the habit of not always turning off my computer, but now I realize that once I turn it off then back on, then I have the problem with it not being installed.
HOWEVER, when I go to the About page, it says it is intalled correctly, but there is no animated flash logo spinning any more.
    See this screen cap:  http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5049/5375899467_cfded78f47_o.png
As you can see, it says it is installed, but in fact it is NOT. I have to reinstall again.
As I said, this appears to be a solid problem now that I know it happens when I power down then on again.
My system is an ASUS M50vm notebook, running Windows 7 with all the latest patches and fixes installed. It is a 32 bit system, and I am using IE8.
I would really like to figure out why this is happening and how I can fix it - permanently.  Thanks!

Hi, glad you tested. I am just as puzzled by this. I have only seen this on Win7/IE8 so far this week. However, I recall this happening last year but will have to search to find out if it was Win7/IE8. At that time, there did not appear to be any solution. At least it was not tied to the UAC.
This only came to light from a user I was helping on. He/She discovered this and that is part of what I copied and pasted to  you. This lowering of the UAC also allowed 2 users that could not Install that Shockwave Flash Object.
So it is connected to Flash working and not being able to Install that ActiveX Control.
I am working on another thread that just did another Uninstall/Install and cannot get the ActiveX Control, can't remember if it's Win7/IE8 or not at the moment.
I don't think it's Flash Player per se or like you said we'd have many more of these same issues. There may be some other common trigger. I wonder if it is related just to Notebooks and Netbooks. I can do some checking on that. Same Manufacturer?
There must be some common denominator.
Maybe when you have more time, like Monday, etc. , I wonder if the Setting must be the lowest or off to stop this, or a higher Setting? I think there are several Settings.
You said:And given that all my other installed programs do not uninstall after a shutdown, I would have to deduct that this is an Adobe Flash Player related problem.
Yes, but how many programs or websites do you go to that doesn't use Flash ?
I know you don't want to keep this Setting as it is now. To keep the Setting as you had it before, you know you'll have that issue back, so it's a choice between the two. You should have your IE Settings set for ActiveX to prompt, your Anti-Virus on
and just don't allow any Installation of programs from unknown sources. Think of me!! I don't have UAC, LOL I'm just at risk all of the time, LOL Hey, is IE6 a risk?, Ha-Ha
I may have some time tomorrow to do some research on Microsoft, etc and see if this is a known issue with UAC/Win7/IE8.
Vista and IE7 also use the UAC, in fact it started with Vista.
Sorry for long post. I wouldn't want to engage anyone at Adobe without more facts.
Well, I'm glad you found the issue anyway, we 'll keep looking for the WHY.
Thanks for checking, that helps to build our case. Against who, don't know yet, LOL

  • Flash Player Installs but doesn't work WIN 7

It doesn't ever appear to be loaded when I look for it. Why in the world would it say that it has loaded and installed when it doesn't??
Look folks, I'm literally losing my mind here. I'm IRATE.
If you think you've seen this problem before, GUESS AGAIN. I have tried EVERY single suggestion that's on this website as well as others and NONE of it has worked. I keep seeing folks say that you have to have the 32 bit IE instead of the 64 bit. It says to check to make sure...when I look in About IE, it says 256 bit. What does that mean?? It says NOTHING about 32 bit OR 64 bit...WHICH ONE DO I HAVE??? No clarity on this site WHATSOEVER.
I've tried the uninstaller...putting it on my desktop...yadda, yadda. Restarted my comp around 20 times...nothing.
Seriously....the internet and, by extension, my computer are useless if I can't use flash. No videos, games, or anything other than text and pics. I'm 22, I'm not computer illiterate. Actually, until this...I've never had problems with computers and I've always thought of myself as fairly knowledgeable.
All I really want to do is talk to a person...but I don't want to pay $40. Someone please help me.

Hi, Please take a deep breath:-) Now I'll have questions that need answered so I can help restore your sanity/computer.
We'll just take it one step at a time.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash   Open Flash and post back all files listed. You didn't indicate any browser other than IE8, but if you see any NPSWF files then right click on each. Then click on Properties to obtain the version numbers.
With Windows, the default browser is the 32bit browser. You would know whether your Operating System is a 64bit or not, but we'll know after you check those files in the Flash folder. A 64bit OS will have a 64bit browser and a 32bit browser, but since Flash Player needs the 32bit browser, then you have that. If you tried using a 64bit browser(if you had a 64bit OS), you'd receive a message directing you to read about the Flash Player & the 64bit OS. Hope that explains the difference.
After the above, Using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and under "Show"(very light text) look in all addons for Shockwave Flash Object. Is it Installed and Enabled?
Then go here and test: As soon as the site opens you should see the Flash logo animate and the version of Flash Player you have will be displayed. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Let me know on the above. (you'll be glad to know that I won't bill you $40.00:-)

  • Unable either to install or use Adobe flash player v10+

I have tried numerous times to install the newest version of Flash player and can't do it. I have tried all suggestions listed by adobe and here in the forum,. have even turn off my Norton antiviruse, tired the manual install which won't do; it says I have a newer version. So in all respects it seems  I am stuck.
But on the other hand am able to use it when I use Google chrome? also I can not see it listed in my programs listings.
I have Windows 7, 32bit; just upgraded to IE-9 which has been causing me some problems but I can't go back to the older version.
My computer is only about1-1/2yr old. has 4mgs of ram.
    SO can anyone help.  Thanks.

Hi, Just to go over a couple of things that you posted here, before you had to edit.
I think if you had not used the Administrator Account, you would have received an error message from Adobe.
Perhaps an Uninstall/Install is in order now, rather than trying to determine what went wrong.
Download the Flash Player Uninstaller and SAVE it to your Desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Then Download the Flash Player Installer for IE and SAVE it to your Desktop. Use the EXE Installer
    http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
Then Close all browser windows, you only want to be looking at your Desktop.
Disable Norton, and Disable any instant messenger services such as Yahoo, MSN, AOL, etc. from the system tray(area near the clock)
Run the Uninstaller and when finished, Reboot(restart) the computer.
Now check and make sure Norton is still Disabled.
Then Run the Installer for IE, when finished, Reboot the computer.
Now reenable what you Disabled. Then use the test site and see if you can see the Flash Player logo animate.

Let me know if you have any questions on this.

  • Flash player v10.02.159 won't install - how can I install an older version?

Hi all, any help will be appreciated.
I've read all the relevent posts in this forum and tried the various suggestions. (used the Adobe uninstaller, used the various packages on the x64 help page; clean installs and uninstalls with RevoUninstaller Pro) shockwave for director is on Firefox, but would not even download on IE. (I don't use IE anyway, but...)
    I am running XP pro x64. I have Firefox v3.6.16 and Internet Explorer v 8 32 bit. I don't have the 64 bit installed.
When I updated to v 10, it wouldn't install on either browser. The error message for the Flash player 10.2 installer reads:
I am also running Chrome. I never updated the player, so it works on there (thank goodness!) (Nothing shows in the extensions folder)
I tried to install an older package, flashplayer 9r280_win.exe and Brothersoftdownloader_for_Adobe_Flashplayer. - clean installs and uninstalls each time., also with no luck.
Can someone tell me how to install an older version until the 64 bit version works for me? Or - if there is a fix that has not been posted yet - I'm game to try.
    Ta

You could try if the MSI installer works better; download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
If it does not, archived FP versions can be found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html

  • Flash CS3 crash at start up on Win XP SP2

i have terrible problem. Got my CS3 design premium few months
ago. I have started with no activation and used all the software
with no harm - also flash. I needed to reinstall the system anyway
(for other reasons). After system reinstallation Flash suddenly
stopped to start up. it crashes when the red welcome red screen is
beeing shown on 'initializing fonts' stage or right after it ...
then for a very short glimpse the main frame appears and all
dissapear leaving no errors in Win logs. I have been searched thru
internet to try find a solution. i have found those such as
uninstallling QuickTime and Flash Vid Encoder, checked the corrupt
fonts... i was installing and uninstalling the suite endlesslly...
nothing helped. of course i had my work deadline, so finally I
decided desperately to reinstall the system again and install all
the Suite software to clean system. So did I.
Suite has been installed, tried Flash and what made me very
happy, flash has started up with no harm... my happiness lasted
very short untill windows has downloaded and installed its updates.
After downloading Flash started to behave as before (crashing at
    start up).
Adobe support seems not support anyone... i have called them
thousand times and they only could give me silly advices as install
and reinstall suite again. If anyone has the idea what is the
reason and knows the fix, I beg for help.. i will be very thankful
as my work is totally blocked now.

If a program crashes on startup - specifically when it is
trying to initialize fonts - then in
almost all cases it is a corrupt font. Remove all non-system
fonts and try to launch flash again.
If it starts up then you will need to reinstall each font,
start up flash to see if it is the one in
    suspect.

  • How to uninstall old versions of Flash player?

I have the latest version of the Flash Player (9.0.28.0)
    installed.
However when I run Secunia's software inspector (
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector/?task=load)
it finds an old version of the Flash 7.0.19.0 and flags it as
    'Insecure'.
    This is in two places:
    C:/WINDOWS/system32/Macromed/Flash/Flash.ocx
    and
    C:/I386/Flash.ocx
How can I uninstall the old version - I do not see Flash
Player in Add/Remove of Windows (Win XP SP2)?
    thanks

It's quite handy, actually, and I suspect relatively new. It
checks your machine for outdated/unsafe applications:
    http://secunia.com/software_inspector
And of course it's totally free.
How can I verify what version(s) of Flash that I might have
loaded? There's no Program Files entry or anything in Add/Remove,
etc. OTOH, the Secunia site shows where at least part of the
product(s) are loaded, yet it's not totally clear to me if those
locations are in use by the current version.
