Flash Player will not download to HP laptop.

Following the usual procedure to download Flash Player the Adobe display states "Download sucessful" but unfortunately it is not.  There is no sign of Flash Player on the machine, when the Adobe procedure for checking the installed version is followed no  versions can be detected.
The procedure for allowing accurate downloads of Flash Player, as suggested in Help, has been followed.
Websites that require Flash Player to be installed to receive their output suggest that a more up to date version of Flash Player needs to be installed.  It is not the fault of the websites because Adobe Flash Player works perfectly well on my PC when using the same sites.
So, something odd is happening. All suggestions would be appreciated.

Active X Filtering was enabled and this has now been cleared
Problem solved.
Thank you Sunil for providing the solution.
Thank you everyone who offered help.
One day perhaps I can contribute something positive. I look forward to it.
PS We do not have Programs and Features in Control panel, we only have Programs, but this is England, perhaps it got lost in the translation!

  • 10.1 Flash player will not download on my laptop, below is the message I get

Flash Player 10.1 is not currently available for your 64-bit web browser.
64-bit Windows and Mac computers include 32-bit browsers that are compatible with Flash Player. For instructions on how to open a compatible browser and run Flash Player, see Flash Player on 64-bit operating systems.
Download a preview release of Flash Player that includes full support for 64-bit web browsers on Windows, Mac and Linux computers from Adobe Labs.

I will try 10.2 and hopefully it will work on at 64 bit
    I will let you know

I click on the link and go through the whole process of downloading the installation file but then nothing happens just a big black box popping up with no prompts and nothing being installed. I am at my wit's end and am in desperate need of what's wrong. Is it my anti virus software? Is it my firefox? I am in desperate need of help. Please advise ASAP.

  • Flash Player will not download past 47% - "cannot contact reliable source" error everytime

So just as the title states - I uninstalled Flash on my computer because it was giving me trouble. Now, everytime I try to redownload Flash for Firefox - it will not go past 47% download and the "Cannot contact reliable source" error comes up every single time. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit and I have Charter Security Suite for Antivirus if that helps.
Never had this problem before when I downloaded Flash and now this is just plain stupid.

F-Secure said that Adobe needs to submit the URL and IP addresses to them for removal from this blacklist.
That's a two way street. My brother used TrendMicro for about four years before he got rid of it. TrendMicro's stance was "We build our product and update it. The rest of the world can keep up with what we do." When he was no longer able to update QuickBooks because of TrendMicro, he uninstalled it. They told him it was Intuit's responsibility to update their (TrendMicro's) IP database. That kind of arrogance is why Apple has surpassed Microsoft in recent years as the #1 tech company in the world. People won't keep using something that continually doesn't work, like Windows Vista and now 8 - Okay, 8 is more compatible than Vista was but it's far less user friendly UNLESS you're on a touch screen tablet, which means they NEVER should have developed it for desktop and laptop use.
I worked for Intuit from 2003 to 2006 and dev people in Mountian View ran me through the update process for their websites. There are protocols that remain constant that should NOT blacklist a new update from a trusted primary, secondary and tertiary domain that's properly written. It's what prevents hack sites (like... just an example: "xxx.porn.adobe.com") from getting onto a whitelist. Any GOOD antivirus company will have databases that maintain that primary ptrotocol. If they don't they're doing things bassackwards.
I spent six years testing all kinds of software for compatibility, including several antivirus apps (but not F-secure). After all that, I made a rule for myself:
ANY software that interferes with other software, especially software that I use frequently, is gone. If there's a more compatible replacement, I'll use it instead... if not, I'll learn to get by without it.
I do graphic  and web design by trade, and anything that hinders productivity is a liability. Be it photoshop plugins that crash the app, A/V that screws with FTP, or whatever.

  • Flash Player will not download. freezes and stops. Was previously on PC. Updates will not download.

Anybody have a reason this is happening? Or I should say not happening?

    @dummergold
I'm sorry, I really do not understand what your issue is.  Your first post indicates an issue with downloading the online installer, which requires an internet connection to download/install.  User andys75622553 provided a link to the offline installer, which does not require an internet connection to install.  You're response to andys75622553 is a bit confusing.  Please restate your issue in a clear manner, preferably as stated here Read Before Posting: How To Get A Useful Answer To Your Question

Sorry to intrude and cause a second issue. I did read the 'Read Before Posting: How To Get A Useful Answer To Your Question'. and I ask to be dismissed from the trouble shooting with respect to my Windows 7 issue, as I will not be able to concentrate and other stuff. Please help Mike.
I do find it interesting that you are running XP Mike, because I also run XP on this 'dial-up internet connected' computer that I type from at present - and interesting because I thought I had given up on Flash Player updates back last April when XP became obsolete - not that XP doesn't function, as I am still using it also, but that I could not update my Internet Explorer - so, I thought that because I could not update my Internet Explorer, that Flash Player was telling me that it couldn't update. And note that my statement could be warped by time, but something like that.
    Good luck

  • I've just switched to Firefox from IE, have re-started, and now Adobe Flash Player will not download.

I installed Firefox, and went to use a web-page. I was informed that I need to install the latest Flash player, so I went to the Adobe site. Adobe's installer would get to the 12% mark and stop.
I went to my Control Panel and uninstalled my previous version of Adobe Flash, tried again, same failure to download. I also can't access IE anymore, Firefox appears and has apparently beaten up and subdued Internet Explorer... which is not really an issue, but I'd like to get Adobe set up on my machine. I never had such a problem with IE.
    Thanks for your time.

You can check if the file has been fully downloaded. The download location would be the one listed in Firefox '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''General'''. Please also check if you are able to download from other sites in Firefox. If the problem persists please also try in [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315222 Windows Safe Mode with Networking] and later install it in normal mode.

  • Comp Clueless, Flash Player Will Not Download, help?

I was having problem watching videos on youtube so I did what
their tech support said, I uninstalled flash player. Now I can't
get it to download again. I keep clicking on download on the site,
and it keeps bringing me back to the same page and not downloading.
I'm thinking it's either a security suite or an internet explorer
setting but I can't figure out what it is and I don't want to screw

  • Flash Player will not Download due to Conflicting Application

I had a virus in my computer that has since been eliminated. The only problem resulting from it seems to be I have lost the use of Flash Player. So I have tried simply re-installing it. When the installation process gets to 100% I get a message saying the installation cannot be completed until I close a conflicting application. The conflicting application is Live Messenger. The problem is that Live Messenger is not open when I get this message. In tried to unistall Flash Player, but even when I do this I get the same message that it cannot be unistalled until I close Live Messenger, which is as I stated is not even open. Very frustrating. Uncertain what to do. Has anyone else ever encountered this type of problem, or have any ideas about how to resolve it? I would greatly appreciate any help from anyone. Chris

    Hello Chris,
    1) Please restart the computer and make sure no application is running.
    2) Download the Flash Player Uninstaller from this link : http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player.exe, run it !!
    3) Download the Flash Player from this link : http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_playe r_10_active_x.exe
    4) Run it
Note : Make sure while running these (Flash Player & Flash Player Uninstaller) no programs are running
    Hope this helps !!
    Thanks

  • Adobe Flash Player will not download

Suddenly my Firefox server is saying that I don't have Adobe Flash Player installed, but I know I've used it before. I checked my trash to see if maybe it accidentally got deleted, and I didn't see anything there.
When I go on the website to try and re-download it, it doesn't work. And keeps directing me back to the site to download it. I've gotten as far as to download the file and begin to have it download to my computer, and it says "Download failed".
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

You can download and save the Flash player installation file to the desktop. Then you can close Firefox and double click that icon to start the installation of the Flash plugin.

  • Flash player will not download - mac

hey there, im having a slight problem in which I cannot download flash player for mac by the standard consumer way or the executable file way. With the normal consumer way, I click download now, it goes to the "your download should start automatically" page and nothing happens. With the .DMG way, I click on the link, and nothing happens, no progress, nothing. This happens in both safari and Firefox.
It is worth noting that I already have 10.1 installed, and have the .dmg installer on my desktop, but I am having problems with certain sites where it says I need the latest flash player to view this video, which is why I am trying to install from the internet again. Could this be the issue? I dont want to un-install and delete the installer just incase i cannot install again.
    Thanks!

So what is the full Flash Player version you have installed; see http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html ?
