  • Adobe Flash Player will not run since installing Firefox 25.0 upgrade

    Windows 7 Home Premium X64.
My question says it all. Within Firefox's own system it says the flash player is update and enabled. Any place I go today and want to play something the page posts "Get Adobe Flash Player". I upgraded to Firefox 25.0 just before I retired for the night. Today Flash Player will not work.
Within Tools>Options>Content the option to turn java off and on is no longer there. I believe you folks have CREATED A BIG BUG!!!!!

Your statement: "I missed that Firefox 25 turned on "click to play" as the default behavior for plugins. I assume you prefer to have Flash run automatically if you've approved the site in NoScript."
I didn't read anything anywhere, nor was I aware of the fact that Firefox may have changed "my" plugin settings, or broken them. How many users do you think there might be that have NoScript set this way for one or more sites.
I'm just saying it might have been nice to have been forewarned about this - obviously something that was KNOWN that the update was going to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Help Flash player will not run in Internet Explorer 11?

I have downloaded Adobe Flash Player and it will not run in Internet Explorer 11.  I have done the things suggested in the help/forum section. What else can I try?

This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • Flash Player will not run

I am able to uninstall and install Flash Player 'successfully' but as soon as I need to use it I am informed that Flash Player is not installed and advised to install it (again), but this doesn't help.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE 9 and have been able to run Flash Player until recently. It has now stopped working though. I have tried the entire list of options on how to start it running you provide at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_7__Disable_Fl ash_Player_hardware_acceleration , but all without success. The only thing I was unable to do was disable Flash Player hardware acceleration as right clicking on the box did not provide me with a "settings" option.
Please help me as I have hit a brick wall and can find no other suggestions on how to fix this problem.

Sill have this problem and still had no response. Can no one help!?! It seems incredible that I am the only one with this problem and that there is no solution!!

  • Windows 7, ie 11, flash player will not run

I have a newer computer (new to me, but refurbished) running windows 7 and internet explorer 11.  I have installed adobe flash player 5 million times, tried other browsers etc.  I show that flash player is installed and enabled however it still is not running when I verify that I have it.  Active x is off as well.  PLEASE HELP!!!

What exactly means "not running"; what do you see instead of the expected Flash content?

  • Flash Player will not run after a "successful" installation.

Over the past couple of weeks, when attempting to play a video or display a picture, I have responded to the prompt that I require the newest version of Flashplayer and have clicked to follow the link. I have done this and installed at least 10 times, the last time being a few minutes ago.  Each time I get the message that the installation was successful and that I am currently running the latest version (11.6 something), but I still get the prompt saying I need a newer version when trying to play the video or display the picture. On your help page where my version or an error message is supposed to display in a box to assisst with trouble shooting, the box remains blank.  On some occasions I have even gone into Control Panel, Program and Features, and have uninstalled Flash Player before reinstalling it. I have aslo tried disabling my virus protection (Norten) although on the times I haven't I have checked in Norton and it says it has allowed the installation.  Nothing makes no difference.  I have gone through a lot of your trouble shooting help suggestions but have found nothing that works.  I have (and have confirmed I have according to the on-line help directions) Windows 7, 64 bit, and Internet Explorer Version 9, 64 bit.  Each time I have downloaded the 64-bit version of Flash player.  Something I have noticed but can't figure out is that when I go into Control Panel, on the first screen ("Adjust your computer settings") there is a Flash Player (32-bit) heading.  After an uninstall this disappears but reappears after installion even though I have definitely chosen the 64 bit download.  I hope you can help me figure out what is going on.

  • Flash Player will not install thinks it is already installed

    Win 7 64bit
I can not open a PDF in the latest reader. It tells me flash needs to be installed. I go to the adobe site and flash player will not install stating it is already installed.  The active x widget says not player is installed.  It is not listed in managed add ons and is not listed in installed programs.
How can I install the program?

Some PDFs (with Rich Media Content) require the Flash Player plugin (NPAPI) to be installed.
I do not quite understand what you have installed, and what not.  I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely using the uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
then download and run both installers from
Flash Player for Internet Exporer - ActiveX
Flash Player for Firefox - NPAPI

  • Flash player will not install blank installer, full download? tool remove remnants of flash?

    Windows 7 64bit, Firefox,Explorer, Chrome
For the longest time flash player will not install (updates for upgrades).
If I go to the main page I can download the 1mb file then open it up and the installer box opens but never does anything and is just black except the top bar. I can't even close it out. I have to "end task" it. I has been going on for a year or so.  I usually have to find a link to the full installer version but can't find it anymore.
Is there a tool to remove all remnants of Adobe flash player?
Link to full installer version of player?
I tried uninstalling all versions but still the same problem
    Thanks

The installer works for the vast majority of people.  We serve up something like 1.2 billion installs every months, so a failure rate of even 0.0001 is > 100,000 people.  We're not seeing that kind of traffic about this issue.
As the installer isn't dependent on Flash Player, and it doesn't leave anything around beyond a log file, it's unlikely that blowing Flash Player completely away would resolve anything, and it sounds like your efforts bear that out.  There's something underneath us that's not working right.  With Mac, it's usually corrupted NVRAM settings, but I'm not sure what it is on Windows.  My guess is that it's related to the graphics subsystem, but it's not something that I've seen happen under lab conditions, and we'd need to debug it to get a definitive answer.
So, I have a couple suggestions in order of least to most effort:
    Switch to Google Chrome.
Flash Player is a built-in component, so there's nothing separate to download or maintain.  Updates happen automatically as part of the standard Chrome update process, so you never have to touch another Adobe installer if you don't want to.
Scan your hard disk for errors, run the Windows system file checker, and make sure you have the latest graphics drivers for your system
Check your hard disk for errors in Windows 7
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
Back up all of your stuff (ideally to both a disk and an online backup service for redundancy), wipe the machine and do a fresh install of Windows

I have used the Adobe tool to delete the Flash and subsequently I have updated or reloaded Flash using your updater.  I have gone into IE options and insured that the settings are supportive of Flash.  The Adobe mini Flash test program on your site says it not enabled or Active X is enabled - not true - all is set as it should be.  I have gone through your forums but to no avail.  I've looked in MS forums but nothing that made any difference.  What's going on and what can I do about it?

Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

  • Safari or flash player will not work now that I have downloaded mountain lion

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.

  • Flash player will not work on my computer, would love advice

I have windows vista.  When I visit a web page that requires flash, it instructs me to download it (even though I'm sure I have it ialready...).  I do so, it says it has downloaded successfully but I still cannot view the website.  I have uninstalled my current version of flash and reinstalled the latest version numerous times.  It even shows up in my list of programs.  But each time I visit a site that uses it, it tells me I need flash to view it.  Very frustrating.  And suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks!

This was very helpful - thank you.  I unchecked "active x filtering" and it seems to be working, under tools in IE.  a simple solution, that may have taken me days to figure out myself!  Hopefully it continues to work from thiis point forward.  Thanks!
