Flash player will simply not install??  Running Mac os 10.9.3,

Have uninstalled previous versions of Flash player..now I have no flash player, and the new downloaded version will not download(I get an error message very time)!!  Awful, unworkable junk process...Please help.   Simply cannot get the Flash version to download...It just hangs, and tells me to try again...really really frustrating, and shame on Adobe for releasing such a awful mistake of an upgrade...

Hello charlottedk, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are having cartridge and printhead problems.  I would like to try and assist.
I would suggest performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also recommend following the steps in this document on an 'Incompatible Print Cartridge' or 'Print Cartridge Problem' Message Displays on the Computer or P...
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Flash Player 9 does not install / run on Mac OSX

    Hi:
I had Flash Player 9 working fine on my Mac, G5 running OSX
10.4.10. Flash 9 worked in both Safari and Firefox.
I visited a website that incorrectly told me I needed to
    update flash:
    http://www.thehdweb.com/
I followed the link to the correct part of the Adobe site,
downloaded the Flash 9 installer and ran the installer.
    All Flash has stopped working.
    I am stuck.
I need ideas. I have looked for how to uninstall flash and
    cannot figure that out yet..
    Steve
    stephen (at) ackroyd (dot) com

Did you find a solution to this problem? I'm running into the
exact same issue. Also tried to uninstall (using the Adobe
uninstall utility) and re-install; keep getting the "succesfully
installed" message, but still not working.

  • Flash player 64 bit not installing properly

I have not been able to use flash player on my windows 7 64 bit computer. It kept showing up in the computer settings as flash player 32 bit and the flash player does not work on my laptop. Any suggestion?

You need to provide more details; "not able" and "not work" doesn't mean anything.  Also, what browser do you use?
Flash Player will automatically install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions on a 64-bit system; you cannot get only a 32-bit version on a 64-bit system.

  • Flash Player 10 won't install on Mac

I am running a Mac ibook g4 with Mac OS X V.10.4.11.  I am trying to upgrade to flash player 10.  In the process I uninstalled player 9 and downloaded player 10.  I get the Adobe Flash Player.pkg and when I try to open it to run it it tries to open in word.  I am sure it is not installed on my computer because I can no longer run any video on Youtube,  I have retired to install player 9 and I run into the same problem. Is there something that I am doing wrong?  Do I not want to run that file?  How do I get my computer to replay videos without installing Firefox?  Thank you.

Hi juano, I'm shaking my head here:-) Strange indeed. Were you able to locate the SWF for Flash Player and Shockwave Player?
They MUST be there and enabled, otherwise even tho this test indicates installed. My opinion is that the tests are looking at the Flash Player and Shockwave Player files. And evidently those files are installed. This has happened many many times with the PC's. I have had too many users report what you are and the tests show installed, but not working. If the
SWF's are not enabled, or the ActiveX Control that is used in IE, then FP will not work. As soon as they enable it, problem
solved. Now, granted that doesn't mean there may not be another problem even with the SWF & ActiveX Control enabled.
This is just something that must be confirmed before proceeding to find what other problem there may be.
This is a different test site from Adobe and it is the one the other Mac user tested on with FF and it told him he needed an
additional plug-in, which was the SWF and it was missing. It wouldn't hurt to try only using FF and it only tests for the Flash Player SWF plug-in, not the Shockwave Player.
    http://adobe.com/software/flash/about
Now this test will only tell you that FP is installed and IF the SWF plug-in is missing. If you have the SWF installed, but not Enabled, it won't tell you that. That is why I wanted you to find those SWF plug-ins to make sure they were enabled. If I knew where they were located in Mac, I would tell you. I am guessing here, but I think they are in the Library where any other plug-ins are, as Quicktime, etc.
    Thanks,

  • HELP Flash Player will No longer install :(

    I have a 64bit acer aspire 4741 laptop - Intel Core i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz 2.27GHz & 4GB Ram.
I have had flash player on it fine before, but it only works the 1st time it's downloaded as soon as I closed my laptop lid or shutdown, the plug in stopped working & I had to re-install it- a hassle but do-able.
I have sims 3 pets on it & it was working fine untill today when pets wouldnt open then crashed due to flash player not working (flash player worked fine for 2dys-which was a 1st & i thought that version had fixed the problem untill it wouldnt work today). I uninstalled flash player & tried to reinstall it again from the adobe site & this is what happens:
    Click download
Click Save file - it downloads to downloads folder
    double click flashplayer 11 installer\
dialog box with run comes up
    Click Run, it closes
mouse icon shows processing circle for 10sec's then Nothing.............7 times this is what has happened!!!
There is no flash player installed at all - I installed flash player 10- the installer worked fine so think it's the fact my laptop is 0.03-0.06 GHz lower than required according to flash player 11's system requirements (figured this out AFTER deleting ALL flash players off of my system, so dont know what version of flash player I had yesterday!) & now cant play any games due to not being able to install flash player AT ALL- 10 didnt cut the mustard & pets along with a few other games wont open to play.
I have tried restarting my PC between installs- deleting all previous versions from my system (including from recycle bin)- All that seems to happen after clicking run is Adobe flash play installer shows up in task manager under running processes & I have to end it there inorder to try install flash player again other wise a dialog box saying only one instance of this can run at a time.
I need to know how to get flash player back on my system so I can use my computer & play my flippn games - I'm not a PC wizz, so basic & easy to follow would be good thanks lol
    UPDATE...
After all of the above I THINK I've managed to get it flash player 11 to install by going to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ & using the pop up message that appeared under the taskbar saying 'missing plug-in' & having that directly install it on to my laptop - it did crash twice while installing but I just waited it out & it started working again- will remove this update if the games & what not still wont work....fingers crossed.

  • Flash Player 9 won't install on Mac OSX(PC)

I got a prompt on a website saying that I needed to download
FlashPlayer 9 and plug-in. I downloaded the installer and tried to
install the application. When I get the test page I also get the
same prompt telling me I need the plug-in and taking me back to the
page where you download the installer. In other words, I'm going in
circles. Something is preventing the application from installing.
And most web pages have cube questionmark icons where I should be
    viewing flash content.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Well, none of these steps have been tested (by me) on a non
Intel mac.. So maybe we need different steps for PowerPC
processors, which wouldn't necessarily make sense to me.
Can you try these steps in order please and let me know what
    happens?
    1. Delete the following files (or the entire folder) if they
    exist:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player Enabler.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/flashplayer.xpt
    2. Repair disk permissions using the Disk Utility
(/Applications/Utilities/). For details see Apple TechDoc
"Troubleshooting permissions issues in Mac OS X".
    3. Reinstall Flash Player 9.
THEN... if that fails do this:
    1. Delete the following files (or the entire folder) if they
exist *(again, and yes I know it's repetitive...)*
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player Enabler.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Flash Player.plugin
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins/flashplayer.xpt
    2. Run Disk Utility's "Permission Repair" again..
    3. Install FP9 as root:
    a. Open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal)
    b. CAREFULLY type the following line, exactly as you see it
here (there is a space after cd):
for intel macs: cd /Volumes/"Adobe Flash Player 9"/"Install
    Flash Player 9 UB.app"/Contents/MacOS\
for powerPC macs: cd /Volumes/"Adobe Flash Player 9"/"Install
    Flash Player 9 OSX"/Contents/MacOSClassic
    c. CAREFULLY type the following line (there is a space after
    sudo):
for intel macs: sudo "./Install Flash Player 9 UB"
for powerPC macs: sudo "./Install Flash Player 9 OSX"
Let me know if you see any path discrepances on the powerpc
machine. I'm looking at the paths on my macbook pro and trying to
type them out correctly on the XP box I'm doing this forum
    on..

  • Flash Player 10.1 not working for Mac

I recently downloaded the new flash player 10.1 for my mac and also have updated to the latest safari browser but every time i try and watch any videos or play flash games it doesn't work and i'm told to download the latest flash player. I've tried uninstalling the reinstalling and enabling the flash plugin but nothing is working. After it says that it has installed successfully which i do when all the browsers are shut and i restart the computer it doesn't work. Not sure if i've done something wrong, but this is driving me up the wall!!!! Can anyone please help me??

Hi, Sometimes the update of the Safari browser disables the Shockwave Flash plugin. Look into the HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ directory and see if you have: Make sure it is Enabled.
        Flash Player.plugin
    Hope that helps,

  • Adobe Flash Player will not run since installing Firefox 25.0 upgrade

    Windows 7 Home Premium X64.
My question says it all. Within Firefox's own system it says the flash player is update and enabled. Any place I go today and want to play something the page posts "Get Adobe Flash Player". I upgraded to Firefox 25.0 just before I retired for the night. Today Flash Player will not work.
Within Tools>Options>Content the option to turn java off and on is no longer there. I believe you folks have CREATED A BIG BUG!!!!!

Your statement: "I missed that Firefox 25 turned on "click to play" as the default behavior for plugins. I assume you prefer to have Flash run automatically if you've approved the site in NoScript."
I didn't read anything anywhere, nor was I aware of the fact that Firefox may have changed "my" plugin settings, or broken them. How many users do you think there might be that have NoScript set this way for one or more sites.
I'm just saying it might have been nice to have been forewarned about this - obviously something that was KNOWN that the update was going to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Flash player will not install blank installer, full download? tool remove remnants of flash?

    Windows 7 64bit, Firefox,Explorer, Chrome
For the longest time flash player will not install (updates for upgrades).
If I go to the main page I can download the 1mb file then open it up and the installer box opens but never does anything and is just black except the top bar. I can't even close it out. I have to "end task" it. I has been going on for a year or so.  I usually have to find a link to the full installer version but can't find it anymore.
Is there a tool to remove all remnants of Adobe flash player?
Link to full installer version of player?
I tried uninstalling all versions but still the same problem
    Thanks

The installer works for the vast majority of people.  We serve up something like 1.2 billion installs every months, so a failure rate of even 0.0001 is > 100,000 people.  We're not seeing that kind of traffic about this issue.
As the installer isn't dependent on Flash Player, and it doesn't leave anything around beyond a log file, it's unlikely that blowing Flash Player completely away would resolve anything, and it sounds like your efforts bear that out.  There's something underneath us that's not working right.  With Mac, it's usually corrupted NVRAM settings, but I'm not sure what it is on Windows.  My guess is that it's related to the graphics subsystem, but it's not something that I've seen happen under lab conditions, and we'd need to debug it to get a definitive answer.
So, I have a couple suggestions in order of least to most effort:
    Switch to Google Chrome.
Flash Player is a built-in component, so there's nothing separate to download or maintain.  Updates happen automatically as part of the standard Chrome update process, so you never have to touch another Adobe installer if you don't want to.
Scan your hard disk for errors, run the Windows system file checker, and make sure you have the latest graphics drivers for your system
Check your hard disk for errors in Windows 7
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
Back up all of your stuff (ideally to both a disk and an online backup service for redundancy), wipe the machine and do a fresh install of Windows

  • Flash Player will not install thinks it is already installed

    Win 7 64bit
I can not open a PDF in the latest reader. It tells me flash needs to be installed. I go to the adobe site and flash player will not install stating it is already installed.  The active x widget says not player is installed.  It is not listed in managed add ons and is not listed in installed programs.
How can I install the program?

Some PDFs (with Rich Media Content) require the Flash Player plugin (NPAPI) to be installed.
I do not quite understand what you have installed, and what not.  I recommend that you uninstall Flash Player completely using the uninstaller from http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
then download and run both installers from
Flash Player for Internet Exporer - ActiveX
Flash Player for Firefox - NPAPI

Hi, Was this the Mac Troubleshooting Guide with screenshots that you used? If so, you may want to check it again as it was updated today 12/13/10. If not, you may want to review it.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=fnctn,
You can also test with each browser at this site and let me know if you can see the Flash logo animate and the version of Flash Player that you have Installed will be displayed. Let me know the results of that.
    http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
Also, when you reply, please list what browser(s) you use.
Do you know where the Flash files are located? I am not as familiar with Mac as the PC, so hopefully you can help me help you:-)
