Flash Player won't work on my Mac

It just happened last night when I tried to view a video and wouldn't let me because of a missing plug in. So I downloaded the lastest version of flash which was flash 10. Installed, but still won't load up videos. HELP!! I've uninstalled both Flash and Shockwave player and reinstalled, still doesn't work.

Same here!  I have uninstalled and re-installed and followed every direction on the adobe website.  "Installation Successful" is not true! I still have "missing plug-in" every where.  I have plenty of disc space.  Is this just a Mac problem?

Seem to have tried everything. i.e. chrome, firebird, archived flash players, etc. All not supported. Any insight??? It started when I tried to upgrade current flash player and it said I needed to uninstall current version, which I did, and then it wouldn't download the current one giving me the not supported story! Please help!!!!!!

Hi Andy, that is correct, they don't support PPC Macs anymore.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/865/cpsid_86551.html#prob1=uninst,os=m10.6,
    Download this if you haven't...
    http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp10.1.102.6 4_and_9.0.289.0archive.zip
Once downloaded if it doesn't unzip automatically the double click on that file.
Look for the fp10.1.102.64_and_9.0.289.0archive folder, open it, look for the Flash Player 10.1.102.64 folder & open and look for 101r10264 folder & open it, double click on the flashplayer101r102_64_ubmac.dmg file, choose the Install Adobe Flash Player file to install... they don't make it easy!

  • Flash player won't work after a successful download

    About my Mac:
    OS X version 10.8.4
    1.3 GHz
    Safari: version 6.0.5
I have installed and unistalled flash player several times, and even restarted my computer. I followed all the steps to do so correctly, but the Flash Player won't work at all. Youtube and other websites give me error messages when I try to watch a video. They say "missing plug-in".
I really can't seem to find the problem.
(For what this info is worth: I just got my computer a couple days ago)

How to perform a "clean install" of Flash Player in Mac OS X
    Give that a shot.

  • The latest version of Adobe Flash Player doesn't work on my Mac

The latest version of Adobe Flash Player doesn't work on my Mac?
    What is the solution?

Download and install a version compatible to whatever cat flavor you have on the computer.

Maybe Flash 11 is too big and you need to stay on Flash 10.3

After downloading, you need to run the installer.
Could you please visit this site: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
If Flash Player is installed in your machine, it will give you the version number.

I'm sorry. I was hoping it would work for you. I have to delete it about
once a day and reinstall it. It is really getting on my nerves. You are
talking about deleting and reinstalling right? Sorry I'm not in the forum

  • IE 11--Flash Player won't work

I have just installed Internet explorer 11, and my flash player won't work.  I have uninstalled and re-installed it,  and unchecked Active-X, and enabled shockwave.   Any suggestions please?????

I could not get this problem solved.  Uninstalled IE 11, and reinstalled IE9, and things are working fine.

  • Flash Player won't install properly in Mac

I have repeatedly attempted to install the most current version of Adobe Flash Player in my 10.8.4 Mac without success.  Actually it installs, but does not give me opportunity to accept your terms (which I am willing to do).  When I try to open a file, it is black.  What do I have to do to get this to work properly?

    Junie,
    Hi...
I really appreciate your assistance.... I installed firefox. I have MAC version 10.5.8... I think I should have stated that on my prior post......sorry.
The version of firefox I installed on this mac works until I attempt to use a app that requires flash. I updated the flash player with the correct version that firefox requires.
to no avail will the plugin update. when attempting to update the plugins, I get a message from firefox telling me that I do not have the required system in the mac in order to update the plugins.
So...I am going to continue to investigate and analyze where I am going wrong in my attempts to reinstall adobe flash on this mac....
I will keep you apprised to my outcome. Any further assistance that you may possibly provide me would be Great!!
    Thanks again,
    Scott

  • Now that I have installed OSX Lion, my flash player won't work.

After I installed OSX Lion a few days ago my flash player suddenly stopped working. It won't let me update (it says I have the newest version) and when say, I try to watch a YouTube video a little box comes up over the player with settings and the "allow" button but no matter if I use the trackpad or the keyboard I can't select anything.
It's getting really annoying because I can't play games, watch videos or video share online anymore and I have no idea how to fix it.
Is it just something that will be stuck until Adobe releases a version that isn't beta for OSX 10.7?

This allows me to watch videos which is great but still when I try to play any flash games or enable a webcam on something other than iChat, Skype or Photobooth the dialog box comes up and even using tab and space bar like Adobe suggests doesn't seem to work. :-/
Glad to be able to watch videos again though

  • Flash player won't work and new one won't install

My adobe flash player is not working, when I tried to download the latest flash player it would not install which means I cannot download a file i need from the transfer email program which requires the flash player. I have gone to the web site and went through the suggested routine of making sure things are enabled. Still no Luck. Need help!

What is your operating system & version?
    What is your web browser?
    What exactly means "not working"?
    What exactly means "cannot"?

  • Flash Player won't work following malware removal - help!

I removed some malware using malwarebytes, which I thought was the end of my problem, but in fact it has opened up a bigger one, in that Flash Player has stopped working.  I've tried uninstalling and re-installing - now have version 10.2.153.1 - but no success.  Kids didn't mind when they couldn't access their online homework; not so happy now they can't play their games either.  I've looked at other discussions for a solution, but nothing quite fits this problem.  Any help gratefully accepted.
I can follow instructions but I'm not techie, so any replies need to be idiot-friendly, thanks.

Have just spotted your post about the "kill-bit" http://forums.adobe.com/message/3432049#3432049 - sounds remakably like my problem so will check it out when I get home this evening.  Just one question though - is there any point in first trying to do a system restore to a point prior to the malware removal, or would I be wasting my time?

  • The newest version of Flash Player won't install on my Mac!  Plug ins not working now!

Anyone else having this problem????  I downloaded the "latest version" yesteday.  Now I can't run Iheart radio/pandora/Jigidi puzzles without it saying it can't because of "plug ins".

I’m seeing a lot of these complaints with this latest update… and Snow Leopard
I made a PDF with illustrated, detailed instructions to resolve this: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
Use THIS file with those instructions: Flash Player 12.0.0.44 (Mac OS X)

  • Flash Player won't work on Powebook G4 version 10.5.8

    Hi,
Am about to sell on my Powerbook G4 however i'm unable to use iPlayer/Youtube. I've gone on the FlashPalyer site and downloaded the PowerPC version but it doesn't work. Can someone advise what the correct version I need is ? The version I tried was : "Flash Player 10.1.102.64".
    Hope someone can assist..

Adobe's last release of Flash Player for PPC Macs was in November, 2010 with release 10.1.102.64 Subsequent releases are for Intel based Macs only.
There is this Flash player 11.1 hack on PowerPC - https://discussions.apple.com/message/16990862 - this gets FP to tell web sites you are running a newer version than you really are. The hack gets around web sites that don't really need a new version but think they know best. If they really do require it then this hack doesn't work.  It isn't clear to me since you are selling this G4 why you are suddenly concerned about being able to play YouTube etc.  Even if you get the hack to work, a G4 is rapidly ageing and a person buying it won't be able to do these advanced web things for long anyway. I also don't know if I would want to buy a computer where people had been installing hacks.  I guess it is buyer beware but still...

  • Flash Player Won't Work - Help?!?!

    Mac OSX - 10.1
    Safari Version - 8.0
I am having some trouble downloading Flash Player to work with Safari and my friend is also having the same issue.
I have done pretty much every procedure: uninstalled, deleted plugins but still no luck.
It reaches 30% installation and then just says 'it's lost connection' but then won't do anything after that.
    SOMEONE HELP ME!!!

I tried doing that but it tells me that:
    "Safari can't open http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player_osx.dm g'
as it is unable to connect to 'download.macromedia.com'
    Which is pretty annoying.

  • Flash player won't work on any browsers

For some reason, flash won't work on any browsers. I've tried Chrome, Safari and Firefox. I have always had to click on any flash element to load it however now, it just says I have to install flash. I have tried re-installing flash, uninstalling flash (checked it wasn't still in macHD/library etc)
I've searched around for any ideas that might work but can't find anything that's working. Does anyone have any suggestions!?

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 7. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
You might have to log out or reboot before a Flash update takes effect.
    Step 2
In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.
    Step 3
If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, log in to YouTube and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
    Step 4
If you get a warning of a "blocked" or "outdated" plug-in, then from the menu bar select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch the browser.
If the warning persists, triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open. Inside it, there should be a file named "XProtect.meta.plist". If that file is missing and you know why it's missing, restore it from a backup or copy it from another Mac running the same version of OS X. Otherwise, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    Step 5
Open this folder as in Step 4:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
    Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
    Step 6
Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from the domain "get.adobe.com". Don't click a link from any other website, including this one, because you can't trust links. They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    Step 7
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
    Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
    Then click the button marked
    Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.
    Step 8
    Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
