Flash plugin crash frequency has gone up in latest Firefox update

I am a webmaster for ezHomeHeating.com and have noticed that some of my flash content often ends up crashing on Firefox 22.0. This problem was pointed out to me by some site visitors and I found out that it seems be happening mostly in Firefox 22.0 - Chrome 28.0.1500.72 m and IE 9.0.7600 seem okay.  I have since pulled the content off the website until I can root cause this.
I was researching this a little and and found this troubleshooting guide on Mozilla - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keep-flash-up-to-date-and-troubleshoot-problems. I tried disabling hardware acceleration which helped (frequency went down) but didnt fully fix the problem. Could this be a graphics driver issue? I cant find an update for mine.
Has anybody come across this issue? Will appreciate your help.

The problem is caused by the new "off main thread composition" feature which was enabled in Firefox 33. You can disable this in the Firefox preferences by changing the value of layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled to false.
I opened the bug you mentioned two weeks before the release of Firefox 33, but never received any feedback. I even sent an email directly to the developer but didn't receive an answer. It gives the impression, that the developer is not interested in feedback.

  • Flash doesn't work on only Firefox--it crashes ever since I got the latest Firefox update. I need help!!

It doesn't load any flash content only on Firefox. Tried reinstalling Flash and reinstalling Firefox and had the same problem.

I did everything written ''it solved'' but nothing solved. I think I'll begin to use chrome :(

  • When I try to print coupons, I get a message that the coupon printer plugin has crashed. I've tried following the instructions for when the Adobe Flash plugin crashes, but reloading the page does not work. Just sits there for 5 minutes doing nothing.

Happens when going to print.coupons.com. I click the "learn more" button on the message that the plugin has crashed, and I get sent to the Adobe Flash plugin crash info page on Firefox. They say just to reload the page. There is a button for this. I click it and the page tries to reload for 5 minutes before freezing.

  • Flash plugin crashes after Lion 10.7.4 update

Has any one had this most recent Flash related problem?
After updating my system to 10.7.4, the flash plugin crashes in both Safari and Firefox.  Videos don;t so much as start.
I reverted back to 10.7.3 with time machine and flash workes fine again.  Reinstalled the update, and broken again.
Safari and Firefox are all up to date as well as the flash plugin. All caches have been cleared. Based on info I have gotten from this and other forums, I have checked all the settings in the flash system preferences.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I've had a similar problem.  On my first boot up after installing 10.7.4,  Firefox would not open.  Crashed every time.  Safari was not affected.  I have no idea if it was related to the flash plugin, but I did install a the latest version of that a couple of weeks ago.
Here's what fixed it: a second boot up.

  • Firefox 16.0.1 Crashes, Not Responding with Unresponsive Script Warnings and Adobe Flash Plugin Crashes

    Hello,
I'm experiencing some issues with Firefox 16.0.1 which I had also experienced with Firefox 15.0.1.
On numerous occasions Firefox has crashed while attempting to access a website link contained in an AOL e-mail message.
Unrelated to that issue, Firefox has hung up frequently with associated unresponsive script warnings and occasionally with the Adobe Flash Plugin crashing. Some of the unresponsive script warnings are:

I've reset Firefox and disabled all the plugins and yet these problems persist.
What are those script warnings actually telling me and are there any recommendations on how to resolve these issues?
    Thank you,
    Mike

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

  • FireFox opens & Adobe Flash Plugin crashes in a WOT "automatic" download.

WOT “automatically downloads” on a separate tab every time I start FireFox. Almost every time I start FireFox the Adobe Flash Plugin crashes in the WOT automatic download and ties up my PC. The problem does not occur with Internet-Explorer which I seldom use.
1- I removed WOT and re-installed it, but it continued the same.
2- I reinstalled the Adobe Flash Plugin which I always keep up to date.
    3- Please work this out.
4- Why must WOT automatically download on a separate tab every time I start FireFox? It is very annoying.
Thank you for all you do. Have a blessed day, Steve Lahey.

  • Lion 10.7.4 Flash Plugin Crashes

I am using a mid 2009 Macbook pro, and just updated to 10.7.4. Since doing this my Flash plugin crashes on both Safari and Firefox so I can't even load Youtube videos.
I've got the most updated version of Firefox and Flash player, and after looking through forums have tried rebooting my Macbook several times. Each time I reboot Youtube videos load a little bit more without crashing, but I havn't got more than 5 seconds into a video yet.
    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Hi...
    Quit your browsers.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • Adobe flash plugin crash

While trying to play a game on facebook called "FrontierVille" I always get "adobe flash plugin crashed".  I have uninstalled and re-installed the adobe flash player but to no avail.  All the other games like "Farmville" work fine.
    Can anyone help me out?

Try disabling hardware acceleration.  If that does not solve the problem, you have to post some more information like
    your operating system and version
    your web browser(s) and version(s)
    your Flash Player version

  • On Paltalk Express, the Adobe Flash plugin crashes when logging in

The Paltalk Express page loads, but when I try to login, the Adobe Flash plugin crashes.
== URL of affected sites ==

I'm running on Ubuntu 9.10 with Firefox 3.6.10.
thanks to the first post, i didn't downgrade Firefox to 3.5 but i did download 3.5.
    Here is what i did:
    I downloaded 3.5.13 : http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
The link to 3.5.13 is on the right under Other Versions.
Once you click on FF 3.5.13, it'll take you to all different languages of 3.5.13.
I got the English version. The name of the file is : firefox-3.5.13.tar.bz2
Once downloaded, i opened the location of the file( Downloads folder) and opened the package by double clicking on it. YOur 9.10 should be able to recognize bz2 format and you will see a folder called Firefox in the archive.
Simply, extract the folder and place it on your desktop.
IF you want to run FF3.5.13, close all firefox browsers that are already opened.
Once this is done, Open the folder "Firefox" that you just extracted and double click on the file firefox. It should ask you to run, display, run in terminal... simply press run.
This is how i got it to work. simple steps. to confirm it is working, check the version of firefox and try paltalk express

  • Flash plugin crashes everytime I touch a key on the keyboard.

I've tried Safe Mode but I get the same issue. Firefox is updated and so is Flash.
It happens 100% of the time on YouTube, but not every site that uses Flash.
I've tried fresh installs, reinstalling graphics drivers, safe mode, new users, hardware acceleration, you name it.
This has been happening since last December.

My Pages Ap has gone grey and cannot be updated at the ap store.  I don't want to lose what I have there...what should I do?

What do you mean it has gone gray? Were you trying to update the app and it stalled on you?
Do you backup with iCloud or iTunes on your computer? If you have all of the files backed up then you should be able to delete the app and reinstall it - if needed.
