It's definitely the PDF!
I created a test PDF with two videos in it (one FLV, one MP4), and they display fine: https://files.acrobat.com/a/preview/9ffafae9-40f6-446b-a058-f2ef0ab7c52c
I suggest that you post in the Photoshop or German forum https://forums.adobe.com/community/international_forums/deutsche that someone can fix that PDF.

  • Adobe Reader X (10.1.1) Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.

This is the second time this has happen.
My system consists of the following:
    PC running Windows 7 w/64bit
When I try to open a .pdf Iget a pop-up within 10 seconds say Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.
I paid the $39.00 from tech support to get this fixed in Aug. 2011 and now it's back.
I have gone through all the Adobe hoops and nothing has worked.

    Hi,
Do you have any 3rd party plugin installed for Adobe Reader? If not, close all running instances of Adobe Reader and delete the entire folder at: C:\program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\plug_ins.
Now goto Control Panel > Programs and Features. Locate the entry for Adobe Reader X and chose to repair the installation.
If you do have a 3rd party plugin installed, try uninstalling them and see if the issue is related to the same. If it works, do let me know which plugins were causing the issue so that I can have a look.
    Hopefully, this should fix things.
    Thanks

  • The error "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit"

I have gotten the RIKLA from Adobe. And I use the example code BasicPlugin(you can download it from Adobe wetsite) as my plug_in, then, I made the api file according to the steps in document in the "Creating an Adobe Reader Plug_in" section of the "Developping Plug_ins and Applications". As last,I copy the api file to plug_ins folder, open Adobe Reader 8. I saw under the Tool memu there is a new menu named Acrobat sdk so that I think the api file is loaded successfully by Acrobat reader. But an error appears, it is "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit". Can someone tell me why?Thank you.

    I followed your instructions
"You can find these in the "plug-ins" folder. [C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins]"
I finally found my culprit, I deleted one file folder at a time, then restored them from my Recycle Bin.
I finally found my culprit, in the folder “Babylon” the file “BabylonRPI" was the main culprit.
I deleted the whole Babylon file folder, and havent had the error "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit" ever since.
Thank you very much kid, you kept it simple, I am not a Techie either.

  • Adobe Reader Plug-in shows error 'Invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.'

I followed all the steps provided in the development guide. Still it shows this error. Please provide any help!

    No Luck
We received the 'RIKLA-DigCert.rc' file along with 'T&C of Adobe' file. I followed the following steps as provided by Adobe's Developer's guide:
After receiving the digital certificate, enable the plug-in for Adobe Reader, by performing the following tasks:
1.Make a copy of dummy.rc and put it in your project directory.
2.Open your plug-in project in Visual Studio. Make sure you are in Resource View.
Adobe Acrobat SDK Creating an Adobe Reader Plug-In
Developing Plug-ins and Applications Creating resource files on the UNIX platform 248
3.Open dummy.rc from your project directory. Copy the API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST data segment (a dummy encrypted digest) to the resource portion of your plug-in.
4.Open the digital certificate file returned to you by Adobe. Copy the API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE data segment (your digital certificate) to the resource portion of your plug-in.
5.Rebuild your plug-in. The plug-in will be created with the correct API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE data segment and a dummy API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST data segment, which will be replaced with real data in the next steps.
But the problem is, when I open ''RIKLA-DigCert.rc' file, I got only '
API_DIGITAL_CERTIFICATE' inside but no'API_ENCRYPTED_DIGEST' as shown in Step-3. How do I get that? Also, we have already created Acrobat Plugin file which has got our project resource file (.rc). How do I use the same plugin for Adobe Reader as well? Is there any step missing? please provide any help as this is stopping our progress even after getting the License. Thanks in advance!

  • Same message 2 dnld Plugin, (Java), and Adobe Reader: Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\ced2e.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.E

Spent all afternoon downloading Java plugiins and Adobe reader; each with the following "failure message."
Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\ced2e.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.Error 2203.Database: C:\Windows\Installer\ced2e.ipi. Cannot open database file. System error -2147287035.

This is going to sound lame, but... have you shut down and restarted Windows since this problem began? Sometimes the Windows Installer starts behaving erratically, perhaps due to a backlog of deferred updates, and the only way to get around it is to reboot.

  • Flash Builder 4 - Mobile (Adobe read this!)

This is the second time I've written this letter. The first was a five-paragraph rant detailing the chronicles of my journey into mobile using the Adobe tools. This time, however, I've decided to break it down in a different way. It goes like this:
    - Adobe spends considerable effort trying to convince Flash (AS3) developers to migrate to Flex (Flash Builder)
    - After spending time with Flex, I am one of those who is convinced by the ease and power of what it offers. I buy Flex (Flash Builder)
    - Adobe announces it will provide support for building iOS application but insists you use (buy) Flash CS5.
    - Support (and methods) for using Flash Builder to create iOS applications is complex, messy and tedious at best.
    - I buy an iPad ($3500), pay for an Apple developer account($100) and start using Flash CS5.
    - I have to strip out the AS3 from my Flex project to bring it into Flash CS5. (Abandoning all the Flex components that made it great in the first place)
    - I get my AS3 application running locally on my iPad. Despite every effort, it runs considerably slow (to my surprise)
    - Apple makes it's TOS changes, restricting 3rd party developer tools.
    - I'm now **** out of luck getting my Flash based application public (iTunes Store)
    - Adobe starts to turn it's attention to Android (a move I fully supported despite my own shortcomings)
    - AIR for Android starts to unfold. So, I start taking a look at it in addition to downloading the Android SDK.
    - Publishing anything to an Android device, using Flash Builder, is (again) a complex, messy and tedious task. Command lines etc.. nightmare.
    - Now, Apple reverses it's TOS policies.
    - More Android 2.2 Froyo devices begin to emerge now (especially tablets like the Galaxy)
So, at this point I digress.
So, Adobe. You wanted us to migrate to Flash Builder. So, we did. This, by the way, means we BOUGHT the software. ($780)
So, you want to demonstrate Flash's power to publish to mobile devices. (meaning, now, iOS and Android)
ALRIGHT THEN, WHY DONT YOU SPEND SOME TIME GETTING FLASH BUILDER 4 UP TO PAR ALREADY? WHY DON'T YOU MAKE PUBLISHING FOR BOTH PLATFORMS (iOS and ANDROID) MORE ELEGANT NOW? WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO BUY FLASH CS5 NOW THAT WE'VE FINALLY COME ON BOARD WITH FLASH BUILDER? WHY DONT YOU SPEND SOME TIME PROVIDING AN ELEGANT SOLUTION FOR MOBILE PUBLISHING - LIKE YOU'VE ALREADY DONE FOR FLASH CS5 (MONTHS AGO). I SHOULD BE ABLE TO FILL OUT A FEW FIELDS, SELECT A FEW OPTIONS FROM A MENU AND PUBLISH MY APPLICATION FROM FLASH BUILDER. NOT DOWNLOAD SDK'S, DOWNLOAD SPECIAL BUILDS OF AIR AND FLASH PLAYER ON A WEEKLY BASIS. GET FLASH BUILDER 4 UP TO PAR SO WE CAN WRITE ONCE AND PUBLISH (PUSHING A BUTTON) TO BOTH iOS AND ANDROID WITHOUT SPENDING HOURS FIGURING OUT HOW TO GET IT ALL WORKING.

Again, my issue is not with Flash Builder itself. In fact I think Adobe is doing a tremendous job regarding many things at this juncture. They've been under a considerable amount of pressure, especially since Apple tried to declare Flash an obsolete technology. I'm proud of Adobe and Flash - which I thoroughly enjoy working with. I also enjoy working with Flash Builder.
My issue is in regards to support. It's that simple. I understand that many features take time to prepare prior to their public release. This is obvious. There are a lot of tests to be made prior to even a first release. My issue is a specific one. It is in regards to Flash Builder and their attitude towards this piece of software as it relates to this "mobile storm" that has approached. Everything is about MOBILE, MOBILE, MOBILE. Well, ok.. it's about mobile. Adobe really only has two (count that, 2!) pieces of software that creates Flash content. (and NO, that isn't a lot). There's the Flash IDE and Flash Builder, which is SUPPOSED TO BE FOR DEVELOPERS. One would think that more time would have been spent of getting ELEGANT mobile publishing solutions into Flash Builder at this point. I'm tired of reading one massive pdf after another just to understand what the hell I'm supposed to be doing. AND.. on top of this.. they get simple, fluid, elegant solutions into the FLASH IDE in the meantime. iPhone, Android publishing with the click of a button in the Flash IDE? DONE! Months ago.. Flash Builder 4 with the same capabilities? Nothing. Command lines... Terminal windows.. give me a break.

  • Invalid Plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit.

    Hi,
I have a valid Reader Integration key. The problem is that the above message appears regardless what I am doing.
Can anyone from adobe answers what the message means?
Under the preferences I unchecked "Use only certified plugins".
I have integrated a window in the plugin. While the messagebox is displayed, I can send a message to my window and therefore I see that the plugIn is loaded.
    I hope someone can help.
    Regards
    Manfred

Certified plugins are NOT the same as reader plugins.   Certified plugins only come from Adobe and exist for both Reader and Acrobat.  Reader plugins work in Reader, while standard plugins do not.
I would check that you are properly adding the key to the plugin - that's usally what the message means.

  • Adobe Reader Updates and Flash Plugin for Reader.

I was surprised to find out that Adobe Reader Updates and also Flash Plugin for Adobe Reader cannot be installed on Windows 7 without Admin Rights!!!!!
I remember on Windows XP this was not an issue. I am sure I have checked the possibility of installing Adobe Flash Plugin for Adobe Reader on Windows XP without Admin Rights and it worked...
Now, we have some major issue...
I have prepared Adobe PDF Portfolio for some new policy for Housing Loan, and deployed it to be open from a Web Browser. As per my testing, it worked very nice, and the Business User loved it. On Windows XP, if flash plugin for Reader is not installed, the user will be guided to install it, and it works very nicely.
Just before sending the announcement to all users, we realized that on Windows 7, if flash plugin for Reader is not installed, then when the user clicks on the link to open the PDF Portfolio, then nothing happens. The browser window will open, and it will hang.
Then we found out that on Windows 7 we have to install the Reader Flash Plugin manually, and also, the user must have Admin Rights ...
Now, a decision has been made to cancel the work done using PDF Portfolio, and develop a simple page with links to the required documents...
    Any solution for this?
How we can install the required plugin without the need for Admin Right?
Why on Windows 7, the user does not get prompts to guide him to install Adobe Reader Flash Plugin?
    Tarek.

I think I can see the reason for this. The Flash Player is separated from Adobe Reader; the system component is now used. (It appears that the "browser plug-in" and "Flash plug-in for Adobe Reader" are indeed the same thing, loaded from the same system location).
Adobe are following recommended practice. It is right and proper that software is installed by the administrator. This then means that the non-administrator end user is protected from malware which attempts to change that software for bad reasons.
Nobody wants to walk round installing 1000 copies of software. Personally, I'd draw the line around 5 copies. Above that, software designed for bulk use is deployed centrally using enterprise deployment tools.
There are even more powerful reasons to do this today, as security updates should be installed almost immediately, and end users won't bother. Generally, the tools are standard, but the vendor adds support for deploying software in these standard frameworks.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.03 and Flash Player 11.8.800.94 Not Working on Windows 8

On a computer running Windows 8 Enterprise, Adobe Reader 11.0.03, and Flash Player 11.8.800.94, I am unable to open a flash-enabled PDF.  Reader gives me the error "To view the Flash technology content in this PDF file, please install this version of Flash Player that supports Adobe Reader and Acrobat."  Adobe's Flash verification page shows me that Flash Player is working, and I can open other basic PDFs in Reader.  I have another machine with an identical setup, except that it has Acrobat 11.0.03 instead of Reader, and the PDF opens just fine on that machine.  Why won't Reader open the Flash-enabled PDF?

  • Flash Player And adobe reader not working and downloads don't work

I have IE 8 and windows vista and everything has worked great for 2 years until 2 or 3 weeks ago.  At that time my flash player stopped working so I could no longer get videos , streaming stock quotes, weather map loops, etc and when I go to websites that use Flash (i.e. Piaaz Hut) it wouldn't work.  Also, at that same time my adobe reader stopped working properly and I can't view mosy PDF Files.
I have gone through many of the posts on this forum and have tried many of the fixes, but none have work for me.
I tried to uninstall the Flash Player, but I didn't use the Adobe uninstaller.
Whenever I try to update or load the Flash player, a dialog box with the globe tossing papers to the folder appears and then after a few seconds I get the the message that IE can't install_flash_player_ax.exe from fp download.adobe.com, and then a message that says IE was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found.
In control panel programs I have listed
    Adobe AIR      no size
Adobe Flash Player 10 active X           no size
    Adobe Reader 9.3     141mb
    Macromedia Shockwave player      no size
In Tools i have the following add ons and they are all enabled
    Shockwave Flash object 10.0.42.34
    Adobe PDF Link Helper
    Adobe PDF Reader
Macromedia Shockwave Active X Control 10.1
As I said I've already attempted a number of the fixes on this forum, but so far no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I might try?
    Thanks

Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it.  My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive.  The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution.

  • Adobe Reader not opening PDF Portfolio - Flash player error

I have Acrobat 9 Standard installed on my PC and I created a PDF Portfolio. Acrobat Standard can open that Portfolio just fine.
I also have Acrobat Reader installed (11.0.2).and have Adobe Flash Player (11.7.700.169) installed. Both Reader and Flash Player work fine independently on PDF or Flash content.
However when I try to open the PDF portfolio with Reader, I get the following Error:
:"To view the Flash technology in this FDF file; please install this version of Flash player that supports Adobe reader and Acrobat".
The Dialog box with the message above has a [Proceed to download page] button (which does nothing but bring up Reader with a black page), a [Learn more] button (similar behavior), and a [Cancel] button.  Both Reader and Flash are the latest versions as of today (4/16/2013).
Any help or insight with this is appreciated.

  • Is it possible to change the version of Flash Player that Adobe Reader 9 uses?

I'm currently attempting to put some flash content within a pdf using the new Rich Media extensions.  I have a working Flash .swf  that uses some of the newer methods that only Flash Player 10 supports.  The file can run on its own within Flash Player 10, but inside Adobe Reader 9 the flash player version is set to WIN 9,0,159,0 and the .swf file does not work.  Is there any way to change the version of the Flash Player used in Adobe Reader 9?

    Try code like this:
    <pre><nowiki>#window-controls .toolbarbutton-icon {
    width: 25px !important;
    height: 25px !important;
    </nowiki></pre>
The three buttons have these IDs:
    <pre><nowiki>#minimize-button
    #restore-button
    #close-button</nowiki></pre>

  • Adobe Reader plugins development

shoIs it possible to develop and use plugin for Adobe Reader XI without any registration (RIKLA)?
I have tried to build and test BasicPlugin from SDK samples. It works but shows  message "invalid plugin detected. Adobe Reader will quit" after 3-4 second.
    From documentation:
There are three types of plug-ins:
1.Regular plug-ins. The samples in the SDK are of this type.
2.Reader-enabled plug-ins. These are plug-ins that are developed with permission from Adobe and that require special processing to load under Adobe Reader.
    3.Certified plug-ins. See “Certified Plug-ins”
So I thought that I can create and use Regular plug-ins for Adobe Reader.
Also option "Use only certified plug-ins" is not set.

"Regular" means for Acrobat. You have to get a special license (or permission) from Adobe to develop Reader plugins.
